1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: south korea is not banning bitcoin, but why the bitcoin price is still falling? on: February 05, 2018, 02:16:25 AM
a few weeks ago, the outstanding issues that the bitcoin price falls due to south korea plans to ban bitcoin. but until now, after the south Korean government announced officially does not prohibit bitcoin, the bitcoin price is still down.

Some of this issues may really affect the current price of bitcoin. Tho I think that the current situation of South Korea towards bitcoin does not really affect too much of it's price. Yet more likely users now are starting to convert their amounts which then leads to sudden decrease of bitcoin's price. Of course they are more likely would have to take their profits.
1142  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: why bitcoin illegal in asia? on: February 02, 2018, 05:45:42 PM
bitcoin illegal  some asia country bt why?can you give me some reason about this?? thanks

Different perspective for every country in asia. Some of this country wants to gain something from it and if not then they will surely ban it. While on the other hand some Asian countries wanted to learn more about this type of currency so they could give a better information to its people in order to protect them. Lastly would be those country who already adopted it and was able to find an abuse or loopholes that can be fatal to its economy
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum? on: February 02, 2018, 04:35:05 PM
Ethereum is already 70% of Bitcoin.  It has been getting stronger for two months now.  It will probably pass Bitcoin by the end of March.  There is no future in Bitcoin.  They are making no technical advance in over two years as LN is proving to be a total centralized pig fuck - that doesn't even work.

Are you talking about the price? Cause if so it is pretty obvious that the eth price to far from 70%. If you are talking about the users then we should have to verify that first. Are they really not making any technical adjustments towards bitcoin? I think they do. Tho it was just failing all over again
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum? on: February 02, 2018, 05:08:32 AM
One plus on Ethereum's side, the market price is nowhere near as volatile at present.

ethereum has been more stable than bitcoin for how many years. Yet people still acknowledge bitcoin why? Simple cause even if bitcoin is more volatile. It has a much better reputation in terms in most cases. So as long as bitcoin is still alive ethereum can always be at the second spot or worse
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Separate Computer for Bitcoin/Financial Information vs Personal? on: January 31, 2018, 04:28:43 PM
I like to add to this.  If i were to get a separate computer to do things such as download porn/stream tv shows and sites etc... what would you recommend?  A regular laptop or a chromebook?

Also someone mentioned that even if you use a separate computer... if you were to use your regular internet connection, a virus could still get to your network?  For example on the laptop i mainly use, i would be using my own internet connection.  But with the separate computer, even if its a different computer and i download porn/visit dangerous sites etc but i use my own internet... then its possible to get hacked?  So i would need to use another internet connection to download porn/stream tv show and sports etc?

To answer your question of to why do we still need to separate our financial information to our personal wants using a different devices even if we are still using the same connection. Yes, it is true that even if we do so have different devices our internet connections are still very fragile to any viruses. But the good thing here is that you separates your financial information into other device in which as long as you did not connect that device to your broadband while downloading then that is merely safe.
1146  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To travel is to live on: January 28, 2018, 01:47:00 AM
Have anyone traveled using only bitcoin as a payment method and/or exchange currency?
Actually its not yet well implemented about travelling using bitcoin as payment. Maybe Government agencies and private sectors are not considered bitcoin as  a fiat currency.
Travelling using bitcoin as payment is not yet implemented if this can be implemented i can travel to a country that i want . Travelling is one of my dreams to fulfilled , eversince i was a kid i always said to mu parents that someday i want to travel in different countries when i am in exact age. And i want to tell my children in the future the story of my travels in different countries in this world , my experiences in travelling.

True for not yet implemented. Yet this does not apply to all the countries. You can still travel to some places in which you can definitely spend bitcoins and most of it are on the western side.

Here are some countries where you can try to visit without worrying of spending bitcoin

1.denmark
2.sweden
3. Japan
4. Finland
5. Uk

But this are some of the examples only i pressume that there were actually a lot more. Maybe you were wondering as well. Why havent I included the south korea even if it is one of the top countries that uses bitcoin. It is because they are having an issue right now with regards to crypto currency and you don't want to end up right there having nothing cause you can't use your bitcoin wallet
1147  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is the best thing that happend to new users on: January 26, 2018, 05:55:02 PM
The reason I don't understand how this stops account farmers, is consider this:

Assume an account farmer with an extremely large number of accounts has roughly the same number of mean Merits per post as a normal user.
If he gets 100 Merits, he also gets 50 sMerits. He then redistributes these 50 sMerits amongst his accounts. Assuming he has planned this well, he should be discreet about it, and in the end he'll get 25 more sMerits to distribute.

