You need to use a good faucet list, a updated one. I like to use this: http://gameofbitcoins.com/

There you can see faucet's reward, timer, if it's paying or if it's out of funds, direct payment or not, kind of captcha...

That is the best way to avoid trash faucets and non paying faucets. Good earnings.
1162  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is humanity gone? on: October 25, 2017, 07:15:36 PM
I think we are on the bottom. Step by step humanity is being destroyed and it's happening since much time ago, but seems at this moment it's happening faster than before. But I think we shouldn't lose our faith, we should continue hoping for the best and for a real change in the world. What makes the situation worse is when good people became alienated and accept the darkness other people impose to them.

Faked people always existed, the problem is the place where they are on the societies.
You should look up some statistics. Things have steadily been getting better over the years. The problems are just more apparent because they're spammed all over social media, but they're fewer and less significant than any problems that we had in the past.

Which kind of statistics? Food can be decreasing, health can be more accessible, techology is being developed, people have more access to electronics. The statistics say things like this and I don't doubt it's true, but is this really what makes the humanity better? Is it enough?

Even having all these material items I don't see people happy, friendly, innocent, generous like before (and I'm not talking about go to church every Sunday or about making donations).
The lack of happiness is a problem of poor education systems. Schools are still stuck in the past, in a time where we needed machine-like workers that quickly go through a programmed set of tasks to create products that would help humanity solve problems like hunger and disease.

But now we need to move on from this zombie-like existence. This is impossible within current schools and colleges, because they haven't fundamentally changed in a very long time. But we're slowly seeing progress in this regard when we look at online courses (which are still pretty bad, but better than schools), and all the possibilities through which human beings can sustain their lives.

There are a lot of kids who are literally becoming rich by making silly videos or by playing games. And even more people are at least making enough money to support a decent life by simply sharing their hobbies with the world. More and more people are realizing that simply doing what you are passionate about can turn into a happy and self-sustained life. But this kind of transformation takes time.

Sometimes you need to hit rock-bottom to realize what is wrong though, and I believe that humanity is just about to reach that tipping point (because depression rates are indeed on the rise and people are becoming more and more aware of the problems of humanity).

Also: It's never enough. There's always going to be something else that nobody has ever done before.

But I see people so proud about their super progressive schools, since pre-schools until universities, full of political correctness, where the differences don't exist and you can be what you want. I think schools are stucked in a demagogic and alienated progressive pattern that don't open the individuals minds for what really matters.

As you said about workers working like machines on repetitive tasks, there is already enough technology to replace this kind of job and let people spend their time on things more worthful for their existence and another jobs. The hard work of the past isn't necessary anymore, because now there are powerful machines that could do the hard work while the humans just manage their equipments and time.

But for some reason it's not happening. It's not interesting for a globalist elite that profits from the mass pain. And while people stay alienated on their silly videos about their favorite Youtubers nothing will change, it's a total alienation, the called Matrix. Leading people to quick pleasures that will lead them to an empty existence, generating the depression, that is surely rising these days.

1164  Other / Meta / Re: Relationship between Sirius, theymos and Satoshi? on: October 25, 2017, 06:34:14 PM
It was 2009 when I was studying computer science at Helsinki University of Technology. Inspired by libertarian ideals, I came up with the idea of a decentralized Internet currency that cannot be controlled by any government or other single entity. I contacted some guy named Satoshi Nakamoto, who had drafted a technical proposal of such a system just a couple months earlier. He called it Bitcoin.

The story of how I became head admin is actually pretty boring. Moderators were needed, so I was made a global moderator. Then admins were needed, so I was made an admin. Then over time the other admins slowly lost interest and resigned until I was the only one left. I guess most of the people who were around here to see this have more-or-less left the community now. That's a bit sad.

It's not entirely clear, but for simplicity I usually say that I became head admin at the beginning of 2011, a little over a year after the forum was created.

The forum was originally located at bitcoin.org/smf, then forum.bitcoin.org (hence the redirect), and finally bitcointalk.org. Fun fact: The name "bitcointalk" was invented by Jeff Garzik, and he's the one who bought the domain.

So based on the quotes above (first by Sirius), It's safe to say that there is pretty much no relation between them and they never met face to face.

Or maybe they don't give much publicity to their relation. People who are near, are (or were) in touch or know Satoshi could be in danger, so for them, it's better to be discreet about it. It's only speculation from my side, but I can fantasize more than just what these quotes say.  Smiley

I ask myself if these developers are really earning money with these HardForks, because for holders it's free money coming just by holding Bitcoins, I think this is the only case of Free Money that really exists.  Cheesy
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invite Only Bitcoin Casinos? on: October 25, 2017, 02:37:55 PM
This is truly an interesting concept, though I think there is not one yet around. Or I don't know it because I wasn't one of the invited that's why I don't know it.

