Ya 200 GH on network already!

Odds of finding a block these days is pretty darn slim, unless you have 1 GH or more of hash, even then they will be scarce.

I have hit 1 confirmed block in the last 3 days at avg. 325 MH. Sporadically hashing at best due to miner crashes and wild block find counts. I am going to mine though Sunday then that's it on this coin.

Fortunately out of the gate in the first 12 hours I captured many blocks at almost full payout. Would have been double if my internet hadn't crashed during that first night as I slept Sad grateful to have got as many blocks as I did.

Now if a new AMD miner software should happen to release that can do better than the 105 MH I get on a 7970 then I may resume hashing, but will have to be a big performance increase. With no true coin value as of yet, its hard to measure the ROI vs electricity. Plus we are heading into a heat wave here in the south, with heat index of 105-110 Whoa!! that's some serious hot and humid heat... my old miners won't like it to much lol

In the meantime I am hodling my SIA  Grin

Then next on to dedicated storage units and hopefully work on selling that storage. That's where the next wave of SIA can come perhaps

Yes, I agree with you.
We're all wasting our power with the poor miners.
When the miners have a large BUG release wallet, which is itself a conspiracy

Nope, it's one or 2 big ass farmers with modded miner (a little birdy told me...) ;-)
lol, yep I guess these guys that still had there old BTC and Litecoin farms have resurrected their farms since we actually have a coin that may have great value as time goes on... I knew one guy that had a 80 MH farm ( measured in BTC terms  sha-256) which is massive for this algo....

think about this..

The market is loading up with currency, but the design of the coin is constant inflation with intent to spend. siacoins are not meant to hold value, they are meant to transfer value. Mining supports the backbone of the tx, but even with increasing difficulty, there are more and more siacoins being mined which will provide downward pressure on the price over (long enough) time.

The function of siacoin is to pay for hosting files. file hosting on the big guys is cheap. Sia will be even cheaper, and be the payments will be distributed to hosts, not extracted to Corporate earnings or Advertising budgets

In summary here, hashing is going way up, which is great since it secures the network, mining is getting easier to use, again good for network. Price will rise a bit here as difficulty increases, but without a pressure release value we get a bubble. If there was an exchange, that would be our valve. Once there is a market for hosting, that will serve to level the price even more. In the absence of those, we get some excitement. Don't let it carry you away.

On a related note, I know of a NXT asset that holds 222 sianotes..

Hashrate has always been an indicator of price. Once more and more people want coins, more people mine them and hence the hashrate increases.
Usually the hashrate increases first and then its waves are hitting the market and synch it upwards.
Futher more we were at 3-4 min blocktime last time i checked - that means the mentioned inflation will DECREASE by factor of 3 compared to 10 min final blocktime.
You mentioned a bubble - well for me bitcoin is more of a bubble than siacoin, because siacoin creates value. Sia will always be worth something, because you can do something with it directly.
You could call that intrinsic value if you like. That intrinsic value will be the backbone to make it a good exchange of value as well - especially as payments are instand.

hashrate is a good indicator of interest, agreed. I did not know about blocktime changes, thats a cool design. Smart and thanks for the info

My use of bubble is not condemning the coin, but commenting that in the absence of open, simple means of exchanging Siacoins, either by mining, hosting, or buying on an exchange,  the price will MAY see some rapid inflation. Once these paths are opened and transactions flow easier, the pressure valves of the market come into play.

Who knows where this will price itself. I have been a follower of Sia since the beginning in the Proof of Storage days. Share prices dropped from 8000nxt to 505nxt on that news. Still a lot of tech to get right here, and the miners are not the ones interested in the health of the project. They are interested in today's hashrate.
