As expected it was an easy pole for Ferrari, and Lecler was even improving before the red flag.

Perez did a mistake in the end and Sainz risked fatal damage for a late red flag.

In Monaco flag need to be quicker.

Charles Leclerc had two great practice sessions today. He led both of them and improved his best time in the FP2 also. Sainz and Perez followed him right behind in both sessions but I still can't trust Sainz for this race also. Because he has been making very simple mistakes for some races and I don't know why he has lost his focus this easy. It happened even right after extending his contract for two more years. Ferrari really need him to race at a higher level to fight for the constructors championship.

Charles is at home here, he has an advantage and he is driving a car with a lot of drag.
He must do the pole tomorrow, no excuses.

Charles Leclerc got the pole position. Good for him! He had a very quick qualifying session. He had a big gap with even the second driver at the end of the session. Leclerc was the lucky man this time as there was a crash while we were getting close to the end of Q3. It was a really weird crash by the way. Sainz didn't see the yellow flags and closed the road fully after crashing into Perez. He even thought that it was Verstappen which was hilarious. 

Finally Leclerc's luck has turned for this Grand Prix and I wonder whether he will win the race too.

Tomorrow we return to Italy, Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. Looking at the qualifying results I was quite surprised, there was a new name starting from number 1 and it was still unfamiliar.  Here are the top 5 qualifying results
   
1. F. Di Giannantonio
2. M. Bezzecchi
3. L. Marini
4. J. Zarco
5. F. Bagnaia

If you look at their motorcycles one factory. It corresponds to the character of the fast circuit. Ducati is in the top 5.

F. Di Giannantonio and M. Bezzecchi are rookie riders this year with different independent (satellite) teams even though they use the same engine, namely Ducati and in my opinion this is very unique because with Italian bikes in the italian grandprix and italian riders and italian teams, they are in the front row all the way today by beating all the riders from all the manufacturers.

Leclerc is quick.  And so is Perez in that Red Bull.  It looks like he has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove after the team order in Barcelona.  Lol.  And looks like I'm wrong.  Verstappen wasn't sand bagging.  He is slow..  But even slower than Perez?  

But yeah..  I don't think the grid would've changed much even if Perez didn't hit the barrier and with Sainz hitting him.  And there's high chance of rain tomorrow.

If Max doesn't overtake Perez at the start, then RB will tell Perez to get out of the way again, or else offset their pit stops so Max gets ahead. The big issue for Max is Sainz. If we assume Leclerc gets away ahead, then Sainz will inevitably lose time on him, and slow the Red Bulls behind him... which should mean a comfortable victory for Leclerc.

The big unknown really is who gets lucky with the timing of the inevitable safety cars... which becomes even more important if rain is due.

Sainz most probably would get team orders to not attack Leclerc at the first corner.If the above scenario happens and yes in theory it means a comfortable victory for Leclerc which he greatly needs the unknowns here are really a lot,a simple incident even from the last car that is running for nothing in 20th place can make a lot of changes to the race,the rain can make it even more difficult to drive and conditions may deteriorate which can change a lot and even some outsider can win in these conditions,heavy rain if he and his team make the right choice at the right time.

Taking into consideration a normal race it is a sure win for Leclerc.

The big thing really is that Perez qualified in third ahead of Max in fourth. Maybe Perez can get past Sainz at the start, but highly unlikely that Verstappen can, unless Sainz really messes up. Team order means Max can get past Perez, but he has to overtake Sainz as well to get close enough to Leclerc to try to take the lead at the pit stops... otherwise he gets stuck behind the slower moving Sainz and gradually loses time on Leclerc lap by lap, and can't undercut him in the pits. Barring a crazy start, Max's only real chance is getting lucky with safety cars.

It has now been completely canceled the launch and there is also no date for the launch yet. It was always obvious that the strategy would be let Sainz defend against everyone, and let Charles run wild until that moment. Thats going to be the case for the whole race, Sainz will just not let anyone pass, and that will allow Charles to beat everyone. Unless there is a big crash or something, which is not impossible with this weather, I am sure that he is going to get a very very easy win. Sad thing is, Monaco was designed this way, so that we wouldn't really have a good race but to have a good strategy fight, and thats not going to help Red Bull anymore, they can't do anything that would benefit them.

Another big and this time I mean a really big error from the Ferrari side,I liked his reply when Ferrari after screwing up told him a briefing that most likely no rain till the end,everybody will go till the end with these tires and Leclerc just replied,Perfect.This error if it doesn't change anything during the race for Leclerc can cost him the Championship as he was leading comfortably and doing great lap times.

Perez did also a great job as he was the first to claim to need the Inter,and spotted perfectly that moment,doing a lap 5 seconds faster than Leclerc and netted him the first place.The race is still on and now Redbull I don't understand why they changed to intermediary tires while Ferrari stayed on the hard ones.

That was completely Sainz's mistake, he denied the call when they did and Charles lost his window.
