1041  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with profitability on: March 16, 2023, 09:27:27 PM
That's what some people don't understand in trading strategies, it's better for someone to be making small amount than eyeing a larger amount of profit that it can't merit or catch, so therefore it's neither using one stone to kill two birds than not killing anyone with twelves stones, many people are greedy in trading and that's what makes them not make profit in trading due they are targeting ambiguous profit in each of their trading.
Not only that, traders are always looking for that one trade that will make them rich, an example of this are all the people that are always looking at altcoins in which to invest as they hope they skyrocket and they become rich in a matter of months, however someone which could achieve small profits each day for years could achieve similar results with a risk which is many times smaller, however this trading style is not favored as it takes time and discipline, two characteristics many traders lack.

But do remember, one mistake in trading and you can easily lose the small profits from your scalping.
So you also need to be ready for such situation. But if you found scalping to earn you daily profits, why not?
With the volatility factor of btc alone, as it goes up and down many times in a day, you can indeed make profit within the day.
This strategy for me is a tiring one as you need to look the charts like all day long. This is only good if you have no other job to attend to.

1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The journey of successful business man who were professional gamblers on: March 16, 2023, 08:56:44 PM
well, these business man can afford to play and probably they will not share a (huge) loss to public audience.
sake of curiosity, did anyone of these has been able to build a business just from revenue earned with gambling? if yes, how big was initial stake for betting Roll Eyes ?
Very common for us to see about these huge wins and stories of success out of gambling profits but its true that huge losses is unlikely or rarely to be shared up in public.
Of course they will really be that be focusing into those hits and it is really some sort of making themselves to be popular. It is true that we dont really even know
on how much they do honestly put up on building up the business and how much money they do put up in stake. We dont even know on how much
they had lost everall.

And those stories of large losses certainly will be a lot. And yes, a lot of them haven't been heard of.
For these successful people, they know how to handle themselves that made them survive in this business.
Because if you don't know where to channel your winnings, you will likely end up broke or bankrupt.
Definitely, they have had fair share of losses as well but once they got good winnings, they invested into something profitable outside of gambling.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europol Sezied 1909 BTC from "Chipmixer" on: March 15, 2023, 09:43:06 PM
That's really sad! But such risk was always there when Bestmixer was shut down by the same enforcement authority. It's quite unfortunate that a huge amount of fund was seized and apparantly there's no way to receive it back now if someone is not involved in criminal activities.

More and more mixing services are being targeted by the enforcement agencies since 2022 and multiple mixing services were shut down completely since then.

This is actually one of the sad stories I must have heard today and this was similar incidence that occured with Bestmixer and now it's chipmixer and I still wonder how government just comes from the blues and present some accusations without even giving a prior notice that's if they didn't give at all.
I also fear what the fate of other mixers would be because it now seems the government has placed mixers as targets and they're the very industry that is prone since tye source of their customers funds isn't mixers concern, and they also make it very difficult for government to track or monitor the financial activities of it's citizens and hence they're trying to bring down those mixing firms.

Before they came up with this move, I am pretty sure that the authorities already have done their homework.
I don't think they will be enforcing such seizure without basis because the company like Chipmixer can easily appeal with the verdict.
But right now, this is indeed a sad news for all of us. Chipmixer campaign is one of the long running campaign in this forum.
And certainly, this site has helped a lot of crypto users in preserving their privacy. However, the government is seeing this on the negative side which is laundering at one aspect.
Mixers should now be on the look out as they can possibly be the next target of their government.
1044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: March 15, 2023, 08:45:58 PM
Remember the first trading lesson you learned as a newbie? Did it come from a win or a loss?
You won't learn anything from your wins, sure that means you do the right thing or you're lucky in that day. But, if you are dealing with losses you can actually learn more about what makes you lost and how to prevent it to appear in your next session or activity in other day. Learning from failure is really important even top person out there are also dealing with big failures and losses in the past.

Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
I did. Didn't know a single thing about indicator, how to manage my emotions and etc. If I had kept winning then I wouldn't had been know about that and can't make myself to be a better person in general.

