Yeah I have to agree with the previous poster... I like Crypto-Games.net. The have a range of games, take a range of coins... have a faucet... have an API so you can use bots etc... good moderators and admins... and friendly folks in the chat for when you need a break from the gambling and want to just chill and hang out...

Definitely worth checking out...
10002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: September 17, 2016, 09:46:43 AM
There are risks involved in trading... which effectively means that you are gambling... but it isn't just pure blind dumb luck involved... so it isn't like rolling dice or spinning roulette... I definitely think the closest 'traditional' gambling would be sports.

Trading is a lot like sports betting in my mind... you need to put in a decent amount of effort, research and analysis so that you can properly understand what it is that you a "betting" on. You can usually make an educated guess and increase your odds of success with a bit of effort.
10003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it Sports Betting is better than other type of gambling? on: September 17, 2016, 09:42:22 AM
I think it has more to do with the fact that there is a little more "skill" involved in sport betting than in other forms of gambling which usually rely purely on "luck"... like dice, roulette or slots... Blackjack is a bit of an exception, but only really in live games where the decks are not shuffled every hand.

But I digress... with sport betting, you can do a lot of research and analysis and make fairly good judgments about who will win and who will lose... of course, there is always an element of chance (bounce of the ball, bad call by referee/umpire, unforeseen injuries etc)... but by being informed and having a good understanding of the game, the competition and the teams/players involved, you can really get a lot of results correct...

however, this is the reason why a lot of the payouts for sports betting are so much lower and not as "attractive" to some gamblers... winning @1.05 on a surefire bet doesn't seem great compared to getting 2x payout on dice... but a 5% instant return on a near sure thing isn't really all that bad...

At the end of the day, sports betting comes down to you vs. the bookie... it isn't just mathematical chance and probability...
10004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Dice Strategy also known as Martingale vs Your Bitcoin Dice Strategy? on: September 17, 2016, 05:48:18 AM
Max bets and variance will see your martingale system fail eventually... even if you try to "adjust" it slightly... you just cannot escape the math.

I ran a system out of curiosity to see how long before the "impossible" happened... was running on a 10% chance of winning with a 9.9x payout, increase on loss of 11.235% type strategy... want to guess what my longest losing streak was at 10% chance??

For those who aren't that great at math 10% means I should theoretically win 1 in every 10 rolls...

My longest losing streak before I ran out of funds to continue... was 103 rolls... that is correct ONE HUNDRED AND THREE losses in a row... and this was on a provably fair site that I trust not to cheat or do other funny stuff... Granted, it took something like 400,000 rolls before this bad run happened... but I was regularly getting 80+ loss streaks...

Even if you did have an unlimited amount of money to gamble with... the max bet limit would eventually ensure that you lose. There is a reason casinos don't go out of business very often... Wink
10005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: September 17, 2016, 05:39:15 AM
It is not just bitcoin gambling... it is just gambling in general. I work at a casino in real life... and I've seen some pretty "scary" stuff when it comes to problem gambling (kids left in cars, people in tears because they can't even afford to pay their carparking etc). We have a whole department dedicated to assisting people with gambling problems. We offer a whole range of help and support like counselling, temp bans, self-exclusion and as a last resort a casino initiated ban that can see people barred for up to 2 years.

Unfortunately, this doesn't stop them going elsewhere, gambling online, gambling on horses etc... but hopefully it wakes them up enough that they have a problem and seek help.

Like a lot of things in this world (food, alcohol, drugs, adrenaline)... some people just can't seem to enjoy in moderation and end up on a downward spiral... when it comes to gambling, setting yourself hard limits and only ever playing with what you can afford is the best option...

Remember, it is supposed to be a form of entertainment... like going to the movies or theatre... don't ever gamble to make money... it isn't sustainable in the long run... you can't beat the math.
10006  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betting website with faucet ? on: September 17, 2016, 05:31:39 AM
If you use Telegram... you can try @BookieBigBot... they cover a wide range of sports... and they also have a 0.00001 daily faucet... which is basically the minimum bet amount. So you can get 1 free bet per day.

Telegram has Android and iOS apps... and you can even get desktop versions or use the web based one...
10007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: September 17, 2016, 05:24:29 AM
That's exactly how the stop on win button works and that's exactly how a built in stop on win function would work if I ever implemented it. It's so simple that I likely won't implement it though. You can even set stopOnWin =true from the console to force it to stop on the next win.
Which is pretty much what I do... good to know that my "hack" is more or less how the builtin stuff works... maybe my coding skills aren't as rusty as I thought they might be Wink

Hopefully this code sample my be of some assistance to others... Although a lot of players I've come across tend to just let the bot run until they hit some profit level or bust out Tongue
10008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you know anygame which is player vs player on: September 17, 2016, 05:20:56 AM
I have seen an agar.io clone that was bitcoin based... ie. you paid into a pot to play and there were prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd etc... not sure I would rank it as completely based on skill tho, there is a certain amount of luck involved in games like that.

