Yes, this story does seem a bit old-fashioned in the 21st century, doesn't it Grin
1842  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 07:11:02 PM
Bitcoin Bulls...

I AM DISAPPOINT.

+1... it was 3000btc to 7.2! Angry
no doubt Bitcoinica's fault.
Now bids are looking weak...
1843  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 05:49:32 PM
I really want it to either crash to $6 or rally to $8... it's so damn boring seeing $6.xx days and days on end.

Same, it has been too long. I hope the whale Chodpada mentions will actually arrive.

Had the TV show happened on a weekday or had Bitcoinica had $20k more in reserves or had there not been MLK day today, perhaps we would've had a continuation of the rally to $8.  The rally failed with 3k BTC to go to get past $7.2... it was extremely close to materializing.

The whale will might arrive tomorrow, when banks open again.

1845  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin is currently (Jan 16th) crashing and why it may continue on: January 16, 2012, 04:31:30 PM
Would be interesting to know what kind of money this guy has got as a reserve given it is widely believed he is a teenager.

Usually 6 digits in USD and 5 digits in Bitcoin.

but not now, huh? Wink
now you have 0 digits in USD probably.
1846  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 04:22:34 PM

those damn katyushas got us in the end
1847  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 04:07:57 PM
Ya'll do realize there is going to be a dip...

Aaaannnd... The dip.

What made you certain? The lack of new money since early in the month?

Technicals showed uncertainty even though a glance at the charts made things look rosy Smiley

This is why I was cautious about calling a rally to $8... never posted that thread.

I know which star sign I hate, and it's the star next to the ask ticker on Bitcoinica Angry

A very benefic sign if you ask me.

except for people who have stops at 7.2

For the people who were joking about housewives buying bitcoin (and I think I was one of them)...

We shall prevail!
1853  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitscalper anyone use this ? on: January 16, 2012, 03:29:01 AM
bitscalper: if you aren't a ponzi, why are outputs generally unspent?  you're not even pretending to use the coins
1854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did everyone buy bitcoins. on: January 16, 2012, 03:27:37 AM
People may have heard it in passing and never bothered to check it out. The show explains a lot and they might go check it out more when they see that the show is about it. Also dont forget that this show is around permanently now meaning people might watch it more than once and get convinced to check it out. Don't underestimate the power of the show.

+1.  love how they put a fake weusecoins video in there which was actually pretty accurate....

Price up to 7.12, less than 10k to 7.2 and less than 30k to 8... upward momentum is significant.

Will we break through?  I don't know.  We'll find out Smiley
1855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in tv show -The Good Wife - Episode 3.13 - Finding Mr. Bitcoin on: January 16, 2012, 03:25:22 AM
PURE PWNAGE

GREAT JOB CBS!

+1.
1856  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitscalper anyone use this ? on: January 16, 2012, 02:31:21 AM
Well I got out my 150 BTC with a profit of 7 BTC (10 - 3 for withdrawal)
Can't complain about a free $50  Grin

still making money too, either the site is bugged and the guy's losing money or some sort of ponzi thing is still going on

Please send back the coins or we will terminate your account. this kind of activity is not tolerated. this is a beta, not a cash cow for you to exploit.
Address to send back the coins : 145rhGP2X5x5bwszqhDgHAnkt55yc7fBAj

hahah. Go home scammer.

translation: the "bug" is a ruse to get more people to deposit their monies.

As for now, the scammer is YOU, who exploited a bug for a couple coins. Bravo, well done.

you of all people are calling people scammers? ...
1857  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 16, 2012, 02:29:15 AM
A bit of a whipsaw with the PSAR... now bullish again.  MACD might also cross over back to bullish territory.

I reiterate... 7.2 or bust!
1858  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: January 15, 2012, 09:24:03 PM
12443 BTC left until 7.2...