Losing in your trading journey will make you understand more what is going on in this market.
Because with each loss, you will try to decipher why you incurred such loss.
This will give you insights what are the contributing factors why you experienced such loss.
Next time, you will try to apply your learnings but don't expect that you will not encounter any loss because there will be other factors that may influence your trade.
1045  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a Morning Routine have any Effect as a Day Trader? on: March 14, 2023, 09:58:08 PM
Do you have a morning routine as a day trader?
I think when it comes to trading there's nothing as a routine especially if we're dealing here with 24/7 market condition. I do trade wherever, whenever, and however I wanted it. Yeah early bird catches the worm but as I said it's a 24/7 market so you can catch it whenever you want, depending on the market condition.

That's the advantage of crypto market, it is 24/7 where you can do your trading anytime, anywhere.
However, it depends on the person himself when he is most productive, just like the OP, he has routine before anything else.
That is true to other people, they need to do something first before they sit in front of their computer.
Otherwise, they can't focus or they feel something is missing, hence, they feel agitated while doing their work.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my small investment on: March 14, 2023, 09:37:52 PM
I bought a $14.55 bitcoin a few days ago when it was at 22k. Again Bitcoin came to 19k. However, I did not sell bitcoins. I was convinced that the price of Bitcoin would rise again. I buy $50 worth of bitcoins again. Got some profit on this small investment. Looking at Bitcoin 24k today. I will keep it for a long time and will not sell it now. I think at some point bitcoin will pump a lot

Since I can't invest more dollars, I don't have that much money. Still will invest as much as possible.

You can’t save and make more money, rather you make money from money (investments) only. This is a great example that how OP got little profit in small amount of time. Don’t worry about the amount. See the net profit percent you got from your investment. You set a good example for everyone, who just complains about Bitcoins downfall during the bear market. Bitcoins have the potential and we all know it. We just need to have patience and will power, definitely Bitcoins will go to the moon.

If you have the capability to invest even in small amounts, then, go for it, as long as you believe on this market.
Each one of us has target on why we are investing on certain things, and if you think you can get it, why not?
But the OP should remember to invest what he thinks he can afford to lose, because if he badly needs his money, he
may sell it even at a loss, depending on when he will dispose his btc holdings.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 13, 2023, 08:08:03 PM
Statistics will be nothing if old age catches up on Donaire.  This is one major reason why legendary boxers even though have better statistics losses to the young ones.  And one of the reasons why Manny Pacquiao won against Oscar Dela Hoya.

But Alejandro Santiago can't be considered to have the same performance level that can be considered currently in super prime.

Nonito Donaire also remains active fighting in the year and that shouldn't give him a rusty performance.

Santiago also doesn't have impressive wins against boxers at the same level as his prime. Donaire just experienced the toughest challenge in his career when he faced Inoue at 40 years old. At the same age, Donaire can surely handle Santiago without a doubt.
Making up some comparison in between their past fight performance, prime to prime then we could really be able to determine on which one is better but Donaire is getting old now
but i do agree on those words that he wouldnt really be giving out that rusty performance.Just like the rest been saying that this might be an easy fight for Donaire
but he shouldnt really be making himself that confident because chances of upsets could really still happen.

I somewhat agree, showing confidence will turn around the game. If Donaire still can't win the upcoming fight then it might be time that needs to hang up the gloves. But, overall this fight could be also hard for Donaire since Santiago is much a power-puncher and hoping he could stand on it.
lol , still the experience will decide the game and that will favor Donaire , yeah Santiago is a strong puncher but we have seen Nonito over the years beating strong hands because of His stamina and long lasting capacity in the ring.
so it is his advantage against this young boxer,

That's what we need to see in this upcoming fight, will Donaire still have the stamina to last 12 rounds?
I am rooting for Donaire here, as the experience itself will give him the advantage over his opponent.
However, we don't know if Donaire can still last long if the fight will go the distance.
If he is up to his game, he can last long. But even if his mind wants it but sometimes the body will show if he is indeed up for it.
But who knows, he can easily beat Santiago as this may be the last hurrah of his boxing career before retirement?
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 13, 2023, 06:11:48 PM
I wish I had this money that I could gamble I do not put more then $10 at a time because I cannot afford to lose any more. I do not know how people can risk their money when they could be using it for other things in their life. I could never put a bet of $600000 even if I had that money and would be willing to lose it I would go invest it into some thing else that would be safer. Gambling has too many variables and I think I would have bought Bitcoin with that money instead.

