61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT happened: ETH miners mine ~5.2m$ daily while BTC miners 3.6M$ on: May 22, 2017, 04:13:07 AM
If ETH still plans on going PoS you may as well kiss it goodbye. PoS is horrible.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 20, 2017, 03:24:47 AM
show me any other financial means of moving $1900 worth for only $0.85 globally .... it doesnt exist.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: May 19, 2017, 03:02:08 PM
I wouldnt say "better" ...

One major difference is perceived value or inherent value w/ the following meaning:

"if you couldnt trade it, would you still want it?"

Im willing to bet if bitcoin/cryptocurrencies wasnt tradeable .... it would be dead and noone would want it.
Gold or precious metals on the other hand .... people would desire it and they have desired it for thousands and thousands of years.
64  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer L3+, 504MH/s on: May 10, 2017, 02:35:33 PM
Worth having it. I'm running 40 units at the moment. The Miner is very stable and zero problem for all 40 units. Happy hashing! LTC to the MOON!

40?!?! was there a batch I wasnt aware of? how do people have so many already but bitmain says doesnt ship out till july?
65  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (WTS) 3 In Hand Bitmain L3+ 504 MH/s on: May 09, 2017, 02:57:29 PM
Hello,

I have 3 Bitmain L3+'s I am offering for sale.  These units are in hand and hashing away.

Asking $3200 a piece for them plus shipping.  I also have 2 APW5 PSU's that can power 2 of these if you want them for $225 ea.

Guaranteed to ship within 24 hours of payment to me or to escrow.

Knock $50 off the price for each additional unit ordered.  So $3100 ea if you buy all 3.

From where?
66  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer L3+, 504MH/s on: May 09, 2017, 02:53:50 PM
Looking to get $3,400 in BTC shipped in the US.  Unit is in hand and mining away.  Can ship out ASAP.

How reliable has it been for you? Have you tried mining on any coinswitching pools or nicehash?
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: May 05, 2017, 02:49:16 PM
Does this firmware allow bbb and a neptune controller to run a Titan? I ask because I think I have a customer who claims he is doing just that due to his original Titan controller dieing. He purchased my firmware, he said it "installed fine" ... I have no idea if all of the features of my firmware work or not which I told him. LOL! Im very interested to see if my firmware upgrade works "out of the box" on this sorta set up...
I personally, have no way to test this scenario.

Yup, rock solid and still faster then the Pi. They really muist not have been able to source many bbb at the time of the titan. Probably due to the neptune
You said it "runs faster" in reference to the bbb.... what do you mean by faster, I wouldnt think the Titan would hash faster. Maybe the OS runs faster?

69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is responsible for less than 1% of Overstock's revenue on: April 14, 2017, 11:49:16 PM
The CEO of Overstock looks back at their decision to add bitcoin as a payment method in their online store in 2014:

http://www.coindesk.com/into-the-war-room-overstock-looks-back-on-bitcoin-embrace/

But despite all the excitement that move generated he had this to say:

Quote
While bitcoin is responsible for less than 1% of our annual revenue, our experience integrating it with our website allowed us to understand the true potential of blockchain technology.

Obviously he is really excited by blockchain tech etc etc etc - but the standout for me was that despite all the publicity and the hype, less than 1% of their revenue is paid for using bitcoin.

At this rate this coin is never going to be used as a currency - the community is too small, and only a fraction of that community is willing to spend bitcoin as opposed to hoarding/saving it.

Just wait till hyperinflation of USD sets in ..... people will be flocking to alternative value transfer vehicles to exchange goods and services. In this digital age .... bitcoin has high potential to scale against such an inflation and be a "convenient safe haven" which can still facilitate trade easily.

I just picked up a KNC Neptune set to play with.
The controller board does not have a display for the IP.
Is it a necessary part? If yes, Would you have a replacement I can buy.

Also, Does the GenTarkin upgrade work for Neptunes?

Finally, there is no power cord for the Controller board.
What is the cord I need for that?

Thanks for any advice and help.

No, the display isn't really worth it. Nice to figure out the IP addy but just check your dhcp logs

No, Tarkin fiddled with the Neppies but they went non-profitable too quickly

Normal HDD power cable, 4 pin molex.

Fire up the controller first, upgrade to 1.06 software, then make sure the green light comes on. Then go from there remember to never plug or unplug a cube from the controller with power on.

I never touched any KNC device firmware other than Titan. Never had a neptune or any KNC sha miner =)
71  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: April 05, 2017, 12:03:22 AM
Will the gentarkin firmware work with the Neptune?

No =( just titan.
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Dominance Reducing on: March 25, 2017, 06:37:00 AM
Fortunately I took the risk of selling 80% of my bitcoins at $1250. And perhaps I will buy some coins at $800, but I am not so optimistic about the next future of the bitcoin because it is clear that speculators are only using it as a pump and dump business.
I would advice you to buy bitcoins once more since its a great opportunity to buy bitcoin at a low price.I dont even know whether we could get such a low price in future.Good Luck.

