261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are ICOs success factors? on: September 13, 2019, 09:04:08 PM
Yes I invested in some which I don't know what's going on with them again as I was forced to abandon it because the team made a joke out of everyone. The truth is, I can't invest in any ICO now not when IEOs are still doing good. ICO era is gone and most upcoming projects have seen it and now opt for IEOs; the good thing is, good exchanges select IEOs which they believe will be a success thus adding to their integrity to attract more. This is one of the reasons IEOs in most exchanges are still doing well.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why i prefer mining and investing in ICO/IEO on: September 13, 2019, 08:55:06 PM
I used to mine in fact was very lucrative for me until faced challenges in my new place which made me to quit, as anytime I mine and offset bills I end up with little or no profit. But nowadays, I have found solace in IEOs thus doing so within my power to get the most out of it. To some people, IEO might not worth it most especially when it is done on some exchanges while to some people IEO is profitable taking into account major exchanges like Binance etc.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why exchanges most interested to launch IEO? on: September 12, 2019, 06:06:01 PM
Talking of IEO in exchanges come in two directions, the first is for the exchange in question and the second is for the users or participants. Talking of exchanges, they benefits hugely from promoting good IEOs which is most times seen in the rise of the native coin as well as the reputation added to them should the IEO return a good profit to Participants. On the other hand is users or investors who are no longer afraid of being scammed since the public sale is taking place in an exchange. Also, if it's in major exchange, they are sure of a good profit. Thus from all ramifications, both the exchange and the investors benefits, although exchanges benefits more.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stratis vs. Ethereum on: September 12, 2019, 05:38:09 PM
With all the buzz from the wave of IEOs, ICOs still provide the freedom for crypto projects to fulfill their planned timelines, from my point of view.
Do you think Stratis has benefits over Ethereum as a platform for launching ICOs?
It's been long I heard about this Stratis reason being that other valuable platforms like XLM, ETH have overshadowed it. On the other hand, on what grounds can Stratis beat ETH to become a prominent launching blockchain for ICOs? I still find it hard to compare both because the difference is so clear starting from their ranking in CMC. The funny thing is, many platforms being compared with ETH is still going down in rank while ETH still maintains its position, I think that's a good reason to show that till further notice, ETH remains the top altcoin.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping crypto from mass adoption? on: September 11, 2019, 10:48:45 PM
You have done a great work, but however I do think the crypto is to a level noob friendly, the only thing required to get started is actually to get started because there are different informations to help one kick start a good journey. This forum is here to help, there are some interesting informations on YouTube etc. On the other hand, on the issue of mass adoption, one of the issues limiting is scalabilty of the blockchain which involves speed and so on; although different steps have been taken but we need more hands on deck. Mass adoption will take place but we need to get it right by focusing on projects with great concepts.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This might be ridiculous, but let answer this question on: September 11, 2019, 10:35:52 PM
Of course I do enjoy my life outside this forum, you only need to balance it out. We only live once thus won't actually make sense living one directional which might be work; but it will worth it to figure out some time to spend with family and friends. There is no doubt, this forum keeps one engaged with different activities which helps in different ways to impact in our lives but I think it is worth more to have time for ourselves outside the forum.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARE ICOS STILL LEGIT? on: September 09, 2019, 09:07:38 AM
We heard the news of IEO to be in place of ICO in order to curb the high rate of failure and scams in the development of altcoins projects in this year 2019. My surprise is that I still see series of projects claiming to be in ICOs. Doesn't that make them scam as we have seen in the same scenarios in the past?

If it is, I wonder why people still invest whether their time or monies in such projects which have high risk of loss or being scammed.
I have only heard of 1 project that did ICO this year, the rest all switched to IEO because they have seen the clear results that ICOs aren't worth it. But that doesn't mean that any project doing ICO is scam, some might want to try something new thus the reason they are sticking to ICO, its only left for us to check if the project is worth it or not thereby deciding to invest or not. However, IEO is still being fair and will be hard for investors to go for ICO when they know what to gain from IEO.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The importance of the community in a project. on: September 09, 2019, 09:03:06 AM
You raised good and valid points and that's the truth. The community within every project can lead it to success at the same time can drag it down. The community contributes their time, knowledge, experience and efforts towards ensuring the project succeeds because they know the success of the project will mean more return to them; and when they are welcomed with open arms they will spread the news of the project around. In the same way, when they are treated harshly maybe after the Public sale has been done, they will still spread the news around thus in one way or the other bringing the project down..
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You think ICO Investing Is Worse Than Online Gambling on: September 08, 2019, 09:16:33 PM
I will not equate both but however, looks like online gambling is fair as compared to ICO investing. In ICO investing, you are certainly at the mercy of the developers, some will scam, some will make excuses not to list, some will even list and the price will dump miserably; only few have proved to worth it and when found pays well. While in online gambling, you are in control thus if you are good gambler, you might win and vice versa.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is whitepaper important in the project? on: September 07, 2019, 09:34:42 PM
If we don't research the whitepaper, how will we know what the project is all about, or if it's fake? The whitepaper is as important as ever can be imagined as it forms the foundation on which a project is built although it can still be updated as time goes on. Also, it is through the whitepaper that we have a glimpse or mindset of investing or not; anyone who invests in a project without reading the whitepaper is doing so based on hype which in most cases ends up disappointing them.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of this Exchange jetxcoins.com on: September 07, 2019, 09:29:45 PM
This is funny, as I was chatted by about 2 of those fraudsters last week and they used the same format. The truth is newbies will fall for this as well as those who are greedy because what they promised is mouthwatering. Owing to the way telegram is nowadays, it is necessary for everyone to be careful and mind the people we chat it, no wonder many projects are now moving to discord.
