1541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 15, 2020, 09:29:06 PM
Chance based games are good for the guys with no skill.

Let's assume you are playing Chess  (no Blackjack this time sorry but you can also replace chess with dota if you want Smiley) and you are making bets with the other player over the game result.

If you are a bad player, you'll lose most of the games whether you bet big or small.

Dice games remove that issue for you. Not everybody is super smart or knows well how to play games that require good skill.
If you're playing with some other players and the game have complex mechanics like chess or dota, definitely it's not a chance-based game 'cause obviously it requires massive thinking and strategy that will let you win the game. Poker is a complex gambling game with opponents too, you need to think of a strategy that will bluff and fool those opponents. I'm agreeing with your statement that chance game are better for those who haven't given a good IQ, it'll make them easier to play.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: May 15, 2020, 09:19:21 PM
How about we take a god damn break from sports or any other event that can worsen the pandemic for just a little while, and work on ourselves instead?

If the government does not need to balance the economy, we can just all stay at our home and just rely from the support of the government, however, that seems to be unrealistic if we expect that to happen, there is no assurance when this pandemic will stop and therefore these businesses that was affected will get bankrupt if they will not operate again, for me, there is nothing wrong to operate again as long as they do the right measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
Right, as long as there's safety measures and everything will be followed strictly under the government jurisdiction, this plan fight may proceed, there are fans and gamblers who are waiting for this and for sure Bob Arum knew the potentials of getting huge amounts of money coming from those gamblers who are waiting for this to take place.
Even if we follow some preventive measures to avoid spreading of the virus which is COVID-19, it's impossible. That's why it's better to cancel those events and forget about the profit, think about the lives especially those who sacrifice themselves just to maintain the health care system. It's kinda unfair for those who're in the medical field, some of them died already because of this virus, so be mindful and forget about the business and profits from gambling. The sports athlete is also a human who can be affected by the virus if the sports competition continues, this is only my opinion.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 15, 2020, 08:08:01 PM
a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion
For me, this is the best answer since COVID-19 is not a normal virus (that's why it reaches the pandemic level) so definitely the vaccine will take a lot of months before it was made. I doubt even you implement a sports tournament with minimal staff and players, it's safe already.

But if the WHO or world health organization found a temporary solution for COVID-19 then maybe they can implement the sports competition. Also, if the confirmed cases per day slow down, I guess we can go for the (b).

1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 15, 2020, 06:59:46 PM

Sometimes they need to commit a mistake before they realize. There are really people who are not responsible in facing the crisis, they just think it's the same situation we are in the past, so they'll continue to do their old practice.

There are lots of people starting to ignore all the warnings like "stay home", "keep distance" etc. They think like we are going back to normal but on the other hand some other people still keep dying at hospitals and they don't even realize they might be the next to die.

I agree with you first sentence but in this case I am afraid that mistake can become too fatal.

That is what they are not aware of because they continue to make mistakes during this pandemic, I feel sorry for the medical staff they continue to work day and night to handle cases like this while people always make very fatal mistakes, of course if you are already in the hospital then that there is a crisis and it might die because with the covid-19 virus it's very fast to die.

