1161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can They Find A Way to Do It To Bitcoin? on: June 10, 2023, 10:42:15 PM
I mean what they're doing to exchanges....

No, if they think that they can stop it, going to be hard, China once try to do it, with all the exchanges the Chinese exchanges in 2018, so what they did? just left Mainland China and established themselves somewhere else. And then China attack the Chinese bitcoin mining industry, and yet several countries took over and many companies established themselves to carry the torch.

So no one can stop Bitcoin at this point, it's too big to fail and many entities including government like El Salvador see it as beneficial to them. So it's going to be cyclical, there might countries who will go hardline against BTC, nevertheless on the others side of the fulcrum, there will be groups who are going to embrace it.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 10, 2023, 04:05:22 PM
It was confirmed already. Nonito Donaire vs Alexandro Santiago vacant title fight joins Martin vs Harutyunyan on July 15

And it will be covered by Showtime itself,

https://www.sho.com/titles/3525172/martin-vs-harutyunyan

So now there's no more guessing whether the fight is going to push through or not and it's good to hear that finally we have date.

July is going to be a bigger month for boxing, this one, and after a week, Fulton vs Inoue and then Crawford vs Spence.
1163  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam targeting Metamask wallet user's on: June 10, 2023, 03:33:24 PM
As far as I know, you don't need to provide your email address or any other personal information to create a wallet with metamask. Therefore, this is without any doubt a phishing email. The real question is: where dud those scammers got your email address from? You said you received the same message on two different addresses, so you need to check what you have done wrong!
Anyway, thank you for the warning.

Exactly, there is no email provided when we created a Metamask wallet.

So the question, is how did the OP get the email from the criminals? the only logical answer is that his emails might have been leaked. So just be careful not just to the OP but for those who got this kind of emails though. This is an old trick but for sure maybe there could still be someone who are going to fall for this trick.

1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cold or Hot Slot? on: June 09, 2023, 11:33:19 PM
Cold or Hot machine? This is just gambler's fallacy.

As far as RTP, test case should be in million or even billion spins. And as what other says, slot machine whether you have to look at the RTP or not is based on luck. So should be playing at the right time and pushing the button at the exact moment to be able to hit that biggest jackpot that the money has regardless on what is your bet.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 09, 2023, 11:09:36 PM
Official weigh-in for both fighters,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnB69bb8BV0

Taylor - 139.8 lbs
Lopez - 140 lbs

And now here's where the trash talking ends, they have time to rehydrate and be ready for the big fight in 24 hours. Josh Taylor is still the favorite so I'm not surprised if he actually win this fight. It might be close if a different version of Lopez shows in this fight. But if he got the wrong strategy and just want to counter then Josh might take it early and then dominate the fight in full 12 rounds.

There's also a good undercard in Xander Zayas vs Ronald Cruz. And Robson Conceicao vs Nicolas Polanco.
1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BECOMING A LIFELINE FOR POLITICAL DISSIDENTS IN MYANMAR on: June 09, 2023, 10:46:42 PM
Isn't it though that Bitcoin is illegal n Myanmar?

So I don't know how it can grow in the country, and unless you are willing to risk your life buying/holding BTC. Of course, it's a powerful tool, we have seen it being used and it played a interesting role in Myanmar’s revolution as it continues to struggle. Civilians are trapped, governments failed, and everything is in shambles. Hopefully though the military junta or whatever form of government they have will find time to at least a concrete policy on crypto itself. Otherwise, as I have said before, the risk is too high for the population to involved themselves in BTC and crypto in general.

1169  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Stay Lowkey lang tayo on: June 09, 2023, 10:19:35 PM

1170  Economy / Speculation / Re: It was easy to know the SELL of this week with a simple chart analysis on: June 08, 2023, 10:37:46 PM
It seems that profit is very easy if we think it's easy, unfortunately many people are too afraid to buy for fear that the price will go down, and in my opinion the best thing right now is to buy immediately, if we focus on long-term hold then we have a chance to profit 100x or more but if we make it daily trading then immediately sell when it has a profit of at least 5%.

