Whit this change they were able to reach 5th-6th position in the last GP, imagine how big is not having a wall of hair in the front tires while everyone else got it.
If Miami is the only race they've had this new development, then it seems to have had zero positive effect. Fifth and sixth is not an improvement over any other race this season, most races they've been around there or a bit higher. After the final restart they were losing about a second a lap on the Ferrari and RB, which is in line with the rest of the season. It sounds as though if it gets banned, it won't make their car any worse. Honestly, people expecting Mercedes to improve so much that they would be fighting for a title is wrong and will never be right. Mercedes realized that they are not going to be fighting for a title this year or if not they should realize it right now and put the money for the car next year. It's clear that Red Bull and Ferrari found the way and they are going to fight for it and will probably get it. If Red Bull doesn't get any reliability issues and stop during the race, they will win most races and they will end up with the title again, this time around they will do it not just driver but also constructor as well. Hence why I believe it's not going to be that possible for Mercedes to win anything.

At Suzuki, unfortunately, it is now fixed and at the end of the 2022 season Suzuki will withdraw from MotoGP. The reasons given are for economic reasons. Mir is allegedly already in talks with HRC Honda.
But there will also be talks with Dorna, because Suzuki had a contract until 2026.

So far there has been no official statement from Suzuki, let's wait.
The confirmation from Suzuki itself has come out and in general it is very clear that the Suzuki manufacturer is indeed going to leave the MotoGP and other racing events. Next is the official statement from Suzuki that I read on Suzuki's official website;
"SUZUKI ANNOUNCEMENT" Team Suzuki Press Office – May 12. Suzuki Motor Corporation is in discussions with Dorna regarding the possibility of ending its participation in MotoGP at the end of 2022. Unfortunately, the current economical situation and the need to concentrate its effort on the big changes that the Automotive world is facing in these years, are forcing Suzuki to shift costs and human resources to develop new technologies. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our Suzuki Ecstar Team, to all those who have supported Suzuki's motorcycle racing activities for many years and to all Suzuki fans who have given us their enthusiastic support. Back to back Pole position for Pecco Bagnaia by setting a new record lap at the French Le Mans circuit today and Bagnaia's team mate, Jack Miller, who was second. So factory Ducati will start racing tomorrow on the front grid for both of their riders and this is a very extraordinary thing considering that Jack Miller with Ducati also won last year at France's Le Mans circuit.

Exactly by teamwork are both factory Ducatis in first and second place, very well done by Bagnaia and Miller, also the 3rd place of Alex on the Aprilia was again a very good performance. Tomorrow will be an exciting race and Ducati is for me the favorite, it looks like Ducati in contrast to the beginning of the season understands the new bike better. At the beginning of the year Ducati still had some problems.

Whoah. In the article, they are talking about 3 KG overall. That is a big number, the average loss is 2.5/10 of a second for every 10kg. So if that is true only by the weight they will be 1/10 faster, without considering the real improvments.

BREAKING NEWS!The race number 46 previously used by Valentino Rossi will be retired and the procession will take place at Mugello. What do you think? The problem is that Mimin Rossi doesn't want his number to be retired. Source: xfuera.id
News from other sources in Italian to reinforce this is also available. Valentino Rossi's number 46 will be picked up at Mugello: The ceremony will take place on Saturday 28 May, just before the MotoGP qualifying, on the starting grid of the Tuscan track in the presence of the Doctor. It's quite possible, back in the day I remember a team (maybe it was red bull?) ended up literally scarping every single color and ended up just putting the sponsorship stuff and had no color at all, and they saved a ton of KG for doing something like that. It was a bit of a controversy so that team put the painting back in, but we at least know that there could be some KG saved from it. Ferrari is not looking at changing colors or having none, and these cars are HUGE if you look at them closely, which means that if you consider how much paint is used, then it becomes even more obvious and consider how they go 300+ km per hour at some point and that paint still stays, this is not some basic painting neither so basically yes it is possible.

Very good start from Miller but he couldn't keep the speed, Bagnaia and Bastianini are riding in a league of their own today and looks like a Ducati double or triple win.
Too bad for the two Suzuki riders, had a very good speed but by the exit of Suzuki they probably wanted too much.

