Can a wallet stake without leaving it open and running?

No. It has to be running to stake. In an ideal world the wallet should be running 24/7 to help secure the network. In reality just opening once a week or once a month for a few hours will allow you stake.

Have you any connections?It takes a while for it to get started especially if it hasnt been open for a while.We are working on making things a bit more efficient at the moment and that is one of the issues being discussed.There are plenty of connections though so when you get hooked up to one it should sync in no time.

Currently the Proof of Stake Algorithm does NOT take into account the amount of time an XBC wallet has been open and running. I would like XBC Team to adjust the algorithm so that users who stake 24/7 get a larger amount than those who only open their wallet once a year.

I noticed that on the official site under the Sustainability plan there is a link to a Google docs spreadsheet that outlines a fund theoretically staking at Poloniex and various things about that. The spreadsheet has not been updated since 3/11/2016 when I load it. Is that still something that is active? I like the way the development team has been running this coin a lot and think it has a lot of potential, but this is just an area on the site I think should be updated (or deleted if appropriate) to reflect the current situation. As it is, it raises question marks on an otherwise very good site.

The spreadsheet is only updated after a stake payout which happens usually every 2 months hence no update since that date.
