941  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: April 17, 2023, 02:45:11 PM
What's happening with FTX ever since it declared bankruptcy is all muddled up. Everything looks shady to me. Not only do the authorities seem lenient on Sam Bankman-Fried, there is also an apparent attempt to salvage whatever is left with the exchange. It seems there is an effort to revive it and not so that its users will be made whole again but so that those powerful personalities will recover the large amounts they have lost when the bankruptcy happened.

What do you expect? SBF and the shadows behind him had lined the pockets of a number of very wealthy and powerful people before FTX collapse. Not to mention that his parents are knowledgeable and extremely wealthy. It's shady and it's in your face. The people who are keeping him out of prison probably already have their funds back. The $7.3 billion is probably just the left over after all of the inner circle has been taken care of. That's all speculation...but it's probably true. I really hope not to see FTX operating other than letting people take their money out in Q2.

If you are a previous user of this exchange, I don't think it is best to patronize this exchange after such collapse.
Maybe, get the funds what they owed from you and use other reputable trading platforms.
We won't know the truth about their billion dollars of assets, where it will truly be distributed. But that's their business.
What we need to be cautious is using third party trading platforms and how to secure our assets from similar ftx or luna catastrophe.
They may be trying to recover their losses by resuming their services, but their reputation has already been tainted, would take years again to restore the trust from users.
942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we should play on minor gambling platform? on: April 17, 2023, 01:29:50 PM
It is not a question of why we should but it was our choice and we think that using small gambling platforms helps us to prepare for big and known platforms. But as I said, it was just an option and we can start learning on big platforms if we want.
In fact, there is no huge difference between them and our chances of winning are still the same, and probably have the same rules to follow.
But honestly, gamblers are preferred to use platforms that offer huge rewards...
Rewards is what attract gamblers always apart from measuring there reputation. Most gamblers do not always bother themselves about reputable, they prefer the bonus and rewards they get from the gambling sites which is the main driving force of what makes many of these big platforms to keep having steady traffic of customers that want to use there site take make some few bets.
Smaller and growing gambling platforms do utilize some of these tools to make sure that many customers see keep seeing what they offer to attract big customers.

And if the casino is a newly-launched in the community, most of the time, they are offering very tempting rewards or bonuses.
That's intentional as they want to attract potential players on their platform. And with the competition, they need to think of such attractive features.
Also, some gamblers are trying out new or not popular ones because they want to experience the new casino, what it can offer to potential players.
This is why new casinos are running attractive promotional activities to engage new players and possibly their loyal patrons in the future.
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 17, 2023, 11:44:17 AM
When it is free entry, then everyone will try their luck through these lottery games. These lottery have made big changes in the winners life. With sports betting and other gambling activities it is quite hard to make such big wins.
Lotteries games are cheaper and the wins are usually big. But the chances of wining is always small. And another advantage of lottery is that it requires less skills or expertise. Lottery players always depend solely on luck. But it is a good type of gambling because it hardly leads to gambling addictions because in my country it is a weekly and not a daily or hourly activity like other forms of online gambling. And it might not affect the finance of gamblers so much. National lotteries could also be used as a medium of income distribution by the government which is a good gesture. Most youths don't like lotteries because it is seen as outdated and the winning process is slow. But it is popular amount the elderly and uneducated because it is less difficult to play and it was also popular in their time.

You don't actually need skills or expertise to join in any lottery.
They just need your money to buy lottery tickets and that's it, wait for the ball to roll and see what numbers have been lucky.
Among gamblers here, the freebitco lambo lottery event is one of the most talked about.
I believe some of the users here are also buying or earning some golden tickets.
Anyway, if it is free entry, why not? But if it will require a handsome amount, then, only those who can afford can participate.
The potluck is usually big if the lottery can attract huge number of users, this is why your chance is also getting slimmer if there are a lot of people joining in.
944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: April 16, 2023, 09:57:42 PM
There's a house edge that you don't know inside sports betting.

In short if there are 10 gamblers bet each $100 in a match, the casino has $1,000 as the pool, but odds designed they will only pay $950, the another $50 are their profit. The odds will not be 2.00x and 2.00x, but it's always 1.95x and 1.95x, as simple as that.
So whether it’s a win or loss for the players, the casino will always have its commission that’s why its profits are certain. Not just in pure luck based games, but even in sportsbetting, the casino will still make profits regardless it’s a win or loss. And this makes casinos more profitable than any kind of business. Not just in football, but certainly in all kinds of sports betting games.

