In the US they have been using E85 in Indycar.

I think more hybrid is a given, 4*4 will be common for electric sports car, but I'm not convinced for F1. I guess the idea is that since braking is done mostly on the front axle, to make more electricity you need regenerative braking on the front axle.

Thets correct Indy cars use E85 (85% Ethanol) at 2.2-liter twin-turbo V6, next session Indy car will upgrade to 2.4 liter 900hp and hybrid system. I hope for oldschool V8 but the time (sooo sorry) is over.

Honda can certainly take a lot of experience from Formula 1 with it, the advantage is that the engines are probably a lot cheaper than in Formula 1.

I thought Ferrari had the new turbo configuration (copied on Mercedes) but I just realized it's for next year. Same for Renault/Alpine. However Honda already has it.

That's why after next year engines will be frozen, when they have all caught up.

With James Allinson stepping down from Mercedes, I can see the team going into a decline for this season as there is simply not replacement for this guy when it comes to Mercedes. Please remember that when he left Maranelo, Ferrari started to have a big decline on both performance and stability and we all know they are still struggle to this day.

Is there a replacement for Allison ? None that I'm aware of.

The MotoGP team landed to Indonesia to see work process on the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, Indonesia. According to the post on Facebook, Indonesia is likely to host this event in 2022. Hopefully everything will go as the plan, even though I can't watch it live there, of course this will bring pride to all Indonesians.

Another rumor for F1.

We are going to have a salary cap for drivers fixed at 30m $ for BOTH drivers for each team from 2022.

This will be a big problem for Hamilton since his salary is 40m$. Bottas' salary is around 10m $.

So the maximum salary possible for Hamilton will be 30-10=20m $.

I personally think he wants to try the new F1, he is not so old he can be in F1 for 5 more years and be competitive if he wants.

I think Mercedes next year will take Russell over Bottas if Hamilton wants to continue otherwise they will go with Bottas and Russell.

Yeah, the plus one is his option to continue in F1 or not. And if he wins his 8th title this season, I think it's quite likely that he could end his career. Red Bull seems faster than Mercedes now and I'd be very happy to see a great rivalry between Verstappen and Hamilton. And Verstappen to win the title at the end.  Grin

If Bottas continues to fall short of the mark this season too, we will probably see Russell taking his seat or Hamilton's if he leaves F1.

Very happy with this progress, I hope the contractors are able to complete it according to target. Even though one Mandalika country is too far from my area, it takes quite a lot of money to get there. Maybe one day I still want to see in person, if I'm not mistaken they have made a 5 year contract with Dorna. I hope the contract continues. 

In addition, Mandalika itself has a team that appears in Moto2, the Mandalika Racing Team. They have 2 racers Bendsneyder and Thomas Luthi. Bendsneyder performed quite well finishing no.9 in Qatar and 12 in Doha. Thomas Luthi finished number 15 in Qatar and in Doha failed to finish. Pretty good feat for a new team.

There are only 20 F1 driver seats. I don't see the point of salary caps. Keep salaries out of the spending caps. Sure, the best teams will be the only ones able to afford the best drivers, but the best drivers go to the best teams regardless, it doesn't change anything for poorer teams.

There are only 20 F1 driver seats. I don't see the point of salary caps. Keep salaries out of the spending caps. Sure, the best teams will be the only ones able to afford the best drivers, but the best drivers go to the best teams regardless, it doesn't change anything for poorer teams.

Well this to me cannot be a solution.
Remember the purpose of these caps is to get new teams in F1, Audi and Porsche are close to coming back in F1.

If they decrease the cap those team can start their investment. There was no point for them till the last year coming in F1 spending 200m € and haveing a huge technical disadvantage for years.

Now it will be easier to start with a new team. Let's see if they will come as they said Porsche is very close.

If you cap the rest then it should be good enough, there will always be good drivers willing to drive an F1 for little money, in fact today how many drivers actually pay (directly or indirectly) to drive rather than being paid ?

It is always great to see him racing in F1 somehow.   Smiley  He is doing a nice job when he is given the chance. So, I wonder how none of the teams wanted him for this season as the main or the second driver.

The MotoGP team landed to Indonesia to see work process on the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, Indonesia. According to the post on Facebook, Indonesia is likely to host this event in 2022. Hopefully everything will go as the plan, even though I can't watch it live there, of course this will bring pride to all Indonesians.

I think they will be used this year. It's a shame even though I'm really looking forward to this year's mandalika. It seems that Dorna does not want to take risks, because development progress is still long. Apart from that, I also heard that the UN is focusing on acquiring land belonging to residents. The UN is concerned about human rights violations against the surrounding community. Such as confiscation, intimidation and threats to release their land. I hope that the problems highlighted by the United Nations do not occur.

The father of Stoll always bought teams in minor categories too.
He is so rich, according to Wikipedia he had in 2019 2.6 billion $.

Anyway even Alonso back in years was in Ferrari If I can remember correctly because his sponsor was paying 25m € to Ferrari.
