501  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [TO THEYMOS AND MODS] BFL scammer tag? on: May 25, 2013, 03:01:19 AM
I haven't followed the whole BFL scandal much, but didn't they deliver test units to some people?

I know this is a noob question but what does this mean ? We will never be let free on the forum ?
Not at all. If you don't qualify for preemptive whitelisting, you can still be automatically whitelisted by making 5 posts and being logged on for 4 hours. I'll review your account in a minute or two.
505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 5 posts now and 16hrs login time, why I am still a newbie on: May 24, 2013, 01:38:22 AM
Admin has to manually approve everyone
No, we don't. Most people get automatically upgraded within 10 minutes of reaching 5 posts and 4 hours logged in. We can manually approve you at any time, though.
506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WWW.BROWSERMINER.COM IS A SCAM <<<THEY HACKED MY ACCOUNT>>> on: May 24, 2013, 01:28:50 AM
I can confirm this. They've hacked several accounts here.
507  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 24, 2013, 01:15:42 AM
Well, according to theymos MikeT a probable alt of foofight (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195542.0). This is starting to get complex... Undecided

What does an alt of foofight mean?
It means that julianstantiago may not have been the scammer, here.
508  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 24, 2013, 01:09:35 AM
Sounds like a scammer to me.

Well, I honestly don't know. I'd be curious what info comes back from John and possibly Theymos.
509  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [TO THEYMOS AND MODS] BFL scammer tag? on: May 24, 2013, 12:39:56 AM
Because we don't give scammer tags based on popular vote. If we don't hear any more updates after the next few months, then we'll talk.
510  Other / Meta / Re: Fishing SCAM bitcointalk.org? on: May 23, 2013, 10:27:55 PM
Ha.

You broke the first rule and talked about it on the site!!!!

Anyway, the first red flag is this: this website has no income. So there's nothing to invest in.
Umm... The ads alone make over $4k USD/week. So, we do have income. But, as you say...

The site has received so many donations from members that it was actually having problems finding a way to store the funds. Why would they need further investments?
...we have more money than we know what to do with. To put things in prospective, we have enough money to start a small venture capital firm. Which brings up another point: this guy is really undervaluing the forum. BTC4 for 0.1%? Really? That says that we're valued at BTC4k, despite having over BTC5k in the bank. If this forum went public, I fully expect it to be valued at at least $1 million.

So yeah, I laugh at this terrible attempt to scam.
511  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 09:41:10 PM
I have no idea what to make of his remaining posts.. they appear to be gibberish.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=120812;sa=showPosts
Just in case any of that was important, I'm putting the last forum backup into permanent storage.
512  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 09:08:37 PM
I think we caught him just in time.  One more scammer caught BEFORE he could act.

fwiw I made $10 off him.

HOORAY ME!
Well, I honestly don't know. I'd be curious what info comes back from John and possibly Theymos.
513  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:59:49 PM
Julian just made a strange post in my reputation thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212616.msg2249329#msg2249329

I have no idea what that is.

He's wiping all of his posts.

Also, I split this from his rep thread and deleted it, moving this to scam accusations.
514  Economy / Scam Accusations / julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:49:11 PM
Yep, like I thought.  Please label this piece of shit the scammer that he is.

Thanks!
No, there is not yet any evidence of scamming.
515  Economy / Scam Accusations / julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:48:21 PM
Im not going to get pulled into this shit. Mod can you please remove my account?
No. People with open accusations against them cannot have their account deleted.
516  Economy / Scam Accusations / julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:44:42 PM
I have invited John, their escrow, to join us.
517  Economy / Scam Accusations / julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:37:13 PM
...and it's gone!

(Pretend the South Park image is here)

He reported that MikeT "Scammed me out of 6 BTC while using escrow by redeeming the moneypaks before I received them"
518  Economy / Scam Accusations / julianstantiago's moneypak scam on: May 23, 2013, 08:30:42 PM
Umm... Just check who he sent feedback on. The link to his feedback given/received is in his profile, and it says who he -1'd.
519  Other / Meta / Re: @bitcointalk.org emails on: May 23, 2013, 08:02:55 PM
It would be nice if this were done for staff so that we would look more official on any emails we send, but it might also make a good reward for donators and above.
520  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: May 23, 2013, 06:33:45 PM
What if I want to remove Theymos from my trust list.

lol...
If you don't want to trust anyone, trust someone with an empty trust list (satoshi, for example).