Every person has their own take when it comes to gambling. Some of these high rollers don't think about the amount.
Whereas, like you, I also don't bet big. I play from time to time just to pass the time, but I always set my limits.
Whenever I used that amount, I stop. Though I play to extend my games, but if I feel that I can't recover such losses, I call it a day already.
In this game, it is your own self who can only stop from playing. If you think you need to allot your money to important things, you can always do so.
It is hard to stop sometimes if you are already chasing losses. This is where some gamblers are getting addicted as they won't stop up until they totally used their bankroll.
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A costly gambling mistake on: March 13, 2023, 04:20:31 PM
This is not just a mistake made by new users of online casinos; it is a popular mistake made by the majority of both online casinos and other platforms, including crypto exchanges. We are always sometimes in a hurry to register on a platform, which in turn puts us at a higher risk. It's when the user is now experiencing some difficulty that he or she will have to contact support, which will quote the terms that they forgot to read.

I can remember using a site where I ignored the T&C; it was when I placed a withdrawal and it took almost 24 hours, but my withdrawal was still showing as "pending." That's when I went back to check, and I saw it was clearly stated that withdrawals take about 48 hours.

If we all take it upon ourselves to read through the T&C or TOS, whichever it may be, there will definitely be a lot of stress and funds saved.

Not only new users of these casinos, but even some long time players. As they registered without reading the ToS.
Most of the time, users will only go back to the ToS of the site whenever they encounter hiccups with their account.
But if you are depositing significant amount of money, always advisable to read the terms of the site.
It is not the fault of the site if you violated any of their terms, and accusing the site of being a scammer if the player can't get his withdrawals.
This is why when there's scam accusation towards the site, better read the whole story as sometimes it is not the site's mistake but the player himself.
1050  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans go to Mexico for medicals to cut costs. on: March 12, 2023, 09:53:34 PM
according to the research that I read the costs there are cheaper compared to America, have good quality and mostly why Americans go there because it's convenient

Maybe, if you have no health insurance, that's when your medical expenses will be expensive in the US.
Based from the kidnapping story, the woman was about to have a tummy tuck procedure.
Most health insurances I believe, do not cover such operation as it is categorized as cosmetic surgical procedure.
This is why maybe Mexico is considerably cheaper from their US counterparts. However, your safety is at risk.
We can't blame others to go to this path as they can really save a lot of dollars, however, think of your security also.
1051  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: March 12, 2023, 09:20:37 PM
Web 3.0 has become bait in the past months and that's because people don't fully understand the concept, as OP mentioned, it's supposed to be for decentralized projects, but when people run a project with their own token while holding more than 20% of the total tokens, that's fully centralized. And that just brings more confusion about the Web 3.0 projects.

So, we can call it high-quality bait to attract new users.
I still don't know why many casinos even the ones that do require KYC do claim to be a web3 casino. That is very confusing to me. Do web3 has anything to do with KYC? I thought is more of decentralized way of gambling without a centralized world. Things are easily moving and the change is becoming constant.

I also think so, why do online gambling sites do kyc, even though as we know crypto is anonymous,
here I am taking the positive side of KYC in gambling, maybe the site owner wants to know the members in detail, although it is possible that the government will take over the data when it knows that its people play a big role in online gambling

It is not about the owner wanting to know the members in detail, but if they are planning to have license,
they need to require KYC from the players. However, if there's no license yet, there's no reason for them to oblige their players.
Web 3.0 platforms should operate on what they are promoting, users connected to a decentralized network.
If they require KYC and at the same time proud to be a web 3.0 site, then, something is wrong with the situation.
They are not truly a web 3 site but trying to emulate its concept. Players should doubt their motive on this regard.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have failed too severely, time to give up? on: March 12, 2023, 08:36:08 PM
This is too troublesome if you joke with your client about bitcoin, they will not take paying in Bitcoin seriously, the best move in introducing Bitcoin for payment is to tell them about an option of paying less if they pay in Bitcoin.  I think that will make them interested.  @OP can even make a banner of a price list showing a discounted price if they pay in Bitcoin or make promotional ads about the idea.  The client will ask it themselves since I believe as a customer we always want to pay less as much as possible.
You can't just expect customers to come to your farm and you ask them to pay with bitcoin just like that, you have to introduce bitcoin to them in a friendly way first that was why I said the OP should introduce bitcoin to them jokingly.
Someone that those not know anything about bitcoin, even if you ask them to pay less if they are paying with bitcoin, they will still reject the offer even with the discount, they will prefer to pay with fiat currency without discount.
Farmers in my country are mostly in rural areas, and most of them know nothing about bitcoin, so even if you are going to introduce bitcoin to them, it will be a gradual process.

