1541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 18, 2013, 05:28:08 AM
I'm thinking about creating a kind of fund to finance services related to NXT but not through giveaways but through no interest loans. It was said here that initial stakeholders are not active enough. Probably most of them (just like me) wanted to just earn some BTC of it. Don;t get me wrong - I'm a libertarian guy but like to have sth in my pocket also. As time passes I see more and more potential in NXT but this potential needs to be shown to wider publicity. There are many talented and creative people here who could use such fund for making sth extraordinary and all would profit from it in long term.
I can't say how to solve trust problem here and not proposing any specific conditions of loans. It's just a loose proposition of crating such fund. What do you think about it?

I think here is a good place where anyone can post what he would like to donate on:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=2

Now we have got there:

Kisa
I'm willing to donate 10000, maybe more, to support development and promotion.
mripper
I'll contribute 500k Nxt on that. I'm not a block founder, but highly agree with you.  I don't think it will be possible until Jan when source code is release, but if CFB develops messaging as a feature, I'll just give it to him!
newname
Mripper has pledged 500k and I pledge 270k to the first developer that creates a decentralized messaging system based on the brain network...
Pouncer
I pledge 1M for software dev (any project)
Pouncer
I pledge 500K for realtime help desk (tech support)
Hash
"500K for android client with simple functionality:
- unlock account / see balance
- send / receive transactions

Follow the link on the right for details."
2X84
I am willing to pledge 5-10k in cold hard cash to a developer fund as soon as my Chase sends me a check as they have closed my accounts (they aren't crypto-currency friendly.) This check should arrive in under 15 days.
buybitcoinscanada
I'd like to pledge another 250k on top of the current 500k pledge (total 750k Nxt), for a fully working, easy to use, secure and bug free android client.

I've given over 200k to individuals already who I feel have done great work for Nxt.  Not to draw unwanted attention, but guys like nexern and ferment (just to name a couple) are working on some really great stuff.  Would be great if we can get organized with a fund for bounties and to continue ongoing projects.  I'd like to continue donating, but also get a better understanding if CFB is actually working on a messaging component, colored coins, etc.. It seems a little vague and perhaps he's waiting for others to step up after code release.  Also, I'm willing to donate another 500k to the developer of a working decentralized marketplace.

Don't bother. China is dead Bitcoin wise.

I don't think so, there are many people in China still holding BTC.  We have a pretty vibrant Nxt Chinese community.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 17, 2013, 10:17:13 PM
The market on this coin has already been cornered, so it's succeptible to market manipulation. The unknown developer could have sold the coins to himself at a high price in order to give it a high "market capitalization." He may make money off it, but the coin itself isn't going anywhere. This coin, however, is interesting in that it illustrates the absurdity in using market capitalization, monetary base, or whatever you want to call it, as a metric for crytocurrencies. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=373282.msg3993938#msg3993938

No one is using marketcap as a metric for success of Nxt, many were actually against listing on marketcap.  Furthermore, if you knew the history of the currency, you would know the developer (BCNext) isn't making $ off the coin.  Nxt is offering something very different in the crypto market, you will see this come Jan/Feb.

This is idiocy. Learn to use the search function and enter the words Market Capitalization. Check out the website http://coinmarketcap.com/.

It makes no difference whether the developer is making any money off the coin. The point is that your tiny market has already been cornered. Anyone who buys your coin is a fool.

Your coin is a poster boy for the trash that is polluting the cryptocurrency environment.

Yes, I realize Nxt is on marketcap, what I'm saying is that I, along with several Nxt users, don't believe in measuring Nxt success based on marketcap value at this moment.  Nxt will have a decentralized exchange, messaging, etc.. so there will be many transactions that go unrecorded anyways (which is the point).  Your opinion is just that, but I would disagree that Nxt is polluting the cryptomarket.  Every BTC fork is polluting the environment, Nxt is trying to create something new.  I think either way, we will know in a couple weeks how Nxt will pan out.

Haha, why do they even list Doge?  It's pretty hilarious if you read the thread.

Isn't Doge coin a joke?  Or am I mistaken.

@nexern  I support your client development, and I want to donate a little Nxt to you, but I can't find your account from http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt_client.txt .

Me too

Hey guys, nexern also developed the Nxt blockchain explorer, I donated to him a couple days ago, here is his account: http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=40 (bottom of page)

An afterthought comment in brackets is not enough. You need to clarify more strongly that its the address at the bottom of the page and NOT the actual address that the link brings you to, before someone destroys their Nxt by sending them to the Genesis address. THE ADDRESS AT THE LINK IS NOT HIS DONATION ADDRESS. Nexern's donation address is located at the bottom of the page.

Yikes, yes, it's the "donation" address at the bottom of the page.  Not sure why it linked to the genesis address in that URL, I just copied the homepage, sorry.

It's perfectly fine to be skeptical, but it's stupid to call it a scam coin.

Has anyone seen this fantastic Nxt video?

http://wideo.co/view/1302961386354824506-nxt

Nice vid!  Wideo makes making videos like that very easy, and the more we have, the better.  I say that semi-facetiously, since I've spent hours working on the wiki and forums this week, and would love to see even a small fraction of the 200K+ in donations Petrik got for this work.

