1081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robbery that attacks Bitcoin Holders on: March 03, 2023, 07:39:49 PM
It was quite sad when the robbery occurred on the Indonesian island of Bali, and I, as an Indonesian citizen, also strongly condemned this incident.
The robbery may have been premeditated because the robbers knew the Russian had a lot of bitcoins. $284,000 is not a small amount and the bitcoin holder was too careless to publish that he owns a lot of bitcoins. moreover, he left his seed phrase on the smartphone. If you really want to go on vacation, you should be prepared with fiat money and you don't need to carry spare seed phrases to other places, especially places that are quite prone to robbery.
this can be an important lesson that quite a lot of bitcoin ownership will endanger the owner when people already know and will become the target of crime to seize these bitcoin assets.

He may have something to his blog articles about his bitcoin involvement as he is a blogger.
I am sure, these perpetrators have read his blog, the reason why they have idea about his bitcoin holdings.
If you don't want to be a target of any fraudster, better keep your crypto involvement within yourself.
There's no need for everyone to know that you are in this market. It is easier to safeguard your privacy if no one knows you are in this market.
Remember, anywhere you go, even if it is the safest place in the world, there will always be scammers or persons with evil minds.
1082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: From this you can be accurate 85% of the time on: March 02, 2023, 09:59:08 PM
No offense mate, but if you can manage to be right 85% of the time on a long-term time frame, then you should be a billionaire by now. It might've worked in a short-term time frame, but don't immediately get too cocky that it will work well in a long-term time frame.

Yes, and he wouldn't be wasting his time here, showing us that his system works. If it did work, apart from being a billionaire, he wouldn't be interested in a lot of people knowing about it because trading is not a static thing, if people found out it was a good system and they all started doing the same thing, it would stop working, assuming it worked in the long run. Most traders lose money and it is because they think they have found systems that work like this, until they lose it all.

Exactly! IF that strategy works all the time for him, he would have no more time posting in the forum.
Also, most traders won't share the strategy if they are indeed doing good with their trades.
They will amass profits and live the life they want for themselves. So not really buying such strategy.
It may have worked for him one or few times, but it doesn't mean, it will always work for him.
As mk4 said, don't get too cocky as it may not work in a long-term time frame.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 02, 2023, 09:38:03 PM
Coming from Figueroa this has the making of a fight of the year
Quote
“I think me and Mark Magsayo will be another fight of the year candidate – a firefight. We’re both explosive fighters and powerful hitters, and I feel that it will be a very interesting night.

“I think the fans will be the winners because Magsayo doesn’t back down and I don’t back down. We’re going to give it all in the ring.”
https://www.ringnews24.com/2023/03/02/brandon-figueroa-and-mark-magsayo-fight-for-world-title-shot-on-saturday/

There's so much expectation for this fight because we all know in boxing style makes a fight and we have two fighters with the same style of boxing and that is moving forward and slugging it out, it all comes down to preparation and who wants it the most, only one day to go I hope both fighters makes the weight I'm sure they both will

We will see if they are true to their words. And show a toe-to-toe fight for their fans.
For those who are rooting for Magsayo, better place your bets as it is 3.x, a good one if you will win on this bet.
Bookies are favoring Figueroa to win, but who knows an upset will happen as Magsayo is not an easy opponent.
Magsayo has the motivation to raise the flag of his country again, so he won't back down so long he can continue inside the ring.
1084  Economy / Economics / Re: DCG - Parent Company to CoinDesk registers loss of $1.1Billion in 2022 on: March 02, 2023, 09:06:25 PM
Notably, last year was very bad for various big and small organization. Does it going to be worst in the crypto space or will it be all over soon?
I would guess so, after all they are in the crypto world and 2022 was a very bloody year for all of us. I have lost some money too, well technically haven't lost it, it's there, as long as the price recovers eventually but we all did. Only people who made profit during 2022 were the people who shorted at the right times, hell even some of them lost money if they shorted at the right times.

So all in all, this 1.1 billion is normal for a company that size, they have huge operational costs too, and they are lucky to be not bankrupted at this point. Best thing to do would be keeping it live as much as they can and make a profit when the price goes up again.

Yes, if they will shutdown their business now, they won't recover those losses.
That is right, with big company like them, expect that losses will be in millions to billions of dollars.
But with such huge losses, they are still standing, it means, they have more assets to back up their company.
It is only a matter of time before they can recover such loss. But in any case, don't know what they really wanted to convey why they are disclosing such billion losses.

