141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 20, 2023, 07:29:37 PM

If a person is a fan of a team, they will bet on their favorite team regardless of the outcome. In case of success, the fan will experience double joy both in the form of moral satisfaction and material reward. Here the statement "to be together with the team both in joy and in sorrow" will be true.

But this is not always the case. I see some gamblers who have made their bet against their team because they know that the opposite team is in better form than theirs. Some highly patriotic fans would not bet against their team but prefer to leave them out if they observe they are not tipped to win the opposite side because they know adding their team to their bet would make them lose totally. So it depends on an individual, not everyone is patriotic and fanatic to follow sheepishly to bet in favour of their club when they know they would lose the match.

We don't have to blindly gamble in support of our team when it is obvious that the match or game might not be in support of us. We are all going to win if we gamble responsibly and not allow something else to affect us. For us to make profits from betting, it is wise for us to gamble based on strategy and not based on our emotions. Emotion is not something that is going to help us for a long time to make profits from betting if we can not help ourselves controlling it. We can as well endeavor to bet in support of our team and win even when it looks like we might lose.

I am with you on this. Yes, we have our own favorite teams that we are all rooting for.
However, when it comes to betting, I also follow my instincts even if it is not my team.
Because at the end of the day, it is your money at stake. They don't care about your funds, whether you lose it or not.
So you can cheer on your favorite team but your bets may be on the opposite team. For me, that's more than understandable.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you remember when Twitch banned gambling? Now they allow nudity! on: December 19, 2023, 11:13:54 PM
Very easy, sex is very profitable.  Companies tend to look the other way when something becomes highly profitable for them.  Engagement on gambling probably didn't net them more views whereas nudity will.  Not that I agree with it but that's how capitalism usually works.  As long as there is money in it, it will be allowed

This will be a cash cow for this platform. That's a profitable move from them.
But it means, this medium needs parental guidance already, if not yet enforced.
That's business, so as long as the site is paying their dues, I believe authorities are looking the other way.
Or there are no complaints yet from the public, they will exhaust this business to get as much as they can here.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you take out your investment when in profit? on: December 19, 2023, 10:04:42 PM
A lot of my altcoins have pumped over the last month or so and it has got me wondering when the best time is to take out initial investment.

Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?
If you're Investing on bitcoin, the longer you keep your investment or hold them the better it becomes and you get more profitable in them, but if you're Investing on altcoins, then try as much as possible to ensure that you don't take much time on holding them because of the fear of the uncertainty demands, so when you're Investing on the right coin, you can hodl the more and the more your profits becomes alongside.

For alts, much better to sell it while you are still in profit. Don't wait too long because they can easily decline.
Check the progress of the project, and if there's nothing in it. Better sell it fast because the team behind it is just pocketing their money.
I can understand if you are holding btc, but for other alts, better assess your profitability on this fast.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 18, 2023, 11:55:55 PM
On the other hand, it's probably not so healthy to think about match fixing as a gambler that much because there's very little you can do to actually have recourse against it as a mere player, as match fixing is organized at a very high level.

If you have that kind of mindset better stay away from betting on those you think are fixed or rigged matches. As a sports bettor for a long and if you are a regular bettor of that match, I think you should somehow know or have an idea how to play well in that match regardless if there's a suspected fixed match or not. You can also take that as an advantage instead of a disadvantage.

In my own personal experience as a sports bettor, I only bet on popular league as even there's a chance of game fixing here, the organizers won't ruined their reputation for that as it's hard to earned people's trust and they are considered these leagues as business and they will protect it from any form of negative impression.

That is true, if you have been a sportsbettor of a specific sports, you will have an idea what's really going on with the game.
Better not to place your bet if your instincts is telling you something is off with the game.
You can spot some unusual stuffs if you are an avid follower of such sports. Such match fixing always happens under our noses.
145  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you still use Banks ? on: December 18, 2023, 11:48:45 PM
I prefer all my major or bulk of my  assets in cryptocurrency rather than save it as fiat in a bank In fact to make matter worst there is a growing high rate of inflation in my country thus saving my money in my local currency in the bank amount to losses in the long run instead I converted it to Bitcoin and hodl in a wallet I only sell bit via P2P if necessity warranted me to do so and get some fiat that is fiat needed for my daily upkeep is save in the bank, meanwhile I don't think I have any challenges with the safety of my Bitcoin with regards to whether the wallet can be hacked or not I have already put in place the necessary features to protect the wallet.

