Well sabi nga nila win is win. At pa konti konti is way good than losing ika nga.

1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you dare to pawn your bitcoin? on: June 27, 2023, 12:56:33 PM
Nah, I wouldn't go that far to pawn my BTC, I would rather pawn physical objects, like jewelries or even your car. The worst thing that can happen is that you totally lost your bitcoin here just because of some technicalities.

And there is also the trust factor involved, and as far as I know, as what we have been preaching, not your keys, not your coins.

I'm totally against it. And even if this service is available in my country, I wouldn't do that. So voted for No.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price, Where Next on: June 27, 2023, 11:53:01 AM
The last quarter will be interesting though, so short term for me, yeah could boring, but when we enter on what we call the "ber" months, fro September-December, we might see some growth along the way and it could push the price to highs of like $35k-$40k or even higher. And we all know that there will be a lot of FOMO at the end of the year, as we all know that bitcoin halving is 2024. And that's what the mindset of some, it's just like beating the red light and buying at a high price instead of doing DCA and buy at the current price that we have as it is still cheap.
It will always happen, we will see a significant rise as FOMO sets in by many investors who start getting in and don't want to miss the 2024 Halving Hype that will happen.

Though now is the right time to start DCA, May-June had a stronger drop but now it is still in the $26k+ price area.

Let's look at the Bitcoin Monthly Return table again. In the last 2 years, September-December has experienced more declines,
but in July and October, there was a slight increase and maybe this will be a trigger for Bitcoin to reach the $ 30k + price area so that ahead of the Halving the bull run market will be maximized.

And yet the pattern breaks now, June used to be a bad month, but if we look at today's price, we are now in the $30k'ish price, and we have a bullish sentiments now because of the Blackrock news and other companies applying ETF's.

So maybe September-December too might see a very different cycle and now we could be looking for a huge increased like $40k-$50k at the end of the year.

FOMO is already here and possible to continue as long as they are good news to come in the last quarter.
1104  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: June 27, 2023, 11:32:04 AM
This is an indication that many believes we should be on a bull market and if this time Bitcoin able to break the resistance, we might see its price to actually reach the price of $40k. Let’s wait patiently and watch the market closely as this can still be a bull trap because the volume is not that much to support the pump. Though if you look at a weekly time frame, you can still a bullish trend with Bitcoin and its a good sign too.

We did break the resistance of $30k, for a short time, the price reaches $31k, but then again, maybe there are sellers or orders along that price, so it was liquidated very fast, and so it didn't last long. Nevertheless, $30,500 right now, still very high and we should be expected that this price might hold at least at the end of the month. And if that happens, then we are going to be green again. Historically, the month of June is not good in a bear market, but it seems we will change that pattern for this year as we have seen a jump from $26k-$30k++.
The pumping was very fast, but the resistance was broken after the second attempt. We have one more day to hold above 30k. If the weekly candle closes above this level, it will mean that the resistance will become support. Hopefully nothing bad will happen tomorrow.

Yes, it was just two days or 48 hours to see the price going from $26k->$31k, which means there is FOMO.

Nothing bad has happened though, even if we have settled down a bit, the market remains relative calm at $30k so it's a good sign for us. Although it might signal that we could go on another long and prolong sideways pattern like what we have seen in 3 months before another break out round, or investors are just waiting for some good news again to push passed this resistance price and then go $35k, which is the next barrier to break.

Unfortunately, Bornea was not lucky against Martinez as he has lost the fight as the referee step up and halt it because of too much blood from from his lacerated right earlobe.

And Martinez just started to plummet the Filipino here, and at the time of the stoppage, Martinez is ahead on the judges scorecard.

With that win, he successfully defended his belt against his mandatory. Nothing to be ashamed on Bornea though, he has given everything in this fight and showed big heart but Martinez is really highly skilled and just too much aggression.
1106  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Blackrock ETF for the win! on: June 24, 2023, 04:22:04 PM
From $26k naging $27k then biglang bulusok sa $30k.

1107  Economy / Speculation / Re: This year is dumping ground for bitcoin on: June 24, 2023, 02:18:03 PM
Today Bitcoin can return to $ 30k after about 10 hours ago $ 29k, of course this is a good sign to make us optimistic and hold longer, for me long term hold  is the best option because I am optimistic that the end of this year can reach at least $ 50k Because of Halving Day preparation.
If you say you are a long term investor, why would you bother with bitcoin going from $29k to $30k? It's really not that noticeable because bitcoin never stands still, and it's normal for it to fluctuate 1 or 2%. And that is not proof that bitcoin will continue to rise in the near term. If you regularly look at the bitcoin chart in recent days, you can see that, after bitcoin surged to $30.8k, bitcoin has ranged from $29k to $30k since yesterday hitherto.

