1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 16, 2023, 09:54:22 PM
I hope you realize that you don't always need to buy Bitcoin, for example, you and I earn BTC from joining a signature campaign, people can offer their services and ask to be paid in Bitcoin if they want to have Bitcoin and from there they can start saving/hodling some or all of the bitcoin they earned.

This is also what I'm thinking, majority of us here started with no money, although we shouldn't treat signature campaigns as the only source of our income, but still in the beginning, we have the privilege to enjoy and received some payment in Bitcoin. And most likely we did venture somewhere else, either trading or putting up some form of business on the Bitcoin that we have earned here.

But I think the OP's point is that if we see some drop in prices and we want to take advantage of it. Without money, obviously you can't buy and stack sats. So I guess there is a correlation between Money and Knowledge and both can be a very powerful tool to be successful in life.
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 15, 2023, 11:35:47 PM
Ok there is a rumor circulating around that Canelo's next fight won't be Bivol and not against Benavidez as well.

Again, this is just a rumor, it is said that it will be Canelo va Jermall Charlo. Jermall last fight though is 2019, so not sure why Canelo and his camp are picking a inactive fighter and not even a true 168 super middle weight boxer.

Sure Jermall is a middle champion, but he will have to go up in weight and fight Canelo at his best weight.

And it seems that Canelo is really cherry picking his fight now or someone in his team did. So let's see if this fight is going to be developed and will actually going to happen late this year. This fight though might hit Canelo's legacy as he duck Benavidez and then his rematch with Bivol.
1143  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BULL MAY BE IN TROUBLE on: June 15, 2023, 11:08:34 PM

And if you look at it, there is one compelling reasons why the price in June has been hindered, it's because SEC decided to file a lawsuit against the top crypto exchanges which is Binance. Now the price goes down again to $25k and it really doesn't look good for the market.

Nevertheless, this is just a setback, just temporary for this year. Long term or at least in the next six months, I'm still seeing that the price might recovered for good, Might not be the bull run that we are expecting. But if we are going to compare it to the price that we have seen in the beginning of this year, then it's a significant jump.

This is the best time to accumulate I used to wish that the price take off for the last three years but now that the halving is getting close I am looking for the floor price so I can buy more than SEC against Binance is unexpected and it comes at the wrong time, I like the price to drop but I don't want another intervention from SEC.

I missed buying a lot in the last halving and I don't want to miss again this coming halving but news about SEC is not good for the community.

The best time is when the price hits lowest low last year at $15,500. But yes, I think at $25k, still very cheap and at a discount to all of us. SEC or at least the Democrats are doing everything in their power to stop Bitcoin or crypto, but it's harder than they think. They have the power, but I doubt that it will be enough, even against Binance.US or Coinbase.

The market is currently very difficult to bully, even today it dropped again by around 4% and is below $25k, of course this is an indication that this year will be difficult, the many FUDs issues that frighten many users and keep the market volatile.

Check the market again, price is above $25k now. But I o agree that it went below $25k and even myself thought that we might go down hard to $23k because $25k is the biggest support to us.

However, it seems that the market has renewed it's love to Bitcoin, investors are back, but we are still that far from the bull run that we wanted to see. The real bull run is right after the block halving.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 15, 2023, 10:53:41 PM
So it could be a bluff on his end so let's see how it will developed in the future. I also seriously doubt that he will just retire. There is also this element of money in this sports and he is always looking for a bigger pay so most likely he will have to play hard and then declare that he is coming back, win-win for him as there will be hype on his name again.
The element of money. Make a fuss and suddenly people will pump a trend about your fight and the champion. It actually works.
Here is the champs Regis Prograis's take on this retirement of Teofimo Lopez.
Quote
“Nah, I think he’s frustrated,” said Prograis (transcribed by Boxing 247) when asked about whether he believed Lopez was officially done with the sport. “He said he got paid a million dollars to fight [Josh Taylor]. That’s terrible.”

“That is terrible money, so I don’t think he’s going to retire.,” continued Prograis. “If me and him fight, he’ll probably get 10 times what he got. So I don’t think he’s going to retire.
https://bloodyelbow.com/2023/06/14/teofimo-lopez-regis-prograis/

Personal issues, mental issues, divorce, and more. There's a lot going on in Teofimo Lopez's life and I doubt he could easily retire with less money in his hands. You are right @Yaunfitda he may be looking for that one big pay that will get him out of that problem. It may not even matter if it's a win or lose, as long as the money is there to save him from all these issues that he had been carrying. We saw him fight Josh Taylor in a dominating way, and if he is still asking if he still has it, yes he does.
Make that money, and retire in a secure way for a better life, I bet even his cornermen are giving him the same advice to end his career in a better position rather than now. Fighting whoever the champion will be after the Regis Prograis versus Danielito Zorrilla match will be the key to that target. It's just two days away.

