Can't. Login didn't work. Asked to reset password, still waiting on email. Any chance of having thread on nxtcrypto?

My brain will blow up if I try to memorize one password more.

There's your new password right there.

Просто чтобы быть ясно, это будет построен для работы в Nxt blockchain, поэтому мы можем легко использовать монету в клиенте Nxt потенциально?

Да

Отлично, спасибо, с нетерпением жду этого!

You can use google translater to english, it's good enough to get the main points.

Of course, thank you

I was simply requesting creating a poll to summarize what has been suggested... nothing more.
Perfect solution for Voting app:
- you run it
- it downloads latest blockchain
- it extracts newest votings
- it shows you that votings
- you do some left-mouse-button clicks on checkboxes
- you click "submit"
- you go to sleep (as C-f-B recommends)

Democracy on the march! Cheesy

+1, except CFB "sleep" is code for "testing major bugs".  Seriously though, really like the idea of a voting section in client, based on your public key block height and voting topic block height, click boxes that are up for vote and done.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information VOTING WEIGHTS on: January 15, 2014, 05:19:40 PM

going to a size-of-wallet voting scheme is plain MEDIEVAL - sure this has been brought up here before, but how about this:

Thanks everyone for the great ideas and discussion about voting, it's what I was hoping for Smiley

I agree with the above statement and that's why I proposed what I did. My concept of voting is only based on the American democratic process. So that's why I proposed how I did.

I am curious that no one commented about the account restrictions based on blockchain height I mentioned: If a vote was proposed and went public on block height of 45,000 an account would have to have existed for 'X' number of blocks before the block containing the vote (i.e, you have to be 18yrs old to vote in the U.S.), we could take it a bit further and say that that account would also have to NXT in it for a certain amount of blocks before the vote as well (like the 1440 blocks before you can forge). This could surely cut down on the amount of gaming no?

This makes a lot of sense on so many levels. Not only would it prevent gaming the system from large holders, but it prevents people from buying large sums of NXT (for a short period) to try to manipulate the vote.  The more I think about this approach, the more it grows on me.

This is a great idea.  A forging account with public key will be able to get one vote.  Or as mentioned above, only an account that existed at a particular block height would get to vote on the particular topic.  That way you could go back in time and put up a vote for a smaller group of founders, etc...

+1 I like the idea. But if you go back to the first block, there aren't anyone else to vote except BCNext or anyone else ? Smiley

Well haha of course if you go back to the Genesis block Smiley But it would an arbitrary number. Need to be an account with a public key for at least the previous 10,000 blocks when the vote block come up. Or whatever.....

One idea is that when a voting issue is raised and up for public debate we can mark the block at that time and only accounts "older" than that mark can vote on that issue.

Furthermore, I think setting up a vote should cost a certain amount of NXT to avoid spamming.

Yes, exactly, that would be a default (topic submitted at current block height), but the person could also choose at which block they want to issue the vote topic.  I think the vote topic should cost at least 1 Nxt of course.  Really think we are on to something here, seems like a fair system.  Perhaps we could put it up for vote in the Nxtcrypto forum then forward result to JLP for implementation, or whomever is responsible.

Is anyone offering the service of creating an altcoin based on the algorithm of Nxt?

I'm launching a coin based on Nxt soon. It will use AM and Nxt blockchain. Sources will be written in JavaScript and completely open. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=415580.0)

Would it be possible for you to translate (English) your first post, just so we have an idea?  Is it going to be built on top of Nxt, so we can use it within Nxt?  Thanks.

1.2 Trillion units at $.1  Who do I congratulate on the $120Bil valuation?  I'll contact CoinmarketCap.

What are your plans?

Project "Kharon".

I get the feeling Project Kharon is a CFB & BCNext collaboration.

how bout if it's not roi within X years as promise, Y% of the invested coins shall be returned to the donators.

Well there is always big risk connected to big roi expectations.
But if the math above is right, it won´t be a big business to invest in etherium, more to use the features and/or invest in them if it will be possible.

