1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A remark on casino bonuses on: March 10, 2023, 09:03:17 PM
Casinos can be vague at times, and I do agree that some of their adverts should really be redirected to the terms and conditions. For unregistered users of the platform, of course it's obvious that the casino would want you to register first or loging to view the bonus so that your curiosity can easily be converted to a deposit to chase the bonus. Pretty annoying for us players, but it works for the casinos obviously, so why change it?

That's their strategy for the users to register on their site, so they can take a look of those bonuses.
If you are not up to it, you can ask from other users, if they have thread on this forum.
But if not, don't register if you think not worth registering in the casino. Some are just clickbait as they have other requirements to fulfill.
Remember, these casinos won't give those bonuses for free. Most of the time, they have wagering requirements that's hard to achieve.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching teenagers about bitcoin. on: March 10, 2023, 08:35:12 PM
I like the idea of you introducing the concept of bitcoin to these young ones which will increase the awareness about bitcoin but I hope they didn't get the wrong idea of it as a quick get-rich scheme so as not to get the wrong perspective
That is a very important question and area for ops to concentrate on and as I said in my earlier comment, I emphasize on the need to build a knowledge base curriculum and teaching arrangement that will help the teenager make a better decision.

First before teaching them the investment aspect of Bitcoin,  ops should first make them realize the risk and better usage of Bitcoin which is an alternative currency.

I think that aspect is very important to highlight in educating these younger people.
Because they may have the idea that this market will give them false hope that they can get good money out of it.
Much better if he can share the reason why this new currency will be helpful in the payment sector.
Rather than focus on how to earn money via investing on this type of digital currency.
If he will go into the investment side, should be clear with the risks involved and the possibilities that may happen in a volatile market.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertisements: A big trigger to gambling addiction. on: March 08, 2023, 09:57:08 PM
Well, it's pretty difficult to really get rid of the targeted advertisements in the era we live in since almost everything that we do online is recorded and sold to advertising companies and they provide targeted ads for their clients targeting us as being the potential customers, so I really doubt if there can be a way to stop this unless a person stops using internet completely which doesn't sound like an option.

Almost everything these days work with the internet, and brands and businesses are doing advertisements online more often than in the last decade, the reason for that obviously is the rise of the internet and mobile usage among people from all interests and ages, and it provides them with an opportunity to promote their services and products more widely.

Your determination to stop will give you reason not to get tempted with these ads.
It is true that these pop ups will always be there so long you are connected to the internet.
If it pops up, don't watch, just click the x button at the top. Most are just misleading the user, showing mouth-watering bonuses.
It is on the person himself how he can stop those ads, because we are in the digital age already and you can't control those adverts.
1064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might reach $30,000 in the first half of 2023 and $50,000 in the second on: March 08, 2023, 09:31:24 PM
I'm calm and confident here but I also try to be a realist. 30 000 this year would satisfy me in full and it's perfectly reachable by the end of the year. I think that we'll have some bearish bias, like we have right now, possibly go back to 20 000 again and then get a new rally in 2-3 months that will finally breach 25 000 and take us towards 30s. Don't expect much more this year with the US rates so high.
There are high hopes for bitcoin price predictions in this year, I think someone is not saying anything unrealistic about reaching a high of $30k -$50k, it has indicated a high recovery since the beginning of this year and currently the market is having a low correction before going hitting another high in Q2, we expect no downside below $21k so the market will be easy to recover from in the months ahead. I am optimistic that the $50k price will be reached later this year as several points of recovery indications have been reviewed from the high gains earlier this year and will impact significantly to the next price recovery.

The $30k price level is not hard to attain in the coming months, but the 50k, we need positive news that will support this level.
If you have such prediction on btc price, it means right now, you are slowly accumulating satoshis, because the price is like a bargain.
Because anyone can speculate the btc price, but how they are preparing for it is the one that matters.
You can speculate all day long, if you are not doing anything, you will only regret when your speculated price finally happen.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 08:58:17 PM
Sorry for your mistake, man.

This is exactly why when I roll dices there, I set up the balance so it will show in USA Dollars instead Bitcoin. It is easier to set the wager that way, without committing these kinds of mistakes. I would recommend you to do the same in the future.  Smiley

Anyways, Cheer up.
These things happen and you will recover with time.