Nevertheless, am happy you were wise and wish many will come across this post and learn as well.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you identify a transparent project team? on: September 07, 2019, 09:25:21 PM
Most team always have a good social media accounts, starting with LinkedIn which is duly updates with their experiences and qualifications so far. Thus if a team finds it hard relating such to the community then something is wrong. Also, study the whitepaper, pick strategic questions and ask the team to see their reactions, in certian cases the team either removes the user or ignores the question. Also, another way it through AMA.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to exchange big amounts? on: September 07, 2019, 09:18:53 PM
Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.
I always tell my friends that when issues of money arises, that we should be careful and explore as much options as possible especially in this crypto space. Now talking about big amounts, in my own opinion, the best way to exchange such is via major exchanges where you have securely protected your accounts, and on of this major exchanges is Binance. For changelly etc, I would suggest you use them for small amounts while for big amounts try major exchanges; but preferably major exchanges are the best for any type of crypto exchange.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big prize for 1 participant in a signature campaign? on: September 07, 2019, 09:14:23 PM
for example: prize allocation for a campaign (signature) is around 2,000,000 tokens and if the project only has 1 participant in the campaign (signature) and when the project has been completed or not scammed, is it true that the participant will get the sum of all tokens (signatures)?
or maybe not at all,  for other reasons?
First i don't think it's possible to have just a participant in one campaign be it signature or others. Secondly in most campaigns, there is a rule which states that if the number of participants in a particular campaign isn't much, that campaign allocation will be slashed and added to other campaigns probably to the one with much participants. On the other hand, there might be a case scenario whereby the participants in a particular campaign will be capped so as to ensure the participants gets a reasonable payouts.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin is ‘Very Confident’ About Ethereum 2.0 Launching Phase on: September 06, 2019, 10:25:11 PM
Ethereum has been aiming for scalability and I think this might set the path to it if properly done.  Also, with this step Ethereum is proving once more that it is the top altcoin and will have the higher chance of growing in price sooner than later. Also, taking a look at what Ethereum team aims to achieve, one will see that it is a good one as only few projects has ever embarked on it which are hardly heard of, thereby with Ethereum succeeding will pave the way for most projects which aims to be based on Proof-of-Stake.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins ever come back again on: September 06, 2019, 10:16:08 PM
Yes of course but only those that has what it takes to come back. What I meant is, altcoins which are valuable and have something to offer unlike the hype ones. Also, the nature of the current market I exposing many altcoins now and investors are getting wise the more; that is taking profit at the appropriate time and going back to Bitcoin. I thinks it wise to hold more of Bitcoin and only few altcoins like ETH or altcoins that have a product which will constantly keep the platform valuable.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which country to start an altcoin? on: September 06, 2019, 10:11:17 PM
I've been interested in how to win over bitcoin (if at all).
The idea I got is using social mining, thus each person having Facebook account will get a coin for free.
The idea is to get more users more faster compared to BTC and not win by technology.

1) Has such been tried ?
2) In what country might it be cheapest to start launching a website and ask people to join to see whether such coin can be brought to life and turns viral ?
You should take your time to properly draft your idea then run the feasible study to see how achievable it will be so that you don't end up wasting your resources before getting a tangible result. Secondly don't bother comparing your idea with Bitcoin or looking for ways to beat it, rather let's yours be unique in its own way and you will see the result. Also, I think countries with friendly crypto regulations is Malta, Singapore and Switzerland.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO and IEO running at same time for same project on: September 02, 2019, 07:24:40 AM
This is my first time of hearing such, what I normally hear is, they are conducting IEO in different exchanges or they have abandoned ICO and switched to IEO. I don't think it makes sense though, and even if they should, people might find it hard getting involved as it is confusing from all angles and might lead to negligence of the project by potential investors because they will consider it scam.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to choose Kucoin ??? on: September 02, 2019, 07:20:06 AM
As Binance failed to prove it is safest exchange also there is less features compare to Kucoin . Kucoin gives revenue sharing for KCS token in exchange more over its also having IEO and other option compare to Binance Kucoin giving more option . What you guys think about binance alternative??
How many centralized exchanges have been hacked? How many came back stronger? You see, from the questions the evidence is clear that Binance is indeed a strong exchange which despite its hacking still came back and continued its activities. Despite its hack people are still using it and new projects are still going for IEO there. So I don't think there is anything wrong with trading in Binance exchange, but we should be careful of leaving funds there, not only Binance but all exchanges. Kucoin on the other hand is a good one too, including its revenue aspects etc, but in all ramifications it can't be compared to Binance.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM ICOs, what we can do? on: September 02, 2019, 03:51:00 AM
What can we do other than to stop investing in them. The truth is, most times we see signs of failures in these new projects but owing to hype or what "experts" says we end up being victims. To curb scam projects, first we need to be wise, always ensure to study each project all round before investing, even  if we have doubts we can ask questions to be sure before investing, because this is a matter of money. Also, IEOs has made it possible for projects not to use the "we are working on our product" excuse to run away from questions about listing.