I guess you could possibly classify poker as being PvP as well...
10009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 17, 2016, 05:11:11 AM
Well... I guess that whatever happens over the rest of the weekend, I don't really care, because Liverpool beat Chelsea... and in some style too... Origi was unlucky not to add a 3rd goal around 80mins... nice save by the Chelsea keeper kept them in with a sniff...

Good to see the Liverpool lads playing like I knew they could... #YNWA

Hopefully the rest of my picks work out as well Wink
10010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: September 16, 2016, 02:14:42 AM
Is there a builtin "Stop on Win" function within the bot? Something that functions like the button in Advanced mode? I usually run some sort of martingale system, and I like to do short 100 roll runs. I don't like ending on a loss, so once I've hit the stop limit (profit, number of rolls or whatever), I like to continue until I get a win so I end up positive.

I've already coded a solution, but was hoping there might be something a little cleaner than my hack Wink The basics of my solution involve a global boolean variable. If whatever end condition we have setup is reached, for instance 100 rolls have been completed, we set this boolean to true, and on the next win, stop().
Code:
stopOnWin = false

function dobet()

    if (endCondition is reached) then
        print("stopping on next win")
        stopOnWin = true
    end

    if win then

        do win stuff here

        if stopOnWin then
            print stats for this run
            stop()
        else
            adjust bet and continue
        end
    else

        do loss stuff here
        adjust bet and continue

    end

end

One side effect of this approach, is that at any time during a run, I can just enter "stopOnWin = true" and the script will stop on next win, like hitting the button... but I'm curious if this functionality is builtin in and exposed in programmer mode, given that the button is there on the GUI.
10011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 16, 2016, 01:05:08 AM
Looks like a weekend in the EPL that should have some good picks...

  • Chelsea v Liverpool - Going to go slightly against the grain and say Liverpool here, mostly because I can get a double chance at almost 2.00 payout Wink
  • Hull City v Arsenal - Easy win to Arsenal
  • Man. City v Bournemouth - Man. City should dominate this
  • West Brom v West Ham - Tough call, DNB on West Ham maybe?
  • Leicester City v Burnley FC - Leicester look like they've finally decided to play some football, Home win here
  • Everton v Middlesbrough - Everton have started strong, expect another solid win here
  • Watford v Man United - ManU will be fired up after losing to Feyenord, I expect a good away win for them here
  • Crystal Palace v Stoke City - Probably DNB Crystal Palace... but you never can tell in these games might have to skip this one
  • Southampton v Swansea City - On paper should be Southampton... but they haven't had a good start to the season... Think I'll skip this one
  • Tottenham v Sunderland - Shock loss to Monaco should see Tottenham pull out all the stops this weekend, DNB on Spurs I think

From these 10 games, I think that 5 of them should be fairly easy ML wins, 3 should probably be DrawNoBet or DoubleChance... and the other 2, well I think I'll just not bet on...
10012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: September 16, 2016, 12:47:14 AM
I have to say that I'm glad I missed the latest round of Champions League and Europa league action due to being busy with personal stuff... I think I would have lost quite a few bitcoins looking at some of the results...

As usual, both had a few draws and a couple of upsets... Can't say I'm unhappy about the ManU/Feyenord result... mostly because I really dislike Morinho Tongue

Think I'll go see what the EPL has to offer for the weekend Wink
10013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ★ Free Soccer Predictions From shield132 ★ Worlds most popular 4 league ★ on: August 28, 2016, 07:38:39 AM
You have another follower here. I really appreciate the fact that you are including your analysis and reasoning into why you are picking the games you are picking.

This makes me think a lot more about the bets that I am placing, rather than blindly following what your predictions are (not that I ever really do this anyway, as I always like to investigate picks properly rather than going blindly on faith).

Also, your analysis and reasoning is pretty short and to the point and easy to understand. Best of luck for the rest of the season Wink

PS. I have one tip for you... be careful with "bumping" your thread too often (more than once per 24 hours) by posting results etc in a new post rather than editing the original prediction post. A couple of tipsters have been warned/temp-banned for this in recent history... and I'd hate to see you suffer the same fate
10014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: August 28, 2016, 07:31:58 AM
I have found a strategy for dice that seems to be relatively stable and profitable. Obviously, it is not guaranteed, as the maths of dice, variance and house edge dictate that sooner or later, I will likely lose everything... but for now it seems to be a nice, slow and steady profit... and I'm kinda interested in how long I can actually go before I either lose it all, or make it to my target goal having started with around 500,000 satoshis (0.005 btc).