That's the advantage of the bookmaker, no matter what, they still have some profits from the bets.
But it is true on the other hand, that bookies have no influence regarding the results of the sports.
Because it is entirely up to the athletes or the organization handling the games.
If there will be manipulation, it is within the sports and not from the bookies.
So if you are very familiar with one sports, you will have good chance of winning your bets.
But it doesn't mean, it will guarantee your winning, because there are still other factors in play.
945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Speculation & Gambling" - Warren Buffett Critisize on: April 16, 2023, 09:36:53 PM
Everything related to finance is speculative and gambling

Yeah, including stocks that Warren Buffett has it his portfolio, perhaps for him it's the risk involved that's why he compare it to gambling. And if it is gambling to us then majority of us are in the winning side, specially those long terms holders who knows when to sell at the right time.

The thing is that he don't want and doesn't want to understand Bitcoin, and with that his opinion is irrelevant because how can you comment on something that you don't even understand?

Some people are listening from what he said because of status in life.
But it is true, if you are not well-conversant with the technology, how can you give a valuable comment on the matter?
Stocks and other financial options have some sort of speculative aspect as for sure no one knows exactly what will happen to their holdings.
Just like with btc or crypto market in general, we are all speculating to where our coins will head to.
But high likely that he is talking about the risks involve and right now, btc is considerably a high risk investment.
946  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 16, 2023, 09:15:11 PM
I think that it would be honest to KYC before the deposit. Today it looks like that casino easily takes the gamblers money and when they have to give them back - gambler gets troubles. It is unfair for my opinion. Yes, gambler have to read ToS but if he has to KYC before deposit - he can make his decision about KYC and when he is asked KYC before withdrawal - he has no choice.
While that would be for the best for most gamblers out there, I doubt this will ever be implemented by a high number of casinos, and this is because if gamblers had to pick between a casino which asked them to identify themselves before they even make a deposit and a casino which asks for this information when they attempt their first withdrawal, they will always pick the latter, and this is because many gamblers do not read the TOS and the latter casino seems to give the impression of being more lenient when it comes to those policies, even if this is not the case, but gamblers will only find out about this once they attempt their first withdrawal.

Most casinos are not implementing it right away because it somehow scare away these players.
Also, even if the casino is requiring kyc, some are only requiring it at bigger deposits or withdrawals.
Most licensed casinos have kyc requirements in their ToS, so players should be aware of such requirements.
If they see that kyc is needed, expect that they will ask this at anytime they deem necessary.
So they need to make sure they are entering right info so they won't face any trouble later on.
947  Economy / Economics / Re: Automating your savings will help you save more on: April 16, 2023, 07:10:26 PM
It takes a lot of discipline to be able to save money these days, which is why saving should be taken seriously. Thank God for apps that help you save money easily. all you need to do is complete the necessary setup. Whether you want a monthly, weekly, or daily deduction depends on what is convenient for you. I am aware of some apps such as Piggybank and many more that let you set up automatic savings. Automation has made everything easy.

This is a great help especially for those who can really afford to set aside some of their funds.
You don't need to remind yourself but it is already auto set-up, and usually it is after you receive some sort of income.
For those who are living paycheck to paycheck, it is understandable that they won't commit to this type of savings.
But if you think you can save a lil bit even with your small income, you can do so. Sometimes, it is only a matter of budgeting your finances,
and prioritizing your basic needs. Always remember, live below or within your means.
948  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of crypto casinos with high wagering requirements on: April 16, 2023, 06:26:46 PM
Here's another casino very overrated wagering, on first deposit bonus, first deposit bonus is 100%. wagering x50 but a big list of excluded games .... And you have to do it in 24 hours.

I don’t think bonuses wagering requirements are that important beside that each and every bonus have a different rule that can be very high, impossible and limited. On the list we will have only the casinos with high wagering requirements for no bonus deposits . Don’t hesitate to share any crypto casino that you find with excessive terms of withdrawing.

@OP Since you have livecasino in your list, maybe you can also add bitcasino because they are under the same management and as I can see the terms for this case is the same.

Thank you for your help, the list has been updated now and i will keep searching for more casinos. I hope that the team behind these casinos will make the terms of wagering clearer for us so that players can be certain that they will not encounter different rules every time they attempt to withdraw.
To be honest, it is very annoying whether you have made profits or lost a part of your deposit to be unable to withdraw without risking more.
Everyone here agrees on how bad these rules are so hopefully we will see a change soon.