I have the same strategy, so I know how much exactly in dollars I am betting with.
It will give you quick look how much it is, because if it is in btc, you can't convert it easy in $.
Lesson learned, a week of work and gone in one wrong bet. I haven't experienced it yet, and hopefully not in the future.
I believe other gamblers have experienced the same. You should really be careful placing your bets especially if you put it in autobet, your bankroll will disappear in seconds.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 07, 2023, 09:56:52 PM
I'm expecting that to happen, so aside from the marketing these two fighters are already throwing
trash talks online so what more once they already facing each other in their presscon.

Let's see if how they will use this venue to attract more fans to support the upcoming fight and how they will bring or
add excitement with those below the belt trash talks.

This fight will not need a mega promotion tour from the promoters as this is one of the most awaited fights in this sport. Last time I've checked, this will be held in T-mobile arena in Vegas so tickets for this fight will be a bit expensive but hardcore boxing fans will still patronize this one because they knew that they will get their money's worth as both fighters are in their prime.

Trash talking and social media will definitely help a lot in promoting this fight though as Ryan Garcia is very good at it lol.

From the users here, Garcia is the underdog and I can understand such position.
If Garcia is not fully prepared on this upcoming fight, Davis can easily win on this match.
The venue is said to be at T-Mobile Arena, which they can possibly increase the price tickets given the size of this venue.
This event is more than a month from now, and based from crypto bookies, Davis is still the favorite.
1067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why does it have to be XRP? on: March 07, 2023, 09:38:21 PM
None whatsoever. People who go into XRP have no idea how the background of it works, if they knew exactly how it works then they would not invest into it at all, and if somehow they do know about it and STILL invest, then they are terrible investors.

People all around the world and all around online media warned everyone that it's not really a coin or a token, it's basically a way that one company moves money from one place to another and nothing more, and it makes the company richer, not you. If you still want to invest after knowing what type of shady thing it is used for, then I am sorry but you have absolutely no way of making money in the crypto world with that gullible approach.

Maybe it is the popularity per se that they have acquired throughout the years while they are having issues with SEC.
So some people want to get a hold of some XRP thinking that it has the possibility to go up once they resolved their problems.
I like XRP as the transfer fee is cheap and you can trade it in most trading platforms. But holding it long term is not advisable.
I think some traders have the notion that it will go up once they got away with SEC, but hard to trust as we don't know the plans of their team.
1068  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 06, 2023, 09:30:08 PM
I regret not to sell some tokens at the peak price last 2021. I lost about $300k unrealized profit and there is also another story. I have ever got decent amounts of money from participating in the ICO back 2018 and i used it all to buy real estate that's also my biggest mistake not saving at least some percent for the future hold. Crypto went crazy back 2021 and i might able to earn more than 10x from what i have sold in 2018. I only doubled it from my real estate investment which is a very bad profit.

Im now still stuck in my crypto investment. I dunno when i can get out from there. I just waiting for the price of bitcoin to recover back again to the 60k. That will enough for me to be honest.

Doubling your profit, I would say is not a bad profit. Considering that you have tangible asset which is real estate.
Most alts come and go and for me, what you did was a worthwhile investment going to real estate.
If you invested such amount in crypto, you have no assurance that you will get that 10x from that alt, what if the alt went down the drain before you can even sell your holdings?
Well, we have different perspective on things. Sometimes we can't see the value on what we have done. But don't get too hard on yourself.
1069  Economy / Gambling / Re: We NEED Bitcointalk Members Feedback on Casino Challenges! on: March 06, 2023, 08:21:27 PM
Do you enjoy participating in Casino Challenges? What do you like about them, and what could be improved? Are there any specific types of challenges or rewards that you would like to see?

Usually, the casino's will offer wagering tournaments and Challenges. They usually favor the casino because the more the people wager, more likely people will lose, which means it is a win for the casino.

I would like to see some challenges which are purely for the benefit of the people. One of the challenges could be to give some prizes to the people who deposit the most in a certain time interval. Another challenge can be to make most money by gambling again in specified time period.

The idea is to come up with something new which normally the casino never experimented. This will be a pleasant surprise to the players at punt site.