It is a relatively straightforward "martingale" technique using Seuntjie's dicebot. I have been using a 9.9x payout on dice, which equates to a 10.02% chance of winning on the dice site that I use. I use a 11.235% multiplier on loss (1.11235 in dicebot) and a basebet of 10 satoshi's (0.00000010 btc).

For this strat to have a chance of working, you really want a bankroll of at least 60,000 x your base basebet (in this instance 600,000 sats or 0.006 btc). This will allow you to sustain an 80 roll loss streak, which is surprisingly common on a 10% chance of winning. Seems to average around once every 20,000-30,000 rolls. Thankfully, I didn't hit one until I had over 0.01 btc, so I was nice and safe and my longest loss streak is 87, although another user told me they got 130!!?!  Shocked

Honestly tho, once you get into "systems" and "strategies" and the like for gambling, it kind of takes the fun out of it.  Undecided
10015  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitPistol - Are you smart enough to solve these puzzles? >>>TEST your brains <<< on: August 28, 2016, 07:17:19 AM
There is a picture of gun on the puzzle, it is certainly one given in conditions of puzzle, pretty sure it has automatic firearm mode, mby it is come kind of clue?
But most firearms of that type are not exclusively automatic. Generally they will have a semi-automatic/single shot fire mode as well. Tongue

Like a lot of puzzles, there will always be room for interpretation unless the puzzle is relatively simple and straightforward. However, in my opinion, it would make sense to take the simplest view, unless the puzzle stipulates otherwise, to avoid unnecessarily complicating things. eg. postulating about shatter proof glass etc.
10016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: August 28, 2016, 07:12:10 AM
Wow... this weeks Europa League games almost ruined me... I was even relatively cautious and only bet on what I thought were 4 relatively safe bets... and then BOOM! draws and crazy results all over the place.

*sigh*... I really should know better by now to stay away from Europa league betting... way too unpredictable for the odds on offer Tongue
10017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 28, 2016, 07:10:15 AM
Seems like the weekend has been fairly predictable so far... not too much out of the ordinary results wise... maybe a few scores that were a little surprising (0-1 for ManU over Hull). Honestly, not even really surprised at the draw between Spurs and Liverpool.

2 games to go this weekend, and I would think that WBA v Middlesborough will be a draw... and that ManCity v. West Ham will be a comfortable victory for City.

At least these games have been more predictable than the Europa League Tongue
10018  Economy / Services / Re: How can be more productive online? on: August 28, 2016, 07:04:02 AM
Well I think you can first invest your time in studying a skill and then when you think that you are ready for a job related to it then you can start applying.
This is probably the best advice you will get. Rather than waste time on low paying, no skill jobs now, which will return not much more than if you did nothing at all, you would be better off spending your time learning new skills to make yourself more marketable and able to pick up better paying jobs.

There are plenty of "free" online courses to help learn and develop all sorts of useful, in demand skills. I know that MIT offer all sorts of free online courses in a wide variety of topics. Have a look through their catalogue and see if you can't find something that interests you.
10019  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Help] ESCROW on: August 28, 2016, 06:54:02 AM
I think the most obvious question that most people are going to ask is, why?

Why would you want to setup as an escrow? Is it to make money? If so, that seems like a very hard way to go about making money... there are plenty of escrows that are either free or with very small margins. How do you propose to compete with such low fees? Also, without high levels of trust and reputation, it will be difficult to find customers willing to use your service anyway.

If you are wanting to setup an escrow business to simply help the community... then while I admire your desire to try to help... there are already plenty of services here that already do it quite successfully and having another one, just makes it more muddled and confusing for someone looking for an escrow service, thereby possibly not helping the community at all.

Good luck
10020  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SIGNS OF SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN on: August 28, 2016, 06:44:43 AM
It really isn't that difficult, but like most things requires a little bit of effort on behalf of the user:

1. Check the campaign manager. The decent managers here don't want to taint their reputations by getting involved in a bad/scam campaign. If a well respected campaign manager is fronting the campaign, chances are it is legit.

2. Escrow. If funds are not being escrowed with a 3rd party, that is a big red flag. Ask yourself... Why is this service unwilling to front up the money for the campaign? If they don't have it free and available to pay for the campaign, they shouldn't be running the campaign/making promises they obviously can't keep.

3. Check the product/service being promoted. Is it a legit product/service in it's own right? This is a bit more of a judgement call especially with sites that are trying to use campaigns to promote themselves in the early days, but a little bit of research and investigation will help give a decent chance of recognising legitimate sites as opposed to scams.
