I've got a request for ya GenTarkin. Could you allow us to enable and disable the automatic soft & hard rebooting of downed dies? I prefer tuning my cubes VIA increasing or decreasing voltages, but if it's being rebooted automatically I don't know when or where to increase or decrease voltages.

Added to the TODO list, will probably be in the release after my next release =P
It will be an simple disable / enable for ALL dies, not just 1 ... that takes substantially more time to code.

Ill have to rewrite my cgi scripts so I only have to put one submit button at the top, since more n more settings get added. LOL, weee that will be a lil while before its all changed up.

If someone could make that background logo without the K, but keep the loop... that would be awesome!

The titan was so much cooler though - and not nearly as IP-infringe-y.. though I guess the whole firmware might be treading in legal waters

Well, KNC's work on the firmware is MIT licensed(sellable), bfgminer is GPLv3 (sellable), the rest is GNU-linux afaik which is GPL or similar therefore sellable.

I like that, now if I could adjust its transparency lol...

with price at these value scrypt mining does not worth Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

If you have a Titan(still the most power effecient scrypt miner) ... its still more than worth mining =), depending on ur elec rates of course.

LOL! =P

Looking good!  Tongue

Of course, it needs a bit of the old kfc blue

 Cool  Grin

(P.S. On your image, I'd put something like "Build" or "Mods by GenTarkin", otherwise it looks like you are the manufacturer and I'm sure you don't want your good name associated with such poor quality hardware  Wink)

If ya could make the Titan Miner text bigger, then put by GenTarkin below it, kinda like my idea I posted, that would be fabulous ROFL! =P

One can never have too many laughs Smiley

(P.S. Your KFC Titan is brilliant, the Colonel would be proud  Grin)

HAHAHA!!! Thats too funny =P

530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CUSTOM KNC TITAN FIRMWARE! based off KNC's v2.00 on: August 26, 2015, 06:18:22 AM
UPDATE:
Now installable via SYSTEM -> UPGRADE...

If you are the stock v 2.00 KNC firmware or one of my older builds prior to v.98 , you can now use this file:

https://github.com/GenTarkin/Titan/releases/download/v.98/upgradetitan_v98_don.bin

Simply perform a firmware upgrade using KNC's webgui & reboot.
It will take a good few minutes to install.

Guys we are looking for someone that can help with graphics. We want to remove the KNCminer logo as we do not want to be associated with them in any way. If any of you have graphic skills can you make a nice logo that has the same dark blue color as the Kncminer logo, except it will just say "Titan Miner". This will be used in the Titan Gui. Make it nice and fancy as you can. Be original, and please submit your work here on this thread. Also we need some help with our new OP. Can someone create a nice looking op with our current information compiled and post the code here, so we can create a new professional looking OP?

Thank you
Vegas

You are welcome

LOL! =P

UPDATE:
If anyone wants to try, Ive decided to release the STOCK v2.00 -> v.98 upgrade file.
It can be found here:
https://github.com/GenTarkin/Titan/releases/download/v.98/upgradetitan_v98_don.bin

If your already on v.98 release, dont use this upgrade file. This is for previous releases of mine or STOCK KNC Firmware.

Install via webgui -> SYSTEM -> UPGRADE.

In testing:
Direct upgrade from STOCK KNC firmware 2.00 to my firmware!!!! ... so far, in practice its been working =)
Will post .bin v.98 build to github later on.
No more need to flash .img files =)

This will keep all ur current settings as well =)

Is the webGUI running on an http server? Can it render PHP files? If so, I can make a quick API in PHP and that would open up the firmware to be controlled through a mobile app.

this would be a great feature also like to open up the miner API to allow BFG miner stats into a managment program I use to monitor up time and stats on all my miners from a dashboard alos allows faster on the fly pool changes

This would be easy if it was on ur local network, I could change the bfgminer start config in its service.... but if u needed custom ip's / networks .. that would have to be inputted somewhere. Not sure of a best way to do that for now =/ Maybe down the road =)

No, PHP is not installed, its just a barebones lighttpd service that handles the webgui.

So, had another idea ... Im contemplating how hard it would be to install my mods using KNC's upgrade firmware method. I think I would be able to pull it off , that way people can just upgrade from stock to my custom firmware right from the webgui and keep all their settings..
They would flash the tarball available from my git page using knc's "upgrade" option in SYSTEM tab.
Whats ur guys take on that?

Nevermind, that would be harder than I thought, for now at least.

Not sure but in my past days of Hacking Navigation System FW it was easy to simply change a file indicating the revision number with one of a higher value and it would accept the flash even if everything was the same I had bricked a few NAV units and needed to find a way to re-flash them this might not be the same case here

Yeah, its totally different on KNC, basically their upgrade firmware button just checks for the existance of runme.sh in the tarball then it executes it. Im testing this out right now, the trick is creating the tar in the format the upgrade script wants. I think I got it tho, I just wrote my own "MakeUpgradeBuild" script that should put my working tree in the proper format =)

Thanks for your vote guys on the lighttpd access logging. If I get around to coding it into the webgui it will be under the "SYSTEM" page most likely, makes most sense.
TXSteve, all it logs are page access's to the webgui, it may log access attempts & fails to the webgui as well. If your concerned bout that then I would leave it on.