That is true, you can't just expect them to follow what you said especially if they don't know about bitcoin.
But you can always say or post in your farm that you accept bitcoin. It is up to the buyer if they will pay or not.
Now, if someone is interested but don't know how to transact, then, that's the time you will assist them how to use bitcoin.
But if not, don't force them to pay you with btc. Let them willingly do the act so they won't feel harassed.
Going into this market should be voluntarily and not because you are oblige from someone, it would be good if you are not being forced into this market.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fear of KYC requirements on: March 12, 2023, 06:36:26 PM
They will be accused of lying when they actually are asking KYC even when you just withdraw $****.  Casino's reputation will be at risk, you know how reputation can be tainted easily nowadays.

Almost all casinos today ask for KYC. If not they will ask for Phone authentication. I did try withdrawing just $70 worth of TRX from one casino recently and it's allowing me to do it but I have to confirm and enable my phone authentication which I'm also not willing since this is just a casino.

If you are not willing to comply with their requirements, it means, you are letting go of your funds also.
Most are asking KYC owed to their gambling license. However, some are still not requiring it if your deposit or withdrawal amount doesn't reach their max allowable limit.
I believe, if the casino has legit license, expect that they will ask KYC at any point. So you need to prepare for this situation.
However, if the casino has no license but requiring KYC, doubt their motive. High likely that they are scamming their users.
1054  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 12, 2023, 03:40:14 PM
Do you think AI will be more successful to get a working gambling strategy to win the house... and if they do, what will be the impact on casinos?
It's technically just numbers crunched down to the possible limit with certain algs used I think. It wouldn't be a guaranteed prediction, but it CAN at least imagine a scenario of who's winning against who based on said numbers. There are also matches that show more probability or heavily favor one side, so making a prediction through that much is easily doable for AI's as well. It can be successful imo, but it can also fail since sports isn't exactly just a straight-up yes/no type of game, things like comebacks, dark horses, and whatnot exist which is what makes watching sports enjoyable in the first place, and AI can't (at least for now) exactly add those kinds of factors in its prediction.

And to add, I don't think if ChatGPT has fixed it yet but it has that tendency to explain stuff in a way that looks "correct", but really isn't in some cases afaik.

AI has certain limitations when it comes to predicting sports events.
Other factors such as players' injuries, environmental conditions, or strategies may not be incorporated in their system.
If AI is giving the advantage to its players, these casinos and bookies may have already stop its operations due to possible bankruptcy.
But I believe, it is still far from happening as this AI system can only work to some extent, they maybe can predict but it depends on the database they have.
For now, it is not a threat yet to these gambling sites. The sites themselves will worry if they start seeing casinos going down owed to AI winnings.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trust in cryptocurrency? on: March 11, 2023, 09:41:39 PM
It will take a long time before people will become at home with Bitcoin and it usage, most people still don't know what Bitcoin is and how it works, but Bitcoin is quite popular among young people between 17-35 majority fall between 17 years and 25 years of age.

-Majoriry of the older folks dont have an interest in modern technologies due to lack of right information and education on the subject matters.

Or better yet, most older folks are just happy and contented with the traditional methods.
The adoption is increasing when it comes to crypto, however, most of them, still need the traditional way in daily living.
Just be grateful that the crypto market has emerged in our generation, don't aim for its full adoption.
Because I believe, we won't see that in our lifetime. Many will be knowledgeable, however, the traditional way of life will still remain.
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: what If Bitcoin Price never comes up on: March 11, 2023, 09:14:54 PM
As an investor, of course the main key to profit is to be patient to wait, as long as we can be patient then we will get profit, if we save on spot exchanges then the easiest thing is to sell at the price we like and let everything be achieved, don't sell when you lose or panic too quickly so that makes us regret. bitcoin is proven to skyrocket in the long run and in fact a fantastic upward trend occurs every 4 years.

