I feel like put Alonso and Vetten in Mercedes next year and they will be winning a championship too, it is a bit more about the car as well. HamVerRuss this is the new trio if you ask me.

Alonso maybe, Vettel no. There was a season recently where Vettel's Ferrari was faster than Hamilton's Merc, and Hamilton still beat him.

And I still think Russell is being over-hyped a bit. He came in when Hamilton was unavailable, and he did a better job than Bottas. But 'better than Bottas' is a target that quite a few drivers could beat. We'll see, I suppose. Russell is good, yes, but I don't think he's a challenge to Hamilton yet.

TBH if Hamilton was driving one of those things at a night race, and Verstappen crashed into the back of him, even I might believe the excuse of "It was an accident! I didn't see him!".
Looks good, though. They really are a very different shape to the 2021 cars.

It will be a pleasure to the eyes if Ferrari can join Merc and Red Bull to compete for the first place. 6 drivers competing for edge to edge will be a pleasure to watch for sure.
This new season looks quite promising in my eyes. Although Leclerc is not on the same level as Hamilton or Max, but it sure will be a great competition if Ferrari's upgrade is right on point. Eager to see the next race.

My favourite for next season is definitely Bagnaia and Ducati, I'm looking forward to the first races to see which manufacturer has worked best over the winter.

It feels like a long time waiting for the new MotoGP season. I don't read much news about the development with the factory bike. But I think tomorrow Ducati could be a big threat to the defending champions. Ducati just provides a setting that suits the rider. I'm sure they're confident for next season. They have good motorcycle capital and 3 consistent riders in the top five of the championship class. For Yamaha it could be that they will lose to Ducati if they don't make improvements in the engine, as you said.

Russell is better than Bottas no cap and I agree as you said that Russell is still no match to Hamilton,
but I think that there will surely be a time when Russell will challenge Hamilton for being the main man in Mercedes.

Yes, the time hasn't come yet, but I think Russell has the potential to challenge Hamilton at one point or another. It will be great to watch these two competing to be the best driver in Mercedes.

Some time ago at an official test I read that Fabio was complaining that not much was happening with the development, especially the engine is still at the same level as last year. Ducati had made a huge step in the last few years with the chassis, the engine was very strong in the last few years, only the handling was difficult.

I do not think that Ferrari car that year was faster than Mercedes, they were certainly A LOT better than what they were this year, but it feels like it was another Red Bull vs Mercedes situation, the engine was cool but they were like maybe fraction of a second slower from what I can see. They were certainly close enough though, I mean looking at this season I feel like Red Bull was slower as well, especially in the straights as well, but Max still managed to win, which shows us that it doesn't matter if we are talking about which car is better when there is such a tiny difference and that is why I understand the Vettel situation.

However this is a 4 time champion guy we are talking about, give him the best car on the track and he will definitely get you that championship. That's the thing about big teams, they could get the best driver, and build the best car, so it is becoming a bit more one team sport, or few teams at the most. Do we really think anyone aside from red bull, mercedes, ferrari or mclaren have even ANY chance? Even in that 4, only 2 have a proper chance.

According to Domenicali who probably knows better the situation of every team spoken and he said nothing and a lot on the same way.

Basically, he said that we can have a new "BrawnGP case" since 2 teams are going in a different direction than others and it could be an advantage.

Russell has the potential to be one of the best. He is still young and with Hamilton nearing his retirement, he will be challenged by Russell for sure.

As you said, I won't be even surprised if Hamilton gets tough competition from Russell starting this year. And with the young blood he has, after Hamilton starts to fade away maybe after a year or two, Russell for sure will be the main man of Mercedes.

Valentino Rossi has retired from MotoGP, but he leaves a record that is hard to beat. So, apart from The Doctor, who is on the list of 10 racers with the most races in the premier class?

During his 26-year career in motorcycle racing world championships, 22 of which were in the premier class, Valentino Rossi missed only seven races due to injury.

Until the end of the 2021 season, The Doctor was the only rider to compete in every season since the championship switched from two-stroke to four-stroke engines.

During the MotoGP era, coupled with his initial two seasons at the end of the 500cc category, Rossi has participated in a total of 372 races.

The record of winning nine motorcycle racing world championship titles as the racer with the most races is certainly difficult to break in the medium term.

Being right behind Rossi or second place is now occupied by Alex Barros who has retired. The Brazilian racer recorded 245 races.

However, his position may still be broken by Yamaha rider Andrea Dovizioso. Barros is only 11 races ahead of the three-time runner-up. Dovi will still play 21 Grand Prix (GP) next year.

Except when he doesn't. His four titles came in that ridiculously dominant Red Bull. If you give him a car that is vastly better than any other car, and a weak team-mate, then yes, he will get you that championship.
But as 2018 showed, put him in a car that is only marginally better than the competition, and he will buckle and throw away the title.

I think he's over-rated. I think if everyone was in the same car, it would be Lewis and Max out way ahead of the rest. Alonso is a bit of an unknown quantity until he gets a good car, he might be up there with them. Everyone else would be way back.

Good one . But this dark photo don't show how Mercedes will look in new season. In reports it was already said that Mercedes will switch back to their original silver livery.

Don't know about you guys but I'm still upset about Abu Dhabi. It's fortunate that the FIA/Masi is at fault and not RBR/Verstappen or I would have trouble continuing to watch. Clearly the FIA/Masi know they screwed up and won't do that again.

^  Yeah me too.  But if he really is, that’s maybe because he has one of the toughest competitive drivers, driving the fastest car in the grid as his main rival now.  His own team mate George Russell.  Hamilton prolly isn’t motivated enough to go have one of his toughest seasons yet.  And it’s prolly gonna be tougher than the season when Nico Rosberg won the championship.

So yeah...  Not money but motivation is gonna be a key factor here.

And sad day if he really retires.  What would next season be without anybody to root against?  Lolol.

I think the fact that his main rival will be his teammate is the key to get him motivated.He saw when he was with Covid 19 last year that during the race that Russell replaced him for a race he did a brilliant job and he drove extremely well and Hamilton I am sure has seen that race.Of course it will be much different now as Russell is not going to be just like Bottas a mediocre driver which has been all the time at Mercedes just the wing man of Hamilton.Now things will get tough and it is when things get tough that the tough guys come to play.I predict a really beautiful season of F1 during this year in 2022.

I don’t think so.  Especially if we consider how it would be a tougher season for Hamilton next year and how he lost the driver’s championship the season prior.  From what it looked like, I think he felt that politics was at play.  And from Mercedes’ press releases it seemed like there was a time there when Hamilton did consider retiring.  Judging from all that, it doesn’t look like he’s motivated right now.  

But we still have a couple of months before the next season.  I guess we’ll see what state his mind set is in during testing.

Carlos Sainz who has his contract expiring at the end of this season is now rumored for an extension of his contract maybe even before the start of the new season.

For sure I think it is deserved he did great for his 1st year.

Yes, I'm still not happy with it. I don't see how anyone can be happy with it, really. Even Verstappen, who for many people isn't really the world champion, as it was given to him instead of him winning it.

It does cast a long shadow over the 2022 season, if everyone knows that the officials can ignore the rules whenever they feel like it generates more entertainment... when the fairness is taken away, it's when a sport stops being a sport.

I can only agree with that.

F1 is not what it used to be and it's more and more about money.
Of course entertainment is important, but if the fairness is lost it is just entertainment and not a real sport anymore...

We can only hope that everything will develop in a more watchable sport direction than the last years.