Does Freebitco really isn’t asking for KYC? They do not have any history of asking for that?
Anyways, if that’s the case, I think most licensed casinos still has the rights to ask their customers to process KYC, especially if they are suspecting something to your account..
as far as i know freebitco.in has never asked their users for KYC, because there is only a dice roll game there so since they launched their site until now they have not asked their users to complete KYC.

But I agree with you, usually when the site suspects the user will usually be asked to do KYC, so far I can still withdraw money without KYC at some casinos, as long as I play well and don't cheat I feel safe playing without KYC or if I uncomfortable with KYC regulations, well, just look for a decentralized casino without KYC, back again to the choice

How freebitco is operating is a testament that one casino can still operate a credible gambling site even without the license.
It is years of business why they are still here and people are still playing on their site because they have no trouble with their gamblers.
But with the introduction of new casinos, license is like a must for them to compete with the existing market.
People will have better approach if they see that the casino took care about their licensing aspect, but definitely, it doesn't stop there when it comes to promoting their site.
1086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing to invest on bitcoin but having some challenges. on: March 01, 2023, 08:52:41 PM
How have you been making money so far? If you can earn through work, you can set aside a small amount of your salary to buy bitcoins when you are off the island, in places that provide internet, or at your friend's house.

This is a challenge for you and I'm sure you can try to beat that challenge to get a better future. Don't make this an obstacle; instead, this is the path you must go through because the process is like this. Keep believing that you can, even though there are challenges like this.

The OP has the notion that entering in bitcoin market will give him wealth.
It may be true, but it would take patience how to understand the market to take advantage of this technology.
He should read more why some people are getting rich. It also depends on the entry and exit points of the user.
I hope he won't start investing on tokens that are promising high returns. As a beginner, he should stick with btc for now.
And learn how the market is performing so he knows what kind of strategy he can apply to get those profits.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: February 28, 2023, 09:43:36 PM
I think a lot of people likely lost money on the Jake Paul loss.  I lost a bit.  Nothing I care about, but nobody likes to lose, right?

As for Drake losing $400K, I doubt that matters at all to him.  Likely he's betting with house money from his advertising deal anyway so I honestly don't think he cares even a little bit.

The big winner of the night remains Jake Paul though...  They're saying he's going to take home $30,000,000.00 for his role in the fight, while Tommy is expected to earn about 1/4 of that.  I'm guessing they'll do a rematch, unless Tommy decided to fight KSI instead.  In any rematch I would expect to see Tommy get a bigger cut of the prize, as he's showed he is now the better fighter.
Likely the correct analysis here. I was talking with a buddy of mine and he is thinking this is going to be a big money grab for both fighters. They will have a Paul vs Fury 2 where Paul will win and set up a 3rd fight for huge money. I have no clue if he is correct, but it makes sense.

Many were indeed were rooting for Jake Paul in that match as he had no loss yet at that time.
However, he was fighting a Tommy Fury who is a professional boxer, so there's no surprise if Paul lost to him.
A re-match would be a good money making event, so yes, definitely both camps will push thru the re-match.
But don't know if there will be trilogy for this, let's see first the second bout and let's go from there.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you say about this investment plan on: February 28, 2023, 07:17:01 PM
These type of questions do not really matter all that much. Why? Because it doesn't matter what type of investment it is, is it a token, is it a coin, is it yield farming, is it nft, is it staking? None of those matter at all, they are totally useless and worthless when you look at just "how" part of it. What matters is how good the project itself is, because if it is good, then it is good in any possible way, if it is bad then ti is bad in any method. Ther are good staking defi projects with its own stablecoin, there are bad ones, its not going to be good or bad just because of its own stablecoin, that alone doesn't give us any hint at all.

That is right, no matter what kind of investments you will venture into, you always need to do your own due diligence.
It doesn't matter if the DeFi platform has their own stable coin, the question is, how well do you know the project itself?
From my observation, it is indeed difficult to trust any DeFi platform particularly the new ones.
I was interested before also in staking some of the DeFi tokens before, but decided to sell off and not go with this investment route again.
You are always worried if when you wake up it is still trading in the market or it has still value, so don't want to go thru such stress.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: Did the Bitcoin Maimi conference 2022 contribute to Bitcoin price. on: February 28, 2023, 05:52:42 PM
I agree that it is old news by this point, and I think 30k people in Miami just for crypto was also a bit of a success of the Mayor as well. He is famously a pro-bitcoin person and helped with everything from licenses to basically all kinds of help they may need, even arranged frequent busses as well.