Basically, why I turned my off is cuz I like like leaving the webgui up w/ the status page open. The status page refreshes w/ new data every 5 seconds. Well, when that refresh happens it writes the access to the log file. Every seconds a decent amount of data is written, averaging 2.5KB/s to the SD card, over time that will wear it out. For the people who dont leave the webgui open at all, this problem shouldnt really exist.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 25, 2015, 12:44:11 AM
So, today I was monitoring writes being made to the SD card while the rig is running, and it had a consistent average of 2.5KB/s being written. I set out to find out what was doing this, turns out its lighttpd's access log piling up into a gigantic log when ur actually just sitting at the webgui idle.
Ive turned the access log off to conserve the SD card. Would this be a mod anyone want me to put into next release at all? Or do yall prefer the logging to be on?
Let me know.

RELEASE of GenTarkin's Mod ~ Custom KNC Titan Firmware v1.0.0 IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Previous customers: head to http://gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/custom-knc-titan-firmware-myaccount/ to obtain your FREE UPGRADE and license key(s)!!

New / Unverified previous customers: head to http://gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/custom-knc-titan-firmware-shop/ to purchase!!

RELEASE NOTES:

Major Features, Additions, Fixes & Changes:
Added the long awaited “Energy Saver” feature – automatically tunes die voltages for highest effeciency while keeping the die stable as possible & hw% low. ~~MORE INFO http://gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/energy-saver-faq-help/ ~~
DCDC Over-Current protection – any DCDC’s detected above 46A will be issued a die reset, if that fails then die speed is clocked down significantly to prevent DCDC failure.
Long Term Stability checking for all dies – bumps voltage up on a die if it becomes unstable more than 2x in a period of 2 days.
Per RPI Cube Tracking – if cubes are added, removed or moved around their last known clocks and volts on a given pi will be restored.
Internet outtage / dead pool detection to prevent miner from constantly resetting itself.
Slight webgui redesign.
Product license activation.
Full Copyright & end user license information.
Much smaller installation file.

Additional Features, Additions, Fixes & Changes:
Full translation of webgui pages to 80+ different languages.
Logging file output format refined and also includes more timestamps now.
Optimized timing of die / cube soft and hard resets.
Fixed format of advanced.conf file not being updated properly when user changes/removes/adds cubes or manually sets dies OFF.
ADVANCED page now shows which dies(if any) are being throttled because of DCDC over temp threshold.
ADVANCED page now auto refreshes every 5 minutes.
Noticed in rare cases dies are configured with positive voltage – wrote correction code for this.
For “Energy Saver” implemented cross reboots internal data array tracking capability.
Ability for user to save Log Files to a file to be posted or emailed for diagnostic purposes. (This is part of the Energy Saver options).
Added BALANCE strategy to MINER page – this may work better than LOAD-BALANCE for some users.
Removal of BFGminer version option – in testing 5.1.0 works best with Titans – can re-add later on as an optional installation file if demand is high enough.
More fixes to KNC’s shoddy code.
And many more small fixes / improvements too numerous to list.

All the previous firmware features and improvements are included!

Now … you’re probably asking yourself “yeah yeah, but how much do all these wonderful new features cost?” Simple: $75 first full copy, $35 for additional licenses.

Verified Previous Customers: The upgrade to this firmware is completely FREE for the number of Titans the previous version was purchased. Additional Titans require additional license purchase. If you created an account here previously then you will find license keys issued to your account. **NOTE** If you have not created an account on this site and verified your previous purchases, please contact me - http://gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/custom-knc-titan-firmware-contact/

***IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTICE*** – Upon upgrading to and activation of this firmware, its EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to keep track of which license was used on your KNC Titan(s). An easy way to do this is create backups of your Titan(s) after activating, then keep record of which backup went to which Titan.

***PRODUCT NOTICE*** – upon purchasing / obtaining this software, the end user agrees to the license terms set forth here(this file is also contained in my firmware): gentarkincustomtitan.pcriot.com/gentarkin_mod/LICENSE

-------------------

I recently purchased a KNC Titan... after reading about all the issues people had with keeping them up n running stable ... I was inspired to see if I could make the Titan more reliable. So, I set out to see if I could remedy one of the most common issues ...I have dumped weeks of coding into the KNC pi img that most people use to control their Titans. As a result is a project thats grown beyond what I originally saw and I have catered to the needs of several miners who've graciously donated. So, my contribution to LTC, KNC Titan miners n general is publicly available firmware improvements. If you feel u would benefit from this improvement, more than welcome to check it out here:
https://github.com/GenTarkin/Titan

Key features:
1. DCDC overheat protection(configurable), will auto clock down dies which cross over user specified DCDC temp threshold.
2. "Sleeping die" reset implimentation - fixes dies who just go to sleep n disappear while mining, without needing to have to power cycle the whole rig manually.
3. Ability to choose between stock bfgminer 5.1.0 or bfgminer 5.2.0
4. More stats on webgui & other webgui tweaks
5. Improvements to KNC's original backup settings(saves voltages & clocks now)
6. "OTA" updates to latest release of my builds.
7. More to come... =)

Latest release: https://github.com/GenTarkin/Titan/releases/tag/v.98
After flashing the .img of my latest release, all further upgrades to new releases are accomplished by simply hitting the upgrade button on STATUS page where it shows the release version.

There are 2 "donation" or payment options to choose from
1. The .img posted on github has a built in .75% per 24hr period of mining for me.
2. Premium purchase which is $50 in LTC upfront. Contact vegasguy (member on forum here) for more details. He handles distribution n payment. (this has the .75% donation disabled)