Id say buy a bit back now, but wait for the majority =)

BTC's price has a long ways to go down before this whole forking business dust settles.

I estimate BTC+BTU after immediate forkage will total in value amounting to $500/unit  (1btc+btu) ... maybe even lower lol
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: January 26, 2017, 03:52:45 PM
Searing, dont worry, heres what most likely will happen:

Price of LTC vs BTC will continue to drop, like it has consistently for over a year or so.
People w/ new ASICs will continue to dump .. dropping the price even faster.
Difficulty will rise substantially.
Hopefully diff will rise fast enough that Bitmain never ROI's(because people hopefully stop buying) on their creation of a Scrypt ASIC(all god damn crypto ASIC manufactures should just die already.)
Titans and other old equip will be dumped.
Diff will peak then start to come back down due to LTC price being so low, Im thinking by the time all the above happens probably we be at .002btc
Miners who bought new ASICs relearn the hard lesson again that buying new ASICs at full price(usually only option).... often enough, results in really never ROI'ing

Year or 2 later....

New hardware is announced and the vicious cycle starts again ... oh and theres the reward halving =P

Its quite a stupid race really. The trick is getting in at a very advantageous point and then getting out soon as that advantage is gone.

For me, Titan will probably be the last ASIC I ever own ... then sadly this hobby will be dead for me ... which really fucking sucks =(
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: January 14, 2017, 06:05:06 PM
There is current performance of L3 in real time.
https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/36338/

Looks very unstable, but guy is probalby minning some ubercrapcoin. Eitherway L3 looks nice but given S9 issues and first scrypt miner from Bitmain, i wouldn't trust it. One breakdown a year and you will lose all you gained from electricity.

Not to mention the 11.56 difficulty rise in LTC.....this is getting "interesting' in the worst way.....flat LTC price more or less over the last months....more
scrypt miners out...like toasters................need some price action to compensate in some manner imho

Have not looked but what is it ...difficulty on LTC up over 30% and we have not seen the full push on A4's or L3's yet imho...

glad I waited to buy...again need a pump in price to offset this in scrypt pow and LTC as a specific notion....

And the LTC difficulty just keeps rocketing!
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/assets/difficulty/litecoin-hash_rate.png?1484412908

Its fucking depressing.... and this happens because people cant keep their hands off new miners that will NEVER ROI... fucking fools.
75  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: January 14, 2017, 02:55:50 AM
since KNC miner died, where to find firmware ? its not listed in OP.

Should be under here someplace Smiley

To the best of my recollection these are the Jupiter Images etc

enjoy..they make great space heaters!

If happen to be looking for Titan firmware check out my firmware here:

76  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spondoolies tech Sp20 Not working on: January 06, 2017, 03:47:51 PM
Silly as it sounds, try heating the miner using a blow dryer or heat gun for a good couple mins(less time if using heatgun) on the end that has the fan. After done heating it up, then try flipping ON the power switch.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Please give me advice, Bitcoin will rise again or go to hell? I'm scared on: January 05, 2017, 03:51:14 PM
Its easy to panic, dont let it get the best of you.
Maybe bleed off some if you want, but definitely not all. Think a tiny percentage that way if you want to feel better about it, you got some while it was "high" and you still have a majority of it left over for next time it goes up high again =)
Just look at BTC's price history. We were at this level 3 years ago, prior to that the most significant bubble was 2-2.5years before it.
BTC has now been around for over 8 years, it aint going away anytime soon.

The only time you should really start panicking is if a fatal flaw is found in BTC's code which results in systemic failure. For 7 years or so ... this has yet to happen, its a pretty reliable piece of software.

note: I do believe although that because this bubble failed to best the last major bubble.... we have found btc's mid term(5-10yrs) trading channel.... sub $1200
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very little Press Coverage of Bitcoin's Rally this time on: January 05, 2017, 02:44:32 AM
Thats cuz theres not much news to cover.... this isnt record breaking yet.
Somewhere around $1300 is record breaking =P
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today's investors do not care about Bitcoin on: January 05, 2017, 02:38:49 AM
countryfree: the funny thing is .... even with all these "scalability problems" ... bitcoin continues to function perfectly fine, as long as you know what you're doing or you're patient when it comes to transaction / confirmation times.

Also, its a damn good thing segwit has so little support ... the last thing we need is btc being undermined by people who want to centrally control it. FUCK THEM!
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: KNC Titan 300mh/Innsilicon 270mh/L3 250mh Bitmain Scrypt Miners Compared. Meh! on: December 31, 2016, 06:14:13 PM
The simple truth:
If you have a Scrypt ASIC NOW .... congrats, you already ROI'd and will keep doing so for a lil while longer.
If you plan on buying A4 / L3 .... congrats, it will take at least a year+ to ever ROI.... if diff and price stay where they are. We all know diff will skyrocket because people are addicted to mining even if its in the red.... so ROI will be 2-4years ... by then LTC may be completely worthless ... given how its done nothing but gone down consistently for the last 1-2 against BTC.