And I think the analysis is still valid up to this point, with the recent SEC with hunt against exchanges, we've seen the price going down to as low as $25k, in which the graph being drawn up by the OP can't be seen along that line.

So good for him, if he was able to sell because of this analysis and take the profits. Although I would say that I did sell around first week of April, not because I think it's the perfect time, but I needed some money for emergency purposes and looking back, I would say that I timing the market right as well as it is way above what the current price. But I have to get it back right away though, some DCA to continue stacking sats.
1171  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IS ATOMIC WALLET HACK OR SCAM? 🔴 Immediately Withdraw your Funds on: June 08, 2023, 10:22:50 PM
I dont know if Atomic wallet was hack or exit scam from some of their developers.
It is enough to have one bad guy working there to upload bad code, and nobody from outside is checking small unknown wallets for safety and security.
Atomic team behavior is very strange and their website doesnt have a single warning announcement about this problem, that is not normal.

The usual culprit according to a report: Lazarus hackers linked to the $35 million Atomic Wallet heist.

Quote
Last year, the FBI attributed to Lazarus the Harmony Horizon Bridge hack in June 2022, which resulted in the theft of $100 million, and also the March 2022 hack of Axie Infinity, from which the North Koreans siphoned $620 million in crypto.

The latest attack on Atomic Wallet shows that the threat actors remain laser-focused on monetary goals, which experts have said are directly used to fund North Korea's weapons development program.

So it's a state sponsored hacked, and we have heard numerous times before that the Lazarus group is really into this crypto hacking, like a reported South Korean exchanges that they did many years ago. So I'm not surprised by it, this is one way why the government of North Korea still up to this day was able to survived despite the West's sanctions against this oppressive regime.
1172  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: June 08, 2023, 10:08:27 PM

1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 08, 2023, 06:19:34 PM
Damn, Josh Taylor's last 6 opponents were all undefeated with a combined record of 133-0-101 KOs. This guy is not wasting all his years while his body is still in its prime. It's sad though that he became inactive due to injury. Taylor could have picked an easy tune-up fight just like what Catterall and Canelo did.

Yeah, he took the best boxers that this weight class can offer and took all their 0. Prograis, Carlor Ramirez, Ivan Baranchyk and even Viktor Postol (who lost to the previous unified champ in Bud Crawford).

Meanwhile, Teofimo's comment about killing Josh Taylor is foul but actually corny knowing he actually lost his last fight if not for the corrupt judges. I cannot wait for their face-offs. I guess they are expected to be in their own receptions by tomorrow and a press conference is expected to happen later before the weigh-in. Josh Taylor should try something to bully Teofimo and lessen his confidence a bit before fight night.

Yes, probably just to sell the fights because it seems there's no hype here. I mean it's understandable, after Garcia vs Davis and then Loma vs Haney, it's hard to follow on that footsteps unless they really give a fans a good show. And only they can sell the pre-fight if they are going to trash talk and that's what Lopez is good at.

Final press conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRUl_dPlll8

The security though, didn't allow for this two to have the face-off, maybe there will be some pushing, hehehe. We will still see them tomorrow for the final weigh-in so it's another must watch for fight fans.
1174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do, should do, or not do as Bitcoin supporters at this time? on: June 08, 2023, 06:06:50 PM
We have already heard about the Binance and Coinbase cases with the SEC. There is even a rumor that another centralized exchange is about to declare bankruptcy. The message all over the internet is 'withdraw your bitcoin from exchanges.' Despite this apparent attack, Bitcoin's price remains fairly stable. It is having no effect. But then, do we just sit back and do nothing aside from saying to avoid centralized exchanges? What can we do or should do, or not do as Bitcoin supporters at this time?

Isn't it an old adage though? even if there is no Binance/Coinbase vs SEC, we shouldn't put our money on exchanges as that is a bad practice. It's just more magnify now as there is a case that is being brought to exchanges.