Bitcoin can get above $ 30k which is good news, yes we know that Bitcoin has dumped from $ 64k to $ 16k in the last year,

It's because last year was the first year for us in a bear market, that's why it is expected that we will see a huge downfall, it's just a matter on what will be the bottom price for us. I know that it's hard to think about that. But how time flies, we are like just 300 days away from halving, the catalyst for the bull run. And so next year it will be entering a different phase.

but Bitcoin is able to answer that Bitcoin recovery is fast and has headed to $ 31k yesterday,
so there could be great potential to pump again.

It just shows how resilient Bitcoin is, even at worst time, you can always think that it will recover. And that's what has been happening since the beginning of the year. A slow phase and it took us months after months from the lowest low to $31k again.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 24, 2023, 01:44:55 PM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

As far as Eddie Hearn, he says that PBC, Top Rank and Golden Boy doesn't want him promoting in the US.

As for the PPV buys, I do agree, I don't see the fight getting or breaking the 1 million PPV buys, not a hater but they will be lucky to get 500,000 PPV. Still the king of PPV for this year is Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis.

Live gates must be different though, it could be sold out by now and only premium tickets might be available.

Were we expecting the Garcia vs. Davis fight to reach at least 1 million PPV buys? I believe the expectation was around 500k, give or take. Therefore, I think the Spence and Crawford fight is somewhat undervalued. It's possible that we might be surprised if they surpass the 1.2 million PPV buys of the Garcia vs. Davis fight.

It's good if Crawford-Spence PPV reaches or breaks 1.2 buys because it actually deserves knowing this is for the undisputed title and between 2 undefeated fighters. Davis and Garcia were not world champions but they are popular. Garcia is unproven but he is a celebrity outside of boxing with millions of followers. Tank Davis is gifted with explosive hands and is carefully matched by Mayweather, PBC, and Showtime against nobodies, has-beens, and other exploitation techniques. PBC has a huge following of African-Americans and many of them are casuals that would enjoy a Tank KO win against a bum than Spence winning a hard decision or a hard fight against another top-caliber opponent like Ugas.

So without serious trash-talking and bad blood, this fight might not reach a million buys.

So far though I haven't heard any serious trash talked between the two.

For the Davis vs Garcia fight, the build up was slow, but days before the fight we have heard about the rehydration clause and then trash talking by Ryan Garcia himself. They also need to put up a good lineup in the undercard, so far the only name that I can see it Pitbull Cruz, not sure though if he can bring lots of fans to watch the fight itself. Which mean those who are going to buy are willing to spend money to watch other fight not just the main card.

Not sure if we have discussed Jerwin Ancajas comeback fight this weekend as he will move up to 118 lbs and will fight a tune up fight against Wilner Soto in his new division.

Ancajas has been a great champion at 115 lbs defending his belt 9 times until he met  Fernando “Pumita” Martinez in which he lost 2x. So it's obvious that his body can't take 115 lbs and so they decided to go up now at bantamweight division.

https://www.ringtv.com/654814-title-shot-awaits-jerwin-ancajas-if-he-gets-past-wilner-soto/

Soto is 13:1 underdog here.

I am more interested in the main event where Fernando Martinez will once again defend his belt against another Ph contender Jade Bornea. The champion though remains the favorite.

Oh yes, definitely this is the main event and a must watch for us. 2 impressive wins last year in Mexico and that's why he has a crack against Pumita here. Bornea has a good power though, so this is going to be good fight and let's see if Martinez can handle his power.

Hopefully, Ancajas can show some signs that he is still an elite fighter. The division is starting once again after Inoue's ascension to 122. Ancajas was a long-time champion but I felt like he could've done more by unifying his belt or facing the other top fighters of the division. He was a champion and the division was rich with stars like Roman Gonzales and Juan Estrada.

Yup, that's why I'm more interested to see him at this new weight class. The excuses that they give for losing twice against Martinez is the weight. So if there are no problems right now we should be expecting form him to win by knockout against the huge underdog in Soto.