This list will give an overview for new players to look at before they deposit to these casinos.
However, I noticed that a lot of popular and top casinos found in the forum is not on the list.
But it doesn't mean, you don't need to read their terms when it comes to withdrawal.
Always best to check their ToS especially on their deposit and withdrawal terms.
High wagering requirements usually will stop some players to play on the site, as we all know, before you even complete the half of it, your bankroll is already long gone.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 15, 2023, 09:49:36 PM
Certainly there is no strategies in gambling. And if by any means there is any strategy then it should be the cautions to gamble or to gamblers.
There is no winning strategy towards gambling, especially when it comes to casino gambling. The closest you could come is in the sportsbook but even that too comes without any assurance as you still could be beaten on your best bet.

Though, there is nothing wrong with having a style or format of play. It's one way to ensure control over what funds your ready to gamble with and how many tries you would want to take before you either win or exhaust your gambling funds.

It's aways cool you approach gambling with some permutation, even though it's a game of luck.
Gambling is literally dependent on luck, so even if you have the best strategies to use while gambling, that won’t give an assurance that you will actually win in the end. The casino operators have seen it coming, so they have already set plan for it. And to think that gambling always gives edge to the house, that’s why if you don’t have the luck to win, gambling experience will never be a profitable one.

There is a reason why gambling business is a very lucrative business.
No matter what strategy you will apply on regular casino games, you will likely end up losing.
They won't survive if they are not earning more than enough for themselves.
Most casino games are based on luck and coupled with house edge, you will be on the losing streak if you won't stop playing.
Poker and sportsbetting are just few gambling areas where skills and experience can help you on the winning side.
950  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 15, 2023, 09:11:42 PM
Yeah! Congrats to the lucky winner - 6.5 BTC is a sweet haul.

I tried searching for UID 16840193 on the forum, but nothing came up. So we don't know if the winner is someone from here unless they speak up themselves. If it were me, I wouldn't want to reveal my identity either. Some things are better kept under wraps, you know?

Well, speaking up on this forum as a winner of this seasons lambo giveaway from FreeBitco.in isn't revealing your identity I suppose, simply because the forum also holds users privacy to high esteem, except if there is an individual or persons on this forum who know you in person, and you wouldn't want them to know you just won yourself a lambo, then you can create a new bitcointalk account and announce your winning from there, this way, your privacy is preserved.

Well, I disagree. While it's true that this forum takes user privacy seriously, there's still a risk that someone could figure out who the winner is based on the information shared. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to personal information. Plus, not everyone is comfortable sharing that kind of information with a large group of strangers online, even if they're anonymous.

Anyway, there's no right or wrong answer here, just personal preference.

There's no worry about announcing being the winner you are.
Much better if you will keep your privacy so no one will be lurking your identity for so many reasons.
We don't know how people think these days. A lot of scammers are just looking for one loophole or window to screw you good.
This lambo contest is still earning a very good audience from the forum, but I am guessing a lot of golden tickets were bought outside (not forum members).
And the last winner bought about 7021 tickets, so when you calculate it with corresponding btc value, it's like he spent about 1.755BTC.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout money on: April 15, 2023, 08:41:15 PM
i appreciate all the help but in my books pokerstars is a poker site/account  so calling it a casino account is a bit strange

you can indeed play casino on it  but poker is not casino  right ?  or am i mistaken?

nonetheless  i think i have slim chance in getting my money back wich is a shame Sad    and also to make things clear  i made the deposit myself with my own personal skrill account on someone else  account
so the money   that was cashed out  was my money  but okay  i made mistake to play on someone else  ps account i get that

what i don't know is if nemlig and this real owner  of ps account are the same person  or if this real owner has nothing to do with it and maybe  didn't log on anymore on his account and so doesn't know his account is being used for other activitivies
i have name of this real owner  if maybe can track a person   you can contact me  (can't find him on social networks though )

There is very little or almost no chance that you may get your money back. It's better you may forget about it and move on. You got the lesson learned but at the expense of your money. You and me can't change what is being written for us by the nature and these losses are part of life. The only thing we can do is not t repeat the same mistakes again and learn from these experiences.

As far as the scammer Nemlig is concerned, he isn't much active on this forum now a days especially after his account is tagged. He was last active on 25 March and its also not easy to find him on social media as you never know if the bitcointalk name Nemlig is his real name and there is not much information available to search for him on social networks.

