A cash prize to the one who finds anything more controversial from my past than the screencap with silver pot in my head (taken from our very own commercial video, which unfortunately went viral 4 years later than scheduled Wink ).

lol... actually it was quite funny....

Sex parties? Tell me more.

Demokrati: Två vargar och ett lamm röstar om lunchmenyn.      Democracy: Two wolfes and a lamb votes about the lunch menu.
Frihet: Ett väl beväpnat lamm opponerar sig mot omröstningen.  Freedom: A well armed lamb opposes the outcome.

Ask rpietila himself. I am not good in Finnish and I can't properly translate that article even using the Google translator.

From the article http://bitcoinexaminer.org/bitcoin-castle-born-estonia/ last paragraph:

Quote
While several members of the Bitcoin community are praising the project, several others are still reticent mainly because of the presence of Risto Pietila, a cryptocurrency entrepreneur with a very controversial past.

Anyone know what the author of the article is referring to here?

He sometimes take a walk on the wild side.

I'd like to see that as well. What do people have against you mister?

Are you currently putting all your money into bitcoin?  If you say this, you show you believe it by your actions.  I am putting all my money into bitcoin - I see a possibility of $50-$100+ per coin this year.  Just think, once the "bankers" and hedge funds find out about this, we are going to the moon.  Once my bitcoins are $1,000+ I will be able to pay off my growing college loans and maybe get an apartment, and my first car Smiley

Did you get an appartment? Smiley

Sex parties? Tell me more.

I used to DJ at a lot of these type parties.   They are called "lifestyle" parties, but they are pretty much swinger type events.  The majority of it is girl on girl action with the bfs and husbands watching, but there are often big orgies.

Believe it or not, most of the women are at least 8 out of 10s and there are quite a few 10s there as well.   You'd be surprised at some of the people that show up there...  I have met Superior Court Judges (who are there with women other than their wives), obviously adult industry women, and quite a few actors.

I can confirm that. It's the same here in Holland. The 'quality' of the club visitors depends on the club though ;-)

Sex parties? Tell me more.

Yellow press mixes truth with untruth, it is a common deception tactic and also sells well.

In this case it was true that we did not pay salaries (hey - few startups do when they are less than a year old, self-funded, and all employed have ownership).

So to this matter which is "shocking" to the general public but nevertheless true, an equally shocking, but false and defamatory assertion is added: and organizes sex parties.

This headline has no merit whatsoever, because the company in question or any other company that I have chaired, has never organized sex parties, I have not attended such, never even had sex with anyone else except my wife in 11 years, not even kissed any foreign woman.

If you hear that I have done these things or worse, in the past or in the future, just remember that there does not have to be any truth if a magazine wants to write something about you. Nada. Zilch. Only the sheep believe even as much as a word of the stories in yellow press.

The world is so corrupt that even in ordinary events, nearly always the official version is a gross lie.

Hey, I'm okay with sex parties, I don't consider them bad at all. To each his own.
So there will be no sex parties at the castle then  Embarrassed

OK. Thanks for the clarification on this issue. You should have at least filed a defamation suit against them.

I will not be organizing or attending any sex parties there. What the others do at their leisure, should conform with the hotel rules of course.

The "funny" thing with the yellow press is that they accuse people of doing something that is as far as possible from what they actually do and believe, to create the atmosphere of confusion which in the reader's mind gets attributed to the victim of the smear campaign.

Eg. All the media is smearing Vladimir Putin. Constantly the articles write about Putin thinking, scheming, and doing something irrational. When there is a chance for a sheep to actually hear something directly from Putin, and it is totally level-headed, rational and patient, it is dismissed as confusion, because what they already "know" is that Putin is a nutcase.

Why is it that all the millionaires, politicians, and public persons are "crazy"? Anyone thought that possibly the consumer of mass media is just receiving a daily fresh dose of urine to his eye which hinders seeing clearly?  Tongue

You should have at least filed a defamation suit against them.

I might have lost, because the paper published my "counterargument" in the following day from the bullshit article. The court would have considered that:
- the lying was not that bad (compared to everything else written on them, this is correct)
- it was corrected at the earliest opportunity (the following day).

Hmm... I can see that Iltalehti is one of the most popular dailies in Finland, with circulation in excess of 100,000 copes per day. Owned by the Alma Media group of companies. I hope that in near future when BTC hits the $10,000 mark, you will be able to do a hostile takeover of the media group and kick out Kai Telanne as the CEO (or better fire Selina Keranen, who wrote that article). Easier than filing a defamation suit.

You mean like Haikon Kartano is the premier country manor hotel in Finland, and because they humiliated me last spring, I bought a manor twice as big and am building a hotel more luxurious. My rooms are bigger and cost more, and my largest suite beats theirs 5:1 by floor area. Also my sauna will not be snooped by hotel staff in the middle of the night, my patrons will not be treated as criminals by the management when the only criminal is among the hotel employees, my patrons receive the services that they have been promised, can pay the bill upon leaving, and if they dole out tips worth 1/1,000,000 of the bitcoin supply of the world in 4 days, the recipients at least care to redeem them for cash. (I will notify perhaps when the sum of the tips exceeds $100,000)

No I am not buying them. I am waiting for them to apologize.

Definition of "we"?

At the time of the thread there was about 5 million non-Satoshi coins circulating. How many of them belong to the same owners still?

My guess is 2 million, max. Could be way less.

So out of the current non-Satoshi coincount of 11.6 million, only 5...20% belong to the same guys as the then wealthy elite.

The Bitcoin elite and/or the idea that owning even a modest amount of BTC will be worth a fortune (or the illusion of huge wealth) when the fiat currencies collapse.

ps.
Congrats on your mansion project, it looks like a great building.  Smiley

Well no need as I have a dedicated Bitcoin hotel only about 100km from them! Smiley

I meant the CEO of Haikko who personally made me feel very unwelcome. (WTF as if I did not tell beforehand - spent a week there before the summit(!) - that we only come to hotels where things work, with a very clear insistence of VIP service. If you can't deliver, how about not making a contract?!! Or at least understand that mistreatment is an offense that never expires.)

Media I did not even care but hospitality industry is something else. Sad.