So all in all, this was a success but it wasn't the cause of this recent increase in price, couldn't be because it's different time periods and I would guess that a conference in Miami, no matter how good it was, wouldn't be really that much of a big deal, it would be something a bit less interesting in the long run and would not be a reason for bitcoin to go up.

I also don't think that this conference has something to do with the increase of bitcoin price.
That's a long time ago when you talk about the influence of this activity to the current market performance.
The event may be a success, but it doesn't mean it has direct impact with the supply and demand of the btc market.
It may possibly increase the number of crypto users, but we can't conclude that it has significant effect on bitcoin's price.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Solcasino🎲 Discussion thread on: February 27, 2023, 06:16:00 PM
I have never seen this casino before but have heard from my friends out there who once bet on Solcasino.
but in my opinion, even though I haven't tried betting at this casino, I'm a little interested in trying to test a small amount of betting at Solcasino. because the first time I entered on the site I was immediately attracted by the simple but very good appearance.
even though previously I very rarely or almost never bet using altcoins like Solana and used bitcoin more often.
but with this site, my heart felt interested in immediately testing some of the slot games on the site.

As we can see, this casino put a lot of effort to make this site as professional as they want to be.
Also, they are offering pvp poker game, so this is good for poker players out there.
They also have wide range of accepted tokens, however, based from their list of accepted tokens,
wonder if it is still updated as the tokens's list is as of 1/31/22. Maybe the team can revisit this link
and check if it is still the same or there are additional tokens on the list.

1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: February 27, 2023, 03:28:29 PM
If you were absolutely sure in certain that the outcome of a soccer match was a 100% win, then you could bet as much money as you wanted to. But it is worth noting that no outcome in sports is ever completely guaranteed, so it is important to be cautious when making bets.
Everything is on the TOS and before we use any sportsbooks, it is good if we read first the terms because everything was there stated including the limits on the sportsbook [withdrawal, deposit, and of course the terms on placing bet]. You would need to research the various bookmakers and find ones that accept large bets without raising suspicions --or another option is also worth considering spreading your bets across multiple bookmakers to avoid drawing attention, splitting the big amount on different sportsbooks.

But only use reputable sportsbooks. Some bookies won't pay your big winnings because of so many reasons.
And it is true that if you will bet millions of dollars, or even hundred thousand of dollars, it may really raise flags on the site.
They may further investigate your account, and for sure some would find some loopholes not to pay your winnings.
So for me, better stay in your regular range of bets on the bookie you usually use, but don't bet on a site first time with your big bets.
It is better to get your winnings without any trouble rather than winning millions of dollars but can't get it out from the bookie.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 27, 2023, 11:37:31 AM
A big win by Tommy Fury, I believe he was dominant in most rounds. If there was no knockdown in the last round, I don't think the decision would have been a split decision. Anyway, regardless of the decision, what matters is that Jake Paul has finally found a good match and is no longer undefeated. This fight deserves a rematch because it was fun to watch, and I'm sure that Tommy Fury would accept it because he wants to prove to everyone that he can dominate Jake Paul.

By the way, do you know how much they made from this fight? Is their earnings public?

Based from this article -
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/jake-paul-vs-tommy-fury-purse-salaries-2023-fight/yxww1azqknwp5hkoudfsjnhj

Jake Paul will get a guaranteed purse of $3.2M plus ppv earnings so approx $8.6M.
Whereas, Fury can get a total of $4.5M. Now that Fury won this match, I believe, Fury will get the bigger split come this rematch.
The percentage may reverse next time, 35-65% in PPV earnings in favor of Fury.
This earnings is really not bad, much much higher than most professional boxers.
Paul was saying he was sick twice and injured his arm, but not making excuses. So let's see how the rematch will pan out.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 26, 2023, 09:57:59 PM
The need for safe guarding our crypto assets cannot be overemphasised. It's best to be weary of the possibilities of hackers taking advantage of loopholes and strive to ensure that due care is taken to safe guard your assets. The suggestions by the OP is quite helpful but not exhaustive.
This has been the best option to secure your wallet, but of course hackers can still find a way so if you are not being careful with your holdings, you might fall on their trap and becomes a victim. Protecting our crypto is a must, you have to use every resources that you can have just to be more safe and not waste all your sacrifices, going offline can also be a good option, don’t over exposed online.