Every person has their own preference on how they will store their assets.
Some are really going all in into crypto, that is, if they are already in this market and have the knowledge on how things are going here.
But I believe, the majority of the population are still tied up with their banks one way or another.
And most crypto users here are still using banking services for so many reasons, such as mortgage, salary, remittance among others.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it Hold? BTC Targets $40,000 on: December 18, 2023, 11:23:57 PM
I don't know if it's advisable for someone to come with the agenda of buying more bitcoin this time around because I know quite well that bitcoin increase as it has reached up forty two thousand now either it will start depreciating in value again, I know quite well that bitcoin price is not something that we can say that the price will remain constant or the price will be fluctuating, it may reach tomorrow the price of bitcoin drops so its nice to understand that bitcoin price have to do without trust

If you have financial means and strong belief on btc market, you will continue to buy at your own accord.
Because you can't tell others not to because the price is more than 40k or it is being stagnant at this level.
There will always be buyers particularly those who are eyeing that btc will go up more than 50k in the days to come.
And also, the volatility factor of this market is a very good chance of gaining small profits even at a short period of time.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid a scam project? on: December 18, 2023, 10:35:45 PM
When you see a scam projects you can know them, but the problem with people is that some certain investors do get excited and also be curious whenever they see some of the investment, so therefore I believe cryptocurrency investment if you don't want to venture into the wrong investment you have to at most make a research concerning any projects that you want to establish with, I know quite well that cryptocurrency investment or any newly established projects required a proper investigation before someone can invest in such projects, its the newbies that doesn't ask questions before investing.

If you have been here long enough, you can easily spot a scam in the making project.
You will see that they are all pure talks and promises, but no tangible results is being presented.
Also, if you are serious in investing in a specific project, better do your own due diligence.
Because these scammers don't care about your funds as long as they can siphon it from your vaults.
And don't believe in hype, mostly they are just to attract attention of gullible users.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 10:58:37 AM
Since this is more like a survey I can give my little experiences. I'm a newbie in sport betting I don't go to the underdogs, I only bet on my favorites, and the odds are not usually high so basically go to top leagues and place my bet.

I don't even know what the handicap and underdogs mean because I'm never interested on such I just focus on the tops leagues especially basketball and football hence I bet on straight winning or any side can win that where usually win. so since I'm always winning with that any side can strategy I just stick to it and keep it going.

The OP can create a poll if this is a survey so we can easily get a glance about the users' sentiments here.
But in any case, there's a reason why a certain team is a heavy favorite/underdog. And that is for you to gauge on.
I won't give my exact answer on this, because it depends on athletes involved and what sports we are talking about.
But if I am very familiar with the players involved and know about their capabilities, I think I will bet even if they are underdog.
I will just follow my instincts on this one depending on the given situation. So no ultimate answer here I believe.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Passionate gambler keeps the gambling boards rolling even after retirements on: December 17, 2023, 10:43:38 AM
That's what actual enjoying to gamble is.

Kudos to that man for having that annual budget for everyone to have fun in the form of gambling. Now those people that have been generalizing gambling as something bad to everybody, they will not accept this gambling competition set by this man.

But if you're going to ask them to join so that they'll have a chance to win a motorcycle and all of those stuff that are included in that competition, well, they're quicker than The Flash to join, believe me.
This is indeed the perfect example that not all people who are engaging with gambling would really be that considered to be a gambling addict. Some of them are really just that playing for fun
and even do really think up on making some community gambling activities just to give out some giving back to community kind of vibe or really simply just to have some fun with other fellow community members and with his friends. It is really just that really good to look at that there are people who had been making some long time breaks but in the end they have come back and do the usual
stuff that he was been able to get used into.It is actually not really that a common thing that do happen for most bettors or gamblers whom you do see that they are really that responsible
about their gambling activities or dealing.

