1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 01, 2023, 09:31:19 PM
I know this is a bit controversial, but some casinos are looking the other way... when people are using VPNs. I know it might be legal in some instances, but you are still taking a risk by using it.

Online gambling is legal in my country, but sometimes I have to travel to a country where it is illegal. I then use a VPN to be able to access the site. This is one of the reasons why some casinos allow people to use VPNs..... but you are still taking a huge risk.

Now, the question is.... Will you still use a VPN, if it is not allowed by the ToS on the site. What will you do if they "block" your account and take your balance?

I guess you can't do anything about it if they take your balance because you know and they know that you have used a VPN and that you have violated their ToS. So the best thing thing to do when you travel to a country wherein gambling is illegal is just to stop your gambling habits for sometime because you know what the consequences will be if you insist on playing on your favorite casinos but then again you try to circumvent everything with a used of VPN.

And for sure we have seen countless horror stories here in the community, wherein a certain player with thousands of dollars in their account cannot withdraw their winnings because as much as they know that using VPN is illegal, they still proceed and now the unthinkable happens to them. So better be safe that sorry.
1202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 31, 2023, 11:46:49 PM
What you guys think on Denver-Miami series? What you would bet on? I think Denver is in advantage and will try to play agressive and make Miami take hard shots, so I would play Miami under first game.
Hi, JooBra

But the reality is that Miami has its number 22 very focused, it will be an unpredictable final but I lean my bet on Denver, in this first game I cannot go directly to a champion since I am not a fan of any of these finalists, Smiley  so the predictions... Game by Game.

Hard to predict indeed.

I don't what are the odds when Heat battled the Bucks, 10% chance of winning i think but they did manage to beat them in 5 games, then came the Knicks where i think the odds must be almost close to even and again they beat them with ease. ESPN analyst has put 3% on the Heat to win against the Celtics but then again they manage to slay another giant once more, good thing that I'm riding the Jimmy Buckets bandwagon hehe.

ESPN has Miami 11% to win this final, that's understandable because man for man, Nuggets really has the edge but in a championship series, heart and determination matter a lot and that is where Jimmy and the gang had the advantage plus no much pressure on to them because being in the Finals alone is a big accomplishment with a depleted line-up.

Will bet for the Heat here till game 7.  Cool

For Game 1,  I might go with the Heat at ML, hehehe, I know they are a huge underdog but the odds are very enticing at the start of Game 1 so I will take that huge risk for the Heat.

I'm also on the Jimmy Buckets bandwagon so let's see how far he can make this series against the Denver Nuggets teams. Again, they have been underrated since game 1 of this playoffs and yet Jimmy proved his MVP mentality since the series against the Bucks. So it's going to be Jimmy against Jamal Murray, and let's see if Aaron Gordon can somewhat stop him.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could invested assets be nullified by progressive gas fee after halving? on: May 31, 2023, 11:31:33 PM
Even if the tx fees increased in the future, let's say in the next bull run, I think you can still make profits for it. Specially if you are doing DCA and using this strategy to buy BTC and fatten your wallets. Of course, you can set all the fees if you have in a wallet that you have total control of and that is one thing. But if you are in a CEX (Centralized Exchanges), then you can't set up the fees for your self.

So if we are talking about Bitcoin here then you should save it to a non-custodian wallet like Electrum and then adjust the fees as you please.
1204  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Bitcoin May Be Worth $1 Billion by 2038, Fidelity Says on: May 31, 2023, 11:18:41 PM
Timmer’s own demand model grows very slowly in proportion to the stock-to-flow combination supply model. The asset management director’s demand model predicts that BTC will reach $1 million by 2030. On the other hand, the stock-to-flow combination model forecasts a price of between $1 million and $10 million by 2030.

Jurrien Timmer’s demand model seems to historically represent the floor or the bottom of the price. The stock-to-flow model appears to be a better fit for the peak. However, the gap between both models widens significantly after 2030. One of the suggested reasons for the widening gap after 2030 is the change in the value of the dollar. It should be noted, however, that this reasoning is not set in stone.

The models are just extrapolation of past performance into the future, but practice shows that sooner or later performance changes. It already happened with Bitcoin during the last cycle - the relative increase between 2021 bull market and 2017 was only 250%, compared to the 2013 and 2017 which was 2000%. This is why Plan B 100k prediction failed - it was just an extrapolation.

I can also make an extrapolation of these diminishing relative market tops and conclude that Bitcoin will reach a plateau in a few more cycles, because the next top increases will be even smaller relatively to the previous ones. But who knows, maybe Bitcoin will break this pattern too and show some fantastic gains similar to the early days.