Guys, did you saw what Leclerc did today? There was event of historical F1 cars in Monaco and he crashed 1974 Ferrari of Niki Lauda: https://youtu.be/MN-3hXcWg1EIt should be shitty feeling to crash such legendary car, especially at your home track. BTW, I'm amazed how small these old cars looks compared with current ones. In old days it was possible to race and overtake even in Monaco track.

And Leclerc should toughen up and be willing to risk it and go toe to toe vs Verstappen. He's ahead in points anyway. Verstappen should be aware of it and won't do Leclerc like he did Hamilton last season. He would be more careful as he had one race with no points. He can't risk having another race of having no points again. The lighter car could also make them faster in the straights. They have a good power unit for the straights, a good package for the more technical parts of the track and a top driver in Leclerc. Excited for Spain.

I mean sure Ferrari could improve a bit, but during the season there are very rare situations where teams improve by a lot. For example Mercedes during that Brazil and afterwards run last year, they weren't "amazing" last year, but during that race dude started at last position and finished first and then did it again one day later. So, I doubt Ferrari has that type of improvement. Maybe a bit, but I do not think that the difference between them and Red Bull will be closing anytime soon, Red Bull will win almost all the races that they can finish, of course unexpected stuff happens in every season, but I see them as winning it this year.

Meregalli: "To fight for the win, we have to prepare for the race in a perfect way, do a perfect qualifying and also have a perfect start. When you can't get a perfect start, like Fabio today, it becomes difficult, even if Fabio's pace allows it him to reach a better finishing position. To overtake at a track like this, with this circuit layout, is very complicated for us. We have to manage this situation race by race. We leave Le Mans now and look forward to the next race at Mugello" Source: YamahaMotoGP.com/quartararo.id

Dunno.. I'm still in this train of thought that there's def still a good chance that they're going to dominate this season. They have a best power unit as shown with the other teams running on Ferrari power. They've had better results as of late as compared with seasons prior. And you know, I think Red Bull is pushing it too much with their power unit and we could see more reliability issues as we did at the start of the season. The real season has just started this weekend at Spain. But you're right, 'a lot' is a bit of an exaggeration. Lol. Anyway, I'll start doing these again and try to get more interest from our fellow degens. 2022 F1 Spanish GP ScheduleMay 20: Practice 1 14:00 - 15:00 May 20: Practice 2 17:00 - 18:00 May 21: Practice 3 13:00 - 14:00 May 21: Qualifying 16:00 - 17:00 May 22: Race 15:00 - 17:00 Anybody think Verstappen gets pole at quali this time around?

At the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, LecLerc had a very embarrassing mishap, he lost control of Lauda's 1976 Formula 1 Ferrari and slid his rear end into the tyres. The mechanics won't be very happy if the parts are still available or have to be specially made again for the repair, presumably. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN-3hXcWg1EV12 Sound

The confirmation from Suzuki itself has come out and in general it is very clear that the Suzuki manufacturer is indeed going to leave the MotoGP and other racing events. Next is the official statement from Suzuki that I read on Suzuki's official website;
"SUZUKI ANNOUNCEMENT" Team Suzuki Press Office – May 12. Suzuki Motor Corporation is in discussions with Dorna regarding the possibility of ending its participation in MotoGP at the end of 2022. It's official after I wrote my post. Of course, it is very sad, the motorcycle competition will be reduced next season. But if it's a final then it looks like we have to get it. Other options may not be obtained by Suzuki so dare to bear (possibly) sanctions from Dorna. Maybe dorna will give his official statement regarding what they will do for Suzuki and race next season. I'm waiting for that.

If Dorna is able to keep Suzuki from leaving next year's MotoGP, then that would be great, but everyone is now holding on to the official statement that was issued by Suzuki before the official statement from Dorna. I would be even more happy if Suzuki could still survive because motorcycle competition will become more and more intense, but due to the high cost issue, Suzuki has to focus in other directions as stated in his statement.

I miss the sounds of the screaming V8, V10 and the V12 engines. Those are the real engine sounds of F1. They're high pitch, very loud and screaming like banshees. Here's a vid comparing thhe three engines. Formula 1 Engine Sound Comparisonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V6y1bz-D-IHaving the V6 turbo run beside those cars wouldn't make it look too good imho. But yeah, I hope the new engines on 2026 would get some of the classic, 'real' F1 sound back. Anyway who you guys got winning the Spanish GP? I'm thinking Leclerc gets quali but Verstappen finds a way to win the race from behind once more. What do you guys think?