That person really did manage well his gambling life and now, he is giving back to his community.
At least in the form of entertainment and get together among his people.
I am guessing that person also has been financially stable and already set for his retirement years.
Because if you are not financially capable, I don't think you would think such initiative.
150  Economy / Gambling / Re: Welcome to 8ombard.com on: December 17, 2023, 10:23:22 AM
Actually, I don't understand what games are displayed on this site or I missed it, so for lay users like me, the site owner should prepare the game for demo practice when other people have to try it on the front page of the site without having to register, that would be very good. Again, since some people don't have to create an account first to make a deposit and play, if a demo game is provided on the front page as well for visitors it will also attract them to become regular users if it's fun.

But this is just a suggestion, everything comes back to the decision of the site owner, but it is really confusing, different from the casino games that I usually play, such as Dice, Limbo, Crash and several other games, it seems like this game provides a different challenge, so it is important for users. just got complete information, at least it gives access to lay users to try the game before registering, btw welcome to the forum

Hey Piebeyb, thanks for the welcome I hope you're well, to keep it simple, we are a custom game that isn't a copy from your usual dice, limbo or crash games. We have created this game from the ground up and have come up with the designs ourselves. We are currently getting a demo ready however to keep it simple, once you funded your account, you simply choose a bet amount and click a box, the box you have chosen will reveal a multiplier which will ultimately determine the outcome of your bet. We aim to keep it simple and unique, and have many plans on developing the game in the future to make it more enjoyable and beneficial for the player.

As many here don't know how this game works, why not offer free coins or play money to get the feel about this game?
But if the demo will be ready as soon as possible, then free play money may not be necessary.
Not all would want to deposit money to a game they are not familiar of. So better find a way to get their interest to try your game.
I believe if you will market or promote this right, you will get a good audience from forum gamblers as it is somewhat different from their usual games.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs worth millions of dollars were stolen just now on: December 17, 2023, 10:02:55 AM
so, who dares to buy a stolen NFT because there’s no sense in that. Unlike normal crypto tokens/coins, no one can tell your ETH from the other ETH. But this? what would they use it for?
If it was bid cheaper than floor then bots can bought it or some are probably not aware of the hacked. Or possibly some have bid offer to it and got accepted even though its not on their prefered price. If you are hacker then you thinking to liquidate it as much as possible its not like you hold them and wait for it to go up. So nfts being stolen are probably gonna drop in price. Im thinking high level nft like bored ape, and many more.

Definitely, these hackers already know how to liquidate such stolen NFTs.
Because if they are not seeing any value on this, why would they go such route of stealing?
Maybe they already got their bidder on this. Or better yet, they are just testing their hacking capabilities.
And more than likely, they have already next in mind which one will be their next target victim.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Know the Next PEPE on: December 17, 2023, 09:02:51 AM
If everyone or any influencer knew about projects like Shiba INU, PEPE before their rally then this project wouldn't be like that. People would have invested heavily in the dip and started shorting or selling their holdings around 10X to 15X. So such a rally won't be possible. All these projects got a community after the raise not before that and most of those who are supporting the project either got profit or their liquidity stuck in that project due to the correction. Investing in a meme project is like gambling. Very few projects will succeed when most of them will give you a loss.

It is like gambling as you don't know which one will be a hit or flop in the market.
Just like Shiba Inu, it started here like a crappy project based on their thread, but it gained traction later on.
Particularly when binance listed it in their exchange even without the team's application.
And now, their market cap is billion dollars of USD already. Who would have thought such fate?
Pepe is also in binance now. But not all meme projects can have such route.
Most are being shelved and forgotten in time. If you have no time to follow this type of project, better not to throw your funds into this market.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit on: December 17, 2023, 08:03:40 AM
...the next question is," how much have u earned", I was absolutely discourage as I remained mute till date.

There's a problem somewhere and that problem is that you do not know your purpose in this group. If I may ask, is you purpose here to earn merits? Secondly, people asking you how much merits you have earned do not also know their purpose here. Merits can be earned by crooks but that cannot be said about knowledge. If you look around, you will discover that there are some merit give away threads but there's no knowledge give away threads. In terms of earnings, there are three things you can earn;
  • First you earn knowledge
  • Your earned knowledge will help you make quality posts to earn merits
  • Your earned merits will enable you join signature campaign to earn bitcoin

Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit
Threads were something substantial is discussed and not a random thread like "I love Elon musk". There are also give away threads like that of fillippone if it's what you are asking about.