Even small prizes would do, but as you said, should be for the benefit of their players, small time or big time players.
A regular contest that will engage their players and will make them come back to the site again and again.
A weekly race contest such as achieving the highest multiplier or the lowest multiplier in crash, where they need to get the screenshot of their bet.
Or what other casino usually holds, the art contest. Not only the gamblers in the forum will engage on this activity but all users who have artistic skills.
This type of contest will create a noise like in this forum, and a decent reward will keep your users at bay as they will look forward for the event to happen again.
1070  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: March 06, 2023, 05:57:37 PM
We have experienced a bad period for almost 1.5 years, and many say that 2023 is a year of recovery to skyrocket again in the following year, if we look at the facts that happened in February, of course it is difficult to expect more in this month, maybe the price will be in $20k to $24k in the range, and if there are no hurdles like going bankrupt FTX and LUNA it might as well touch $25k.
It could be that 2023 is the year of recovery for the crypto market but we have to prepare ourselves if recovery cannot come to the crypto market this year. In March, we hope to see the bitcoin price increase again and followed by the altcoin market but that is still a mystery because the market situation is still uncertain until now.

And with the decline this weekend, it can increase the price next week. We all want to see the bitcoin price increase to $25k but if the market can't afford to increase to that price, we can't do anything either. But now I'm happy because I was able to increase my bitcoin amount at yesterday's price drop.

As no one can give you the exact price next week or next month down the road,
you are left to speculate on your own and follow your instincts when it comes to buying more satoshis.
Even if btc has more than decade long of existence in this market, still it is hard to predict its next price.
This aspect is what most traders are after for, as they can earn profits with this up and down movement.
However, do remember that this volatility factor will give you a stressful ride if you don't know how to handle this market.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 06, 2023, 05:08:40 PM
There is no amount of money that you have as a casino owner is bigger than the project itself. Even you have $900 billions, one lucky winner can just wipe everything plus the capital of the business away.
There must be maximum payout limit, this term is intended to limit the maximum payout for lucky gamblers' winnings.
I don't imagine any casino will pay gamblers winnings without any limit, that's impossible because you never know when someone's luck wipes out your entire business bankroll.

So don't think that because you have enough money so can just invest on online casino.
The casino business is indeed lucrative, but achieving success is not as easy as one might imagine. There is a risk of failure, because this industry is quite competitive. However, you shouldn't be too paranoid about failure because it only makes it difficult for you to grow. I'm not talking about you, but this is meant for anyone else who has a wish.
Thank you very much for your input, I was going to respond to Agbe but you already made the point I wanted to make, and that is the fact that every online casinos i currently know of, including stake which is one of the biggest casinos, all have a limit amount to which a gambler can win, it doesn't matter how much the gambler wants to. Wager, if the amount the gambler is going to win is above the casinos winning limit, the gambler will be notified and such bet will not be processed, it is something I've experienced myself, so I believe a lot of gamblers can bear witness to this.

And again, I am someone who believe that the fear of failure is the beginning of failure itself, what we tend to fear the most is what somehow, find their way into our lives, this is why I am not skeptical in any way about starting a gambling casino if I really decide to, and have more than enough money to make it big.

At the end of the day, it is your own decision where you want to go in life.
You can get all those pieces of advice or suggestions on what to do, but you are the only one  who truly know the capability of doing something.
But it is good to read all those inputs because somehow it will enlighten you on something you may haven't consider of.
And if you are serious about on any venture, no one can stop you from exploring it, so long you don't give up with your ambitions in life.
And do take note that you've been in this forum long enough, to see how casinos and other gambling sites survive throughout the years, browsing their threads and all.
1072  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: March 05, 2023, 09:58:24 PM
The investment hope is of course profit, if we look at the bitcoin investment record it will be difficult to hope for profit in the short term, it doesn't matter if we want to invest around 60% of the total assets we have, as long as we don't panic and hold for at least 3 years then we have a chance to earn big profits.
I think it's too risky. It's great to invest in bitcoin but 60 percent of your savings is obviously quite large. Even though it is indeed very good, we also have to pay attention to the conditions in which we live and still need funds for it. I think we have to realize that good financial management will not make choices by placing big risks, at least we have to think about situations where we can be unexpected. Investing for the long term and placing the meaning is clear that we cannot make any steps arbitrarily because this is related to the funds we have.

The OP mentioned he can't bear 100% loss, that I can say, he won't suffer such.
Because as we have seen, thousands of alts come and go and yet, bitcoin still remains on top of its position.
However, allotting 60% is quite large in my opinion also. He needs to assess his financial situation if he can afford long-term investment.
But if he has urgent needs in the next couple of months or so, he better re-evaluate how much he needs to put in btc.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Privacy, Mixers on: March 05, 2023, 09:38:51 PM
I think it's a bit of a red flag that they pay so much here to advertise and yet it's operated by donations. That doesn't smell right to me. There must be some other form of revenue that they are receiving, or a motive that is not monetary. Unless, you are right and it is simply that the service is useful to whales and that they tip highly.
I don't know if whales tip generously. However, I do know that:

  • There are organizations that survive solely from donations (e.g., Wikipedia, Linux).
  • ChipMixer might be a big whale themselves, and usage of their own mixer, which eliminates trust, might be an invaluable product.