I believe Teofimo easily earned a minimum of $2 million in that fight which might reach $3 million if the numbers did well.

Prograis is also bluffing. He said he wanted Ramirez and Taylor rematch yet he signed with Matchroom. He said he was offered bigger money by Top Rank but why did he decide to join Matchroom? Prograis is just talking about fighting the top dogs but in reality, he does not want any of them. Now he is challenging Teofimo as if it is easy to make a deal between DAZN and ESPN. And I highly doubt a Lopez-Prograis unification bout can guarantee Teofimo $20 million. Teofimo can actually earn more by giving Kambosos a rematch or a Devin Haney fight or a Ramirez fight.

From what I understand from Regis, he said that maybe Teo Lopez might get just finished his contract with Top Rank and same with Josh Taylor. And later on we find out that Kambosos did renew his contract with Top Rank.

So in any case, he thinks that TR can't offer him fights that he wanted at 140 lbs so he jump on the bandwagon with Eddie Hearn at Match Room.

And who is he fighting for his debut with his new promotional company? Zorilla, Lol, Zorilla is a 8:1 underdog against Prograis. Probably just a get busy or tune up fight for Regis here.

https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/regis-prograis-faces-danielito-zorrilla-on-saturday-wants-subriel-matias-next/264615

So he is defending his WBC belt for the first time against a low rank 140 lbs. So that is the best Match Room can offer for him.  Grin
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 15, 2023, 10:38:47 PM
I think the we have gotten over the huge drop, it was from last year, the negative effect of FTX collapse doing some damage to the market when we bottom at $15,500. So right now, this is just a rebound from that. We even touch $31,000 around March-April if I'm not mistaken. And technically we are still in the bear market, so be ready to experience some drop or even a big one. Just like what we have seen after SEC filed a case against Binance, we thought that we will retest $23k again as $25k support has crumbled, and yet we are back to above $25k again.

So patience is the key here, or just continue to stack sats, just look for the long term perspective. For sure those who have seen the previous bear/bull cycle knows what to do and has a lot of mental toughness.
1146  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: June 15, 2023, 10:23:58 PM

1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 14, 2023, 11:01:15 PM
KCP is now twice a NBA champion, first with the Lakers and now with Denver Nuggets.
Dude, I really like KCP.

He's been traded after winning the title with Lakers and now he's with the Denver Nuggets. I hope that he won't be traded again and he's good to stay with his team. They've got a chemistry and he's always there when he's needed on those important minutes of the game.
The Denver Nuggets will be able to value their dependable player even more so it would be impossible to trade KCP who helped to claim the title.
KCP will be able to be a Nuggets player for much longer and I'm sure he can give the best for the Nuggets in the next few championships.
That's also what I am thinking of unlike the Lakers management. After winning the championship, many of their key players were traded but despite that they still managed to get into the playoffs even if they had a terrible start last season.

I also quite like KCP because the way he plays, in my opinion, often gives unexpected surprises that makes opposing players a little confused about taking action.
We can look on when he's being used by Malone. And those were like the crucial times and when important plays needed to be made and he's there.

I'm not a big KCP fan but I will say that picking him up was the final piece they needed to get over the top.  I think he's the weak spot in their starting rotation but does his job well enough for them to win at the highest level.  I'd be looking to upgrade him or continue developing Bruce Brown to take his spot.  The Lakers on the other hand could have used him on their roster and I think losing players like KCP and Dwight Howard are the reason the Lakers struggled after their bubble win.  I'm a little curious what actions the Nuggets are going to take with their roster this offseason.  As long as they keep Jokic, Gordon, Porter, & Murray though, they'll be just fine.

That's already the blue print, we've seen championship teams keeping their core and then just shuffle role players as they fit. Only struggle though is that the salary for their stars, they need to balance out everything as well so that is the job for the management. As for their coach, obviously he will be retained, and it's up to him whether they are really that good and can established a name for themselves, or just a one championship coach so this remains to be seen.

There is also some noise on Twitter that you didn't include and it was Bradley Beal's name. Rumor has it that he might be shift around and Boston name seems to be that team as Beal and Tatum are close. But I doubt the Celtics willing to dealt them with Brown - Beal trade.
1148  Economy / Speculation / Re: The low support level may still be tested during 2023. on: June 14, 2023, 10:14:38 PM
I really wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if bitcoin price tests the low support below $20k again in 2023 (but I'm sure it won't). Even though bitcoin is still trading above $24k at the moment, the possibility of a drop cannot be ignored. I don't think prices will hold well over the next few months, so of course I need to set up a budget to plan my purchases and build a strong portfolio.

