521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 10, 2023, 09:31:52 PM
EDIT: 5 straight points by the Pacers, cutting the lead to 3, Obi's 3 and then a steal for a layup.
I think that's the closest they got in the 2nd half. And it's not about the error of the Indiana Pacers but it's about the defense of the Lakers. Damn, they were all full of energy. Lebron James may have said something that boosted them. Actually, he did say something about the $500k and that's why they are all fired up. Grin I lost my bet but that was intense until the Lakers made a big gap in the 4th quarter.

Congratulations to the Lakers and I think this is a successful event made by the NBA. Somehow every team will be fired up next season when the In-Season starts again. I could firmly say that I love what they did and I also congratulate them because it made NBA fans have something to look out for next season. It will not be a boring season anymore.

Now, they have to think about something that will also make the All-Star a great entertainment again. All of their events are not that fun to watch anymore.
Perhaps adding a prize pool will make it electrifying too just like with the In-Season. Put something on the line. The charity stuff didn't work maybe something else.

I think this kind of tournament is not boring at all, maybe teams was at a lost in the beginning and that's why they treat this as just a regular game. Not saying that the Pacers didn't deserved to be in the finals, but I think it has something to do with teams didn't know what this tournament is.

So congrats to Lebron winning the MVP and Lakers for the first team to got this In-season Trophy. Some of us might have lost this game though as we all thought that the Pacers might pull the biggest surprised.

But Lebron and AD has other plans, monster game by AD and I do agree if he can just be consistent as what we saw him in this game, the Lakers could definitely be a team to beat for this year.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 10, 2023, 11:45:32 AM
Mark Magsayo won his fight at super featherweight, 130 lbs, he beat Isaac Avaler via a vicious knockout.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXfQiPR9v_A

Although there are still some loopholes in Magsayo here, as he was open for counter. But the good thing is that he can take the punch of Avaler because he has a solid chin. But he needs to cover his face at this division because it's going to be very difficult for him if he will face fighters in the top 10.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term BTC Holders Who Still Haven't Cashed Out Any Big Profits? on: December 09, 2023, 10:23:28 PM
snip
Now my other question is are there people that have say 10 btc or more even and are living paycheck to paycheck and have close to little in the bank but just pays their bills every month but just keep their btc as their life savings and rarely touch it unless you absolutely have to?  I got to assume very few people are like this right if they have say 10 btc or more?  Let's say whatever amount of money that person make a year and after taxes, they barely have enough to pay their living expenses and they are lucky to save even $1000 a year to put in the bank.  Let say this person has $5,000 in the bank only which isn't much for most Americans but then again, a good portion of Americans don't even have $1000 in the bank.
i'm sure there are members on this forum who continue to hold on to the bitcoin they have for a long time, they do that because they don't need money by selling the bitcoin they have, they must already have a permanent job out there that pays them well.  i always tell anyone that the best way to get good profits from bitcoin is by trading, investing or opening a business related to bitcoin.  Michael Saylor is a good example of a bitcoin investor who until now has not sold the bitcoin he bought through his company Microstrategy, he can do that because his company has made big money from their best-selling products.

Yes, really depends on the individual on how they will look or how long they are going to hold. For sure we have a lot of long term holders here, who might not have sold even if we reaches all time high because they don't need the money and they just wanted to hold as long as they can.

But for the majority of us here, let's say average joe, it's good to at least experience one bull-bear cycle, buy and then hold and see how it goes for you. If you don't sell and take profits then good for you. But I think and this is just my opinion that there are investors that are going to sell their stash at any bull run and then take the profits and enjoy it and then repeat the process.
524  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making a New Year resolution plan is Important. on: December 09, 2023, 09:54:33 PM
As as motivation yeah why not? However, for sure majority here wasn't able to do that resolution plan in the whole year because there are so many variables and factors that can swing in our lives in the next 12 months or so that we might have diverge from our initial new year resolution. So it's going to be very tough as guess, and I say it's not that important to write.

But I have nothing against those individual who still believes and write it down in notes and try as they may to really follow what they have written about what they want to do and what to accomplished in a year. To each his own.