And to add here, I noticed when you created a thread in the scam accusations board with very valid proofs,
such as a new project having signs of potentially scamming their investors like fake profiles, fake address,
and other solid proofs that they are heading to screw people. The creator thread usually earns merit for exposing such fraud.
And in terms of earning merit, if you will chase earning one, you may get disappointed.
Just continue doing your work, be sincere about it, but don't expect someone will give you merit. It will come unexpectedly.
Remember, most merit sources are not active in giving merits.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally sold my computer and bought bitcoin. I don't regret . on: December 17, 2023, 05:53:55 AM
If you think that it is right then I'd say congratulations to you. As long as you are satisfied with that bud, then that's totally fine for you abd you do not need anyones confirmation if you did it right or wrong.

So do not say that you hope you did the right thing because in your title, you say that you dont regret.

In the first place, it is his money. So whatever he will do with it, is up to him.
So long he is not blaming anyone for walking that path of going into this market.
Also, I am hoping he has other gadgets to do his online transactions and others.
Because if you have other alternatives, that's not a problem at all.
The value of laptop can easily go down, but the potential of btc is quite high but risky.
155  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me the best online casino on: December 16, 2023, 11:25:24 PM
Did find your best online casino for playing ? Asking randomly like this will get a lot of suggestions, but it's better to keep the casino names mentioned repeatedly in the selection. But before investing, you should check yourself thoroughly and then make a deposit. Don't just go to them for gambling just for some suggestions with blindliness
I agree with you, alot of casinos have definitely been suggested to the op, and it's very important for him to atleast carry out some research before proceeding to deposit and play on which ever of the casino he choose, but then, I personally believe that, as long as the casinos suggested are ones already known on this forum, then there is nothing the op has to fear or be afraid of, because as of now, I believe that every casinos being promoted on this forum through our signatures are all legitimate and reputable casino.

So, any how it is, I personally believe that op will find the casino that suits him best, especially if he is able to find one that meets his lists criterias.

You have really said it well. Most casino been promoted here on the forum should be legit in terms of deposit and withdraw. The only thing the OP needs to do is to make research on those casino in terms of their policy ( terms an condition) to choose which one of them suit his/her purpose.

Also, he mentioned about pvp games, and I believe very few known reputable casinos here are offering such service.
PvP games in my opinion are hard to sustain, hence, they are not surviving long in this field.
But all the other items he mentioned can be found in most reputable casinos here.
Just read on their respective threads as well as the trust summary of their representative here and he's good to go.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 16, 2023, 10:44:35 PM
I recently had this thiught, that in many places the stakes for betting can be so high, that in many occasions it might be worth money wise for team bosses to fix a match result and still have enough to pay everyone involved instead of just playing fairly for a good clean win.
What have your experiences about this been? Is match fixing considered a common occurrence in leagues you place bets at?

Even as imaginary as it sounds, its still connected to reality. People have often stated concerns on how matches are either bought/sold or fixed, although there has not been an evidence as to physically seeing a match that is being sold, apart from suspicions and leads and corresponding actions of correction taken, I believe it happens often and many times than not.

If football is business then whatever pays can be applied, remember people need to be paid in order for the game to continue and the business running. If keeping the business means fixtures, I think it will be sustained even behind closed doors as the regulatory body frowns at it.

In my opinion, football is hard to fix because you can see their performance outside the field.
Also, like I've read here before, a local basketball league was caught about game fixing because of the obvious performance inside the ring.
Maybe, boxing is much easier as you are only talking about 2 fighters and they can easily make a good showdown without the audience knowing about it.
But I believe game fixing is still happening in so many forms but of course, it is hard to get hard evidence and that's the dilemma.
157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't give attention to unsolicited DM with link to claim a reward. on: December 16, 2023, 09:58:08 PM
This has been happening for a very long time and I don't think most of us who are well versed with online scams will even bother opening these messages but some might wonder if you are not a part of any telegram group then how did these scammer even get through your DM. There are lot of ways which scammers can use and we have even seen some scammers checking the bounty spreadsheet for telegram username and imposture themselves as admin and share such links where people often fall for scam. We need to understand that no one pays $10 or even $1 for free. If something is free then you are the product.
>
Many people have got their account hacked because they were easily tricked clicking on unsolicited messages with links making them to fall vulnerable to attackers from hackers. This is one of the things we need to be careful of when people send us links.
We need to be prepared to delete messages or block them if we find out that those messages are to be spam. Spam messages are easy to know and we don't have to waste time allowing them to keep coming to our dm. It is better we block those messages as soon as possible.

