781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 05, 2023, 08:36:10 PM
So maybe just the rest of the NBA, after their dismal performance in FIBA's competition recently in Manila, high caliber athletes are eager to don the US Jersey this coming Olympics and represent Team USA and extract their revenge and win the Gold medal to show US supremacy again in basketball. But I guess the game really evolved as there are a lot of non-American in the NBA right now. So they need to bring in their best player and it might include Joel.
AFAIK, Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry have already expressed that they are committed in playing for the US' national team on Olympics. Now this gets more serious. While Joel Embiid is being asked by three national teams.

After that humiliating lost? Yes, James and company expressed their willingness to the next Olympics to carry Team USA. Not sure if he is being asked by Cameroon or France, but he shows his interest on playing with the US. So it was Joel who approach first just to be fair with USA.

But if I am him, this is a tough thing. He'll be the hero on Cameroon even if they're not going to get into Olympics and fall with the qualifiers.

And if he wants likely high chance of winning the Olympics, he'll choose to go along with the team USA. He's got a few days left for the deadline of his decision.

Just go with Cameroon, that's his birth country, there's nothing great as a player representing your own team in the Olympics. And there are even those who are born somewhere else and yet they wanted to represent their true nationality.
782  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Basketball]Gilas Pilipinas Asian Games 2023 Update on: October 05, 2023, 09:05:21 AM

Or what if si JB as si JC sa FIBA nun?

Anyhow, kapit na lang tayo ulit against Jordan.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 03, 2023, 02:06:38 PM
For those who are waiting some updates on the fight, it says that it could be around Mid December,

Quote
“One week of intense training has ended,” Inoue stated in a post, accompanied by a photo sporting a chiseled physique alongside his team members. “I had a good training session and am ready to switch on for December.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/inoue-one-week-intense-training-ended-ready-switch-on-december--178188

So it's good to hear that this fight is still a go. Because there have been some doubts earlier, regarding the purse split and that the camp of Tapales didn't accept the offer. So maybe there is some stipulations on the contract and most likely the Tapales camp has agreed in terms.

784  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: French member of cyber group pleads guilty to $6 million in data theft damages on: October 03, 2023, 08:26:07 AM
Yeah, 27 years, most likely if he cooperated and being a French nationality, things can be worked out with the FBI and the US government to give him a lenient sentence.

Obviously this group of hackers are sophisticated and highly intelligent individual, it's that they chooses to use on on the dark side of computers and be a criminals. And we we are one of those companies that has been breached, hard to say what is the next move as the data has been breached and leaked and as the OP said, they already make money out of it again and again. And after the breach, they can stealthy install some crypto miners malwares that will run 24x7 at the expense of the this poor companies.

Watch out for this kid, Curmel Moton, a 17 year old protege of Floyd Mayweather.

He moves like a young Floyd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoG1nAK_28o. So we will see what the future of his kid will be, he has also been compared to Inoue but he said that he is bigger and stronger than Inoue. Definitely worth someone to wait in the next 5 years and for sure with Floyd as his mentor, he will be a champion.
786  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin On It's Last? on: October 01, 2023, 07:25:09 PM
What's really happening to Bitcoin is that it could reach a point where miners find it not viable to mine and it will make some of them to switch off their machine, as it is many have already done so. Some people keep screaming out their neck that Bitcoin is finished because of the current price which has been roaming around $26k for some time now and is not going up anytime soon, but I'll say that's never the the case, now is a good time to consider a long term investment. Let's forget the noise people are making out there, those who bought at high price or those who sold due to panicking/fear, the thing is if you understand the technology you would know that the next bull is coming and now is a great time to think about jumping in the market.

Technically, we are still in the bear market, so not sure if those as you described, screaming out their neck that bitcoin is finished? doesn't really know how the market works. At $26k, the price is already good in my opinion, as compare to last year wherein we really have a rough time at around $15,500.

As for the miners, it's all business, maybe when they think that they need to sell some of their stash to continue their operation so I guess they will do that and nothing is wrong with that. Again, it's the business side of it, whether they want to stop mining and switch it off right now because they are not making money, or continue and sell some and wait for the next bull run to make profits.
787  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 01, 2023, 07:12:35 PM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

I will go with the second option, I will keep the money first and not risk it in some business or something that you don't have total control of. You have taken steps already to save enough money for you business, so why not just wait for a couple of months hard work?