I think it's not about mawalan ng campaign dito, wala naman silang magagawa na sa desisyon. It's more on promoting talaga ang mga mixing campaigns kaya business to.

526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we see repeat of 2017 or new trend? on: December 09, 2023, 09:06:06 PM
I hope people remember what happened in December 2017 as last quarter of 2017 we witnessed bull run and during second half of December we saw price of Bitcoin dropping down and eventually triggered bearish market for next 3 years approximately and we are going through similar stuff but this is not a full fledged bull run but still we have seen crazy pumps for some Altcoin and even Bitcoin has increased. Are we going to witness price correction or bear market now ? Or else this time it's gonna be different and Bitcoin will reach new ATH and we won't see any bearish pattern in December ?

And why would we see bear market now when we haven't had a new all time high? Remember that the last all time high is around $69k 2 years ago November 2021? So it doesn't make sense that a new pattern will emerge. Maybe this is just new for us because of the effects of the supposedly SEC imminent approval of Spot ETF and so everyone FOMO this last quarter of the year.

So I'm not seeing a major price correction that will trigger bear market for this month. Maybe just some minor decline, but I think the bulls are going to push the price to as close as $45k to $50k target this December. Which means the bullish sentiments of investors are at a high right now.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 09, 2023, 08:53:39 PM
@danherbias07 - I will tail you with the Celtics over New York knicks but I will take the risk to get to -6.5 @1.80.

I like the pick though, especially now that they are -8... But... I'd choose the Sixers -9 against the Hawks. Eithe way, good luck!

Yes, everyone is happy with the Celtics winning and cover the spread, and congrats to your bet, Sixers covered that handicap as well against the Hawks.

For the finals, it looks like the Lakers are a heavy favorite here? What gives?

Do the odds makers didn't take into account the big upset that the Pacers did? beating Boston and then the Bucks? And with that I will go with the Pacers as the underdog here, @2.46 very attractive and I will take that risk.

And most likely we will see Haliburton again here showing MVP numbers. Maybe Vando or Reddish will be in his face the whole game, but I think he can uses his speed against this two top defenders from the Lakers.
528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at its ATH of 2023 so far on: December 08, 2023, 11:04:59 PM
Bitcoin has surged for 2.87% today and reached the highest level in 2023. Does this year has more surprises for us and we can break all time high of bitcoin ?
The surprise that has occurred is the price increase of up to $44K and Bitcoin is able to survive with an increase of several months in 2023 in a row.
2023 to reach the highest level is still impossible. Our hope is that Bitcoin to achieve the highest lever may be achieved by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Increasing the price of Bitcoin in the last three months if I am not wrong in remembering it is so fun because more than half half of 2023 the market struggles to be like now.

We did got a good increased at the beginning of the year, just look at this data:

https://www.coinglass.com/today

So far we have 9 months out of the 12 that we have at least in the green area. As compare to last year, more reds 8/12. So it's a complete U-turn for this year and it seems that we will end up maybe around $45k or more as what the majority have predicted.

But it doesn't mean that we are done though, 2024-2025 is expected to be one of the biggest bull run in bitcoin's young history so it's better to just buy and hold for now and not sell even if we see more than 100% gain since the lowest low of $15,500 from last year.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador national treasury experience boost after Bitcoin surge. on: December 08, 2023, 10:45:57 PM
Don't know about other countries, we can just wait for someone to say something about it. But it's good to see that El Salvador is finally in profit. They proved that they were right. I hope others will follow their lead.

I think you should also know that investing in Bitcoin has a lot of risk as well but they are willing to take that even though there is a hail storm of El Salvadorian going against what Bukele did or wanted to make here. So it takes time to mature, and with Bitcoin's 4 year cycle and we getting into the bull run, it's obvious that they are going to be profiting by this time.

But there's a long way to go, we are not yet in the "bull run" phase, this is just the start of it. As if the market wanted us to taste what it will really in 2024-2025 or for those who haven't experience it.

