You can buy silk here: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_silk

And then swap later when it is possible.

I said it once, and I will say it again. Those were rock bottom prices and we will never hit those again. These prices are still cheap. We should start to see a huge rally when people hear about release within the next couple of weeks. Then price will stabilize at 2000ish satoshi, but furthermore, that is only the beginning.

For now we are on the biggest crypto exchange, Poloniex. I don't see why in the near future when the release is among us that more crypto exchanges like Kraken and Bittrex wouldn't be on the horizon.

Quite possibly, the wallets are open source so there is no stopping it. But in case of actively pursuing it we will have to see. Coins that do not have adequate levels of volume tend to drop in price if they hit many exchanges too early, this can easily be explained. It is better to concentrate buy support to a few exchanges and then mature on to many. The rate of adoption to exchanges should be carefully managed in relation to demand.

That being said our focus will be on Weaver and Poloniex first. While not an exchange the Weaver will be a place to acquire either SLK or DRKSLK.

Out of curiousity will Weaver act similar to Tokenly swapbots?  Send an asset to a particular address and it kicks out another asset back to you?  Not sure if you are familiar with it but that's how you can buy Bitcrystal asset cards...

From what i know is that it acts much like shapeshift. Looking at Tokenly and Shapeshift I see that flows have changed and that they act very similar. I don't know if our process is the same, it might be required to send the coins before selecting the swap conditions instead of after. Changes in flow shouldn't alter the fundamentals of swapping however and modernising the flow will always be a concern.

Silk Network team:

What marketing plans do you have in place for the Silk Network? Also, when you guys announce the ICO will there be any bounties?

We believe to be involved in a project that will change things and if we communicate this well we will surely grow in number. Right now things are a bit quiet here, but that is because the development team has retreated to their own little space to concentrate their efforts. The Silkcoin thread used to be much more lively and those days will return. We will first monitor the response to SLK's place in the Network, change in volume will be a good gauge to where we stand as a whole.

Community members are more than welcome to step up to the plate and do things that they feel comfortable in doing. Behind bitcointalk we are looking to integrate many people to an organised workspace as more members join the caravan, coordinated efforts are key. No bounty schemes have been proposed.

Thanks for the response Orestes. I was not here for the pre SILK fiasco, but I'm glad that there is a dedicated dev team taking on a new task that seems will blow most of our expectations. I also believe getting the community more involved is an excellent effort for this project.
