I think that's been discussed in 2022 and officially this season Dorna banned that.

The use of any device that changes or adjusts the height of the front ride of a motorcycle while it is moving is prohibited.

The technical director said it should only be done at the start of the race, otherwise it's called a holeshot. It looks like this will hurt Ducati a bit as they are very enthusiastic about developing ride-height technology.

I think there is absolutely no pressure on Ferrari engineers considering they are basically not expected to be good anyway lol. Ferrari is known to be a team that has so much potential, so much money and then keeps making mistakes all the time to cause a loss. They had a very close chance with Vettel once, but luck would have it and they lost, and then last year wasn't that close but they had so much disappointment as well and many mistakes too.

This can also serve as an advantage for Ferrari in one way.I agree that the pressure is all on Redbull first as they need to deliver again to win a third title and that is not such an easy task despite they have done it many years ago when they won 4 F1 Championships in the Vettel era,the first era of Redbull success.Then we have Mercedes as second in line for pressure as they improved themselves a lot during the last races of the last season and they even manage to win a race with Russell which now they will want to build up on that and fight for the title.Ferrari is the least worried about what will deliver and also their engineers,their focus is to improve and tune the car to perfection.

One team everyone has forgot though is McLaren,this is not because I am a fan of them but because they are the team that have started this year car development the earlier compared to all other teams so who knows what they can add to the table this season.

This VF23 was really beautiful, which is how the new body model was called. It has a very innovative design bringing black as its main color in most of the car.

Yeah that has been known for a while and talked about a few pages back, but there is still a question about it. Every single year Ferrari team comes out and says something that makes the fans go "this is the year!!" and then it turns out that they are still not that great.

Well, this is a common thing for all the teams, no?

I've never seen a team saying on tv "our car sucks and next year will be slower by 1-second"  

That's because they don't want any added pressure on their shoulders.  Imagine telling everybody and confirming the rumor that your engines did have an increase of 30 hp then ending up losing every week vs Verstappen and Red Bull...  Lol.

And if anything, these rumors could have been invented and being spread by top rivals like Red Bull and Mercedes to play with Ferrari engineers' minds and put pressure on them.

I agree that Ferrari should start the 2023 season by telling their fans that they will be fighting to win every race and not that we are going to win the Championship,by saying so they mean that they will give their 100% in every race during this season and as such the fans will watch hopeful but not with high hopes as in 2022 Ferrari took the pressure to themselves by winning the first couple of races and as such claiming they are going to win the 2022 season which in the end did not end well for Ferrari and their fans.

As for the engineers and other technical staff I assume they have learned a lot from the errors of 2022 so most likely they won't be screwing up with their race strategy anymore.

@swogerino I too remember posting here quite often that the 2022 season will be the year of Ferrari because of all the updates that they’re getting, however in the end I was totally disappointed to see such poor results. Also for the new season I agree that Ferrari should not make any statements, rather they should now start winning races and let the results talk for themselves.

We can only answer the question about the Haas performance only after seeing some preliminary tests which by the way for this season will be very limited in time,as far as I know only 2-3 days in total and even after these preliminary tests I would say to be cautious as most teams do not show their true potential during such tests.

From the design perspective looks a much better design the Haas car this year but we have to see how it will behave on track,if I remember correctly Haas had some really great moments and even won a pole position for a sprint race or something along those lines,they should look to improve further as any other team.

Mick Schumacher will be McLaren's reserve driver for the new season. I wish he could join a team and compete in all races. He had a good experience last season. After racing for two seasons, he is now down to reserve driver position.

Two days ago I watched the official WSBK test in Portimao Portugal where on the first day @michaelrinaldi21 became the fastest with a record time of 1:39.639 seconds followed by Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista respectively in second and third place. Also on that first day @remygardner also became the fastest rookie, why do I say rookie. Because last season he was in MotoGP, but for this season he became a rookie in WSBK.

Most constructors will surely crank up the numbers that their machine can produce that still meets the regulation. Just by looking at the sleek body of this car, you can tell that Haas has somewhat touched the aerodynamic side of things and not just changed its color due to its new primary sponsor. Hopefully we can get a sneak peek of its performance during testing, which is a good 3 weeks from now (Feb 23 - 25)

I honestly can't imagine that Haas has made a big leap in performance, why should they? Haas has a very low budget and is very dependent on the Ferrari powertrain anyway, and I don't think they can do that much in the wind tunnel, it will be back to the back of the grid in the new season.

It looks like it will be a competitive car and it will be quite difficult for competitors like Ferrari or Mercedes to be able to compete with this car. They still have Adrian Newey one of the McLaren architect for Hamilton title in 2008 and also before he was considered in F1 as one of the greatest and smartest aerodynamics engineer so I am not surprised if the design looks awesome and everything should be true about this car being competitive.

However I don't think we can talk before seeing the Mercedes and Ferrari cars how they will look that they will have difficulties to beat Redbull,all the teams have started the development of 2023 season early in 2022 and as such I expect better competition for this season but of course Redbull still is the team to beat.

Sure I think 40% is unreasonable. Almost half of the income. Though I just found out that India is also just going to hold this big event. If I'm not mistaken, WSBK has also cancelled the race there. But it should make more sense for the Indian government to collect taxes. Maybe they need to discuss to make a win-win decision.

Considering they have been better last year compared to previous years, and they now have 2 great drivers instead of 2 rookie drivers like they used to have, that means they are going to be better. Between hulkenberg and magnussen, they will definitely be better this year, on top of that they will have the ferrari engine, but we do not know if ferrari added that horse power and helped haas get that too, or did they just fixed it themselves and not tell haas what the issue was, in any case, haas engineers will see it and will probably figure it out eventually anyway.

This is why I think we are getting pretty close to consider Haas being middle of the pack type of team compared to being at the very bottom.