And with that, I think the government of Bukele will enjoy such profits in the next two years. It's up to them when to sell and what to do with the profit that they are getting. And hopefully they will put it in a positive way like infrastructure or healthcare or housing projects in El Salvador.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 08, 2023, 10:18:14 PM
And here's the official weigh in,

Haney - 140 lbs
Prograis - 139 lbs

So no problem for both making the weight for this fight. Here is the video of the weigh-in,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5i1BQ_uXww

Bill Haney and Evins Tobler at it going at each other again. We already know the odds for this fight, the champion is a huge underdog. And I know a couple who are beating on the underdog because of that huge pay day they will got if Prograis pulls a big upset.

Heto ngayon ang state ng mempool,

So medyo mababa kumpara nitong mga nakaraang araw.

532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 08, 2023, 09:52:50 PM
So it is Lakers vs Pacers that we are going to see with this, I feel like the result is not that good, I was expecting some serious teams at the finals, like some Bucks vs Denver type of situation which would have bene fine and entertaining, with Dame on the roster Bucks are great, and DFenver are the last champions and I feel like they are doing fine right now, they are still the best team in the league if you ask me. When you think of that, the finals between them would have been quite fun to watch.

Bucks lost at the last minute by not winning against Pacers, which is really weird considering how good they were, and Lakers had an easy opponent, it wasn't even a close game, the whole fourth quarter was garbage time to be fair and it really sucked for Pelicans without a doubt. I believe that we are going to see the changes one way or another, and for that to mean something we need to end up having some sort of situation that will benefit everyone, because this tournament is boring.

Yes, I was totally disappointed with the Bucks performance, they have a good lead in the first quarter. But not sure what happen in the 2nd, it seems that the Pacers took everything from them at that quarter specially Haliburton's passed and that was enough for them to take the lead and win. Lost my bet on the Bucks handicap.

For the Lakers games, it is to be expected, however, it's vintage Lebron's performance once again.

@danherbias07 - I will tail you with the Celtics over New York knicks but I will take the risk to get to -6.5 @1.80.
533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is the only currency that has grown the most!! on: December 07, 2023, 11:03:02 PM
Most altcoins don't really have the community and the financial backing to stay afloat for a long period of time. Bitcoin has been here since 2009, and made a lot of millionaires that now support the overall project. It has also started the trend of money digitization in ways we can only imagine before that a lot of countries now hoping to replicate.

Altcoins, too, can see the same amount of growth in a short span of time. The thing is, can it sustain it? No, and as initial investors of the said coin already profited enough, they'll plan their exit and watch as poor souls who actually believed the project cry out for help holding their bags. This has never happened with bitcoin, even though there were tons of fear-mongering related to its price for years on end.

If I'm not mistaken, there are a  lot of altcoins that can really grow more than Bitcoin. But those projects could be just pump by some groups, specially that we have a lot of pumpers in the altcoin market. So that could only be temporary and then the admin of those pump groups are the one who's going to make a lot of money by selling early before giving the signal to anyone.

So for us, at least the majority here just stick to where we know that we can make money in the long run and that is Bitcoin. It might be hard to see the price during bear market, but as soon as we recover and then some semblance of a bull run just like what we have seen right in the last quarter of the year. For sure we will not regret staying in the market and hard grind of saving thru DCA.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 07, 2023, 10:36:21 PM
Anyone watching the "Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis Press Conference Livestream"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ72CwKZxKc

And you can see that Bill Haney and Regis Prograis are getting at each other.

Good to see how this guys are promoting and hyping this fight, both camps are loud mouth so yeah we are looking forward for this fight. No excuses, either Regis will knockout Haney or Haney going into a 12 full round and might be boring fight.  Grin.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 07, 2023, 09:54:07 PM
I guess i'm the only one leaning on the Orlando Magic +4.5, liking the extra points on this team when they're 9-1 in their last 10. The Cavs will probably win because I always expect the worst on road teams, but I imagine the Magic will find a way to make it competitive due to their form.

Sorry mate, seems like the home team are holding strong and I won my bet on this game.
That first quarter was the turning point, Cleveland outscored the Magic by 17 points and Magic weren't able to have a big run although they won the 2nd and 4th quarter.