If you are here long enough, you've seen a lot of roller coaster rides in the btc market alone.
Also, invest only if your instinct is saying that in the very near future, you can sell your holdings higher than your buying price.
If you don't believe on this market, better not to invest as you will only get stress while you are waiting for the right time.
Because if you have no strong belief on this market, you will only get disappointed on what may possibly happen to your funds.
If you think that the price won't rise in the coming years, so why are you trying to invest on this market?
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Gambling Legalization Reduce Gambling Rings? on: March 11, 2023, 08:40:34 PM
Do you think that there is a role that gambling legalization will play in reducing the activities of gambling rings?

Obviously, running a legal gambling operation will make business owners comfortable that everything is complying with the law. Easy also to market their service anywhere since nothing to hide shady things from the public. Legalization will also make way for these gambling operators to face some penalties if they do some sh*t to their clients and customers.

With the legalization of gambling, the government can take taxes from these gambling operators and be part of the country's revenue source.

Illegal activities can never be totally eliminated as there are always operators who don't want to comply with the law for selfish reasons but there is no doubt that the legalization of gambling will minimize and slow down their progress.

There will always be black market even if legalization will take place.
Because there are some people who still want to launder their money, and they won't play in the legal sites.
I believe, legalization will give the government a very good source of income, however, it won't stop from other people not to use the black market.
It may possibly reduce those who are operating under the table but it won't get rid of them. There will always be one organization that will operate away from government protocols.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to local communities/villagers on: March 11, 2023, 08:09:55 PM
Taking a Bitcoin class to educate others is a good thing to do out of having passion for others to have a means to learn about Bitcoin especially those in the rural setting but from what I can see on the pictures displayed by OP, am not convinced enough that this actually had to be a Bitcoin class because nothing here is showing or speaking about Bitcoin than the traditional dance held during on local community gathering, moreso much of this kind is getting too common from newbies these days.

Maybe, they have some extra fun during the class. We can't judge what truly happened in that session.
However, I am with the side of lovesmayfamilis, the OP is also a beginner himself. So he might give a different impression about the market.
Should be upfront that this market needs good understanding before they can start to trade. This may give them false hope of earning tons of money.
The OP should advice them to start small if they want to test the market. There's a lot to learn before they can truly earn something.
But let's say, this is a good start. Only few of them will push thru the actual trading. I hope the OP didn't give them the hope that this is their way out to poverty.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about stop gambling services issued by gambling platforms? on: March 10, 2023, 09:56:57 PM
For me, no one can stop it except yourself.
But if there is --it could be these services, counseling, self-exclusion programs, and limits on deposits and bets, and as we heard here, we have self-exclusion. While it may seem counterintuitive for a gambling platform to offer services that encourage users to gamble less, it can actually be a wise move in the long run. By promoting responsible gambling practices and providing resources for those who want to cut back or quit altogether, a company can build a reputation for being socially responsible and prioritize the well-being of its users.

That's the reality, only yourself can totally stop from this habit.
There is self-exclusion program already from casinos. I believe, that's the closest program that they can offer for the gambler to stop his addiction.
But I have read here in this forum, that some are still breaking their self-exclusion because they still try to log in on the site.
There's also a disclaimer about gambling responsibly on most sites, however, as you said, it is on the person himself how he will contain himself on this activity.
The gambling site has very limited action on this matter, they can only help a gambler to some extent, but the real work will be on the user himself.
1060  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is kyc verification dangerous? on: March 10, 2023, 09:30:15 PM

Of course KYC is dangerous. What happens when your identity gets stolen? Identity theft can be a devastating thing that happens to people everyday. Imagine someone you never met before taking a loan in your name? Really a bad situation to be in.

There needs to be a better alternative to KYC. One that cannot be faked and exploited like the current system.

I am sure that the solution is a blockchain one but until then, don't give strangers photos of your ID documents.

The reason why you only submit to platforms that are reputable and only to the platforms that you think will frequently use.
Just like in crypto-exchanges, you can submit in only one or two top exchanges so you can do your trading.
But all the small ones, better not to submit KYC. As much as possible, limit your submission of your KYC docs.
These sites are requiring KYC owed to their business license. Otherwise, if they are not legit and are requiring KYC, doubt their motive about it.