Just take this as an expensive lesson, not to trust a stranger over the net.
For all we know, he's been reading your case anonymously.
So yes, accept the fact that you can't get your money back. At least, you can still earn that money and he did not screw you using your personal docs.
Tracking that person may incur some funds again from your end. So better accept this lesson and move on.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto as "payment" method adaptable for non tech-savvy people? on: April 15, 2023, 08:13:23 PM
All you need is a curious mind and will to learn. We can not force something on people. We can try and tell them about it, but to ensure the use of it is totally on their hand. It is not totally necessary for everyone to use it as a payment method.
As a crypto user/lover, we can only tell them what the benefits are and how to use it. If they become interested, they will use it on their own. Otherwise, there's nothing we can do about it. So the best course of action is to spread the knowledge, If people came to know about it, many will join us. And people tend to lean towards the majority. No matter what it is. So here's your answer I guess.

It will only take one transaction to understand the possible benefits of using crypto.
With their first transaction, definitely, they need assistance from someone who knows this market.
And that is correct, the will to learn is very important so they will study on their own how this new currency will work for them.
People are scared of something if they don't know about it. But once they slowly learn how to use it, I am sure, they won't be scared of using this route.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 14, 2023, 09:58:46 PM
I thought I was the only one who ever noticed this feature for most wagering requirements for withdrawals and I also understand that the major purpose for this type of requirements is to help fight against money laundering and some criminal acts such as channelling stolen or looted funds through their casinos which is against the law.
But even while trying to consider the casino, I think the casino also need to consider the common man and try as much as possible to reduce the the wagering requirements for none bonus deposit because most times, it really seems very impossible to make withdrawals especially with those requirements.

In this case, we can only request from the casino to lower their requirements.
However, if they are not listening from the community, then, just find another casino that would suffice your request.
This requirement is one of the things that you need to consider before depositing any penny to the site.
Aside from their minimum deposit, you also need to know their wagering requirements and their KYC protocol.
I believe, such features are a must to know so you won't be disappointed or accuse the site as scam if you can't withdraw for those reasons.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dumping ground on: April 14, 2023, 09:38:09 PM
Ask that question and you know you are not ready to choose an investment yet.  Take your time to learn, do not put money in things you do not understand.

Finding an Altcoin that is worth the investment is a VERY, VERY difficult and EXTREMELY risky job.  Even the best still fail to properly choose where to place their money and at this point?  It is more a bet than an investment !

Most coins go away because no body is interested to invest in them and most of them are useful and failures.  Look at it like all those businesses that open up every day.  How many of them fail?  A lot!  How many of them get to billions of Market Cap and to levels like Amazon?  Very few!

In my opinion, it is not advisable to hear from the suggestions as you don't know their motives.
Also, it is quite difficult to follow someone else's advise if you are not doing your own homework with respect to the project.
It is always best to do your own digging so you will understand better its market potential.
That's a lot of work but it may save your hard-earned money from crappy projects.
Most alts, particularly new ones are only created for the devs' pockets, so make sure to do your own assessments.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency. on: April 13, 2023, 09:57:38 PM
Investing only in one currency with that huge amount? I have no choice but to take BTC as it was the safest coin in crypto.
But honestly, I could think about putting that amount of money in a single investment as it was advisable to spread them into some altcoins like ETH and BNB.

If someone will choose to invest it solely into an altcoin, he'll be taking a huge risk more than the risk with Bitcoin.

The dilemma here is that the OP wants to be a billionaire from his investment.
That's like punch in the air, as he wants a huge profit from his $40k initial funds.
On the note of crypto he needs to invest in, should always diversify his portfolio to valuable coins.
But should not expect that he will be millionaire or billionaire from such investments.
This is the reason why many new comers in crypto are getting it wrong, thinking that this market is a gold mine.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 13, 2023, 09:30:56 PM

I don't think it will affect people directly, meaning gambling will continue but indirectly it will reduce the number of gamblers. The interest in gambling is not because these teams have gambling sponsors on their shirts, but the interest in gambling is very clear due to other factors such as entertainment or something like that.

Even without sponsors, gamblers will still gamble on a particular site according to their wishes. But there's chance England could can reduce the growth rate of gamblers after going without sponsors on some teams' shirts.