Indeed, however, I don't think these business model for a gambling site would really be profitable unless it would be inviting billionaires to gamble on the casino. Something like out of the movie of James Bond Quantum of Solace. Where they are invited to a poker game for the elites only and would bet hundreds of millions per round. That's something different, though I don't think it would be appealing to the rich anyway to gamble online.

I think it's more related to private clubs and physical casinos. In some casinos there are private rooms or areas only for people who are able to bet high, there is a minimum bet set (and that is high). On the game GTA San Andreas they tried to do something like this, on some tables you needed to bet a minimum high bet. Anyway if you don't have money you aren't welcome in any physical casinos.

However Bitcoin casinos are more receptive for any kind of people, even the poor ones that don't have money and use the site's faucet to start playing. So I don't think it would be interesting for Bitcoin casinos to allow only invited people to use their sites, the public of this kind of casino is very different from the physical ones.
1168  Economy / Economics / Re: Reliable comparison between mining vs. buying and holding on: October 25, 2017, 03:16:10 AM
Mining has got lot many requirements and different governments have provided with different stepped process to make it efficient. With buying and holding, all that required is the patience to hold. More the time iin the wallet more will be the profiting.

Yes G2z_Riya, that is true, and a very good way to invest into bitcoin's fundamentals, by buying and holding.

However, for those with a little extra capital after buying some bitcoins for holding, mining is also another viable way to generate more bitcoin as earnings over a period. A reasonable time frame would be at least about 2 to 3 years before the next halving in 2020, and beyond that in the subsequent halvings.

A comparison of the two ways of investing, between buying-holding versus mining, is given in the tables in my article at http://www.coinpurveyor.com/buy-hold-vs-mining-bitcoin/. Although both methods are risky (some people even consider buying and holding bitcoin as risky, and it is if they don't understand the problems with fiat currencies and the traditional banking system), mining presents a different kind of risk compared to just buying and holding, but the long term returns are usually worth it, for as long as the mining operation continues to be profitable. Feel free to use and replace any figures in the tables in that article to suit your purpose. You will find that with some acceptable risks, bitcoin mining has far better prospects than simply buying and holding. Note that here I am referring to mining with BitClub Network (based on my own track record data and known platform advantages), not mining on your own or pointing your hashrate to a pool with all the overheads at your own costs (warranty issues and breakdowns are another level of risk for those who mine from home).

With buying and holding, assuming you sold off all your bitcoin in your holdings to cash out, you will no longer hold any more bitcoin to be sold off at a future higher price. To own bitcoin again, you would have to buy it at the current higher price, which is likely much higher than you had originally bought years before. With mining, selling all your mining earnings today to cash out is OK, because you will continue to earn from your mining earnings for an indefinite time, again, as long as the mining operation continues to be profitable. Once you have achieved ROI, mining earnings from that point onwards become pure profit. Personally for me, that point was 2 months ago, when I was into my 8th month mining with BCN.

Andreas Antonopoulos had stated at his talk at MIT that mining will always be profitable, and I agree with him on that. The intrinsic value of bitcoin comes from the energy and resources it takes to mine bitcoin. I would also like to add, that to remain sustainable in mining, at the moment and in the near future, being part of a large mining pool counts. This will largely help to cope with the increasing mining difficulty as time passes. However, the bitcoin network is designed to be a self-stabilising economy that will find its own point of equilibrium, even as miners join and leave the network, and what will happen 3 to 5 years from now, we can only wait and see.

But mining is problematic. You won't mine forever or until 2146 with the same mining equipment, the difficult is constantly increasing, also there are extra costs if you are mining physically, on the cloud it becomes worse as the ROI takes too much time to happen or it may never happen.

Let's say with $5000 I buy 1 Bitcoin. But with the same $5000 investment in mining I'm not able to get 1 Bitcoin from it.

Probably the same what happened at Yobit. Initially BTG was pricing 0.08 BTC, now it's pricing 0.04 BTC.

-50% in price after 24 hours or so...

1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel when win in gambling? on: October 25, 2017, 12:12:12 AM
If I win a little, I really don't feel any excitement and continue playing. If I win a lot, I usually take the money and run Smiley

If i were you i will also run after winning a big sum of money. I don't want to risk it by playing even more. Sometimes people need to practice self control and satisfaction because if you are a compulsive gambler it will get you in trouble I swear. For me if i win a lot I want to treat myself of the money I won because I think I deserve it.