Even though we have applied lockdow or social distance, there are still many who violate it.
I guess people are just stubborn for not following the orders of the government. They thought it will not cause a huge problem if they still go outside their houses. Same with me, I feel sorry for those front-liners who bet their lives just to maintain the health care in our country and also, the security that maintains the lockdown of every community. Sometimes there's people who still play just to play gambling outside their houses so I really those people who don't follow community orders.
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 15, 2020, 05:33:10 PM
Quarantine is boring and my gambling life is not healthy anymore because of this, Lol. Seriously, this quarantine makes me realize that gambling is not that important and if I want to become more happy, I can spend time with my family and laugh together. Though I will still not give up my gambling hobby, but after this quarantine I'll go for more time with my family and friends, and keeping healthy always.
You can do both spending your time in your family while playing gambling because if you play 1 hour less or even 10 minutes once you reach your target winning you can stop it and try again to play tomorrow . They have players who did not have enough time to the gamily because they are spending a lot of time in playing every things that we xan we need a plan and time management.
Well, it's better for me to be with your family and have some quality time than gambling during the quarantine. It's the same with me, I 'm tired of it all, because I'm getting those entertainments that I didn't get when I was busy at school. So right now, I'm just spending time with my family, and I understand some people who are tired of gambling because they're playing 24/7 due to quarantine.
1546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: May 15, 2020, 04:25:04 PM
It's almost not happening anymore because the whole esports industry thing is getting wider and wider as it goes by so, the athletes or mainly the competitive and professional players are serious with their careers and won't allow themselves to be involved in this kind of scheme.
The teams or players that becomes part of this scheme lately are the rising talents or in short, the newly born talents with potential and it's been put into waste.
I guess match-fixing still occurs, it's being done pretty clean nowadays so that nobody can assess that kind of scheme. Not only in CS:GO, but also in other eSports tournaments, particularly in MOBA. Before they qualify for an international competition, every region competes for a slot. So if a strong team is able to exploit the entire bracket by match-fixing, they will select which team to represent the country with them in the international tournament. It's a cheap tactic to be used due to the extreme desperation of winning an international league with a huge pot.
It still occurs but chances are slimmer these days. If the players involve plans to get in to the competitive scene, they will not create a ruckus like this that they will regret forever.
I have witnessed a lot of talents that do have the potential but suddenly fell into the pit because of not thinking doing this. This is for the other e-sporting events that I also play.
Well, due to the current ability of eSports players today, they can run it cleanly as what I said at some point, that is common for them and we really have no clue about it. Being an eSports professional is a short-term profession because they won't be a pro gamer in their whole life, some eSports careers are just 3-4 years out, so it's easier to be realistic and do their best in the league.
Speaking of match-fixing, here's flash news for y'all. This is not a CSGO team but since you guys are curious about it, here's a dota 2 scenario.

A group of Dota 2 team was banned in a tournament due to match-fixing so therefore, match-fixing still exists today. Such dirty tricks like these should be prohibited because there are many aspiring teams that are much better to win the tournament.

1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 15, 2020, 03:20:22 PM
Welcome to Chinese Dota  Smiley

https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/gk5ih4/newbee_banned_from_participating_imbatv_events/

"There has been much speculation about various teams the Chinese tournaments fixing matches, and Newbee's success as an organization has dropped significantly since early 2018. Sources have said that the match fixing has been going on since the departure of Sccc, and Fenrir, with the organization losing swiftly in some Tier 3 events in the playoff stages. With everything returning back to the online tournament environment, the spread of match fixing continues to be a rampant issue within the Tier 2/3 Dota 2 scene."
Dang, one big news in Chinese doto.

The glory days for Newbee was already done. I don't also understand why they've become a weak despite being one of the best in the world. This will be very hard for them once Valve steps in and gives them another hammer.

What if Sccc and Fenrir have already smelled this before that's why left?
Avengerls have a huge lead but instantly lose the fight to Newbee, how is that possible?

I guess they already knew about it 'cause if they're really pro players, definitely it will hurt their pride since they're always doing their best for the team but realizes that there's a match-fixing happening. After that, newbee was banned but why Avengerls is not banned?

There's a thread about the existence of match-fixing these modern tournaments and this news is the answer to that.
1548  Economy / Economics / Re: The unfortunate event that is Quarantine. on: May 15, 2020, 02:58:03 PM
This scenario that we're facing now makes me heartbroken and sad 'cause I'm thinking those who aren't capable of eating 3 times a day and those who don't have shelters especially now because there's a typhoon.

This virus really exposes the broken system of each nation especially here in the Philippines, there are not enough funds to sustain the health care system and needed to rely on some countries for PPEs and mask.

Some people said that the coronavirus is the antidote for the pollution, overpopulation, and many more but for me, it's kinda unfair for those innocents who were affected by this virus.
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: Rebooting the World after the COVID-19 Shutdown on: May 15, 2020, 02:25:45 PM
IMO, even you unplug and plug the world again, you can't change the behavior of the humans, rebooting is not possible. As long as the living things in this world are irresponsible, it'll just go back to the world where full of pollution and calamities. The same scenarios will just happen again in the future, this is the cycle of life. The full reboot is when humanity was dispersed.

Well, there are many calamities, disasters and pandemic happened all over the years, yet the world recovers itself normal after that especially to the world economy. Economy might be down but economy will recover after we can find a cure and be back to normal flow of life what we left behind. So, in my opinion no need to the world to reset, we just have to more ready and be prepared next time if there is another pandemic hit the world but hopefully no more to come so that we can enjoy more life outside our home.
If we're talking about the economy, it's easy to recover, it just takes time especially if you have some good leaders in your country but if not, then maybe they will rely upon to China.
1550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 15, 2020, 12:59:39 PM
This is already common and known by a lot of gamblers.