And if S2F models fails in the last bull run, what makes other modelling different though? That is the big question and so far again, we can look at the past and extrapolate data and then come up with our own prediction which might be wrong or correct along the way. But it doesn't mean that we have found the holy grail though, there are a lot of factors that we need to consider and at least we should be putting 100% in this kind of predictions.

By chance what if this predictions become true? then good for us, and for those who continue to accumulate and see this modelling as a solid basis. But if the price prediction didn't occur then I guess it will have the same faith as S2F modelling, "lost in obscurity".
1205  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Presyo ng bitcoin umangat on: May 31, 2023, 11:08:06 PM
So after a week of this news, wala naman masyadong pang angat, bagkus parang bumaba pa nga tayo at naglalaro sa presyo ng $26k-$27k. And first time yata natin this year na hindi maging green ang dildo at the end of the month.

Pwedeng mag sideways parin tayo for this month. Historically eh mahina talaga ang June para satin.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: May 31, 2023, 10:57:21 PM
The poll is just about right, many of us are siding with Bud Crawford in this fight. In terms of activity, Spence hasn't fought in the last year, so I would give the advantage to Crawford. But I do expect the fight to go into the full 12 rounds. Similar to what we've seen in the Haney vs Loma fight, it's like a chess match and then in the championship rounds, we will see who wanted to fight the fight more, who has the heart.

Let's see how the first fight will conclude fight before talking of a rematch and then the trilogy itself. Even fighters says that this fight is 50/50 but in the end, give the edge to Crawford slightly.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 31, 2023, 10:47:09 PM
This is still very early, but I'm sure that we have heard Rolly Romero calling out Ryan Garcia after his controversial win against Ismael Barroso to capture the vacant WBA 140 lbs title. And with that, Ryan already responded as says,

https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1662519299083493378

We've seen Ryan Garcia already back in the gym, this time and obviously everyone knows about it, he has move to Derrick James as his new trainer and trying to be a slick boxer, hehehehe. And if ever this fight would materialized, this one is good to be honest, both has power, both has been drained at 135 lbs when they fought Tank Davis, so at 140 lbs and fully rehydrated, there will be a lot of fireworks and power in this fight. We've seen that Rolly is vulnerable to left hook, while Ryan's weaknesses is his body. So very interesting clash of styles, so hopefully we can see this fight later this year if everyone is really on board on pushing this one.

I smell that Ryan Garcia is just bluffing. But in Romero's case, it makes sense since he might not be able to hold the belt against the real contenders of the division. Garcia just came from a KO defeat so it's like an easier defense but financially big. But unless I can hear from Oscar De La Hoya, Garcia is just talking so people would see that he is not scared of Romero. But maybe this is doable if Garcia is really, serious. Both seem weak in the division but very popular so it is beneficial for both of them. And Garcia may not be able to get another title shot if Romero losses the belt to someone really good.

But there's also the promotional and network that both camps need to address. It is obvious that Garcia is the bigger name so I wonder if PBC and Showtime will allow GBP and DAZN to the event so the fight will go on. Just like when GBP and DAZN allowed them during the Tank-Garcia fight.

Yeah, hehehe, that could be the case again and again, I' curious as how the fight will turn out to be, because we all know that they've the same style, Lol, that is no style and just rely on their power to finished off their opponents. But the money that this fight can generated, perhaps the numbers could be closed to the Haney vs Loma in terms of PPV numbers?

However,  Rolando Romero-Ohara Davies Mandatory 140-Pound Title Fight Ordered By WBA.

Initially he said that he doesn't want to face Ohara Davies because he is a no-name fighter. But I guess he would have to follow the mandate of WBA because Davies is their mandatory.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 29, 2023, 11:24:00 PM
This is going to be one of the most epic games that was ever played, I can't wait to see how the 7th game will turn out. I am not betting on it, I lost sooo much money on the last 3 games when I wagered on Heat, I wagered more and more each time thinking "this is the time!" thinkin they will eventually get it.

I am done trying to make it back, each time I did I lost, maybe Miami will actually win the 7th game, and if I wagered on them maybe I would get it all back, it's a possibility, I see it 50-50% at this point and anything could happen. But I am done risking all my money all the time, it reached to a level where I am not comfortable betting that much on a single game, if I lose then I would be losing more than I could afford and I don't do that. So I will refrain.

