http://burstcoin.biz is a great resource for the community, but it's going off-line almost every single day.  Roll Eyes

Could we together offer the owner (?) a more stable host (CF) for the site...? Or could the site even be part of the burst-team.us hosting arrangement?

I would be glad to take over the hosting of the site, and also remove all the nonsense they have added that slowed the site down considerably. But... on the plus side, we're having another blockex designed as well.

You mean you are developing a new one, replacing the broken block.burstcoin.info?  Huh

I must say that BURST feels very different now than just 6 months ago, like money isn't stopping the development. Has an angel visited the BURST HQs?  Cheesy

Perhaps with so much going on amongst devs, some kind of roadmap would be appreciated by possible investors? We as owners don't have so much info on plans and what's coming. On the other side, I like the low price when buying.  Grin

BTW, I got access to Karl Perkin's old BURST tweets on undervaluation that ended prematurely for some reason, and I will be posting the still relevant tweets shortly. Thanks Karl!

We have updated the OP with a newly designed version. More to come. I'll be back shortly.

edit - Noticed some hosting issues with images, taking it down until we can move it to one of our servers.

Shoudn't be any different than plotting/mining any other drive, map a network drive then follow normal tutorials. Not sure if the GUI will use net drives I've never tried. If you need help doing it manually I'm sure you can find things on forum.burstcoin.info, there will be a lot more how to type stuff coming out shortly, we're building from the ground up.

Thanks, but I mean a guide (I think t was on burstcoin.de) that explained how to mine direct on a NAS.

So that you can use your NAS (mining) without using another machine.

Amongst my SATA & USB drives I also have a NAS drive it is allocated a drive letter just like the other drives which is put into the drive list in the configuration file and mines in exactly the same way, except that it is a little slower.

You're correct. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg10639156#msg10639156

Perhaps ask boba or kurairaito. However, it's not very hard to do, given you run some kind of linux distro. I used to do it on a qnap with dcct's tools, I'd just follow his instruction and the software are great.

Mapping the NAS was incredibly slow so this was a nice solution for me.

-[ANN]- Working on new OP

edit - NEW OP IS UP!

I am aware of a couple small issues that I'm having taken care of, namely under the 'mining and plotting' section.

But it is okay, we're on it!

1 more small issue left. Some advice for now... a great time to BUY. Some neat things on the horizon... and also... here's some neat stuff too!

Well, it seems no matter what I try bitcointalk refuses to load all of the images every time on the OP...

Let me know if anyone else has this issue... I think I'm going to have the amount of images lowered. No way around it I can see. Sucks though I really liked it with all the images when they loaded correctly.

Well, it seems no matter what I try bitcointalk refuses to load all of the images every time on the OP...

Let me know if anyone else has this issue... I think I'm going to have the amount of images lowered. No way around it I can see. Sucks though I really liked it with all the images when they loaded correctly.
don't loads all of the images (randomly)

Relax, I’m russian!...

hi everyone

just wanted to confess i added BURST to my portfolio

so far i like what i see

i just would love to see a hybrid POW/POS concept like we have it in DMD

this normally create lot less block time fluctuation (because using different adjustments)
and remove lot coins from circulation because people love to harvest

br

ur friendly diamond man

Nice to hear you are in Smiley

Everybody has their opinion, but would PoS/PoC be implemented I'm out of BURST and would write long letters to crowe and the team to create a non-PoS fork of BURST  Tongue

Would it not be possible to merge pics off-line to get fewer to upload and get the intended result...?

BTW, are you going to lower the deadline on ninja to a day or so, or has the pool issue become less of a problem?

Thanks, but I mean a guide (I think t was on burstcoin.de) that explained how to mine direct on a NAS.

So that you can use your NAS (mining) without using another machine.

Thank you!

I´ll see if I can get it from one of these guys.

As you say, a mapped drive to the NAS is very slow (~6MB/s for me).

everyone has their opinion  Grin

from power saving point of view POC and POS might be equal
but impact on economy is very different

any mining that is unrelated to amount of coins u hold is
supporting sellpressure

any coinrollout based on POS is supporting hoarding
remove coins from circulation
and increase value of the few rare coins traded at exchange
additional POS is rewarding to have a node active and this way support the network

i am out is a harsh answer

i think if u love POC that much
u could state i want majority of coinrollout stay on POC (like 75%)
but to be total against it even if so much positive aspects as listed above

why?

Yes my NAS Drive is very slow compared to USB. 6TB takes 35 seconds to run through

Gold mining is unrelated to the amount of gold you hold. I don't see sell pressure for gold.

Hoarding is actually bad for a currency. If you want POS, you can hold Dollar or whatever fiat currency out there and gain the interest.

We have 1482 active nodes, I think we are fine.

A system that rewards those that have huge amounts of coins is bad; it's bad because we WANT circulation and volume at the exchanges, it's bad cuz we don't want to be a bagholders paradise.

We want value increasement of the currency due to development of new features and just not just for sitting still, we want USAGE of coins (as investments in crowdfunded projects driving the development further). We do not want investors to calculate how many percent you might miss if you actually support development with your money.

We want to be at the edge of development. Over and over again. PoS lack the incentive for that.

I don't remember if DMD had an IPO for (let's call it) "development", but if they/you had it's just so bad. You are collecting people's funds based on ideas alone, not on results. The reason that new features get funded in BURST is not speculation; we know, e.g., our AT-dev and happily award him coins for the work we know he is willing to do and complete.

PoS has one advantage: it's even more power saving than PoC, +20 percent if I recall it correctly, but that's about it. The PoC network is secured by miners just like PoW, and that's a great thing as the devs always need to keep mining interesting with the possibility of value increasements due to invention - not due to a damn algorithm. In the case of BURST, we are just in a period of such invention and increasing value is ahead to those who both buy and mine (after a period without a maindev).

Sorry for using "we" here, I am not part of the Dev Team but the "we" come pretty naturally with such tight community and soon two years of involvement one way or the other.

DMD started also with zero premine same as BURST

its good to see people here are with hearth blood defending their coin

but im not attacking

i posted my opinion u posted ur opinion

topic still open for other voices

i did a fast calculation buy hdd capacity never beats buy coins on exchange
so mining with POC is paradise for people who have access to shitload unused storage

IT admins of companies
owner of IT parts shops

who for real can see if the new HDD u bought didnt spend a few month mining POC
before u bought it....

all i wana say is the world is not fair always some kind of people have advantage
and in my opinion who spend money into buy coin should have advantage
and not because of some other reasons