Yeah, seems like a competitor to eMu, people are going to get killed on the IPO price, I see people selling at 10x lower in a few months.

Can someone explain in plain terms what this "voting" is for?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy

I think the question was within the context of Nxt itself - my understanding is that changes to the protocol or other things that could greatly affect the stakeholders would be subject to a vote.

Yes exactly.  Nxt becomes a lot less attractive if major changes can be made by voting.  What changes will be put up for vote?

Yes, sorry, that was a smart ass reply.  I think its more than just changes in protocol, think about voting as a mass communication tool for Nxt, very powerful.

Bitcoin has a current inflation of about 11%
Ethereum seems to have a initial inflation of 50%, based on the info.

Why not proof-of stake? Fixes the inflation and the 51% attack problem.
Cool project though. Can't wait to get more info at Miami.

Vitalik had trouble solving the "fork" issue, that is, that when two forks arise in a PoS coin, there is no incentive for PoS miners to select one over the other.  That is, they are incentivized to mine both simultaneously at the same time.  He thought he may have solved it today, but didn't seem terribly interested in pure PoS, especially because you need to typically do a 100% premine.

There are other people I know who previously wanted pure PoS chains arguing about them for one reason or another now.  I would guess that Satoshi himself/themselves also considered this (as it seems like the more logical means to construct a cryptocurrency network), but abandoned it for whatever reason.

Can you help me understand Ethereum.  I can seemingly buy 200k for 20BTC, yet there is no interest earned or POS forging?  Furthermore, there will eventually be 1.2Trillion Ethereum?  I just don't get why there is so many units, I mean I get 2 Billion, but 1.2 Trillion?  Doesn't seem like I'm getting a lot for my buck.  Also, why POW, it's an incredible waste of resource.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 15, 2014, 05:15:27 AM
Ethereum just killed NXT.

Same with all the others.

A POW inflationary coin, hardly.

Actually there is a maximum amount. It just takes longer to mine them all, however there is a limit. Inflation also trends to zero.

What is the maximum?  I hope Ethereum is successful, alt coins can co-exist, this isn't Highlander.  Also, the name is terrible, and the POW will ultimately kill the project.

Haha, nevermind, just saw there are 1.2 Trillion Ethereums, all at the cheap price of 10k per 1BTC, what an insane ripoff.  At least projects like eMu will pay you interest on your holdings.  The creator is 19 years old, hence the WOW reference.  Also, let me get this right, it's a POW, with a pre-sale IPO?  Glad I did a little research before wasting a BTC.
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 15, 2014, 04:53:16 AM
In terms of voting, I appreciate what you're trying to do with a 1 person == 1 vote, but... well... it just won't work.

I think it could but it does require a bit of "thinking outside of the box" - I could envision some sort of decentralised online *game* which you have to play in order to vote (you only get to vote when you finish the game).

If you limit the time window (and make the game something that might take an hour or so to complete) then I think you'd get close to 1 vote per person (you'll never get it 100% right).

It's really a question of whether a "democracy" is what is wanted or whether instead it should just be the largest stakeholders that make the decisions.

Maybe a better way is to simply *pay* for a vote - so if you want to vote 10K times it costs you 10K NXT (with the funds being used on whatever is being voted for I guess).

Yeah, I think in the end it's best if it's 1 Nxt - 1 Vote, keep it simple.

Edit: Or maybe even, 1 Account = 1 Vote but it costs 1NXT per account to vote.

Hard to say how well that would work but I think charging to vote could be a reasonable idea - another idea that could work would be to enforce some sort of "manual work" (such as solving a Captcha) for each vote (so you might be able to split up your funds into many accounts easily enough but you'd have to spend perhaps hours and hours solving Captchas to *use* those votes).

The more cost and effort to vote the less likely people are going to do it multiple times (imagine if you had to run or walk 10km per vote).

Yeah, I would say one vote per account with at least 10 Nxt and 1 Alias.
