Mpex exchange fruad

They fake trade volumes, no way they are doing 700btc a day in trade.

I don't know if I can agree with this, as my MPEX trades (around the 5-15 BTC mark) have immediately shown up in the order book and have been relayed by the IRC bot.

Regardless, proving false trade volumes is exceedingly difficult, if this thread continues it should be outright and blatant fraud, not a list of "people who were mean to me".

BMF - incompetence

Any minute now Usagi is going to accuse you, too, of not having the mental capacity to understand is great masterful plan.
1603  Economy / Securities / Re: BMF has lost access to it's wallet [UnModerated] on: June 07, 2014, 01:41:39 PM
It's not an insult. You are not capable of doing work on the projects I am working on -- you're not qualified.

I'm saying this because I'm trying to shock you back to reality.

Do you have any concept of the moral high ground? You think you've won some kind of game here -- but you have no idea what you lost, do you?

Recall the words of Robert Frank; socially responsible firms often progress ahead of their rivals in highly competitive environments, because their commitment to principle makes them more attractive as partners to do business with.

You guys have no idea how badly you've screwed up trying to troll people to get ahead, and all the junk lies that you are telling.

11:58:05fluffypony:"@fluffyponny @jurov @davout @pankkake please stay out now from this postings, everyone know now that only 4 or 5 guys from http://log.bitcoin-assets.com/ IRC chat only claims problems with us how sad is that for you guys, do you not have any work in real life? do you only accuse other companies of scam and more, each forum member looks to your profile history can see that the only people accuse others of scam are a small group talking 24

No shit, but this isn't news, we've known this for the last two years haven't we?

"You are not capable of doing work on the projects I am working on -- you're not qualified." - does this mean you're finally revealing that you're the person behind AuroraCoin?

Also, you're quoting the words of BitcoinBourse as a defence?
1604  Economy / Securities / Re: [XXXProfit] Reports & Information - Report For Period Ending On 5-31-14 on: June 07, 2014, 12:09:01 PM
Are shares for this still available ?
and is their a link for anyone to see the site?

I understand someone vouched for the site, and signed for it with GPG, which means jack shit to the rest of us.
Pardon my french, but is their opportunity for anybody else to see the site ?

Not "someone" - I vouched for its existence, which can be trusted by virtue of my credible WoT presence (which you seem to lack). I did not do so in order for ABitInterested to attract more investors, but rather to satiate the curiosity of the investors he already has, and ensure that any trolling no longer has substance.
1605  Economy / Securities / Re: BMF has lost access to it's wallet [UnModerated] on: June 07, 2014, 12:02:36 PM
Nice video, unfortunately the "we may never know..." line is more than a little ironic -- based on what you've said in this thread it's quite clear you are not intellectually capable of understanding what I am working on.

Hint: When I said I hadn't done any work on the web wallet for over a year since I sold the code, that should have been a major clue. Do you even know what BMF does?

Hint #2: You are a terrible embarrassment to this community. You & team produced that video why? Because you chose to believe a lie? Nice, so you're not just stupid, you're gullible too. What a combo! Congratulations!

Are we still playing the game where you insult me personally and directly instead of providing a rational answer to the questions raised? I thought we'd stopped that already, since such personal attacks have never worked for anyone in all of recorded human history.

In ten seconds or less answer this question:

Who would you rather do business with, Kenneth Slaughter of ActiveMining or Bitcoinbourse?

The catch, there is not a 'neither' or 'none of the above' option.

How much money would I be throwing at either of them?
1607  Other / Archival / Re: Mimex delisted from BitcoinBourse. Shareholders beware. on: June 06, 2014, 05:23:36 PM
Just like that BitcoinBourse won't even have scam listings, because they wont have any listings   Roll Eyes

Except for their own scam businesses that should make anyone stupid enough to invest ROI in about 780 years.
Wait, you mean it'll get an ROI?

1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 06, 2014, 08:13:39 AM
I've been reading the source and trying to see if such functionality is possible. I have a way it could be done without causing issue to the core blockchain or code but I need to do a lot more research. So if I can say anything it's this; don't write off us adding such features at some point.

However, right now there are fundamental issues that need to be fixed and better understood, the CryptoNote blockchain is a new beast and we really need to hammer out the core first.

I'm all for setting Monero apart, but first we need to make it as easy to use Monero as it is to use Bitcoin. Don't worry though, many of us are trying to figure out possible ways we can get these features. But they will have to be done in a different way. For example I am against the Nxt method, I am against storing things like messages in the blockchain. I find that people add these features without really thinking them through. I support Nxt but I believe certain things need to be planned and done differently. If I can formalise my ideas into a concept I'll likely try to apply it to Monero.

But this is a ways off, we need an effortless wallet and a GUI first. We need to stop getting in the users way even if they have too many dust payments, we need to wallet to take care of many things that should be behind the scene (of course the advanced user can always push the transactions are we are doing now)

Agreed. The idea of secure messaging is nice, and maaaaaybe when I2P integration is feature-complete we can look at bolting the I2P-Bote email system into the client and have a specific identity prefix or suffix for Monero users.
1611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 06, 2014, 07:59:23 AM
An idea for the GUI Wallet:

Why not implement a chat / message service? It can have one-on-one chats, chatrooms, and email-like messaging. Everything will be encrypted of course. I don't know if this can be done within CryptoNote or if a workaround is better?