1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 04:57:13 PM
CP3 could still be a good addition, he has more experience in playoffs and crucial plays, he might be injury prone, but if he will be just getting quality minutes then perhaps the Warriors can really extend him and obviously trying to get another championship run with the old veterans as their core is like 33 years old and up.

No doubt about that because I know that the Golden State Warriors had a very good reason behind that move. Although I will not deny that part of me is questioning that move as well because you see, Chris Paul's vision is different because the man can literally set the table for the team and that's quite a good benefit but the problem is, he is very prone to injury and most of the time, that happens when playoffs or every crucial plays that the team badly needs him.

He is prone to injury just like any other ageing players, including Steph. But if the Warriors or CP3 himself remains healthy, I think he is still a very valuable addition to the team. As compare to Poole who is erratic sometimes and I will say that maybe the big contract might have gotten to his head and that's why he most of the time try to force the game into himself resulting into missed shots and crucial errors causing the Warriors a lost. CP3 could come out of the bench, and then have that quality minutes in the 4th quarter to orchestrate, with Steph, Klay, Green, Wiggins and or Looney.

1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin ETFs on: June 23, 2023, 03:52:04 PM
With renewed interest in bitcoin ETFs, we see a growing flow of institutional and retail investors into the cryptocurrency market. Do you think the race to accumulate bitcoin will begin, and what consequences it may have for the price and stability of this cryptocurrency?

The race to accumulate bitcoin is already the name of the game ever since, specially from early adopters. It's not the question of how we accumulate, it's the question on when we accumulate and when we are going to sell to make profits.

https://twitter.com/GregSchoen/status/70261648811761665

As for institutional investors accumulating, or companies holding BTC on their balance sheet,

https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/treasuries/

And they have been doing it with or without the renewed interested in Bitcoin ETF's that we have seen lately. This is smart investors, they are usually accumulate during crash, like what we witnessed last year when the price hits bottom at $15k.

1115  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Presyo ng bitcoin umangat on: June 22, 2023, 10:46:06 PM
dahil napatunayan na natin after every bear the price will go Bull.

Medyo umangat tayo ngayon ah, nasa $28k, kasi nitong mga nakaraang linggo eh parang nasa $25k-$26k or even $27k ang price range natin.

And tanong eh ma maintain ba natin tong pag angat ngayon? mahigit 5.x% in the last 24 hours na tayo.

pa 29k na nga eh as i posts this one , since this week parang nag up and down ang price sa 27-28k ngunit parang now may momentum na , pag na break natin ulit and 30k usd value , then malamang na naka recover na tayo sa issue ng Binance nitong nakaraang linggo.konting oras na lang eh makikita na natin ulit 30k and then  another position ang dapat ma break .

So another 6% increased na naman tayo in the last 24 hours.

And so is the countless threads that we have been, and this is going to be unending debate in my opinion.

In any case though, whichever is scarce, whether it's Bitcoin or Gold, the best thing to do is take advantage of it because we all know the basic adage of supply and demand are going to affect the price of both of this assets in the future. If you are a Gold bug then accumulate, if you are a Bitcoin enthusiast, continue to stack sats and HODL.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 22, 2023, 02:45:47 PM
After Finals end I was at the vacation as well and didn't check NBA news. Any suggestions for new poll? What's the hottest discussion right now?

Probably who will be the first pick in this years draft? (although the odds favor Victor Wembanyama).

Yeah, very interesting that Marcus Smart, who I think is the face of the Celtics as he has been with the team for 9 years and has played along some notable Celtics during that time, is moving to Grizzlies.

So now Memphis will have 2 DPOY on their side. But still the problem though, Ja Morant is going to missed 25 games and not sure if Smart is going to cover for him this season as he is not a offensive player.

The Celtics know what they are lacking, and I believe that adding Porzingis will help them spread the offense. Being a big man who can shoot from the 3-point line, he brings versatility to their game. However, the concern is whether he will stay injury-free. In my opinion, giving up Marcus Smart is not a significant problem as they have younger guys who can step up and fill his role. Hopefully, this trade will work out for all the teams involved.

Celtics is already good in spreading their offense, they have Tatum and Jaylen Brown. But yeah, they could be going full offense next year as they will have KP to shoot from the outside. Smart though is one of their leader so it could affect them mentally in the beginning. And now Jayson Tatum is the leader and the franchise player of the team. He should better step up now.

