Far more people would get involved if a CPU based coin only. And the testnet wallet was working just fine? I don't understand why you would disable CPU mining

I'm confused.

I don't understand why you would disable CPU mining If you want, you can enable CPU mining by using 'siac', a command line tool provided in the release. You're highly unlikely to find any blocks though. GPUs, even slow ones, are 10x - 50x as fast as the fastest CPUs, even overclocked i7s

I'm confused. Yes I was thinking last night how ingenious this wallet was, with the click of a button you were up and running and mining. Had I known CPU was going to be disabled I would not have wasted my time. We need a good CPU based wallet/mining system as was first tested? I am really turned off now ...

Sorry my friend Sia never had any goals to be a CPU-only coin. Sia will probably have ASICs sooner than later, we've already got verilog implementations of the mining algorithm. Ok, have the new wallet open, but have no idea how to set up a GPU miner... or where to point to a pool etc.... need some clarity
Unless pure solo mining right now....