Gamblers will always be gamblers. But such move may reduce potential gamblers.
Because some hard core fans will only gamble if they see their idols to be promoting a specific site or company.
But if you have the interest in gambling, you will always find a way how to gamble, even not promoted by prominent athletes.
Remember, it is only one avenue how a gambling site is being promoted, there are other marketing options to promote a site.
957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I earn only from cryptocurrencies? on: April 13, 2023, 09:02:15 PM
Is it trading, aidrops, writing articles, marketing, etc ?
I saw people doing full time in airdrops and yes, they've got a lot of list of it so I was overwhelmed looking at them and has got capital for those airdrops because it's a requirement for them to do test nets.

I guess majority of us here are into trading and holding and that's just a part time source of income. Look outside and in many marketplaces and you'll see those freelancing people earning cryptos as well.

They get paid crypto for doing tasks or being employed by someone offshore.

Airdrops nowadays are not to be treated as a guarantee to get income as most of them won't even be listed in exchanges.
I believe a lot of us here are earning from crypto market but only as a sideline, most have their own main job to attend to.
If you are a beginner in this market, don't treat this as your main source of income and quit your job, because you will screw your finances.
You can earn from crypto, but there's no easy route. You need to understand first the market before you will see profits from your investments.
Be smart enough once you got into this market. Don't lose your main job while you are still traversing on this market.
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH has the capacity to pass BTC? on: April 12, 2023, 09:59:12 PM
The way and manner of speed ETH bullish at times makes me feels one day, the pump price ratio of ETH may outgrow BTC not in terms of how much is BTC or ETH? But the ratio speed of pumps per bull. I remember 2018 when ETH was less than $150 but ETH takes two weeks to bull market. If somebody should be wise enough ETH would be the next 28k dos.
NO, because it was not the only basis that we would think it happen. No matter how much the ETH pump, Bitcoin will remain the number 1 among crypto. In fact, you can see a lot of altcoins had pumped huge that ETH or even BTC but still, it never change their position because this is not the way how to measure what coin is on the number 1 or number 2 but the role and potentiality of the said project.
Well, it was an impressive growth of ETH and investors are happy to see it but doubted if this will take for long as it was still dependent on BTC after all.

ETH network may grow but I am also on the side that it won't surpass the popularity of bitcoin.
They have different usage among crypto users, but bitcoin will still be the first to be recognize by people as cryptocurrency.
It would take time for newcomers to understand how ETH network works, and what is the deviation of this network from bitcoin.
But in any case, we are grateful that both networks are existent today. We can simultaneously utilize them depending on our needs.
959  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: April 12, 2023, 09:40:47 PM
I was thinking new kind of plan to buy bitcoin every month from my salary immediately my company paids me but I still have other responsibilities to carry with family so am skeptical about it especially now that the price has no direction. If can afford storing every month in a long run I may realizes half of bitcoin unit and that's a big achievement to buy but to you is funny because you have enough of it. So advise me on what to do! Should I hold on because of the instabilities in price? Or I should buy and store? Over to you
That’s for you to decide. If you think you still have extra funds to buy, then why not. But never compromise your funds just to make it happen buying every month because you have a goal to achieve, prioritize first your family’s basic needs and expenses. And when you have already spare funds for bitcoin, do the DCA. Buy a portion of it everytime you are capable to buy especially when the price drops again to its bearish price.

Always best to use your spare funds on this market as this market is a very volatile one.
Because if you are using funds from your basic needs, you will end up stressing yourself.
It doesn't matter if you can allot this month or not, as long as you are not forced about it.
The important thing is put food on your table and pay your monthly bills first.
Savings and other investments can wait. Much better if your family is not deprived of decent living.

Dating scam is something that have been on for ages now, it is a very popular way to scam people, and in the case of this woman, I am not surprised, and I also do not blame her, it's probably not her fault, and I don't think lost that money out of greed of any kind, could be that she was hypnotized.

I live around some of the dating scammers and I tell you, if you see all the diabolical stuffs those guys do, in other to spiritually make their victim to be 100 percent submissive to them, you wouldnt blame the woman.

Anyways, I feel sorry for her though for such a loss, I hope she recovers it back soon.

We can't judge her what she had done as we don't know the full story. How she was screwed by that scammer.
It may not be greed but yes, something like hypnotism may played the role in this.
But whatever it was, will be an expensive lesson for her. Better not trust strangers when it comes to money.
A lot have been scammed in dating apps or any online chat rooms, it will not be the last sad story that we will read over the net.
Scammers know their way how to earn trust from naive people. They are using such weakness without conscience.