No worries mate, you are not the only one banking on the Heat to win the series and losing money in the last 3 games, hehehe. But this could be the last time though, again I will be on the Heat's bandwagon on this game 7 decider at ML, it's too good not to go to and I think the numbers still favors them, unless they are going to be unlucky again. So it's either going to be a big blow up win by the Celtics, Tatum showing his wares in this game 7 and scoring 30+ or more, or Jimmy Butler's having his own run, and forget about game 6, have a good shooting night, no one can guard him and then they win the series in a very close game again. So just one game to see if we can get back some money betting on the Heat ML, still juicy at 3.45.

1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 29, 2023, 10:44:33 PM
I don't think that Haney will re-sign with Bob Arum, he should give thanks to Bob though for giving him the opportunities, that 3 fight contract gave Haney all the belts, 2x against Kambosos (who fortunately, remain loyal to Bob Arum and re-sign), and then his controversial win, or shall we say lost to Loma. And with that, he can go back to Match Room and perhaps Eddie Hearn can give him Prograis at 140 lbs, could be a good prospect for another belt for Haney. I don't think that he will give Loma his due rematch, he could give a lot of excuses for avoiding him. Shakur could chase him, but if Haney is on another promotion already, it might be difficult to make without Shakur sacrificing lots of money and Haney will call the shots as obviously he will be the A-side. Loma on the other hand will be the number 1 rank boxer in the 4 bodies, he will be given that special privilege after what happen to the Haney fight. So most likely he will have another crack for the belt but it won't be as unified champion anymore, which is his dream.
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 07:06:19 PM
First of all I am the only person in my area who has a basic understanding of Bitcoin. That is, in the region where I live, no one but me knows about Bitcoin.

The maximum number of friends I hang out with are unemployed. They are not uneducated they are all well educated in their respective positions but due to lack of adequate facilities they are unable to find any employment. When we walk together I talk to them about Bitcoin but they tell me that they have only heard about Bitcoin on various social media and they think that if anyone is involved in Bitcoin, the administration of our country will arrest them. Because it is through this kind of news that they are aware of Bitcoin. But when I tell them that I have a rough understanding of Bitcoin. Then they don't want to believe me when I tell them all about bitcoin they believe me. And I assure them if we all get involved in Bitcoin maybe our unemployment will go away. Because there are enough ways to earn money with Bitcoin.

Out of all my friends two of my friends have some savings and when I told them about the investment they became very interested in investing but I didn't tell them only the positive aspects of the investment I told them the negative aspects. And I know the rest of my friends would also be interested in learning about Bitcoin but I just don't know how to start teaching them about it. Because bitcoin crypto currency is completely illegal in my country. So how can I help my friends in this regard?

Hope you guys can give me proper feedback on this and help me move forward in helping them.

You already help them by telling everything about Bitcoin, the good and the bad, and that's is enough I guess. I was caught though by the statement that a Bitcoin is illegal in your country? And most likely that is the reasons why Bitcoin is not popular in your country because the government is not open about it and it might be a concern for you as well.

The consequences though in the end might not be worth the risk for you and your friend just saying. You just don't know, and I'm not saying that this will happen, but what it the government find out about your Bitcoin activity? And if you bring your friends into it, they might be also in trouble?
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 28, 2023, 06:22:53 PM
What a game, what a come back.

It seems that we know that where this game is going to end but who knows? Everything was perfect for Celtics and this wasn't too easy for a team to have that 3 wins straight.

But we'll see if game 7 is still theirs but maybe it is and the court will be theirs. Will it be for the Celtics and a straight 4 wins gonna make them history or Heat will have to take it back for that very 1 needed win?

Yes, three minutes to go and we thought that the series will go on a 7 games series. But not yet for the Heat and Jimmy Butler, make a huge comeback and then Jimmy had to sink 3 crucial free throws to make it a one point lead, so they come alive and going to finished it. But then come the miracle tip in by Derrick White. And it just proved that it's not over if there are still precious seconds in the clock. It was a good play by the Celtics though, Tatum and Brown are not available, so it was Smart who takes the ball.

It was an incredible endgame, I honestly thought the Miami Heat would beat it, but things changed at the last second. A really exciting final match will be waiting for us. Both teams need to be very well prepared, the team with better individual player performance will win the last match. It was one of the most exciting series we have watched in recent years Smiley
Who would have expected Boston to be able to come back? Now they are the favorites to win the series after being down 0-3. I would say they were fortunate to get that last shot. There are some controversies among fans suggesting that the game should be investigated. However, it's all in the past now, and we have to move on. Especially for the Heat fans, there's still one game left, so don't worry.