I'm just imagining what will be the atmosphere at Boston Garden when Marcus Smart comes back in his first game there as a Grizzlies.

For sure there will be a lot of respect from the Boston fans.
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 22, 2023, 02:06:07 PM
It won't matter if the SEC doesn't approve BlackRock's ETF application. Bitcoin will ALWAYS be fine because if you haven't noticed, they tried market manipulation, politics, FUD, network congestion, breaking crypto exchanges, and NONE of them worked to crash the market or to break the network. The Honey Badger simply don't care. We would be very lucky to catch a bid under $20,000.

Bitcoin doesn't need an ETF, but they probably do.

Various ways are done to bring down Bitcoin and even they look hypocritical, just to bring it down and be able to buy at a low price.

To that I have and will always say, Buy the DIP and HODL. Don't allow yourself to be the one getting front-run by the billionaires. We should be the people front-running them.

We're in BitcoinTalk, trying to learn more about the network, getting more information, understanding different perspectives, AND debating about the price almost everyday. I believe that should help us find better probabilities to bid close at the best entries.

 Cool

Yeah, I think if we want it to be simple and not complicate things on our end and think on when the price will go up or if the price nose dive because of whole SEC drama against Binance, it might be better to just buy in DIP and HODL.

DCA is one way, or if we have a huge capital then we can simple buy one time and put it on our wallet for safe keeping and just go back when the price hits all time high in the next coming years. For the lawsuit, we haven't heard any update yet from either side. But it's obvious that CZ will really fight this one. If most likely he will have his next move after the decision or maybe he has his plans already set in motion if ever he loses this case.
1119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 22, 2023, 01:22:14 PM

In your opinion, bitcoin is an asset or a currency?

It just evolved though, it was really design as a payment system. But there are individuals who I will say take advantage in the beginning and when bitcoin has a price, then it become a asset.

If bitcoin is an asset, it is now. Most people will hold bitcoin as an asset and take advantage of the rising price of bitcoin. If so you are still dominated by fiat

Yes, hedge against inflation, and store of value too. So there are a lot of uses of bitcoin, so it's up to the individual on how they are going to treat it.

If bitcoins were currency, it would be complicated if bitcoins were used to buy cheap things, transaction fees would be very expensive

Your argument is invalid though, it's not that complicated, there are countries already who uses LN for fast transactions. And there are still merchants who are accepting it as mode of payment but maybe the numbers right now is not that big.

I wonder how the FBI or exchange users got themselves to these unknown exchanges ,because I expected this to be with larger exchanges were liquidity is not a problem and they have a larger userbase...besides you can't hide behind a small exchange because all users are unique and they know the traits of each user and a person can easily be spotted!

Btw wonder why these guys didn't simply use a mixer or something if they have the skills to do their illegally sh*t, guess not so smart after all Roll Eyes

i'm sure they are all owned by one person, or a group of people all hosted on same server/account/dc.
The FBI is doing a good job and this will help limit these kind of exchanges where stolen funds are used to exchange for other things. This will limit there expansion even the culprits behind the exchange would want to create another exchange to continue there business. This is not the first time this is happening, I have seen similar sites that was shot down by the security for some offense similar to this one. We hope to see the continuous fight against fraudsters and illegal exchanges.

We can commend them, but they barely scratch the surface here in my opinion. There could still be hundreds of fly by night crypto exchanges around just being used by criminals or in the long run, going to scam their customers.

We've seen this in the past and this is going to be a cat and mouse game. And definitely FBI are not going out full force if there is no American involved or at least this criminals are not operating inside the US, hence they might know this exchange for a long time and only makes a moved recently.
Mixer services, exchange, cashing is a very big business in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries. Closing sites won't help here. A lot of people are ready to be drops for a small salary and there is no criminal liability for this. If in Europe and the USA it is difficult to cash out criminal money, then in these countries it is easy. All contacts are on the darknet forums, and sites are quickly restored.

Yes, and if we can add, this criminals are the one putting all this fly by night crypto exchanges in countries like you mentioned, specially Russia and Ukraine which to me this is a business already.

And as we all know that there are a lot of hackers too in that country and we have seen a lot of black hat community either in clearnet or TOR propagating this one or even offered services to create exchanges for this purposes. And it's very easy for them to register and get a domain name. So again, this is a big task ahead for US government, Interpol. And it will take the government intervention as well to cooperate and take down this crypto exchanges.