Once you calculate the entire thing, you realize that for every Merit the account farmer receives, he gets close to a total of two Merits across his entire group of accounts, once you account for sMerits.

Counterargument:
Quote
Also it will be pretty easy to detect such collusion as everyone can see who you give your merit points to.

I think this might just be the Toupee Fallacy.
You only ever notice that bad colluders are performing collusion, so you assume that everyone who colludes will be readily noticeable.
When collusion goes well, and with the merit system, I think it might be easy to hide, you will not notice it... and hence assume that the only people who collude, are the ones who obviously collude.

So in the end, account farmers get twice the merit across their accounts for the same quality of posts.... which is an issue, but I guess it's not the worst.

It's a good point to discuss with. In some cases this merit sometimes can be abused of course. I am pretty sure that theymos and other admins have already discussed this type of issues. It will then eventually improves the merit feature by adding other functionalities. I guess it still goes back to the role of the moderator. Any proven circumstances of merit abuse shall be reported and investigated. I was just thinking tho if the main account of spammer can really abuse it since there are limitations in sending a merit and if you are not receiving one then you surely cant share it as well
1148  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 26, 2018, 07:39:58 AM
I wish there would have been some sort of option of giving dislike (-ve merit) to the spam/LQ posts and if any post receives certain -ve merits/dislikes,it should be automatically deleted /hidden

That is not a good idea in my opinion. Basically i agree on why did theymos didn't add the demerit function. We have a report to moderator option that we could use if we ever saw someone trying to post a garbage. Deleting someones post is basically the job of the mods. Allowing users to delete posts without due process will be so unethical tho. Will you allow someone to discredit your post without having a due process? Obviously not
1149  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To travel is to live on: January 25, 2018, 04:42:22 PM
As I was a kid. I really don't any interest going to places, yet as I grow older. I started to enjoy going into places. Learning new culture, understanding and enjoying the company of other people that has different culture. Aside from the beautiful landmarks that i want to visit in the specific places. What I really enjoyed the most is the new type of foods that I get a chance to eat. Now why I think about travelling worth to live for? I can ask you back if you don't travel is it worthy to live for?
1150  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I Go To College ??? on: January 24, 2018, 05:43:02 PM
Don't miss this kind of opportunity when you have a capacity to go to college. Mostly today's professional careers need to be a college level or graduates degree. This is more important in order to get a high salary grade job. Big companies demand for it for the efficacy of their employee into works achievement.

The experience  is really great yet it will still varies to the student. If is really willing to learn then he surely gets the high paying jobs someday that you were talking about. However if he or she doesnt show interest to the topics or lessons or will never persevere to learn then he or she will end up nothing in the future. I know some
1151  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum after 5 years? on: January 24, 2018, 04:13:36 PM
Guys, stop being SO DUMB.
Ethereum will always be much more beter than bitcoin, only if bitcoin does not implement the Lightning network.
What is most profitable to invest for 5 years ?BT or ETH
For me, it is the same, only that with etherum you only pay $0,80 worth of fees. LMAO
That doesnt mean that you are a pro ethereum user you can easily say that it is indeed better than bitcoin. Bitcoin has a better reputation a longer span probably the longest as of the moment. Yes i must say that ethereum is much stable than bitcoin and it is really a good coin. But it is still yet not to be considered as much better coin than btc and it can also not make us a dumb
1152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do we need to gamble? on: January 22, 2018, 05:29:57 PM
Primarily, we gamble to entertain ourself or to atleast waste some time. However more people right now are currently abusing it or shall we say being addicted to it. Gamble in moderation can really be fun specially  if you do play with your friends and there is only a few buck that are involved
1153  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum after 5 years? on: January 22, 2018, 04:33:51 PM
Bitcoin and ethereum is a great coin and have large number of users and have great performance in market and still improving their performance and are getting more users with a quick speed and price is also increasing and in 5 years bitcoin and ethereum will get high popularity and most probably will get legalization in various countries.

