That "one time wonder" team was as close to Bayern as 6 points at some point, they didn't finish the season strong so that made them lose out, but they could have done better job and win again, or at least could have been much closer this season. Just because Bayern Munich won this season doesn't mean that Leverkusen played badly, they are still second place and doing a good job and I have no doubt that it would be fine for them to get a win here as well.

In this case, we should not be considering how to grow further, it is very good that we are doing a good job but that doesn't mean we are going to see them change at all. If they can somehow keep Xabi then they are going to be a team that will fight for the top spot again and that type of consistency makes them strong but Xabi may leave to go to Real Madrid.

Expectations like that are obviously there at the beginning of the season but indeed from the beginning we realize that the superior conditions by beating the defending champions like last season is definitely not easy so I don't think I will expect more because the conditions remain the same where Bayern remains the biggest probability every season after that only Leverkusen and several other clubs.

Most people do care, it was a season after Bayer trashed everything and it looked for a while like Bayern had really not managed to get back their winning ways, and I'm too on the opinion they haven't regaind that much despite this win, it's just that the other teams are also playing really bad, Freiburg and Leipzig started like a rocket and went down just as one, Mainz was never going to say a word, Stuttgart is just a ghost nowadays, and Dortmund...well it's Dortmund.