Exactly, now the Celtics are going to be the huge favorite going into their home court. I thought also this game that it will be the Heat. But it could be miracle that White is at the right spot when Smart throws that three point shot.

I don't think there should be an investigation, the decision is final now, the series is tied 3-3 and now we are looking for another history in this series. It's just a matter which side of history will happen here.

Celtics coming back from 0-3 and win in a playoff series.

Heat becoming only the 2nd team to advance to the finals as 8th seed.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 28, 2023, 11:00:09 AM
This is for Filipino boxing fans in this forum.

Tomorrow, PH time, Melvin Jerusalem will make his first WBO minimumweight title against Puerto Rican Oscar Collazo.

What makes this fight interesting is that Jerusalem is placed as the underdog against Collazo, who by the way has only six fights as a pro boxer. On the interview, Jerusalem said that he is motivated by the underdog tag and I'll bite that  Grin, so I'm placing a bet for him ML @3.51. Hope he will retain the crown and continue the streak of upsets done by Filipino boxers.

Unfortunately, I have to be the breaker of this sad news, but Melvin Jerusalem lost the fight as he was stop in the 7th rounds by Collazo. Melvin did start great in the first four rounds, but it seems that Collazo is just taking his time and trying to read Melvin early.

As it become move evident that Collazo is the more powerful puncher between the two and for 3 1/2 rounds he started to battered our very own Melvin. And as tough as he is, Jerusalem says "no mas".
1214  Economy / Speculation / Re: If history repeats itself: 2023 vs 2019 on: May 28, 2023, 10:20:54 AM
There is no doubt that we are going to see a massive bull run in 2024-2025. The point of the OP is that if history will repeat itself, then we might see $50k at least for this year before the big bull run that we are expecting right after the block halving in May.

Basing the assumption on technical analysis. I recently saw that China may change its position on cryptocurrencies. I am more confident that that could give the price a nice boost and it will go to $50K in no time than technical analysis which is probabilistic and serves rather more to try to understand the past than to predict the future.

It might be a good boost if this is really true though, but as I have said in the past, I don't trust China with their word specially if they are going to make U-turn on Bitcoin and crypto.

if it does happen then it is a positive sign because history is indeed repeating, and we will see a bull run in 2024 to 2025,
but if this year Bitcoin fails to $ 50k, then I think we must also be vigilant, because it is most likely 2024 or 2025 bullish will not come either,
I don't know if this is still a mystery, what is certain is that you don't experience bad things if it happens, make sure you take the right actions.

That's always been the case in Bitcoin cycles though, so far history continue to repeat itself, although the numbers might not be exactly as the last bull run. But definitely there are numbers and data that we can look and say that maybe it will happen again.

As what the OP wanted to show us in his graph, the best price at the end of the year could be $50k and that will be big entry point for the next all time high.
1215  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Selfie Verification sa Gcash on: May 28, 2023, 09:50:00 AM
Oo mga meron ngang selfie verification ang Gcash at implemented na to. Although there could be issues naiisip ko like hindi ma approved and selfie mo or there could be some form of glitch.

And again, this could be taken advantage of hackers as well, baka may matanggap kayo na text messages at sinasabing kelangan nyo i click ang link nakasaad dito, so just be careful since mukang prone ang Gcash sa ngayon sa mga hackers lalo na nung nagawan sila ng breach the last time, tiyak cat and mouse game na to, Gcash vs mga hackers.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Fiat - the Difference That no One Talks About on: May 25, 2023, 11:44:06 PM
It seems to me the OP really don't understand why Bitcoin was created in the first place. I'm just seeing "banks", "banknotes" in his long post, but we have to remember that this is coded in the genesis block,

Quote
The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.

So there you go you got your answer there. And this is the classic textbook lessons in school that the OP is trying to infuse in his argument and that is why majority of us are in debt in banks and loans up above our head.

If others want to live on that kind of space, then be enslave to fiat system. But if you want to get out of it, then I would suggest to the OP to try Bitcoin because his arguments is flaw in the beginning. Getting something out of a resources? That is traditional fiat system for you.

And perhaps this argument is not for Bitcoin, it could be in other altcoins as well.
1217  Economy / Speculation / Re: My advice to you regarding bear markets. on: May 25, 2023, 11:07:55 PM
Is this OP still alive in the forum? Because the last active Date was October 24, 2022. And he registered on that the same October 21, 2022. And he has done only 7 post. Probably he is busy with office works that he has no time to come to the forum or the forum rules has fished him out.well it is a good advice for the newbies who are just joining the system. Acquiring bitcoin in the bear market is the best and you can sell it out in the bull market.