For sure once your got to that $20,000 and start your own business, it's going to be worth the wait and all the hardship that you have done. And at least everything is up to you, on your shoulder on how you will become a successful businessman.
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone make Bitcoin investment decisions like Didi Taihuttu? on: October 01, 2023, 06:57:05 PM
Still a big risk though for him specially from his family as well. But he says he continue to trade bitcoin and so I guess he is still making money thru it and has seen the bear and bear market, maybe sold and then re-buy or re-invest.

And he is only making money thru his own trading bot here: https://thebitcoinfamily.com/bam-indicator/

So for me this is a big risk and I don't know if I can take that, unless I have a lot of money or silently have a plan B in case my investment didn't go well.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 01, 2023, 06:37:05 PM
Wow Boston just landed jrue holiday for a couple picks and so.e bench pieces (I like Robert Williams a lot though).  That's a great pick up from Boston.  Now I need to see the Bucks and Boston play, those games will be fun to watch.

Low key Portland is stacking 2028-20230 first round picks.  If these kids end up good and Blazers are a top team in the west by the end of the decade they are gonna have some serious draft capital to play with.  Great move all around.

Boston management just plain knows what they’re doing when it comes to making trades and signing players. Other than the Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving disasters, their record has been phenomenal. This deal puts them back up with the top tier teams in the East. A great pickup for them and a nice side effect to the Lillard trade.

Yeah, they lost Marcus Smart and Rob Williams, but they were able to get Jrue and then KP. So they are still in the top tier of the Eastern conference together with the Bucks. So it's going to be a good fight for the top spot in the East and it will be amazing to see this two fighting it out.

So great move and hopefully it will translate to something like the Celtics rejuvenated this season even if they lost their lead in Marcus Smart. It's just funny though that Miami, the first team that Dame wanted to play has end up nothing. But they have stack up future picks and so as what we have thought, they are in the rebuilding phase for the next 3-5 years.
790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: October 01, 2023, 06:23:46 PM
Bitcoin market was not good at all in 2022 and 2023.
2023 is almost at the end, but still the price of Bitcoin has not reached the level we expected. However, since 2023 is still a long way away, we expect Bitcoin to touch $30,000 to $40,000 by the end of the year. Many predictions have been made about the Bitcoin market but the year 2023 is not at all Urdu speed for Bitcoin but after that the price of Bitcoin may be in a good position.  Since we expect good things from Bitcoin ahead, we should invest and hold the current Bitcoin price from here to ATH.  Because next year 2024 is the new year when Bitcoin will be halved, and we will see its next price increase and Bitcoin will make a new history.

2022 could be a brutal bearish year for the markets, and what happens in 2023 may not be what many expect, so many also think it's bad.  but in my opinion, it's in a much better position than it was in 2022.  because if you compare the lowest price in 2022 with the current price, it is clear that bitcoin has increased significantly and many people have made great profits if they bought bitcoin for 15k$ in 2022.

You think 2023 is bad because you have high expectations for bitcoin, and when it doesn't meet your expectations, you think it's bad.  but for those who are still actively collecting bitcoins, 2023 is actually a good year for them.

I think 2022 is similar to what we have seen in 2019, that's how far my experience goes in bitcoin investment. It's obviously prior to the halving, and maybe I was not really prepared because we just have a good year at the end of 2017 and 2018 is not that bad either.

But in any case, we are almost at the end of 2023 and it's not as bearish as in 2022 as obviously we have our lowest low in 2022 and now we almost doubled that lowest price of $15,500 and as per the votes here, members are looking at like $30k'ish so hopefully we can meet that price at the end of the year.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: October 01, 2023, 01:35:17 PM
Charlo already looks huge in the image, so I doubt that he will have to add some weight fight night. But as you have said, Canelo might rehydrate here, come maybe around 172-175 lbs'ish for this fight and I think this is what he usually weight during fight night.

And I do agree that since there are no trash talking in the pre-fight, it's good to see Canelo just relax and laughing. And I just thought about Manny's demeanor during that fight as well. But in the ring we can see totally a different person as Manny destroys his opponent. So let's see how Canelo proved his critics wrong by beating Charlo.

I reckon in the ring after eating and rehydration, Canelo will have more than enough weight to fight in the light heavyweight division hehehe. Also, it appears that much of the fans and the bettors agree that this fight will end on a decision. We cannot be certain on this. Canelo might end this fight with a knockout in the 7th round because this is not vs. John Ryder where Canelo was bored. This is vs. Charlo! Canelo wants to show everyone that he is not the fighter his fans have witnessed vs. Ryder!