Yes they do. Ethereum is always at the back of bitcoin however the price really varies alot since we have to consider bitcoin's superiority. The advantage of ethereum is that basically it has a way more stabled platform that currently bitcoin have and this could lead into a better future IMO than the current bitcoin scenario
1154  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What proof we have that prices are not all fake on: January 22, 2018, 11:21:51 AM
It is indeed really hard to determined every single exchanges that are currently circulating in the industry. Even the known exchanges can still be a part of scamming. I don't know if this will work but you can try to search the address of where are you going to deposit your amounts.
1155  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 Year in Cryptocurrency still no luck earning bitcoin. Need some real advice. on: January 22, 2018, 08:59:56 AM
There are a lot of ways to be able to earn bitcoins. There are signature campaigns, mining, trading, and doing tasks from websites that offer you btc in return.
According to me, the lack of knowledge and the lack of interest in the world of crypto currency can be the possible reasons of losing money and not making anything good even being there in crypto currency. You really need to make a self-analysis and you need to figure out the actual problem. This will give you a fair idea of what the problem is actually and correcting that will help you in making more money.

Right basically it is all about how knowlegable a does a person when it comes to bitcoin investments. Tho there are really methods in which you dont have to spend a single penny. I think one year of bitcoin experience is too much in order for you to learn atleast the basic of the cryptocurrency and were able to determined what the problems are. Yet it seems that the op still fails to recognize it
1156  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: January 22, 2018, 03:44:53 AM
To be a 100% drug free would be hard to achieve. But a single drug pusher taken out solves at least some of the causes of crime related incidents. Many lives will be spared because this single drug pusher caters to many of these addicted users. I think the Presidents efforts have paid off. He had eradicated most of the big time drug dealers and now drugs are not so rampant and they are hiding in fear.

I have to admit that every time I went to the office at 12 am. I find very scary walking on the street waiting for a cab before DUTERTE became a president.  Yet now I fear not the drug addicts anymore but the police that was roaming around sometimes and would look at me like as if I may be one of them.
1157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC to FIAT on: January 21, 2018, 11:45:07 PM
I hear from some people that when selling a large amount of Bitcoin and having that money hit their UK bank account,  the bank has froze their money or notified them they will close their account.

Other people say they had no issues and no one has said anything.

Have you have any problems and more importantly who gave you the best rates and was the least hassle to deal with.

It depends of course. I've noticed that most of the people saying that their account was frozen upon withdrawing didn't state where or what is the source of that certain amount(So as the bank's "Security Features" they are going to investigate your account). Unlike those who've stated or has documents where are the funds came from has no issues.
1158  Economy / Marketplace / Re: "Bitcoin mining is a Big no!" on: January 21, 2018, 11:08:25 PM
Cloudmining is not good for you,  brcause after few months for sure they will close that.  Many cloudming close now even they are trusted they have possibility to close or turn into scam . Better if tou mine at your own,  but you need capital because you can buy equipment and pay electricity bill and that's okay because this is safe instead of investing in cloudming your money is not safe to them.  But it depends to your location if it's good to mine or not because you need to checke first the electricity bills if they are expensive or not. Many people use solar to prevent high electricity bill you can do that also if you want.

Cloud mining was never been safe. Tho I must have to admit that there are real companies who were doing it. I've experience investing in it(This site is still up right now). Tho I wasn't able to get my capital. I instead sell my share and withdraw it.  In the end, you just have to be smarter in spending your capital as an investment.
1159  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin versus other offline currencies on: January 21, 2018, 10:41:08 PM
As a NEWBIE, how would you explain bitcoin as against other offline currencies?
Which one has more market value and why do you think so ?

Since we are talking bitcoin comparison to other currencies(I assumed you were talking about currencies like USD, YEN etc.). This can simply be determined if you were trying to spend using an offline currency and bitcoin. Offline currency still needs to be converted to other offline currencies when you are in the other part of the world. Unlike bitcoin in which you don't have to worry withdrawing nor converting it
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KFC to accept Bitcoin! on: January 21, 2018, 10:13:32 PM
The more mainstream big companies that accept it, the more "legitimate" it becomes, which is good for all of us hodlers. So, I say this is great news!

Wrong, The more companies who were trying to experiment bitcoin. The more the government will be digging in on how are they get some profit from it. Else, the current situation of South Korea in which it will be more difficult for the holders to buy and sell cryptocurrency as the government started to ban it.