Regarding your question on what we should do, the best thing is still to accumulate at this price range, still very cheap and discounted price. Doesn't mean to buy 1 BTC right away. Just do whatever suits you, DCA or just buy when you have capital with you. The end game is still to save and stack sats as much as you can before the block halving next year as it will be the catalyst for the next bull run, regardless if there will be another exchanges that will file bankruptcy or another witch hunt from SEC.
1175  Economy / Economics / Re: SEC is in Action After Suing Binance, Here Comes Coinbase Exchange on: June 07, 2023, 11:48:05 PM
You cannot not feel sorry for Coinbase. As far as I know they tried really hard to be compliant, even tried to get a court to force SEC to give a clear answer on what is and isn't a security, but all they get is a lawsuit against them.

Binance also get hit with massive funds outflow from its US business of $1.4bn since the lawsuit. I'm sure they survive though, but will struggle to return to the same levels.
https://www.reuters.com/technology/bitcoin-steadies-above-25000-binance-sec-lawsuit-rattles-investors-2023-06-06/

Yeah and Coinbase already hint that if they US government will continue to pursue them, then they might opt to go out already. So interesting development here, two of the biggest exchanges, Coinbase and Binance.US is now being sued by SEC and CFTC. Although at close look at the lawsuit, it doesn't mentioned BTC at all, at least the case against Coinbase. It's about securities projects that SEC thinks these exchanges facilitated.

So I guess with this precedence, any exchanges that is operating in the US might get sued. Just a matter on who's next on the list of SEC.
1176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: June 07, 2023, 11:32:43 PM
You can clearly see how the Bitcoin Price broke the resistance at 0.33 Fib level and now this week, it made it a support.
I am speculating that we are about to head to the $40k Range.

Let me know what you think about it.

I don't know, with the Binance news recently, we are now in a challenging position, so for me it will remain in the sideway patterns as the TA might be invalidated because of the said news. So I wouldn't be surprised if we are going to retest $25k this month and then see if we are going to hold or not.

But it's a good thing though, when the market is on a sideway patterns, it means there are balance around, buyers<->sellers. So we will see if there will be a breakout run, it might not be this month of June. But perhaps marching towards the end of the year, we might see the price hitting $40k-$50k.
1177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 07, 2023, 11:17:20 PM
I have skip game 2 betting on the Heat, damn, I missed those great odds. I'm thinking that I will be betting on them in game 3 since it will be in their homecourt.

So with that I will go all the way with them at ML, 2.2x is already attractive for me. I think the Heat will try to go for the lead here, it's their homecourt so they are in a advantage. And perhaps they will not admit it, but they know that getting the lead at 2-1, they will have all the momentum now in this finals.
And who can resist that dazzling 2.2x bet on the Heat? You're bang on about the home-court advantage. It's like inviting the Nuggets into the Heat's playground - they know every nook, every cranny. Those Miami boys might have poker faces on, but deep down they must be feeling like kids in a candy store! A win here could turn the tide of the series, bringing all the momentum to their doorstep. This could be as exciting as finding a forgotten $20 bill in your jeans!

Still, we can't just disregard the Nuggets capabilities and their adjustments will likely give another heavy ending to the game. I know that it's not that sure that it will work as it will still be an experimental, but we are now in the Finals for which mistakes will not be tolerated.

Yes, I do agree, the Nuggets is the best team in the West and we can't just discount that fact. They've won game 2 easily, they just struggled on game 2 because of coach Spo's adjustment and so they lost the game.

That said, I'll just sit up and pass for having some early predictions and will just make a bet once the game will start, to see which team really have the control.

However, I will continue to go and bet with the underdogs here. Yes, it's a big risk for us, but we've seen the Heat putting great teams behind. So just like my strategy in game 2, I will go with the Heat ML and then the handicap. ML and then +2.5, so if the Heat win, then it's another double celebration for me, hehehe.

Best of luck to those who are going to lay some lines on this game.

