Last T20 World Cup was a disaster. And not just because of the time zone. The tournament was scheduled during rainy season, and a number of matches (including those involving the Indian team) were washed out. A few more matches were impacted and overs were cut short. The broadcasters were pissed off, but the ICC just ignored their concerns. For the next cycle (2028-31), I am not expecting a repeat of the $3.04 billion deal that they got for the current cycle. They would be lucky if they get $2 billion.
I agree with the observations you mentioned about T20 world cup but what makes you think that in the next world cup it will be hard to get a deal of 2$ billion ? The next ICC T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and I don't think India will settle for any less budget. Or are you suggesting that we had the budget of $3 billion only because it was held in the first world country, the United States of America