Two of the worst team, although the Grizzlies is obviously struggling without Ja Morant, they might give the Pistons another lost here and continue with their losing streak.
I agree that both teams are bad, and it's weird to see the Pistons closing in on even odds when the Grizzlies are getting most of their wins on the road.

You guys are right about this one, they won by a double digit, so it was an easy cover for them.

Yeah, finally, although I stay safe with that ML bet of mine, I could have taken more risk, but since this is a 2 game parlay, I'm fine with it.

Bucks vs Pacers in the next 5 minutes, I taking the Bucks here, I'm impressed on what Giannis did the last game, -3.5 for me.

I'll still looking at the next couple of games, but for now, that will be my bet as it will start shortly.
536  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Help , Sobrang taas ng fee Pano mag send ng mas mababa and fees? on: December 07, 2023, 01:37:00 PM

Quote
Current fees:

Fastest Fee: 282 sats/vbyte
HalfHour Fee: 257 sats/vbyte
Hour Fee: 229 sats/vbyte
Economy Fee: 24 sats/vbyte
Minimum Fee: 12 sats/vbyte

537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 06, 2023, 10:53:34 PM
I've come across plenty of speculation about Bitcoin even before joining the forum. I remember when people said that the current rise in the price of Bitcoin doesn't necessarily mean it's a bull run. Even now, with Bitcoin at $44k, there are still speculations that it will dip.

During the Bullish Trend

$36k -- btc will dump
$38k -- btc will dump
$40k -- btc will dump
$42k -- btc will dump
$44k -- btc will dump

If by any chance bitcoin goes below 36k or further they would say they were right  about this. I want to know if it is possible for someone to be a bitcoin expert. Like a person who is always right about his/her speculations even if it takes sometime to be confirmed.

Sorry to burst the bubble for you but there's no so called experts here as far as prediction goes. Everyone can make his or her wild and educated guess, so even you can make your own prediction. However, there are some guys that based everything on technical analysis, but still it can go either way, a hit or miss.

Of course, even in a bull run, everyone will still speculate that the price will dip, it's human nature. What I mean is that there are investors who missed the boat, and so they wanted to buy at least when the price goes down so that they can buy.

So that's how everything works here, you will have a lot of opportunity to buy it's up to you whether you will take that opportunity or not. Or wait because you think that it will go down further. So for me, there's no such thing as wrong buy, really up to you when to buy and then just hold on it till you make profits.
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 06, 2023, 10:18:48 PM
So another promotion, post from Inoue himself,

https://twitter.com/naoyainoue_410/status/1732216442857377941

And you can find this poster in Japan's airport as I see someone almost posted a video of it. So most likely the Inoue fever is hitting Japan again as he is one of the most recognizable sports figure already not just in his native country, but all around the world.

Just a couple of weeks before we will see this big fight. Tapales still a huge underdog at 7:1
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 06, 2023, 09:40:32 PM
I'll go with a parlay in this game, Sixers vs Wizards, and then Memphis vs Detroit. I will took Sixers and Memphis at ML @2.17 odds. It is reported that Joel Embiid will travel with the team and play at Washington's Capital one, so that is a big boost for the Phillies, and we might see Kelly Oubre back as well after his supposedly "hit and run" accident.

Two of the worst team, although the Grizzlies is obviously struggling without Ja Morant, they might give the Pistons another lost here and continue with their losing streak.

Nuggets vs Clippers game that might be very interesting to watch.

540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias vs. S. Ergashev (IBF jr. welterweight title) Nov. 4: Las Vegas on: December 06, 2023, 09:24:43 PM
And now we have the title eliminator fight for Matias IBF belt, it's between Jack Catterall vs Richardson Hitchins. We all know Catterall, he gave one hell of a fight against the former unified belt holder in Josh Taylor and there are fans who says that he won against Taylor. And then Josh never give him the chance for a rematch because he was injured and then he chooses to fight Teo Lopez wherein he lost his belt already.

And Catterall fought Jorge Linares last month or so and won that fight. Richardson Hitchins on the other hand, boast a record of 17-0 and he last defeated former champion Jose Zepeda although that is his biggest name in his resume.

So this is going to be a interesting fight for next year and winner obviously getting the scary Subriel Matias for his IBF belt.