As you have mentioned about going offline, I can also add that as much as possible, don't disclose your activities in social media.
With the generation today, a lot of them are posting every step of their lives in social media not knowing that their privacy is already exposed.
These scammers know who to hunt, and usually they can get their victims via online, what they are reading from these people.
So for me, not only offline wallets but also be discreet with your activities. There's no reason for you to publish that you have satoshis.
Unless, you want to boast it to the world that you have. But to safeguard your privacy, much better to keep it with yourself. You don't need approval from other people.
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 26, 2023, 09:45:06 PM
I'm in crypo world since 2021 only and since then I've noticed a lot of folks talking about Tether as being a potentional scam that may crash the markets one day and I've watched videos from crypto detectives/scam busters such as Coffeezilla and he makes some pretty fair points about Tether being the cryptos biggest scam.
There was a case against USDT due to which there was a panic about USDT at one time but the USDT company won the case and proved themselves innocent and freed from liability. So now everyone trusts USDT again and I do but big investors don't put much money in USDT.  They mostly prefer to hold USDC. Because USDC is by far a secure stablecoin. One person prefers one stable like USDT, BUSD, USDC etc.  So you can choose any one as you wish based on your own research

I don't think everyone trust USDT. But a lot are still using USDT, that I know of.
I, for one, don't trust USDT to hold it long-term, only for trading purposes.
Way back in 2019, they admitted that they are not fully backed with assets.
From that time, I doubt about their claims up until now. Who can attest that they do have actual assets in place.
We are talking billions and billions of USDT here. And the audits, how honest they are with their results?
1095  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 CryptoGamble.tips 🎰 | Where Crypto meets Gambling | Guides, Reviews & Slots on: February 26, 2023, 09:15:45 PM
Thank you guys for your comments and for reading the interview. Yes, there is a huge competition and most likely it will increase more and more. However, competition is natural but only the top ones are really going to stay and deliver in the next months and years. I believe that currently, the only site that is a competitor of CryptoGamble is BTCGOSU. The others review sites know maybe a fraction of what we know in terms of crypto gambling.

Well, in any case, I hope that something really worthwhile will turn out and aimed at satisfying user requests and usability, although it would be interesting to see how you can implement the metaverse on the online casino review site, will it be a travel mode, games or something else?

Competition is always good in any industry, as it will push you to give quality service to target customers.
Some may find some helpful features on your site, that they won't find from the other site.
So if you will continue to improve your services, and give updates whenever you can, you can also get your loyal users.
Some review sites are only good at the start, but later on, they failed to update their list so hopefully, you can keep up with your list.
I assume your ranking in top crypto casinos is not based on the over-all rating of the site because it doesn't follow from high to low rating.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT profit through Brave ads on: February 26, 2023, 08:39:39 PM
is it really worth earning $25 in 2 or 3 years of using the browser?
Do you always use brave browser and only get 82 BAT. It's quite sad if during that time you only generate very few BAT tokens. I know about Brave Browser since its first release and use it only for testing. Just like other browsers, built on a chromium base and open source.
and if you ask whether to hold or sell BAT tokens, are you sure you want to sell $25 and it still doesn't deduct the fee, maybe you have to wait another 2 or 3 years for more BAT tokens to get, maybe twice the amount Now.

Actually if he cashed out in the previous years, he should have made more than $25.
Because I am still using brave up until today but the earnings is very small now, and had converted my earnings to USD few times already.
If he had converted his BAT to USD when it was about $1 per token, he got good money out of it already.
But who knows, his waiting period will give him reward later on if this token will improve its price in the years to come?
But right now, the price is not worth exchanging it. It depends on when he will convert it to another crypto like btc or fiat.
He can just collect it for now, anyway, using brave browser is free and if you are just using the net all day long, why not use brave while earning some BAT?
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this help you win when you're gambling? on: February 26, 2023, 07:59:17 PM
Does anyone of you thought that playing for fun helps you think better and win with less effort especially in poker than having the mindset of trying to win? Because when you are trying your hard to win, it will make you overthink and that your mental state will get stressed out.
I think this will work for both land base and online casinos.

