"Let ETH'$ argue about "morality" or "pragmatism." Ethereum Classic has one standard. Mathematics. This computer isn't gonna stop for anyone."

"We have 100's of volunteer devs on multiple projects. Around 7 core devs porting Mist, Geth, and Parity clients."

"Developers are excited! ETC is the fastest growing crypto-currency ever! Very cool projects on the horizon"

https://twitter.com/eth_classic  = allways a good read.

Ethereum Classic Mist Wallet - 0.8.1 (1.4.10 go-ethereum)

https://github.com/ethereumproject/mist/releases/tag/5cbe0c0

@whatisgravity whatisgravity released this 4 days ago · 1 commit to master since this release

This release contains a version of geth 1.4.10 specifically developed to work on the Ethereum Classic network. Without any flags, choices or additional setup you can use the Ethereum Classic network, with every feature working with ETC data.

ETC Mist Wallet currently has working conversions and easy access to Shapeshift.io's Shifty API. Revenue is generated through use of the Shifty API, revenue from this feature are currently collected by @whatisgravity. Any revenue fees will be handed over to the community development initiative.

This is a test pre-release, the OSX application is not signed because our organization does not yet have a key and the windows builds are not thoroughly tested. If the release is successful, signed Mist Browser builds will be released alongside a Mist Wallet release with enhanced security.

Please report any issues, and provide detailed information to make it easier for us to reproduce and resolve any issues quickly. Improved build scripts and in depth Linux build instructions are in the process of being edited for release.

Actually I just talked to him on reddit, he admits he was the dude, but claims he acted alone and VB knew nothing. Par for the course, same approach I figured they would have when confronted about the 51% attack attempt. Man these kids...give them just a little rope and they're hanging themselves before I finish my second beer.

I'm working on this for an updated post.  Standby.  May take a little while to get it organized in lurid enough style.  If you think I'm letting this slide into oblivion, you don't know me.  I LIKE using big, red letters.

"Also, even the small part I did, I acted as an individual, not as part of the Ethereum Foundation. I never told Vitalik about my plans"
I find this to be extremely hilarious brother, it's OK you don't have to lie. We all kind of assume he knew its fine
[–]avsa 3 points an hour ago
I'm not lying. He had an idea someone was trying to do a white hat attack, but didn't know who it was or the specifics of the plan

@tylerderden  good work   Cheesy
@MalReynolds spend the time to get it right, don't rush it.   Wink

But to change the subject for a bit:  Burst are doing well.  up 30% today.   They use a PoC algo.  Proof of Capacity!  You mine with hard drives.  It uses loads less power.  If could integrate something like that with ethereum Classic....  Again... it would open the network to more people.
You can mine Burst with a phone if you have a good size memory card.  Think of Africa and all those smart phones

BE MINDFUL
You know sometimes you can get tied up with money and politics and not only lose sight of the tech, but the tech can pass you by while you are preoccupied.  Why waste time with the things you cannot change, when there are thing you can be involved in that can bring about change.

We have a world Computer.  Top Dev is a Russian coder,  we have devs in Japan, a large mining infrastructure in China,  and nodes, miners and supporters all over the world.   People are working around the clock.  So.....  can we put aside the money and politics for a short while now please and move forward.  If Alex holds the keys, then he gets to choose what he does with the TOKENS. You only own what you can hold.  If you lose the keys, you lose those TOKENS

DO NOT INVEST WHAT YOU CANNOT AFORD TO LOSE...   IT IS BAD FOR THE SCIENCE

That said, i know what is going on is just so massive

Burst is hard on your drives though. My thoughts are keep Dagger, runs cool already established and we should keep things simple. Later after alot of thought we can switch to whatever we decide is best. Right now I think algorithm is pretty low on the list of things to mess with, just my 2 pesos

Like a say, prob the dark hacker come from eth team.

Just realise and think. they create TheDAO, and this is hacked, bit the "good hacker" bring back the coins, but just a part of them.

I think this DAO hack, and the FORK just happen for a big play to stole money!

Actually Burst is not hard on drives at all... Polling intervals are light and transactions are light.  So Burst type POC could work.  If you follow the Burst guys you will see there are some advantages of the Burst method POC, but as always there are some disadvantages as well.

In order to get the transaction times needed to scale and not become a slow dinosaur like BTC we need something that is faster than POW which is why a hybrid with a POS portion could allow ETC to scale.  I think if we keep our eyes on the prize of long term scale and transaction speeds we will have to concede that POW isn't up to the task by itself.  So we will have to give this some thought and should look at all of the possible options that are currently available.  I certainly hope we wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel.  There are other hybrid POW/POS coins out there that we could look at the pros and cons of their implementation.
