2022  Economy / Speculation / Re: $20 before CES on: January 06, 2012, 12:22:33 AM
Ugh still waiting on my USD to show up...the train gets farther and farther away everyday it doesn't show up. I'm only buying in because I got a feeling were going double digits again in the not so distant future.

How many bitcoins do you want?  I can do a loan.

2028  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7 today, in my opinion on: January 06, 2012, 12:05:22 AM

2029  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7 today, in my opinion on: January 05, 2012, 11:02:05 PM

2030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mad Speculator now live on bitcoinica on: January 05, 2012, 10:58:12 PM
Look at you two in the black already! Good timing.  Cheesy

whether he admits it or not, Proudhon was born to be long.

He was long back in April... he's simply coming back to the good side.

Proudhon, welcome back.

I guess this is as good a time as ever to admit that I went all in back at $2.4 but have had my finger very nervously over the sell button ever since.

Ha! You were trolling us all along!
You were simply a bear so that you could buy more, weren't you? One of the many fake bears on this forum, I guess.

Well, no, I really was...er...am bearish, I think.  At least, long term I don't think these spikes are sustainable.  But I had a bunch of money sitting in MtGox not doing anything and I just decided sort of on a whim that I'd buy back in.  I actually sold a few times on the way up because I was convinced it was all going to come crashing back down, but so far I've only managed to lose bitcoin.  My bearishness is getting shaken up pretty good, as much as I try to resist it.

Admit it, you're a bull... what kind of bear goes long!?  A fake one.
2031  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7 today, in my opinion on: January 05, 2012, 10:53:53 PM
The resistance is because 6.6 USD = 5 EUR, apparently.
edit: Never mind.  mtgoxEUR is 5.00 right now though.

Can you change the margin of an open position?

Yes.

Has anyone determined if these pics are faked?  Guess I should start a short position on my other acct to hedge...

How's that supposed to be possible? Only people with bitcoinica insider knowledge could determine wether or not these are fake.

Or the people who made them...

I made the second one lol.  It's fake, I thought everyone already knew that.. I posted a giant trollface and NOBODY SAW IT?

We're nearing the 10:1 liquidation target.
Additionally, 6.6 used to be a strong support in the old days, was the site of an askwall days ago, and has now been breached.
2036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mad Speculator now live on bitcoinica on: January 05, 2012, 10:45:32 PM
I could grab a penny!

we could very well be on the verge of Proudhon pumping Bitcoin!!!

lol.  I just want to understand how this leveraged trading business works.  It's mystifying the way you guys talk about it.

how u likin this Proudhon!!!? you be makin MONEY!!!

LOL. You guys need to teach me this trading business as well. Seems too damn hard with all these terms. WTF is spread or margin ? I feel like an idiot every time I read the speculation board.

Google should be sufficient to teach you how to trade Smiley

If not, read the drug dealer analogy up there.
Leverage = You borrow money and use it to take a position on the market.  Later on, you return the money.  If you lose enough money, your own balance is wiped out and you have to repay the loan.  It's a way of multiplying returns.
Spread = Ask - bid: Bitcoinica makes a profit by buying low and selling high to you.  They sell to you at the ask (you buy at ask when you go long), vice versa for bid.
Shorting = When you borrow bitcoins to sell, and the market takes a plunge, and then you buy more bitcoins and keep the difference.
2037  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7 today, in my opinion on: January 05, 2012, 10:41:12 PM
13k to $7.  If the trend continues, we'll see $7 by midnight.

Your the Manipulator aren't you?    I can't take any chances so I'm gona put my tin foil hat on now.  Wink

I predict spikes awfully accurately, don't I... Wink

2039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mad Speculator now live on bitcoinica on: January 05, 2012, 10:39:31 PM
now that we talk about leverage, how on earth on bond market they give you 400:1 the variance need to be damn f low so they give you that leverage  Cheesy

Yeah... Bitcoin is not a normal market Wink
2040  Economy / Speculation / Re: $7 today, in my opinion on: January 05, 2012, 10:38:31 PM
We just hit $6.5.  We're on track to reach the first liquidation target, which could cause a chain reaction.