Don't panic, do some analysis and collect some bitcoins if you have more budget. I will be doing this for the rest of the year and hope it will benefit me for years to come. Don't sell at loss, that's good advice for anyone holding it so far.

I guess it's 50/50 at this point, there could be investors or speculators here who wanted to see price going below $20k (for buying purposes), or there are individuals who think that we have been the bottom already.

So yeah, why not take advantage of both situation? if we see the price testing < $20k this month then buy more?

It seems though as of currently, the price is just within the support line of $25k. Again, we don't know if this is going to hold or now. But base on the sentiments right now, it could go down and then we see support at $23k and so on.

The thing is that we should know how to react in this kind of price drop.
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 09:55:19 PM
Or maybe we can be in the middle?

Like just give them board games like Monopoly or even Millonaires game (if I'm not mistaken this is local to Philippines). At least this kind of games will really bring the mentality for kids on investing per se.

I remember playing this board game even at a tender young age, we even created our own, just a folder and uses our imagination about it. And I would say that I've learn from this game and apply it later in life including BTC. So maybe this kids will also learn a lot, not directly telling them about investments and Bitcoin and others assets.
1150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 14, 2023, 09:37:09 PM
To convince myself to keep HODLing during "testy" market moments is to keep telling myself that the Bitcoins I HODL in cold storage is a kind of time deposit placed in a secret Swiss banking account that cannot be touched until the right moment. That moment is when it's trading in a six digit price valuation+. That's why I don't have the same complaints when fees surge, because as a "secret Swiss banking account", you don't use it to pay for coffee transactions. I believe many of you don't want to be like the Bitcoin Pizza Guy. That was probably the worst trading decision of his life.

Good strategy, I guess we have to sort of re-invent everything on how we are going to see our Bitcoin and why we are holding it for a very long time. Not just for this testy market moments, but perhaps the end game of Bitcoin to us, because we will feel and be affected mentality, so we need to be strong and think outside of the box on how we are going to HODL for a long time.

For me, just take it slow in the beginning, I might set a personal record to hold, let's say short term is 10 weeks. And if I can brutally manage that then I go for 26 weeks, at least half a year and see how it goes to me. Then why not go for 52 weeks? If I can do 26 then maybe another half a week can be done? And that's how I started though. Now if ever I see the market down, I'm not emotionally affected and just like what others do, just continue to accumulate sats in whatever manner we can and we will be good in the end.  Grin.

Something is wrong with your strategy since you are just "hoping" that you can hold longer and longer and longer, and so you seem to be doing something wrong.. .like you are gambling.. and you are so nervous to lock in your profits in dollars because you are worried about a correction..

I get the sense that you might be overly investing.. and that is what is causing you to feel so nervous but I doubt that I know enough information.

I don't see it as gambling though, I see it as a test to myself, on how tough I will be on this kind of games. So I just started with a short term goal and then work my way up to a year and then now I'm confident of my capacity and mental strength to continue to accumulate although there were moments last year wherein I need to sell some stash because of the death of my sister.

Nevertheless, I was not deter, after that I continue to have plans and execute my strategy and I would say that I'm doing fairly good right or at least have the confidence now to be a bitcoin HODLer. And I'm trying to get to 52 weeks or even higher.

[..snip..]

Thanks for this input, I will look into it as well and see how I can incorporate this strategy or even tweak it to suit my investment plan.

Champion: Denver Nuggets

Hindi pala to sa crypto based casinos, sa Lucky Cola to hehehe.

Anyone saw the Gotti vs Mayweather fight?

It ended in chaos, referee stopping the contest, but Gotti continue to march forward and fight Floyd.

Here is the full fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3yMuwYtLXY. Go past forward to 18:38.

Quote
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. returned to the ring on Sunday for an exhibition fight against John Gotti III, and things ended in a wild brawl at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

Mayweather was cruising through five rounds of action, barely looking like he broke a sweat as he trash-talked while peppering Gotti with punches. Things got testy between the two of them, as referee Kenny Bayless had a hard time separating their clinches and getting them to stop their verbal back-and-forth.

Early in the sixth round, Bayless stepped in to stop the fight after they wouldn't stop trash-talking, and Gotti began swinging wild haymakers at Mayweather after the bell. Both entourages entered the ring, and chaos erupted from there.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10078960-floyd-mayweather-jr-vs-john-gotti-iii-exhibition-fight-ends-with-in-ring-brawl

Fun fact: Floyd rocking the 🇵🇭 flag in his trunks. Perhaps to pay respect to the Philippines as we celebrate our Independence day, (Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan (2023)).
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 13, 2023, 01:48:40 PM
And Donaire is hoping that this will be his 4th title reign at bantamweight.