Charlo though said that he is around 173 lbs and perhaps Canelo as well around the light weight limit during the fight. It ended in a decision on the side of Canelo and as what we have been speculating, maybe the added weight on Charlo was a bad idea + ring rust.

Charlo in the post fight he said that he wanted to fight Crawford next at 154 lbs. But based on his performance or at least as per Crawford,

Quote

Ok y’all I’m over
@TwinCharlo
he’s no longer on my hit list. He went out there and laid down and let Canelo spank him like he was his daddy with no type of resistance.😂

https://twitter.com/terencecrawford/status/1708353103702159586

For Canelo saying that he should fight Benavidez next, here is what he says,

Quote
“I don’t know, but I don’t f*cking care”

792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are all the Bitcoin naysayers? on: September 30, 2023, 10:35:59 PM
I remember in good old days there was a bunch of notorious Bitcoin naysayers visiting this forum frequently. In particular, I can mention such accounts as Stolfi and Roach (this nazi guy was hilarious actually). I'm sure many forum regulars remember them. There were many others as well, appearing from time to time, posting anti-bitcoin bs and FUD.

Yeah, probably in the early years of bitcoin, because it's obvious, we really don't know what's going to happen next so there are a lot of members who created FUD, anti-bitcoin sentiments to the point that you know that they are trolling.

I have to admit that I rarely visit some parts of this forum, but I haven't seen any anti-Bitcoin accounts active recently. Why is that? There are no naysayers left? Lost interest in this forum? Or maybe I'm not attentive enough and they're still among us?  Grin

There are still few account left if I'm not mistaken, forget their names though. But I do believed that they are still around. Maybe not giving the time as they used to be because they know that it's no longer effective as those years when bitcoin was just in it's infancy.
793  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino repeated live payout results on: September 30, 2023, 10:25:00 PM
I saw something that caught my attention. I've recently been curious about the live payout displays in online casinos and wanted to gather some insights from the community. It seems that sometimes, when observing these live payouts, there are instances of repeated results, and I'm wondering if this is normal or if there might be something more to it. my question here is
1.Have you observed repeated IDs and payouts while playing in online casinos, and do you think these patterns are a cause for concern?
2.Are these displays genuinely based on real-time data, or could there be instances of manipulation or programmed repetition?
Some how I feel these data aren't updated and are only programmed so as to attract more players into using their casino.

I think you can check it yourself, click on that name and see his betting patterns, if it seems true, then nothing is out of the norm. But there could be casinos out there that who knows, maybe they are rigging the results or something.

But in any case, it's hard to see in the image that you posted, it's incomplete as far as I'm concern.

And it could be the amount of bets that the user that you are seeing here that's why it's the same and base on the timestamp, it could be the case. At least that's how I see it on my end.
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: September 30, 2023, 10:02:34 PM
While we prepar for long term hodling we might ought to make provisions and preparation for how best to secure the Bitcoin we intend to hold for so long and having a securely protected personal wallet is the best thing to do in that regard.

Of course, it entails a lot of preparation for being a long term holder. So in order to secure it better, have a hard ware wallet and keep everything there. You just need to backup everything.

True, and I will say that the pandemic really thought me a lesson about holding. I mean you are just alone and can't get out, so that's already a mental challenge. But then again, you have a lot of time to think about your bitcoin investment and so with the pandemic, I was able to hold for so months or even years and accumulate decent to good amount of BTC. So it's very hard if you look at it on paper, but I can attest that anyone can do it and HODL for a long time.

Good for you if you were able to get everything started during the pandemic and the positive effect it did bring to you. For my case, I started much earlier to test myself on how to be a holder. And I can also says that it's a mental game as you have to take a grind week by week, month after month just to be able to stay with your goal of saying and accumulating for the long term and it's going to be worthy in the end or at least if you were able to get at "almost" the top price in a bull run.
795  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 30, 2023, 09:46:38 PM
Most of the time probably health is the most important of all but most of the time we always forget about this one, All of our investment is just going to be useless in the end if we doesnt really maintain our health and do a healthy lifestyle, we should never overuse our body just because we wanted to earn a good amount of money, our health should be our priority most of the time, considering our money cannot really do anything when we already have complications on our health. Also when we die we can't really carry our money in the afterlife its just useless paper.

This is so true, not just our physical health, but mentally as well we need to be able to remain healthy. I remember one local interview here of a self made billionaire. He said that you can bring all you wealth when you die. So what he did is just try to help our the country in his own way by making jobs and building infrastructure.

