I haven't watched any Bundesliga 2 teams play but Heidenheim seems to have a very strong record in home games. They haven't lost since October last year and have played 16 games since out of which they have won 13 and 3 draws. While this is a bit different since there is something more on the line for both teams so anything could happen. I would say BTTS is good to go in this intense fixture that is about to go down in just a few minutes.

I was also feeling Heidenheim is going to be good for next season in Bundesliga but Werder Bremen have some different ideas what a start for them just 4th minute and own goal by Heidenheim defender look like they are going to stay in for next season and will try to do some better.

I think better to let the relegation playoffs like this. If the 3rd team in 2.Bundesliga isn't able to win vs the third last team in 1.Bundesliga then better to stay in 2.BL until they will be able to do something in the first.

Sure, but the problem is that both teams have two completely different situations when they meet for the relegation playoffs. If a team gets promoted to the first league it usually goes on a shopping spree, if a team relegates, it has to let most of their squad go. The squads of a typical second league team cannot be compared to those of a first league team.

They have done it before against Stuttgart from 0-2 to 2-2 and against Hamburg from 0-1 to 2-1. Both in second half, where they usually play from left to right (like today in second half) and thus towards the goal they like more. But Stuttgart/Hamburg are not Werder and I hope they won't score two without Werder scoring again. 1-1 would be ok with me though

Shit happens! Heidenheim scored on 85' and the score is 1 - 1 Bremen... Fingers crossed. It is 90+1' right now and stress level is rising

Game ended 2:2 with some late minutes drama as common on Heidenheim games. Congrats to Werder and all their supporters.

If it stayed 1:1 Werder would still gone trough because of the away goals. As soon as first goal happened it was impossible to get extra time in this match.

That first goal in this match threw away all my predictions and made most off my bets very hard to end favorably. Still I would have ended in very nice plus if game ended 1:1. I had quite large bets on under 2.5 goals and Werder total under 1.5 goals. This way only my 1X on Heidenheim hit with super late penalty so it wasn't total bust but it was near.

Congrats to Werder Bremen for stay in the First German League after the relegation match against Heidenheim.
It was an intresting match and in the End of the Game it was realy dramatic , Heidenheim played very well and hasnt got luck.
My bet on the game wasnt right but i also placed a bet that they stay in the League.

I feel a bit bad for Heidenheim, although Werder is way more suited for the Bundesliga. Based on what I saw in these 2 games, Heidenheim is a fighting team but without much quality.
This style would not have worked for them in the Bundesliga and it's maybe better for them to build on this result further in the 2nd league than to be cannon fodder in the 1st.

yeah, someone put here statistic that 8/11 times Bundesliga teams stayed in, so this could be expected, but it was a bit for nerves
we have one more tonight, Nurnberg is playing Ingolstadt, with good chances to stay in 2. Bundesliga, it could be said that lower ranked teams from upper divisions are still better than best teams from lower divisions, but there is an experience in tough matches vector as well

anyway, it is good to see Werder in Bundesliga next season, they are an important part of football tradition in Germany

Yeah better for them to improve, make some new contracts with good players...etc or else they will end up relegating the next season which is shameful for such good team honestly...
Same goes for Schalke and +11 ranked teams in general..

Hehe, I loved those last minutes, traders paradise, I just missed to lay Werder again after they scored the 2-1 Very nice result. We keep to see Werder in Bundesliga and Heidenheim can keep vulturing 2. Bundesliga with ugly football.

For Bundesliga vs. 2. Bundesliga I would agree, but for 2. Bundesliga vs. Dritte Liga not - quality difference between the teams is not that big there. At the end of a season I would rate a good 3rd division better than a bottom 2nd division team. This also reflects in playoff results, where since its re-introduction 3rd division teams had the upper hand 8/11, so complete opposite.


Ingolstadt X2 is my bet for today, odds are already dropping. They have been one hell of an away team this season going 10-5-4 with 29-16 goals scored. Especially those only 16 conceded goals is a very nice stat, when we look at the home record of Nürnberg, which is pathetic with 3-7-7 and 15-31 goals scored.
Ingolstadt just played on Saturday and Nürnberg had a longer break (9 days), which could be some advantage in the latter stages. At least Ingolstadt didn't have long travels going to Munich and now to Nürnberg. Stefan Kutschke (13 goals), who left the 1860 game injured, will be available, which is good news.
I can imagine Nürnberg being happy with a scoreless draw here, because they are aware of their good away record and Ingolstadt's abysmal home record, so they could put their focus on the 2nd leg a bit, just trying to come unscathed out of 1st leg. While they probably would be happy with it, I don't think they will just sit back and wait for the 90 minutes to pass by, which should play in the hands of Ingolstadt then and I can even imagine them taking all "3 points" here. But this is something to figure out inplay then. Ingolstadt HC-1 for odds above 8.00 looks tempting though.

Bremen almost managed to stay in 1. Bundesliga without scoring a goal of their own. 
I didn't watch many games in 2. Bundesliga from Heidenheim. But what the goalkepper Heidenheim ward off yesterday was really sensational.

Werder is definately a historic team, they haven't been demoted in 40 years...

At the beginning of the season I didn't see them fighting to stay in the first Bundesliga... they almost got to stay in 1st Bundesliga without having to score a goal themselves... although I must stay that own goal by Heidenheim was very curious and weird...

The funny thing is, that the guy who shot the goal was a former Werder player  He was playing some years in the youth of Werder Bremen.