Reason I suggest this is that this will really, really set Monero apart. Right now CryptNote coins have the best privacy, and Monero has the best momentum among these, but it's easier said than done to attract an entire community. So I mean, if there's a chat & transfer combined GUI wallet, you'll attract all those thousands of people looking for a safer alternative to emails. Being able to transact comes as a bonus to most, something they'll learn to value but perhaps don't see the point in quite yet.

IF anything like that is added as a feature it will only happen in the distant future once the more important and fundamental functions have been completed.
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 06, 2014, 07:10:23 AM
Now I'am sure that price of MRO will be much lower. They are getting MRO for free. Good job.

The price will anyway be whatever the market will bear, and the marginal miner will mine at a loss. The reason why "illegitimate mining" (stolen resources in a way or another) is bad, is the reduced legitimacy of the product.

PoS-coins are all generated without any burn of capital ("free coins"). In my eyes they are illegitimate AND economically unfunctional. Monero at least is economically functional, even if a large % of the coins were generated with stolen resources. Economically it does not make a difference.

Too true. Also, Monero's relatively high emission rate means that a large portion of the cryptocurrency will be pushed into the market over the next 8-ish years. This means that Monero's price, as determined by the market, hinges heavily on its utility. Right now it has virtually no utility, and I suspect it would be premature to try and force utility when we lack stable and reliable merchant tooling as well as an intuitive and friendly user interface.

In the coming months all of those things will come, though, and with an increase in utility will come an increase in market demand. The worst thing we can do now is rush unfinished, untested and, insecure code out the gate because everyone is price-watching:-P

Do we have a forum/thread for more technical orientated discussion and queries, e.g. improving the daemon, documentation etc? I know there's one for the GUI wallet development, this thread is getting a bit large for most new adopters to sift out the useful info.

We are working on a more unified discussion platform, but throwing phpbb3 or Simple Machines on a sub-domain is not the solution and will just end up with something we'll grow to hate. We're trying to provide something that reduces the SNR, weight like Reddit but threaded like a forum. It is still some time away.

In the meantime, the two places I'd suggest is the /r/monero sub-reddit, and as mentioned #monero-dev on Freenode

Bitcoin Bourse

Doesn't change the fact that you had companies that signed up under the impression that the status-quo would stay the same. If you make a change like this you grandfather your existing clients in or give them PLENTY of warning (6 months) and have a delisting plan for them. Go suck on a bag of dicks.
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 05, 2014, 08:33:34 AM
Hi, are there any exchanges currently accepting XMR?
Looks like all suddenly stopped dealing with XMR - but why?

They just moved it. Previously was listed under MRO

why, they removed it? is there a particular reason? the client need a fix?

Moved, not Removed:)
1616  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is it possible to fabricate a blockchain ? on: June 04, 2014, 08:21:20 PM
I don't understand all the secrecy. More than anything else, that makes me pretty confident that it is a scam. Just say what coin it is, and people who have been involved with cryptocurrencies will be able to quickly tell you if it's actually been around that long.

2 years is a LONG time in terms of cryptocurrency. If it isn't one of 2 altcoins, I'd be extremely surprised if it has been around that long.

It's Bytecoin (BCN). They claim to have been around "on the dark web" for two years and then suddenly launched forth into the light in March (with 82% of the coins already mined). I went into a fair amount of detail as to why I think we should dispute their 2 year claim in this thread.

Incidentally, we forked BCN and create Monero a while back, which is based on the same CryptoNote protocol, but obviously has a blockchain that has had many observers from launch (and is already diverging from BCN's reference implementation as we rapidly improve it).
1617  Economy / Securities / Re: BMF has lost access to it's wallet [UnModerated] on: June 04, 2014, 07:14:05 PM
I thought this was a gem:

Vexual: usagi hotwallet method:to a hot array of failing hard disks is added a bitcoin wallet, and all backups. Hotter coffee is added splashwise until the hot wallet becomes cold.

Of course you would -- you know this isn't what happened, you know you're blowing things out of proportion, but because you're a malicious asshole you post "Oh look at this gem" on a news release thread. This is why the real thread is moderated -- people like you are simply not welcome. You have nothing to add except dead weight.

My boy, I haven't called you a scammer once. You, on the other hand, have resorted to personal attacks instead of admitting your own failures or even explaining: who you paid for your offsite backups, and why those backups are inaccessible (even a very ancient backup of wallet.dat is a backup). Two questions, two direct answers, yet you are unable to give them.

I don't think you're a scammer, I just think you're completely technically and managerially inept, and I find your deflection on the backup issue quite strange.

I duno if this is a good thing or bad :/

I get like 650h/s solo mining on an EC2 c3.8xlarge slice, so I would say the gap is far from closed between CPU and GPU miners.

About how much does that large slice cost a month? IYDMMA...

http://ec2pricing.iconara.info/#!/us-east-1?sort=api_name:desc&os=linux&period=hourly

Spot price is sitting at around $0.257/hour now, so about $187/month.
