How can a retired Polish astronaut/cosmonaut have gone to space and say the Earth is flat? If the Earth is flat there is no space, so he can't have gone there, and if he didn't go to space he's not an astronaut/cosmonaut.

That dissertation only uses the word firmament because it's been badly translated from Russian to English. Besides that this dictionary defines firmament as a sphere of an interest, so it can't be flat, it must be spherical.

If we talks about fake news and propaganda, then there are even more global and serious issues than flat Earth.

And my opinion is that the term "flat Earth" was coined specifically to make our worldview flat, instead of voluminous. Therefore, raise again, to whom and why it is beneficial to say so.

And one more thing: there is a lot of evidence on the Internet that the surface of the Earth is definitely not flat. You can check it out for yourself. For this experiment, you will need a laser, a lake, a few people and a boat.
