We can see now how times changed, Doncic came as a great talent, and they simply gave him the ball and told him to do whatever  he wants. No one expected that with Kukoc of course, as he came to the team with Jordan&Pippen, but as a huge Kukoc fan since 1989-1990 (I can't remember exactly) I really think that Bulls should have use him better.

True. If he is now in this timeline then he will be unstoppable for that height and that kind of shooting skill.
I have been thinking into which player he could be compared now but I cannot think of someone. He is really unique.

I watched this on this site

Woops, there's an angel here.
Those who cannot watch in Netflix could really use this.

The bad boys is a very very well known thing in the NBA, its one of the most dangerous times of basketball, if you check out youtube you can see many videos of them actually really hurting players, not just the way you saw on the show but actually injuring them.

They got penalties like crazy and flagrant fouls and many other stuff, probably never broken records, but they got the job done because even if you get a foul call, even if you get punished for like 5 games or 10 games, in the end you know that anyone who plays against you will have at the back of their head a feeling of not just full on attacking your rim and people didn't shoot threes back that days, sure some did but one player shoots more threes right now than entire league back then. So it was good, Pistons kinda made the same thing in 2004 as well, same logic and it worked again.

Have you guys watching "The Last Dance" series in Netflix?

I never thought that Pistons was deadly team way back 1989 with at 10% chance of winning when other teams faced them. More like a MAFIA way back then. Cheesy
I remember those days when most of the jersey merch that I saw were mostly Pistons. And that confirms that they were really good during the old times.

MJ proves that he really deserved what he became, the GOAT and will forever be the man. Remembering those early years when he still tracking his first world title. That era where the league still have Magic, Bird ,  Dr. J  and the team we called the bad boys, topping up from those names and grab the stardom from those known stars.
Nowadays, players are no longer in the same types of competitions it's all about the money that they will receive from the managements and commercials.

They wont be called bad boys if they arent like that.It do really involved too much physical contact but pistons that time is playing tough and
very good on defense and if you do compare on todays era of basketball then im pretty sure that old piston team will surely just eat
most teams on todays time. haha

Hard foul (physical one) turns out to what new era now the being soft foul of what we called Flapping. Pistons where the reason why the recent flagrant foul has been implemented. Cheesy

Flagrant foul should be really implemented. Pistons being called "bad boys" means they are aggressively fighting physically on offense and defense especially on the paint. It's fine to get hurt as long as it wasn't intentional as it was normal to have physical contact on the court. Yes, there are times that it looked intentional, and if these players are just intended to hurt a player every game, it destroys the whole game. So the implementation of flagrant foul is necessary.

We should blame the refs for today's soft era. Even a skin contact or a no contact at all is considered as foul. Therefore, why play hard on defense if that's the case.

And aside from that, outside shooting became trendy that even most of the big man does have a stroke of it. The reason why we only see a few dominant physical plays on the paint unlike before where having a big man is always a big deal in every team.

This memory is interesting about the beginnings of the legendary Michael Jordan. These guys were really tough and offensive. I found an article documenting the Timeline of Bulls and Bad Boys Pistons.
Pistons coach Chuck Daly devises a defensive strategy that he called The Jordan Rules. It is notorious that Jordan showed great superiority to earn the privilege of that the Pistons coach creates a rule adjusted to his style of play.

And aside from that, outside shooting became trendy that even most of the big man does have a stroke of it. The reason why we only see a few dominant physical plays on the paint unlike before where having a big man is always a big deal in every team.

Every team now has a lot of big man, that changes the style, teams tend to kill the offense in the inside so other teams are making an adjustment by getting outside shooter so they can get that advantage. That is why some team employs a small ball strategy as it's faster and it could make big man's presence less effective in the court.

There are people who cannot afford it but really want to watch how the Bulls did it.  Wink

Detroit Pistons the bad boys year 80's.
It's like MJ born at that year and Pistons wake up a monster.
Given that how the hell MJ survived how bad the pistons.