I can say, the telegram channel has a lot of scammers on the loose.
In my experience alone, some will just add you to their group or send unsolicited PM.
Better ignore them if you don't know any of them, and when it comes to telegram group, what i would usually do is block the group and report it as a spam.
I don't know how this social media is curbing their fraudulent issues but I believe, so much scam is happening in this platform.
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to learn about Bitcoin ? on: December 16, 2023, 09:28:42 PM
The first thing is to learn the terminologies of Bitcoin.  That is the basic things to do when you are starting to study Bitcoin.  The importance of learning terminology is that you will be not confused and can easily understand when the words are used.  You can have this site[1] as reference and study the definition of each term used in Bitcoin.

You can also try to watch simplified Bitcoin videos to educate yourself.  A simple search in Youtube can bring you lots of results, but I think anyone can understand Bitcoin more if they are able to identify the terms/words used and its definition.

[1] https://bitcoinmagazine.com/bitcoin-glossary

I hope the OP is not in a hurry to learn about this market, because he is thinking that he can get rich quick from knowing about it.
It is not an overnight task to learn all about btc, the terms alone would take time for him to grasp its meaning.
But in any case, he has this beginners section to roam around and read for himself. It is free to read anyway.
Also, if he really wants to experience how it feels to make the first btc transaction, better use spare amount of money, so if he made a mistake, he won't be regretting about this market.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: December 15, 2023, 11:53:40 PM
We should also be able to manage our finances well, I mean managing our finances for gambling and for our basic daily needs. Gambling with discipline can reduce the risk of loss, because with discipline a person will have limits in gambling so they will not gamble excessively, but no one knows those who have self-control or limits in gambling may change as the game progresses, because There are also those who have a target in gambling with limits but their motives change after being in the game. Also, everyone tends to change their minds under certain circumstances.

That's true, financial losses can be avoided with a set budget limit, but there's nothing wrong if they continue to gamble and are prepared for the risks that will occur. It doesn't matter, as long as you follow what you say and are prepared for the risks that occur. but if they deny what they say, then they are not committed to what they do.

If you can do that the chance of turning yourself to be addicted is slim, money management and the time that you spend during your gambling session will allow you to be responsible, it's tough but it is better than you feel sorry when the time of addiction already dominated, like how the doctors always saying, prevention is better than cure, playing with care and full responsibility will keep you away from exceeding and from losing a huge bunch of your finances.

I can agree with that, before you go into the brink of addiction, why not observe some practices that you think would help you in not going to this addiction stage?
It is hard if you are already too deep as getting out would take massive effort from your end.
And it is very difficult to battle yourself on this level. Unless, you have rock solid reason why the sudden change in your lifestyle.
But then don't trust too much yourself on this. Much better to be responsible while you are still early on this habit.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers claim $2 million in Bitcoin after stealing Insomniac game data on: December 15, 2023, 11:17:01 PM
To be honest, I am not even sure who would be interested in adquiring this data.
We are talking about the data of a video game developing studio, the only client which I think there would be interested in participating in this auction would be some other small or medium video game studios which wished to learn from a big studio like insomniac games.
Anyways,.if there is a reason to learn from all of it is that Sony Playstation has a lot to learn about cyber security, I believe this is the second huge data leak which Sony Playstation has suffered in this year.

Am I the only one who believes the price they are asking is exaggerated? That is the price tag I would expect to see for stuff like government confidential information, instead comercial information about video games.

I have the feeling that they are just indeed exaggerating and for sure they will only settle for much less if somebody will truly be interested on this.
I also don't think that's not worth that much to auction such game data in that amount.
Maybe they are trying to siphon money as much as they can, so they started their bid at a higher price.
Of course, in reality, they can even settle for less than $1M in cold cash. They are just making a publicity out of it also.
