Hi there, been holding some coins for sometime on an exchange now. didn't know about staking. is all I have to do is move the coins to the wallet and it will start staking? does my computer need to be online the whole time?

if theres any information i should read please point me in the right direction. thanks and congratulations on the price increase so far Smiley
Your wallet needs to be online and unlocked for at least a couple of hours every 30 days.

But by keeping it online you are also helping the network.

I does take 24 hours from you get your coins untill you start staking.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I think it would be very unlikely as PoS is better for the environment. Also PoW wouldnt work very well with the upcomming solar miner/staker.

My apologies for the lack of communication today, EGC community. We are getting a week or more of heavy rain and I had some agricultural obligations I needed to preform before that rain started...

Fertilize the fields of corn...

Get a tractor fixed (in the distance, circled in red) and out of the soybean field before it sinks from the many inches of rain coming...

I took a picture of the soybean pods forming for the EGC community also...

Also, I had to mow grass at two farms. I did not take pictures of that.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I see I have missed many communications. Sorry, I did not intend to ignore anyone. I am catching up now, while the buckets of rain start to fall... I will sleep well tonight! Well, depending on how excited I get when I look at today's market data. Wink

hanken, sorry to say, no PoW has ended and making an additional PoW phase would require a hard fork. I do not wish to increase the supply or go through another hard fork. Many investors have explicitly said they like, in fact love, the present supply. I understand many people, just learning of EGC because all the recent attention, are disappointed PoW is over. But, it is over.

Kazadar, exactly. PoS is much better for the environment. Actually, the solar staker could still stake if there was an additional PoW added, as I would run PoW and PoS side-by-side, like we had for the first PoW phase. But, again and for the reasons already stated, EGC will not be hard forking for the addition of another PoW phase.

Also, X15 ASICs have emerged. We were fortunate to not have ASICs invade our PoW. I wish to keep it that way and I certainly don't want to set everything on hold now for a PoW phase fork and an algo fork.

Sorry if this disappoints people but, I view it as extremely unfavorable for many reasons.

Btw.. i came across this one while browsing for tiny machines.

Will it have enough cpu power to stake?

http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/mini-solar-powered-linux-pc/

These guys also has some cool projects. But costly.

Cool with a waterproof one.

https://store.spartonre.com/littlepcs/fanless-mini-pcs/wpc-525f-rugged-fanless-waterproof-pc/

I do fully intend to make the solar miner waterproof. I want people to be able to set it in their flower bed or garden, so long as it is in range of wi-fi, and leave it there. "Just add sunshine"

But this waterproofing will come from the custom fabricated/molded enclosure. I strongly believe I can get that made at a far lesser costs locally. I do live in what is often times refereed to as the rust-belt because of the number of industrial business. As previously stated, I have already been in contact with the businesses I intend to use. Once this is out of design phase, the production phase will move much faster. I am still waiting on my CHIP but glad Gabi is available now and, of course, very glad for all the knowledgeable community members and their eagerness to help move this along.

Your help is valued and greatly appreciated. Thank you!

p.s. Gabi, from a different post, I will need more precise info than "10 amp-ish" for the parts list. Wink

I have a friend who owns a cannabis business in the state of Oregon. He needs a way to legally use a crypto instead of dealing in all that cash. Banks are not allowed to give any cannabis  business a account because of federal laws. He has to pay all his bills through western union.

This is a major problem from the farmer, distributors and the dispensaries.

He doesnt want to use btc because of the swings.

Does 1.5 million/month in sales

Any help?

Thanks

Yes, I am very aware of the blackout traditional banking has against cannabis. It is really unjust.

Honestly, the only way you can eliminate the swings, is convert the crypto at purchase to fiat. There are services, such as coinpayments.net, that will do this. We do hope and plan to have EGC added to coinpayments.net in the very near future. EGC and EGCC would be honored to have your cannabis business use and accept EGC.

Sadly, no. The seed cost for non GMO is out of this world. There is no way we could afford it. I don't even think we could easily get 50 acres of non GMO seed, if we were rich enough to afford it. This of course, all by design I believe.

It could be in the future, but currently market shows downward correction first. Remeber that such growth is not exactly healthy so the downward trend is good for longterm perspective.

Of course it is by design of shameless corporations and greed. They want the whole world to use seeds and plants that are not able to reproduce (even greater crime against nature) so they could sell seeds each year.

Don't want too sound harsh, but this is completely against your vision of EGC and what you are trying to establish with it.

GMO in food production could be viewed as far greater concern to our nature and ourselves as non-renewable energy, although this is also very important aspect of healthy living. Main objective for GMO produce is, that it is full of pesticides and herbicides already from the seeds onwards. The main reason for GMO producing is the plants are resistant to pesticides and herbicides and can be sprayed with that shit that is causing huge health problems to humans and animals and again humans eating them. I know in USA over 90% of soy is GMO, but you should realize it can be done, if there is will. Maybe it's time to sell some EGC and try to do something in that perspective for next season ;-) You could then again use your own seeds for seeding. Studies show by GMO farming soil is loosing humus and is slowly becoming sort of a desert. On the long run GMO farming will be less efficient than non-GMO and quantity will start to fall, not even mentioning the quality, this could never be compared.

It really is a shame great chemical corporations (Monsanto, Dupont) are ruling US government and causing all this hell. Since every little bit counts, you should really start looking into this option of producing GMO free produce, believe me, it's still possible. Some people are doing it and this could also be a great market opportunity for you.

This is not bashing, as you really are an honest guy (and I salute you for that), but all this EGC thing sounds quite hypocritical, if I view it from that perspective.

WOW EGC market DOWN 50% on bittrex

From the way it shot up yesterday I'm not surprised. Hopefully it'll start to flatten out and we'll see what it's real value is. That is until some of the planned projects come to fruition and we will hopefully see more sensible increases in value.

Exactly. Yesterday was just a p&d that showed me how big EGC can become if treated well.