Those luck-based gambling are games that don't require thinking 'cause you just need to bet and pick your desired slot. Obviously, the common winners of these luck-based gambling games are those who're lucky.

Skill-based are only applicable to complex games like poker which you need to be more strategic and have psychological thinking to ensure your win.
1551  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Time High:: 2020 or 2021 ? on: May 15, 2020, 12:35:04 PM
New ATH is possible in 2020, we are currently in Q2 but the bitcoin is resisting to reach the $10k peak. Therefore, as in 2017, ATH will occur in the Q3 & Q4 of the year 2020. Well, this is only my opinion and there's a chance that the new ATH will occur in 2021 since the other markets aren't stable right now.

I have no idea and it is really hard to tell. I read a lot of guesses and predictions that this ath will happen by next year. But no one really knows what will happen. But right now, it seems impossible because bitcoin is still having a hard time to pass $10k.
It already reached the $10k peak last may 9, so definitely it will easily surpass $10k soon. Even though it takes longer, it is still possible, that's why it keeps pushing and resisting towards up.
1552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: May 14, 2020, 06:23:44 PM
Of course, being a developer of blockchain is in high demand as it is not only important in the cryptocurrency. Blockchain is currently being used as one of the largest blockchain networks in different fields, such as finance, politics, and technology.

Blockchain is the mainstream when it comes to a network so we can quickly build different A.I. Usage of proprietary and open-source data from the system. Therefore, technology is going to advance and develop really fast as blockchain adaptation occurs in various aspects.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving 2020 on: May 14, 2020, 06:15:02 PM
Price is looking good at $9680, I think in a few months when the halving has taken full effect we could see a new yearly high. I’m calling $15,000 by the end of 2020.
Even we can break the ATH (All Time High) if the current pandemic decrease because people/institutions are having more interest in bitcoin even in this situation. Also keyword of "Bitcoin" in google trends are rapidly increasing.
.......
Whenever it's increase in google trends that indicate more people are having interest in bitcoin. If this is continuously increased than it's sure that can easly break the ATH before year ending.
I guess it's not about the pandemic anymore.

When the pandemic occurs, it goes down to $6,000 from $9,000 peak but now it managed to go back and be stable on the $9,000 peak. The current bitcoin market is running smoothly and probably it will go high in the Q3-Q4 with or without the pandemic.
1554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The One Biggest Lesson Lesson you've learnt from Bitcoins Investment on: May 10, 2020, 08:21:01 PM
my big lesson is probably something that has happened to many people:

when I started to trade I had some habits that don't let me think correctly, I bought bitcoin for $8000 for example and when the price dropped to $7800 I still believed that the price would go up again. When I woke up the next day the price had already dropped to $7200 and I still believed that the price would recover, it would pass a few days and the price would drop to $6800, I was irritated by it ... until I sold it and the next day the price started to rise to the point of exceeding $8000. it happened to me more than 10 times until i started using Stop - Limit and that's how the cycle of losses ended, but i must say it was a great lesson i learned and it took a long time to learn
Is this is a sign for me to stay calm?  Huh

I failed to convert my BTC because I was sleeping at the time when the BTC goes down the $8k mark and I still regret it. I do hope BTC's going back to a $9.8k high, so halving is one of my excuses for holding it off. Recently, I began to think that I should sell it now because it's going down to a $7k peak, but I remember that BTC was really playful, it's going down, then after a couple of days or a week, it's going to go up. Thank you for your insight, I'm still doubting, and thankfully I've read your post, and it's going to serve as a reminder for me too.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ₿ Bitcoin Halving Attracts World Attention on: May 10, 2020, 07:35:24 PM
Even in local news, bitcoin was the content because of halving.
I always seeing ads and promotional video that uses the term bitcoin halving to attract many users. I think that is the reason why other people are now curious and wanted to invest in bitcoin. Many people ask me how to invest in bitcoin but I only reply not to invest now because it's very late and halving is almost 1 day left. It will be a waste of money because we are not sure if it will have a good surge.
This is the moment for them to take the chance of halving, so if you know someone who was interested in bitcoin and he / she wasn't familiar with it, better help and don't let him invest in any HYIP or Ponzi schemes. Social media networks are one of the targets of some crypto companies that are searching for any investors on their site.