Quote
On Aug 4, the SEC singled out the Binance crypto exchange and warned local investors to not use the crypto trading platform. According to the SEC, the exchange is not licensed to solicit investments. Despite this, the exchange remained positive that they will be able to penetrate the country.

On Aug. 19, the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the country’s central bank, issued a similar warning to local investors. The BSP urged Filipino citizens to refrain from using foreign virtual asset service providers that are not registered locally and are based abroad. According to the central bank, it would be difficult to enforce any consumer protection mechanisms and legal recourse when dealing with such businesses.

https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/137275

So presyo naman, pag labas ng balita eh biglang bagsak sa $25k, pero wala pang 24 oras na eh pumalo sa $27k mahigit, so dalawa lang yan, either manipulation, or hindi nababahalata ang mga investors.

Ngayon bagsak ulit sa $26,200, so most likely baka may nakaganap na mani obra ay short selling ng mga speculators para kumita dahil sa hinding magandang balita na to.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 07, 2023, 10:43:24 PM
Looking at the poll right now, we can see that the users here are somewhat divided and as of now, both teams are tied by receiving 9 votes each while some are still weighing on which team should they vote and does have a good advantage over the other.

Surely enough, the Finals this year has been pretty much unpredictable and interesting even though we can really say that the Nuggets got a little bit of an advantage because of Jokic and their height difference as a roster as well that literally gave the Heat a struggle in the first game as we can see. But it seems that the Heat already got a plan or two about that as I don't think they will just let the Nuggets and dominate the series.

In the East it was obvious a unpredictable series, having the number 8 in the the conference and then they  goes to the finals? I doubt that anyone see that happening. In the West though, Nuggets is the top seed, so there are no surprises their. They are even the favorites to win the finals now, but the Heat are not going to give up that easily.

Looks like Adam Silver will be announcing a 30-game suspension for Ja Morant as soon as the Finals are over.  Pretty crazy to me.  I understand that the NBA has been trying to distance itself from guns and gun violence for years now.  Remember before the Wizards were the Wizards?  Remember the Gilbert Arenas incident that destroyed his promising career?  Clearly, the NBA has taken a no-nonsense policy when it comes to guns.

However, Ja flashing a gun in the background of someone else's video, so long as it is legal, seems like a bit of an overreach.  Although it wasn't his first incident, so maybe the league made it clear this is what would happen with a second incident.

It's pretty straight forward, he violated NBA rules twice, then he should suffered the consequences. And we all know that in the US there are a lot of gun violence, specially involving young individuals, so the NBA want to set another example again here.

Toy gun? Lol, is that the best defense that the camp of Ja can come up? Why don't they just admit it, man up and then apologized and then Ja surround himself with people that really will take care of him? not those who want to be a rapper/gangster?
1180  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 06, 2023, 10:41:57 PM
Securities and Exchange Commission, popularly known as SEC, recently filled a lawsuit against Binance for violating federal securities laws. This made Bitcoin price declined by almost 5%, one hour after the allegation was filled as at june 5th.

As at this morning, while checking Bitcoin chart, it is currently $25.7K. The funniest part is that lots of Crypto and Non-Crypto experts had all made predictions of a pump in price.

SEC can't just stopping firing at all exchange companies they suspect fishy activities. Don't forget that Coinbase and Coinme are also victims, and there court case is still active.

Do you think SEC's lawsuit case will create more damage to the BTC price ?

Is it possible for all crypto exchange companies in the US to avoid SEC's trouble ?.

Possible, the effects might be just temporary though, and yes, after the news hit the public, it went to $25k'ish, and now it's back to $27,120. So we might conclude that there are no effect whatsoever. Nevertheless, there could be some part of manipulation by the whales here. As if they are giving hope that the news will not have a effect. But then again, maybe after hitting $28k there could be speculators that are going to short BTC.

But if we look at the long picture, at least six months down the line, we might forget about this issues. Maybe Binance can get over the hype, answers everything or move out their Binance.US for good, just like what Coinbase did.
