is it safe to say that ok is more for daily spending?
I notice ok is always paired next to bitcoin. besides the obvious, what connection do they have? they are different blockchains.
not fudin, I like ok, bought a nice bag full the past 2 weeks and staking. I love the algorithm, the youtube videos are awesome +1

We are not officially paired with Bitcoin, but we believe that Bitcoin has its place and we are not trying to go over it. We're trying to work along Bitcoin and have both currencies growing and flourish to the world.

The global cypto market is tiny, so alt-coins naturally gravitate to the pairings with the highest liquidity - namely Bitcoin. That's all there is to it.

The global cypto market is tiny, so alt-coins naturally gravitate to the pairings with the highest liquidity - namely Bitcoin. That's all there is to it. Well some altcoins have their own projects and doesn't necessarily gravitate around Bitcoin. Take Burst, HZ and NXT for example: It's manly an asset coins, or at least that's how I see it. GAME is manly for the gaming world and have some major companies backing it up. XMR and ZEC is for privacy and as most users will use them, for Black market purchases. OK on the other hand is all about global use. Being integrated to the world as we know it and being used in the local store. OKMap will be there to encourage companies to use OK by providing free advertisement. I understand that, that was the main purpose of Bitcoin from the start as well. But right now it's too slow to be used as a day to day currency when sometimes it can takes more than an hour for 1 block to be confirmed, which means if you're lucky, you'll only wait an hour, if your transaction isn't in that block, then you're screwed and have to wait for the other block. OK is very fast and we're working hard to have it accepted on different platform to help it being traded and accepted and used for different goods. I disagree when you say: that's all there is to it. It's not that. We can view Bitcoin as a piece of gold, while OK as your main currency. Gold you keep it to have safe money on hand that you know that will constantly increase and that you'll always make money with it no matter what happens. While you're main currency, you use it every day to go buy yourself some beer at the liquor store at the corner, or some grocery or whatever.

Hello! Not fud at all there are exchanges that have ok with other pairings, but like most alts btc provides the best liquidity at the moment. If you ever need to move that bag full there are plenty of us willing to buy off market with an escrow in between.

any suggestions how the block halfing will affect the price of OK? Before the BTC halfing this summer a lot auf augurs are saying this will dump the price for BTC because mining will be more expensive. As you can see the opposite happened!

For PoW currencies such as Bitcoin, it's true that when an halving occurs the mining gets more expensive. While with PoS, the main variable that makes it expensive or not is the price of the coin. If I buy 100k OK at 500 sat (50,000,000 sat) and stake them all, I would be expecting (according to the wallet) a reward every hour or so (can be more, can be less, it's just a rough approximation). But if the OK price goes up, let's say that now I want to buy 100k OK but since the price went up to 800 sat, I will have to pay 80,000,000 sat for the same amount and frequency of rewards. Also the difference with the halving, is that instead of getting 20k OK you'll get 10k OK. If we go electricity wise for having the wallet online 24/7, I would say that if running your node on a full-size PC is an issue or will be an issue after halving, I recommend you to invest in a Raspberry Pi or a PINE64+ and download the Raspberry Pi OKCash Operating System (AKA ROKOS) at rokos.space and use it to run your OK wallet at an electricity cost 50x-100x less than your full-size PC. What's for your question, it's hard to determine what the market will chose to do. There are reasons why BTC is going up right now and there will be reasons why OK will be going up in the future.

I personally have all my OK on my own wallet stored on ROKOS, but I do have enough to get regular staking rewards on my own.

Are there any options for accepting OKCash for online merchants? Specifically for Wordpress/WooCommerce? I only see one plugin that added OKCash called Cripto-Pay, but it doesn't look too popular.

Slowly but surely, we're trying to get OKCash on the coinpayment plugin. It's supporting every famous shopping cart plugin, and that there are already Over 105,000 vendors across 182 different countries. They are asking for 1 BTC total to add OKCash and any other Cryptocurrency. We don't make any profit out of it. If anyone care to vote (pay them 0.001 BTC) you can do so here: https://www.coinpayments.net/vote