There are always a time when it is really difficult to manage my time and if you not going to manage your time that is where you cannot manage your health as well, I mean it wasn't really easy since we have a lot of things to do in our time and most of the time we always sleep late because we're putting our time on our investment, especially for some daily traders where you really need to keep updated on the market in order to make profit.

So it's better to have money no doubt about it, we work hard for it for our kids and families. But we also need to take care of ourselves as well. We are not getting any younger and so just be watchful of the foods that we need, have regular exercise if you can. So that we can live longer and stay with our families and children and grand kids and have a better relationships with them.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 30, 2023, 09:15:18 PM

Casimero is only in the rank 7. If anyone deserves the shot to a title, it's Luis Nery but even him was skipped by Innoue all for unification. There is a possibility that Inoue will move to 126 lbs and probably skip all but challenge Robeisy Ramirez. After all, he already beat Fulton which is below Robeisy so fighting Fulton I think is more of a strategy to get the WBO belt from Robeisy.

The most exciting is the welterweight class which I think Inoue will stay longer to fight top ranks.

Depends on which division you are going to look for Casimero. But obviously you are talking about the WBC so yes, he is number 7 and Nery is number 1. However, as we have been discussing, Nery is banned to fight in Japan because he was once caught using a ban substance.

If Inoue wanted to fight him, then it will be outside of Japan. However, Inoue doesn't want to go out in the US, he defeated Donaire and recently, Stephen Fulton is his hometown. And most likely, if this fight is going to happen, it will still be in Japan as well.
797  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: September 30, 2023, 09:03:59 PM

Like hanggang 82 games or makapasok sa Finals? Medyo long run to pero sigurado profit.

798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Has Bitcoin Changed My Life? on: September 30, 2023, 08:52:52 PM
Yes, it is true that Bitcoin has changed the lives of many people, but more importantly, it has also changed people's attitude towards the nature of money.
That is so true! Thanks to bitcoin I started learning more and more about the financial world, how to properly manage money, keeping under control the expenses, making a DCA plan for both BTC and ETFs, all things that before discovering bitcoin I had no idea they existed because no one ever taught me how money is supposed to be managed. What I've learnt thanks to bitcoin is priceless.

Yeah, there are things that Bitcoin has taught as far as investment goes, there are times that we want to sell to get profits, but then again we should think of long term. And I guess everyone's life here that has been touch by bitcoin has someone change, we become financially freedom, although some of us here could still be un-banked, but that's why bitcoin or to some extend some crypto's are here for that purpose. I just want to reiterate though that we shouldn't take advantage because of the profits that we are getting. Still we have to diversify to other investment as well so that we can built wealth continuously.

Yes, nitong mga nakaraang araw back to normal na lahat,

800  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the bull-run plan. on: September 28, 2023, 10:17:42 PM
I havent done so before but like a lot if others I will sell some Bitcoin to take profits
and buy back again when the markets correct.

I know there has been plenty of people doing this for the last halving and been able
to make gains.

I think the  key is to not try time the absolute top before the bear market.
Selling first and taking some profits when the market is bullish is a pretty good decision, depending on how the initial strategy is implemented.
Then buy when the market is corrected to get a cheaper price. You have to pay attention to whether the price is really below or not because there are many traps which in the end continue to be bearish. Therefore, also carry out financial management to buy in stages. Halving is a good opportunity to double profits. Of course buying regularly from now on can be said to be a good opportunity.
Buying regularly is also called accumulation in bitcoin (or investment) world and that is exactly the time to do that right now. I have been trying to accumulate since 40k and down, started my first buy at 40k, bought some at 15k as well and all the prices in between.

I had some other issues which emptied my investments a bit, but that doesn't mean that we are going to end up with anything, it is just not going to end up with anything that would be dangerous if we keep on accumulating right now. You can do that until halving easily, but if you really want to do more then you can try to do more as well. I believe that we are going to end up with something that would change it on the long run and not really end up anything else.

Yeah, I think that should be the mindset, continue to accumulate as much as you can. Even at the start of the bull run, you can still do that and not think of stopping or selling you stash just before the bull run has started.

That's how I did the last time, specially that the block halving occured during the pandemic, and so you have nothing to do outside but instead focus on your crypto and build it as long as you can. Although we are done with pandemic already, but still it is a effective method to just continue regardless of what cycle we are. In short save and save for the the rainy days as you really don't know what the future holds.