Even an old friend who lost her BTC after login to a phishing website is trying to buy BTC yesterday. She must have subscribed to a news site where BTC was featured since she PM me with the link of halving.  Quite a media exposure and I'm more are going to be buying back to profit in crypto.
It's very risky to buy bitcoin during the mid-year period , particularly when the halving is already close, there are a lot of unforeseeable moments so I hope he won't regret it if there's a massive drop in BTC 's price where he can purchase more.

Round 9 Payments have been sent out!

Thank you all for another great week! Hope you are staying safe and healthy, still. Bitcoin pumping here and halving within arms length at least makes it feel somewhat better.

No new spots have opened up.
Thanks @Hhampuz for this another week! I received payment.
Stay safe always!
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 08, 2020, 10:40:50 PM
Oh wow lots of the favourites got badly raped today.

NaVi VP Nemiga Alliance

Ouch

Yeah, even it's happening in both esports games which are Dota 2 and CSGO. Is this a coincidence? Grin

But actually, in Dota 2, the favored teams did not have much difference in performance from the team they were against (based on the group stage result).

It's really difficult to predict esport games. The inconsistency is very high.

I don't think it is coincidence. Since COVID-19 started all tournaments switched to online and players are playing from their homes. It makes a lot of different to the game approach and mentality... Some teams are relaxed, other teams are having fun or are just better online. Etc... This lockdown changed a lot of things, and inconsistency is one of them. That's why it's lot harder to bet currently. There are no favourites and underdogs basically.
This is true, there are huge differences playing on-stage and online. Recently, in CSGO, I bet on Astralis in ESL pro league 11 but didn't expect that they will lose to mouz. Those who bet on Fnatic were very lucky and that's already a proof of inconsistency during online tournaments. Some have a good internet connection and the others have some average speed that depends on the server. There's a lot of factors that must be considered in online tournaments so better not to bet on your teams right now and be tactical.

I had a few bets on fnatic that went well.  Thanks for the tips.

In normal times do the teams usually sit together? so they can call out for help and stuff without skype or something?
During these times, when the tournament is nearby, they are already practicing at the HQ of the team. Pro players also have their bases so that they can train with each other. It's hard to rely on discord, which is a gaming voice chat platform, or other voice chat, as others may not hear your voice clearly because of a poor internet connection. It's always easier to play with one another. But if the team composed of different people from different countries, it's really hard to play, there's only a few confidence on that scene,
1558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some People Cannot Stop The Urge To Sports Betting And Gamble Even In Pandemic on: May 08, 2020, 10:33:27 PM
Maybe they're just bored and don't know what to do in their respective houses.

My dad always plays gambling and chess occasionally, so I just came to the realization that he just needed to get occupied during this pandemic. Let's not forget that gambling is a kind of entertainment, and it's best not to generalize why certain people are now hooked to gambling due to gambling during a pandemic. Playing gambling doesn't mean that they don't care about the health crisis, we can even see it as a contribution not to step outside and keep home. It's all right to play gambling, but be accountable for your acts, and don't do anything that would make you regret during this lockdown.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Before Experience On Gambling...!!!! Stay Safe. on: May 08, 2020, 09:27:32 PM
I am considering to quit gambling now but even if I gamble I will make sure I gamble with lower stakes and try to avoid gambling on working days and only gamble on weekends (although during this tough time we are all feeling like all the days as weekend but nothing to do).
Just don't quit, if you are a gambler, you'll certainly miss gambling, so maybe the best way to keep the fun is just to gamble a small amount and you'll be safe while you are having fun. At this situation, we need to have fun too, we can't just stay home and be bored all the time, this quarantine or lock down might take awhile.
I recommend you play a smartphone gambling game, which is also thrilled because you have live opponents as well. The benefits of this are, there's no need for resources to spend on this platform because you just need to play the game, so there's no pressure.

There's a lot of smartphone apps or even a PC that's really fun and exciting, and that's going to reduce the gambling expenses. But if you don't like any of this, then like what @Natalim said, it's better to limit your bets and be more responsible for gambling. It's not easy to rebound after you've missed a big thing.
