No offense but comparing this coin to GAME is ridiculous. GAME is much farther ahead of EGC. Funny how most folks here on btt focus primarely on price rather than innovation. Evergreencoin has active devs but there is still no utility. Correct me if I'm wrong but right now it's just like any other PoS coin.

True, GAME does appear to have a robust ecosystem and is farther ahead in that regard, as you state. However; upon review of their thread, I am finding a lot of broken links so one would question how maintained the project is. Vital links; such as wallets (android) and block explorer to name two, though I suspect I could find more. Perhaps also the allure of gaming is one the present crypto audience finds more attractive and arguably an easier niche to gain support, involvement, and even funding in. It is scrypt algo also. But, again, it does appear to be robust and mature, hats off to the devs and community. I wish them luck, but I am not a gamer myself. Though I will see if my scrypt asic can turn a quick GAME-buck this day, once their wallet compiles.

Yes, sometimes I feel price is the only yardstick a lot measure with. We all know, and have seen even with EGC to some degree, how fast that can change. With that in mind, maybe we give it more weight then in deserves. But perhaps the present crypto audience, with all due respect, has some tunnel vision in that regard. That said, I too am guilty of dreaming I will sell a few million dollar pizzas some day.

Correct, no present real world utility as of yet. The strato EGC and some un-developed similar arrangements are efforts to drive some demand. But as you know, these are just drops in the demand-bucket that a payment processing gateway could quicker fill. An important thing to note is EGC has come this far, and certainly will go farther, without having the luxury of simply being able to buy their way to such services. If our past persistence is any indicator, we will get there with or without the shortcuts.

I'm getting up to 5 connections at first, but after 15 minutes it's back to zero.

Yes. Close the wallet. Replace the peers.dat in the data directory with this one: http://evergreencoin.org/peers.dat
Relaunch the wallet and allow it to run its course.

I replaced the peers.dat file but it still did not connect. After a reinstallation of the wallet and putting your peers.dat file in the directory, I'm now connected and staking again. Let's hope it keeps doing that.

No offense taken. Valid point you've made and largely you are right. My reasoning for posting figures or variables 'this simple' was because of a phenomenon in life called,, "irrational exuberance".

It is not uncommon for people to invest their time, energy or money in something for emotional reasons or based on assumption or minimal information far less than the logic and commonsense thinking you correctly describe.

GAME actually saved my Bitcoin holdings after I lost heavily on Vericoin.

However, speaking to everybody now... GREEN & CLEAN is IN, and with just a few online marketing tweaks, time for some investors to find EGC is stable again, and or a new EGC-crypto development project or feature could easily see it pumped to GAME value.

Irrational pumps happen on exchanges all the time. But like you said, there are also a lot of savvy investors who are both crypto informed and won't invest until certain criteria are met.

In short the Opportunity for any crypto investor now is simply this:

So long as EGC is stable and supported as a medium of exchange, the PRICE is SO LOW that there is simply too much headroom for the price and value to be pumped again.

I've seen so many re-pumped coins that I thought were pumped and dumped.

The prerequisite for defining a coin is NOT DEAD, is an operating blockchain and either developer support or community interest/support to resurrect it from the dead.

This is where I quietly chuckle to myself every time a friend or colleague or family member tells me Bitcoin is dead, will not last etc.

Coming from a background in Linux and open source, I know that Bitcoin or rather open source crypto software is essentially not stoppable because all it takes is a developer to pick up the source code and start playing with it again.

And if they succeed in getting it working and promote it, that dead coin or software is now live on the World Wide Web.

EGC (www.evergreencoin.org) project is still very much alive!

I just did some quick math and made some estimations. Looks like total PoW supply will be just over 13 million. 13019651.33... is the figure I came up with.