I believe they survive in this industry because of the fees collected from their users themselves.
If they are not generating income, then, why did they set-up their business in the first place?
In every business, the main target is always to be on the positive side rather than on the negative side.
I don't think this kind of business is relying on donations, the mixing itself with fees should give them profits to survive.
And with their profits, it is possible that they have other business ventures that people don't know about.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 05, 2023, 09:06:51 PM
Some people do not agree with the scorecards, as it seems like the gap is very big. Too bad for Magsayo, as he got deducted twice for score violations, but overall, his performance was not convincing, and Figueroa deserves to win. Magsayo needs to train more and probably change his boxing style, as his career is slowly going down.
I was shouting at my television while watching it. For Magsayo to stay in the distance while Figueroa is trying to close the gap. Magsayo is winning at his own range, the jabs are going in, and the combos are also sinking in the face of Figueroa. If he only listened to his coach when he said he should go for 3 punches and then go out then he might be the winner of that fight.
Brandon had a difficult time reaching him, but he got Magsayo to fight the close range and he fell for it.
I don't think it's the training, it's the listening that he should practice.

I do not agree with the scorecards too but I know he lost that fight after the 2 points were deducted. I gave him 4 of the first 6 rounds but the rest of it is either on Figueroa's or a tie. Stamina is a big issue for him and it's not surprising anymore.

They will review the fight for sure, and maybe Magsayo will realize his shortcomings for not listening to his coach.
For his next fight, he should really be prepared and should start by meeting the required weight of the division.
That lucky punch won't work all the time, so they should have a better approach on the next one.
Otherwise, if he will lose again, I don't know where his career is heading to. On this match, bookies were right this time.
I was also thinking that scorecards are not that wide but here, you can say, Figueroa clearly won this fight.
1075  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 05, 2023, 08:37:40 PM
We can already give posiive or negative trust to casino announcements and talk under those threads about any issues. That's the way i am checking if the casino i am putting money in is any trustworthy.
I can't see any value building ranking or review system and don't see that serving anything new except maybe possible vote manipulation and vote spamming for money.

That is right. If you are already in the forum, one way is to check the trust summary of their representative in this forum.
You can validate if the feedback is valid or not by checking the reference link of each feedback.
Because some complaints are just to troll a given casino, and you will know if they are just ruining the image of the casino by checking their proofs.
As you said, anyone can just browse their thread and see for themselves what's going on with the site.
There are also few casino/bookie ranking site and reviews that are for me worth to take a look at that you can also find in the gambling section.
As many users are already promoting casinos, it may really be a spam thread if we will create another one specific for this topic.
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 05, 2023, 06:59:09 PM
So my question now is that can someone use gambling as a means of earning living?
yes, someone can use gambling as a means to earn for a living, but it is not for everyone. you might see people earning for a living through gambling but they are just a very small percentage among all the people who tries to earn for living through gambling. if you are planning on trying to earn through gambling, I suggest yo think it through.

These gamblers can be found more on sports betting or poker player game.
I believe there are gamblers from these games that are really earning for a living.
Those games which require skills, knowledge and experience, have the chance to earn decently.
But if you are talking about gamblers who are only playing luck-based games, I don't think they can rely their gambling activities to earn for a living.
If you are into casino classics, don't expect that you will survive on these games in the long run, more than likely, you will lose your funds if you don't know when to stop.

1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going to make mma predictions blog (for gamblers) on: March 04, 2023, 09:59:16 PM
Any update on the blog though? has it been created by the OP.

It's interesting to follow though and maybe see his prediction and perhaps follow some on them. The OP has history of big wins and losses as well and that's why his prediction could be a hit or miss. But still though, he might gain some followers in his blogs specially if he will have a good batting average for his MMA predictions.
Waiting as well for the update of OP but it looks like he is not active for almost a month now, maybe he’s too busy with his blog or didn’t push this one. Its good to read some opinions about MMA predictions because it can help you decide on where to place a bet and help you analyze the matches, if OP made a good profit in betting then it can be a big boost to his trust unfortunately his trust is already damage.