Self control is hard to practice for some people, especially when they win big in gambling. Nothing is enough for them and if they have won once they think it will continue happening. Or after winning a big prize they have a big bankroll and they think it's possible to 'farm' the game and keep winning. But even the probability shows they have more chances to win, the little chance of losing everything can happen and then the game is over. I don't know if people who win always deserve it, but I think everyone have had the chance to left the house with profit at least once.
1172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to accept bitcoin in my restaurant on a viable way? on: October 24, 2017, 11:46:44 PM
Make sure to check what is the most adviced fee price on the moment of the transaction, so you must order the customer to pay a minimum fee of X to have the transaction completed in few minutes. Using this site for an example: https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Otherwise the customer can set a very low fee, go away and after sometime the transaction is rejected, he receives his money back and you receive nothing...
1173  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Reason for Bitcoin's Rise on: October 24, 2017, 11:21:24 PM
Keeping the inflation low and the rising inequality have no relation.
Actually the increased inflation will make the elite more wealthy. The inflation hits the people with fixed income
like workers and retired people.Rich people become richer because of the increasing asset prices.
I don`t think that cryptocurrencies are an alternative to the fiat economy, they are still tied with the fiat economy and we have to make them independent from the US dollar and the other fiat currencies.
This world is ruled by the elite and if Bitcoin will ever replace fiat in this function nothing actually will change. One elite will replace by the other, those people who have a lot of coins. I suppose those theory is just the writer's opinion and it wasn't actually finished, because of I don't see all possible scenarios of development of the theory.

That is true. There will be always a new elite to rule the world and the next generation can be the earlier Bitcoin adopters who have thousands of Bitcoins. They are the billionaires of the future. I think there isn't anything we can do about it, I just hope the next elite generation will be more decent than this one. It's an illusion to try decreasing poverty if people are unable to think by themselves and to manage their own lifes. It's not only about money, but about behavior.
1174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the things to consider in your 1st bitcoin investment? on: October 24, 2017, 11:00:43 PM
If Bitcoin falls nearly 10x and takes more than three years to return to the price you paid for it would you be able to take it? Because that's what happened to people who bought in 2013.

People who bought in 2013 also fully expected to be able to sell it for more the following month and year. If only life was that simple we'd all be rich.

I know many people don't like it as they just want to hold their Bitcoins, but on this situation, meanwhile you can invest your Bitcoins and make it generate passive income for you. The risk to see a high drop on BTC's price is real and to wait another few years to see the price recovering is a lot!

So, a passive income would be a good way to don't waste time. Personally, I think on the first investment in BTCs it's already good to try investments that pay interest, at least with few satoshis.

1177  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has Arrived in Thailand..... on: October 24, 2017, 05:47:16 PM
Seems tourism niche is seeing Bitcoin as a good opportunity to make profit. Maybe the time comes for Thailand. I can see even more people that like to travel having interest for Bitcoins and as these people travel worldwide they can spend their Bitcoins on several different countries, the local stores/sellers just need to accept it and enjoy the profit the Blockchain technology allows them to have access.

I'm sure the sellers accepting Bitcoin as payment won't regret about this decision. They will make even more sellers start accepting and embracing Bitcoins. On the another hand the local government will want their piece of cake.
1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is changing the world. on: October 24, 2017, 05:13:04 PM
I think Bitcoin isn't changing the world, it's just changing the financial life of its adopters, especially those who are holding since the beginning of Bitcoin. There are many expectatives that Bitcoin can change the world on long term as it advances together with technology, but I don't think money + technology are enough to change the world in a real positive way. But I'm happy that the currency is helping some people like me to increase our month budget and giving us opportunities to think bigger than before.
1179  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happen to banks? on: October 24, 2017, 04:47:42 PM
Banks will die as we know them. They are already in a transformation process because every day we do more online transactions and we need less our local branch. Banking system will survive though, but transformed. This transformation is not only affecting banks, digital era has come and will stay here for a little while.

I don’t think blockchain is a treat to them. I recently saw in local news that Spanish banks have joined “Enterprise Ethereum Alliance” using Ethereum technology (http://www.expansion.com/empresas/banca/2017/02/28/58b5c923468aeb3d7d8b466b.html). That alliance was created Intel, JPMorgan, Microsoft and others, and many other banks and companies have joined. So, blockchain, instead of posing a threat, will make banks re-invent themselves.

True the banks of today are going to change the same way they have always done, the banks of some centuries ago are very different from the banks of today, so it is important to know that banks are not going to give up their position without a fight and in case they fail to destroy bitcoin they are just going to integrate it in their operations somehow.

The best would be if these banks turned into exchanges. They could be complete exchanges, accepting investments, offering insurance as guarantee for people who keep the money on their systems. They could operate with Bitcoins and AltCoins, allowing people to trade on their platforms. This way everyone would be happy, the "bank" owners and the customers. Surely the profit of the banks would decrease, but that is what should happen anyway...
1180  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign and foreign language on: October 24, 2017, 04:07:27 PM
Each campaign is unic and has different rules. You just need to check what sections your campaign manager doesn't accept. There are some campaigns that accept posts on local language boards, if you want to post using your native language try to find a campaign that accept it.