Lol, he could be just one of the statistics that just created an account here and then left, and he is probably part of  Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why?, by @Igebotz.

The 4-year cycle is not too strange for many investors, but it seems that people don't want to wait and they just want to get rich quickly from bitcoin. If you notice, most of the discussion about bitcoin price on the forum, most expect bitcoin to recover quickly, even many people believe bitcoin will hit ATH this year, but there is no basis for those predictions. If we all accept the facts and be patient with the market, then obviously, this is the golden time to accumulate bitcoin, not sit there daydreaming about the impossible.

Correct. many hope that a miracle will come quickly, even though if we see that if the selling continues, the resistance wall will not be broken. my mind will have to wait for the whales or institutions to intervene for this where it is said that BTC users have grown and are large and I agree that this is the golden time to accumulate bitcoin as you said but the progress seems different.

I'm on the different side here, if there will be huge movement, it will come to average joe like you and me, it's not from the whales per se. As far as I understand, whales in the market is already set, what we just here is that they are just constantly moving their BTC to a wallet that is safe. And with that, if we will see a massive run, then it's us that is moving the market.

Nevertheless, I will agree with the notion that it is still a period of accumulation. Meaning even though the price is $26k and it could be expensive for the majority of us, we can still buy and save and just HODL. We can used the old strategy of DCA when trying to buy Bitcoin.

We still have a year to go, and maybe in the next bull run, a conservative $100k could be the price next and the new all time high will be big and obviously there will be profits for us. But it should start now, continue to accumulate as much as we can. It doesn't mean whole BTC per se, it might be just a couple of sats here and there. The game plan is we should go for long in Bitcoin.
1218  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 25, 2023, 10:45:49 PM
I actually just had to agree to new ToS on stake last time I logged in. Is there a certain casino you are accusing of this? Let's be honest, if you are of legal gambling age, live in a country that's allowed on said website, and can confirm your funds then ToS doesn't bother you.

Yes sir, when you logged back in to Stake you will see that they have a new Tos and you have to agree before you can proceed and play. Although I did checked my emails and there was none regarding the ToS but I think the pop-up is enough for Stake gamblers that their is a new set of ToS.

As for this case, I haven't seen the casino that the OP is accusing, I think it's better for us to know which one, if it is reputable or not so that we may call their attentions. But I guess maybe the OP doesn't want to reveal it so this discussion could be open for interpretation, fault of the user for not knowing the new ToS or casino itself for not notifying their customers.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 25, 2023, 10:27:30 PM
Crazy that people are talking about trading LeBron to the Warriors… I’m not sure what LA would get from that. LeBron sells tons of jerseys and tickets, not to mention he carries teams to the postseason. This would be the greatest thing to ever happen to the Warriors franchise. I can’t see it happening though.

Not going to happen, I doubt that the Lakers are willing to go that route unless Lebron himself ask for a trade and with the Warriors to boot. Perhaps the core of the Warriors will remain and might go for another round next year if everything goes as plan.

I highly doubt that Celtics could do anything to win, not just game based but the series. Why? Because not only they are trailing 3-1, you need them to win one more to put pressure on Heat, then another one if they can snatch a win, and then another one thanks to momentum... That's 3 games in a row and you are expecting Heat to just be dumbfounded during all this time? Obviously not, just a single game, one game where the ball doesn't drop as well as you hope for, and you got yourself a loss of the series.

I still think that Heat will end it tonight and we are going to see them get a few days rest, it is going to be an easy game for them and I do not see a way out of this by Celtics, no matter how much they try and how hard they work, it won't happen.

Yes, I also don't think that the Celtics is going to survived the series against the Heat. Maybe the Heat is tired or they just give that last game or maybe the Celtics really wanted it more because they don't want to be swept by the number 8 seed. Nevertheless, they can't stop it from happening, as we have said, no team has ever comeback from 0-3 and even if they have Tatum, the Heat shows that they can slow him down, not necessarily stop him because he is a offensive weapon. What the Heat is doing is to make him uncomfortable, playing physical without committing any foul. The big factor here is that if Vincent is not playing, the Heat is losing one body to put on Tatum or to Jaylen Brown. But let's see how Spo will do the adjustments throughout the game.

I suggest to the OP to update the date, it's set for July 29.

Seeing lot of fans already debating this one, hehehe, of course each one of us will have our own prediction. And this could be huge fight in July as we also have the Fulton vs Inoue as well.

Unification fight, both undefeated, both in their primes.

As per Sportsbet.io, Crawford is the favorite, 1.66 against Spence 2.09 ML.