I linked Petrik's video to the wiki.

UPDATE: Someone just dropped me 50K Nxt.  Really, really generous.  I'm going to turn around, though, and divvy it up between myself and a few other folks who have been working hard this week -- opticalcarrier, drexme, and pinarello.  Gonna spread the love, but thanks for sharing it, whoever you are.

Thank you, currently I am working on "NXT mining" video, I hope it will look much better Smiley

here in the Gdoc I shared on nextcoin.org I can now see:

If we combine these people and maybe add some english corrector, we could provide cool videos that would also be translated into many languages...

I would add nexern to the programming list, he created the Nxt. blockchain explorer and is currently working on the nde-client.

I think it's been pretty obvious that Miztaziggy missed out on the genesis block and he is now dedicated to trolling.

...  I also really like eMu (heavily invested)...
how did you manage that?

There is a pre-sale for beta members, but it's basically the same thing as the public sale which will open very soon.  As beta members we don't have any advantage.
1553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 14, 2013, 05:31:35 PM
OK I'll buy some on dgex.com.  Any other coins along the same lines as Nxt I might want to check out?

Nope, Nxt is the first to market, and will be light years ahead of anything else when it's launched.
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 14, 2013, 02:59:30 PM
when is Nxt going to be on exchanges like cryptsy or bter or stuff like that? or is there anybody working on the issue?
cos i have heard that dgex is barely functional and also, being in those bigger exchanges will clearly boost Nxt popularity.

Better questions is, when is Nxt itself going to be the exchange.  That is, when is colored coins going to hit the scene!?  We've been told in early Jan.  Is that still on target?

One guy is working hard to bring a client for NDE as early as possible (http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt_client.txt). U could help to bring it earlier if u donated some coins to him (he codes it during spare time).
Or u could develop alt-client for the exchange, I'll give u access to a server with enabled Colored Coins.

CFB, can you tell us how to get in touch with this guy, i.e. send him some Nxt or BTC?

DGEX is functioning well. Manually verifying and processing payments in a single man operation takes sometimes 24 hrs or so, usually a few minutes up to a few hours. More automation is on its way.

Deposits at DGEX seem to be coming in much faster now - it will be awesome when everything is fully automated.

Agreed, Dgex is much better now, but still need a more automated system, we have a couple weeks to get this done!  On a separate note, 0.3.19e is functioning very well for me.

Many trolls and  bashers here, meaning NXT is a threath,

the more of them the more I will buy.

This was always the best strategy in my trading days, won alot of money with that approach

This is telling me that NXT is on the right track.

Because till now I se not 1 good argument from the bashers

Time to buy in.

Lol good luck with that.

Ill be sure to PM you when it's proved it's a scam and eMunie takes off Smiley

Please PM me as well.  I know you have a special hatred of Nxt, for some reason or another, and that's perfectly fine, it's a free world.  I also really like eMu (heavily invested) and think it has incredible beta features, but the more I've used both, the more I realize how totally different they are.  eMu's inflationary model will never threaten BTC or Nxt, it will be very widely adopted as a way to move money, but never make money.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 14, 2013, 02:16:32 PM
I bought loads of BTC when it was at $2, and people were saying the same thing back then.  Nxt isn't even launched yet.

But all coins are distributed already. It makes a great difference.

Yes, but you have to look at it differently as a POS model (especially in this crypto hungry market).  Instead of buying equipment to mine coins, you buy Nxt.  Right now there seems to be a an unfair distribution to the block founders, however, that will be distributed in time.  Less than three weeks ago there were 71 people with Nxt, now there are over 1000, the founders will continue to sell as the demand grows (launch and opensource Jan 3rd).  The adoption of BTC was much slower.  Furthermore, there are several funds currently established for developers and new user giveaways.  When the decentralized exchange, messaging, and colored coin features are launched, the coin will have a huge user base.  I'm not a block founder, but I've acquired enough coins to mine effectively and help the community grow.  I was an early adopter of BTC and Nxt is the only thing to launch that actually interests me.
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 14, 2013, 05:57:32 AM
We desperately need a NXT generalized website (see bitcoin.org).

I'll pay for someone to create one for me, usd,btc or nxt.

I've taken the liberty of starting one but some things still need to be clarified IE: what is the actual name is it NXT, NextCoin or what.
No logo has been decided upon for the coin too.

I think general consensus is Nxt, no "coin" on the name or logo.  Coin is okay on domain names though (nextcoin.org for example)
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 14, 2013, 04:58:37 AM
Nxt is not a scam coin, I don't know why people think it is.  I bought loads of BTC when it was at $2, and people were saying the same thing back then.  Nxt isn't even launched yet.  Wait until the source code is available (Jan 3rd) and then you can make your claims.  miztaziggy is obviously angry that he wasn't a genesis block founder, otherwise every post of his would be praising Nxt.  Look how much effort he puts into discrediting Nxt, he obviously has some kind of agenda.
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 12, 2013, 03:37:20 PM
Some bright side:

84,829,673 NXT is total volume on dgex. Add to that at least 20 mil on forums. Over 10% maybe even 15% of total NXT in existence changed hands.

That's very good news, hope to see that double on launch!