Red Trust could mean he is not pursuing this anymore as his very audience could be coming from this forum. But I must admit there are many gamblers that might just read his input to some interesting fights to see if they can make a bet.

Everyone has something to say to every fight but if a person could point out the advantages and someone can predict what will happen in the cage, it really is an interesting blog to read. Although a youtube vlog will be much better to watch.

We can't disregard the fact that some people are good in predicting some sports, especially if that is his forte.
However, it is yet to be seen how good he is if he will indeed post his predictions before the match happens.
The OP's red trust is regarding ban evasion, but if he can make good predictions based on his reasonings, he can get an audience here.
But if his reasonings are shallow and no valid input, people will just ignore his predictions.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 04, 2023, 09:09:47 PM
Good for him but I'd say not good enough because that's already a sign that in the next coming fights, his weight will start to add up and probably won't make the desired weight even if they will force it. After the fight, whether if it's a win or lose, they should start to consider some things like moving up to the next weight class so that they can avoid wasting some precious times.

I hope that the incident of too much weight will be taken note of in the future fight of Magsayo.

Almost a 1 pound increase to the required catchweight is not good. It's not also a good idea to just moved up weight since he will meet Foster there who beat the one who take the title from him, Rey Vargas. If he can't able to match with Vargas, then no room for him to face Foster at 130.

Anyways, before talking with the moved-up, let's wait for the result first of this match between Magsayo and Figueroa.

Few more hours and we will witness if Magsayo can indeed beat Figueroa. The odds are good if you bet on him.
The weight issues should not be there in the first place, so now, wondering how Magsayo's camp is prepared for this fight?
Is this their strategy or Magsayo couldn't really get the required weight in the first weigh in?
Time to see how he will perform on this fight, if he really needs to move up weight to accommodate the comfort zone of his body.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 04, 2023, 08:41:11 PM
~snip~

If you made a billion dollars or even more, as someone who love gambling/betting and have been doing this on several other casinos for many years now, would you rather start your own casino?
Or would you prefer to keep gambling, doing your sports betting on other casinos even when you know you have more than enough money to start your own casinos and make the casino as big as you want it to be??

Inputs are greatly appreciated.
^ That is a huge sum to start with and I think even a million dollars could become a start of a business.
But put in mind that running a successful casino requires a lot of expertise, resources, and effort, and it can also be a high-risk venture.
If you continue to gamble or bet on other casinos can be a more straightforward and less risky option. With a billion dollars or more, a person could potentially place very high bets and make significant profits without the added stress and responsibilities of owning a casino but if you cannot manage it well, it boils down again to zero. So the decision would depend on the individual's priorities and goals. Some people probably find the challenge and excitement of running a casino worth the effort and risks, while others probably prefer to focus on their gambling and enjoy the benefits of their wealth without the added stress of running a business. For me, I will choose to keep gamble for less responsibility.

You can't run solo when running an online casino. Take note that you can have all the money but are you ready for other areas you need to take care of?
Such as technical support, security, licensing and other aspect of the site to make it in the competition. Do you think you can find other people that are capable of these areas?
Do you also think you can handle the stress brought about by daily operations, it doesn't stop on day one when you launch the site, but it is continuous
process of improvement, innovation on your site to compete with other casinos? Are you up for this challenge?
If you think you already cover all the areas in running a casino and you feel confident about it, then, maybe try running your own site and see where it will bring you.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Experience on Bulk Bankroll vs Partial Bankroll on: March 03, 2023, 08:15:29 PM
What truly matters is that you find your own strategy and know what truly works for you and I'm sure you already know what to do from your writings already.
I think the first approach is chasing after losses and to the best of my knowledge, those who indulge in chasing after losses always end up blowing up their accounts and I think it very act can easily be controlled when people learn not to chase after losses and have a limit for gambling.

Just as you said about the second approach, I think you should stick to the second approach despite it being slow, it is better it is slow and steady rather than rushing to just end up blowing up your account.

It seems that the OP already found his strategy to earn profit. But I think, it will not be the case all the time.
You can't guarantee that you will always go home as a winner by using small bankroll.
But if he thinks, he's in control with smaller bankroll, then use it to his own advantage.
Whether big or small bankroll, if you don't know when to stop, I believe, you will go home as a loser.
Patience is also needed when you are playing small, as it would take a lot of bets before you will see a lil bit of profit.