Maybe, the person you are asking just answered it formally without giving you the secret. because, in the game of poker you will always need expertise, skills as well as other things that are not like casino games which are purely based on luck. So, you don't have to completely believe it. talk have fun. we agree, psychologically if we play for fun it will slightly reduce stress levels. but even then on condition, you should not be controlled by emotions when what you expect is not in accordance with expectations. playing for fun in gambling, you can apply to any type of betting and not only in poker games. and don't we play gambling for fun, regardless of winning or losing. The point is, just playing for fun doesn't mean you're going to win. which in the end, gambling will always involve luck regardless of the type of bet.

Yes, poker is one of the gambling games that need skills and experience to win this game.
It is not about their luck about this game. Also, when it comes to decision, it is their skills that matters.
They are also not pressured to make a decision if they are just having fun. But don't apply these to other casino games.
You can't get the same results when you are playing luck-based games either in offline or online casinos.
But it is always better to use your own extra funds so you won't be having the pressure of chasing your winnings inside.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: February 25, 2023, 09:56:53 PM
The risk are higher with the altcoins since cryptomarket depended on Bitcoin and with the altcoins you might encounter a scam project which i think is very possible. Altcoins are also more prone to hacked, that’s why many are afraid to invest at first which as an investment most of them prefer to have an assurance that Bitcoin can give despite of the volatility. If you are not sure about where to invest in altcoins, Bitcoin is the best option for you. There’s also a good opportunity in Altcoins, just do your best to spot the good project.

As we have seen, a lot of alts turned to be a scam, a pump and dump, a haven for most fraudsters.
Very few alts made it to the top 20 which survive long enough, consider that there are thousands of them.
So you can see the percentage of successful alts is really very small. It means, most of them are not trustworthy.
This is the reason why most investors go back to top 5 coins or only to btc. Because they know, it will still be there when they wake up the next day.
Most alts can easily go down the drain without a warning, especially if the dev team decided to cash out and leave.
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen once Hong Kong legalizes bitcoin? on: February 25, 2023, 09:40:58 PM
When it comes to the adoption of Bitcoin in Hong Kong, we gotta be reel and honest. Sure, it'd be dope to see Hong Kkong become a crypto hub, but let's face it - the Chinees govornment has banned that stuf. And since Hong Kong is a part of China, they gotta follow the rules. Its not imposible to adopt Bitcoiin, but it'll take some major effort and negotiation with the Chinese government.

Plus, some Asian countries have already shut down crypto activities. But before we judge, lets understand why. Cryptocurrency is often linked to sketchy stuff like money laundering and terrorist financing. That's why some countries are playing it safe with crypto. But, that doesnt mean crypto is all bad. Legit biases are already accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment. We just need to find a balance between innovation and regulation to get the benefits without the risks.

We will see if HK can push thru this legalization process of btc without the intervention of Chinese government.
They are pretty much autonomous to anything but still there are some limitations.
It may have an impact to the crypto market, but maybe by the time of their announcement regarding legalization.
Because people are seeing a bullish run, but it will subside also. And will go back to the normal trading performance.
If this news is true, a lot of Chinese will go to HK to do their crypto business. And that means, more adoption.
1100  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: February 25, 2023, 09:07:10 PM
What are we talking about? The OP just promote his site with referral links. He doesn`t matter the quality of the casinos. He just wrote or even copypasted several reviews and made a site for getting profit from the newbies, who will register using these links. I can recommend not to use this site and these links, even if they promote a high quality casino.

Yes, I agree. In this case, it looks like the OP is simply trying to profit off of newbies without considering the quality or safety of the casinos they're promoting. As you suggested, it's best to avoid using this site and these links, even if they promote seemingly high-quality casinos. It's always better to err on the side of caution and protect yourself from potential scams or fraudulent activities. It's important to do your own research and make informed decisions when it comes to your money. There are relevant revew sites with much better reputations that provide in-depth and unbiased reviews of online casinos. These review sites often have a team of experts who thoroughly research and test each casino to ensure that they are safe, reliable, and fair.

If the OP wants audience from this forum, they should revisit their list and add known and reputable casinos that are found in the forum.
With their current list, forum users are not familiar or they don't have thread in this gambling board.
So if in any case you need assistance, I don't think you can easily get help from their support.
For most users in the forum, they won't use the links found on their site, because they know better.
If the team wants users from this forum to use their affiliate links, they need to start rectifying their list.
