Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.
personally i dont care how much people are using bitcoin .on freebitco.in are registred over 2 million peoples sk they are using bitcoin. i think over 5 million peoples use bitcoin
well you can't estimate the number of bitcoin user by look on freebitcoin's members since everyone can create many account out there as much as you can, i think the only way is just by from an exchanger, in my country there are more than 165k Users are already registered on our local exchange, and this is exact number since we provide our real identity for verification purpose, let's count for each country

Yup that is right. Total accounts registered in the freebit does not determine the total number of people who uses that certain site. Seem as this forum we really can't determine the total users. Business man always do look at the total purchase and sales of bitcoin which is much clear.

I don't think that its really possible to estimate the exact number of users using bitcoin and why should we waste our time in thinking that, and we very well know that community is growing day by day and that's really important.

It could have been possible if all the bitcoiners would have been using just one wallet or one exchange for their trades and keeping their coins so in that way maybe the wallet or the exchange could have the records of the users, but as there are a lot of them so it is not possible to count the exact users of bitcoin community.

Would it be possible to know the number of Bitcoin addresses that has at least been used say 10 times if so maybe it's possible to get an educated estimate no?

Well, If you will count all the people who are using Bitcoin, that would be impossible. Range maybe but the exact number of people using it ? You cant. Because everyday, there is always a member who will be using bitcoin since bitcoin is introduced across the world.

I don't think you can really measure the number of people using bitcoin accurately at any time because bitcoin is free to sign up and doesn't need any ID, and is mostly anonymous. You can measure the number of used addresses, but a person or organization can have multiple addresses.

Here: http://bitscan.com/bitnews/item/how-many-people-really-own-bitcoins-and-why-does-it-matter. It's quite outdated but you can safely say I think that there are around 2.5 million people right now using bitcoins. I think that's the absolutely minimum for now.
It is hard to say how much people are using Bitcoin because most of bitcoin users have more wallets and you can measure all the wallet from the world, byt we know that millions of people are using bitcoin.
To count how many people are there in a city is extremely difficult not to mention calculating how many bitcoin users are there all around the world so it’s gonna be a hard task for those who want to know about this. Therefore, why should we bother about the number, just need to know that it’s a very large number and it’s increasing everyday, every minute.

The estimation is calculated by the amount of transactions being done. We cannot know a certain accurate number, but we can know that its only going up.

I think we are still fewer users of bitcoin . i think in my speculation around 5% to 15% of users in bitcoin.
Bitcoin still not so popular but in the future we will see more users will come in bitcoin..

Exactly its going up for sure and its really hard to find the actual number of users as it is a decentralized currency and there is no official record to come to any conclusion.

At my opinion we can't calculate a number of people using bitcoin without pol or something like that, cause very often people trying to hide a fact of using bitcoins.

Well I don’t think there is a possible and easy way to know exactly the number of bitcoin users right now because bitcoin is mostly anonymous and one person can have a lot of accounts.

It’s not totally impossible but if you have the intention of determining the number of people using bitcoin, it won’t be as easy as pie but what’s the point of this, you just know that there are more and more people join the bitcoin world everyday and bitcoin can’t stop growing every minute.

Correct all of us know that it would never easy to calculate how many are the actual users of the bitcoin, there are no basis to be use for determining the actual users. but we only sure that every day the users of bitcoin is continuous rising.

Well BlockChain just reached 100M transactions just recently, so from there you can probably have an idea.

Blockchain wallet or transaction volume is by no means an accurate representation of the actual Bitcoin users. Many sites utilize Blockchain.info's API to send transactions and they are probably included in the count. If you want a slightly more accurate but still extremely inaccurate representation, you need to find the total unique address seen and divide by 100. Or if possible, just try to collate the total verified users from the various exchanges.

There are 40M unspent transaction outputs today.
So, there are no more than 40M humans who own at least 1 satoshi

We can not calculate how many people are using bitcoin because time to time the users are increasing we can not use the transaction to be the basis of the number of users because all users can do multiple transactions per day.

Yeah, well you said moreover if based on the transactions that appear in blockchains I think it would be difficult to calculate the number of users bitcoin. And I think now there is no thing that is capable of calculating it. To me it does not really matter, because it is not too intrusive. thanks

The amount of transactions tell us that bitcoin is growing but it is not usable to measure how many people are using bitcoins at the moment.

personally i dont care how much people are using bitcoin .on freebitco.in are registred over 2 million peoples sk they are using bitcoin. i think over 5 million peoples use bitcoin
well you can't estimate the number of bitcoin user by look on freebitcoin's members since everyone can create many account out there as much as you can, i think the only way is just by from an exchanger, in my country there are more than 165k Users are already registered on our local exchange, and this is exact number since we provide our real identity for verification purpose, let's count for each country

That's still not accurate way because those reason :
1. People could have use multiple exchange.
2. People could use multiple account for various reason such as troll, scam or took promotion.
3. Not every bitcoiner use exchange
4. Not every exchange told numbers of their users or give accurate number.
yes even one person can have dozens maybe hundreds bitcoin address, it will be hard if we want to estimate how many bitcoin users simply by counting the number of bitcoin address is already in use.

That is right, not every bitcoin user has just one wallet for keeping their coins but they always have multiple so that they can split their earnings for saving them from being lost for any reason, so no one can say how many users bitcoin community has just by counting the addresses.