Hard foul (physical one) turns out to what new era now the being soft foul of what we called Flapping. Pistons where the reason why the recent flagrant foul has been implemented. Cheesy
It's "flop" Sir.
It is the new kind of acting now. They might add it into Hollywood.
Best actor doing flops is James Harden.  Grin

It's difficult to compare the 80's-90's against this era. Because of the changes in rules and also they are trying to follow how people will be entertained.
I still prefer the hard defense. I am kind of a fan of a defensive team.
GSW may look like an offensive team with Curry and Thompson at their championship games. But when you look deep at how difficult the switching is, you will know how hardcore their defense is.

I never thought that Pistons was deadly team way back 1989 with at 10% chance of winning when other teams faced them. More like a MAFIA way back then. Cheesy
I wouldn't say that they were outsiders with low chances of winning back in 1989. Prior to that, in 1987 they reached Eastern Conference title and were defeated by Celtics 3:4, and Celtics were champions at that moment. Next season, 1987/1988 they reached NBA final, and lost in 7 games against Lakers, who at that time had both Magic and  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  They were a quality team, getting better each year before they eventually won the first title, and then defended it.

I remember those days when most of the jersey merch that I saw were mostly Pistons. And that confirms that they were really good during the old times.

Exactly this, people tend to forget that since they were focused on three points shooting. Other teams started copying GSW, adding shooters and chugging those threes, but in order for that to work, you have to have quality defense, and proper kind of support players, like Draymond Green. Same thing Bulls had in Rodman, who had same capability, to defend all 5 positions.

The bad boys is a very very well known thing in the NBA, its one of the most dangerous times of basketball, if you check out youtube you can see many videos of them actually really hurting players, not just the way you saw on the show but actually injuring them.

They wont be called bad boys if they arent like that.It do really involved too much physical contact but pistons that time is playing tough and
very good on defense and if you do compare on todays era of basketball then im pretty sure that old piston team will surely just eat
most teams on todays time. haha

NBA Says Teams Can Reopen Practice Facilities In Early May, If Local Rules Allow

Yes!
Green is the heart of their defense.
When I saw everything in slow motion, I realized it was that difficult switching Curry to another player like Thompson when defending offensive players.
One example that I saw was Harden getting a screen to force Curry to defend him.
Then, you will see hand signs which is a cue for another switch.
For me, that is just impossible since you will give up seconds of switching which could be an opportunity for Harden to shoot..

As I saw how clear it is, I became a fan of those guys. Those cannot be perfected without brutal practice and chemistry.

Thompson is a great defender as well. Like back then in finals between Cavs and GSW it is Thompson who used to defend Kyrie, and you'll see Kyrie got a hard time somehow. When it comes to offense, indeed GSW as a whole keeps on going around specially the splash brothers, their big mans knows when to give a screen in order for two to have a clear path on shooting in 3 pt line. Reminds me of the breakdown video of their offense, forgot what it is called, it is... something like Elevator Doors. It is like, man nobody could even get close to Curry behind the line. And them as a whole they prioritizes passing rather than having a single man making play alone. That's why they are so great even KD haven't been recruited yet. Anyway don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of GSW.

Warriors have been very consistent, even with the line up now (without KD), I still believe they will get into the NBA Finals.
Honestly, I can't wait to see a healthy warriors playing again, and i think the pandemic gives them more time to recover, especially Thompson.

As long as they are being allowed base to the situation of their state, it's good that they can now finally have their practice. Well, we might see most of the content soon and it's going to be about their practices.

TBH, I really like to see them play soon, so that news that they are allowed to practice does not really touch my excitement.
NBA has been off for over a month already, maybe it's time for them to come back soon, practicing now but no clear estimate on where they will resume is just useless IMO, sorry for the word.

Although it brings me a little excitement but still I'm worried about their health and this is so bad to see if they risk their lives playing on dangerous situation. There's million case now in the US and they should take this since their money will be useless if they got infected.

But let see the next updated on what will happen be the verdict of the officials.