The first one is when he knockout Montiel (who wouldn't forget that fight? we saw Montiel having like a seizure in the canvass when Donaire hits him with his signature left and Nonito was still in his prime that time).

The second one is when he won against Ryan Burnett in the WBSS and capturing the WBA and eventually losing it to Inoue in the finals of the said tournament.

The third one is when he knockout Nordine Oubaali, this time it's the WBC belt, but then again his title reign was cut short when Inoue unify the belt with a second round knockout against Donaire.

Now, another chance for Donaire to become a bantamweight champion the 4th time at 40 years old.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 13, 2023, 01:09:12 PM
Lost my bet today as -6.5 was not achieved. If only one more foul was made at the end of the 4th quarter. But, the Miami Heat knew they don't have any timeout remaining so they will have to let go. I should've stuck with the under 210.5 as I saw that kind of bet is more profitable than the others. Grin Regrets in the end.

I have +5.5 on the Heat mate, good that I was able to win in the last game of this NBA finals.

Anyway, congratulations to all those who backed the Nuggets with the money line or caught one during the live betting. Because if you bet before the game the lowest spread is the same as my pick. -6.5. While Miami Heat is on a 10-point lead though is a good chance to make plus spreads or a higher amount of profits in the money line.

I have predicted a close one and even think that the Heat might steal this one, but I didn't jump on the ML for them, instead it's a +5.5 and probably I was just lucky enough.

Our new NBA champion after 47 years is the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic has everything now. All he needs to do is break new records like more champions and maybe Russell Westbrook's number of triple-doubles. Because he ain't far from it. 105 for Jokic and 198 for Westbrook. Jokic has lots of years playing more basketball and I do believe he could break that.

Might be hard to break WB's record though for triple double. I guess it's better for him to retain it for next year. But it's going to be hard to win back back as teams are going to upgrade their roster for sure.

1156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi nakamoto was there that is why BTC come to stay. on: June 11, 2023, 10:00:30 PM
I was thinking the sacrifices Satoshi nakamoto made in the past to break many protocol to ensure BTC come to stay and spread around the whole world so that governments, men, women and youths will enjoy the impact in their various environment. Now we have seen many countries that accepted BTC because they saw great future in it that it will reduce so many negative things from their countries and they are enjoying the benefits that attached to it. Now that BTC has go round globally, I believe many governments that rejected it some years ago will now convince with what El Salvador government and other governments are doing with BTC in their countries today.
Your option is highly welcome.

He took inspiration from others, as you can in the "References" in the Whitepaper. So not sure what you meant by breaking protocols, he just take everyone and make it perfect, or have a working digital payment.

It doesn't matter though if governments are going to reject it, Bitcoin can't be stop, it's too big to fall.

And as time goes by, it will continue to grow and we might be closer to the global adoption that we wanted to see.

Hi guys
What do you think about the situation around Binance?

Binance will try to fight back that's for sure, if you have followed CZ, you know that he won't simply back down from this kind of attacks.

Rumor has it that one of the largest crypto exchanges will soon cease to exist

Unfortunately, this is the FUD that CZ is addressing. I doubt that they will cease to exist. Binance has grown tremendously since 2017 so it's not easy that they will just stop at it is a billion dollar business.

Binance and Coinbase are the only two crypto exchanges that qualify

Coinbase has another place in motion already,  Crypto Exchange Coinbase Receives License to Operate in Bermuda

Binance has already left the Canadian market and is close to leaving the US market
Both are facing lawsuits and claims

-Regards

Binance left Canada because of their hard line stance, there are new regulations in place that CZ didn't agree with the Canadian government.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 11, 2023, 01:17:23 PM
Good fight for Lopez and he surely did what he is supposed to do. And it just shows that style makes fight. Kambosos beat him soundly, even have him in the canvass, but Kambosos lost to Haney twice. Josh Taylor used to dominate this weight class with his counter but he is not effective against Lopez as he is beat to the punch. And even majority of us wrote-off Lopez, but he just shows tonight that he still has it.

Now Lopez is a 2 division champ, and it open a lot of opportunity for him. Let's see if Haney is going to move up in 140 lbs soonest and go and fight Lopez. Again, it's a clash of style and with that, it's going to be another great fight. Let Lopez though enjoy his win and the start of his reign as WBO champion.

Grin.
