I believe this project is doomed to fail completely and very quickly. The Ethereum project flourished even when it was only a very a very "ethereal" idea, so to speak, on the basis of Vitalik Buterin and his team of developers. People were not investing in a crypto currency but in a tech project with -theoretically- the best minds in the business attached to it.

It doesn't really make any difference that they hard forked to punish the thieves. ETH will survive -and possibly thrive- while the "purists" at ETC will hit the ground of reality in a very quick manner. It isn't a matter of "personality cult" but of the highest minds involved in the project. That hasn't changed, fork or no fork. ETC, on the other hand, is just a blockchain, nothing else.

Sorry to bust the bubble some have adhere to, but reality is reality.

Yes, however, these same minds can be controlled, blackmailed, snuffed, etc.

"Control ... Blackmail ... Snuff"
Is that from the new roadmap for ETC? It's getting funnier and funnier...

@ocminer, the Etc hashrate on your pool is not updated? hmm.. it shows a steady 850gh but its like 700-750gh actually.. Is that what affecting the payout of the etc as compared to WTM.com? As I'm getting about 3-5 etc lesser than what I should get as according to WTM.com hmm.. after deducting the fees from CDM and your pool that is..

The Hashrate on the dashboard is updated every 30 seconds, so you might need to wait a bit.

WTM is always a bit positive from my experience, you can see estimations from the pool too on the Stats page:
https://etc.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Actually with the 10% bonus yesterday you should be getting quite a bit more than calculated Smiley

hmm.. stats show that I should get about 17-18 daily, I gotten 17.3 or so for the whole day.. so the bonus didn't actually change anything hahah.. just that I'm getting 5-7 etc lesser as compared.. so I'm confused which one is the correct one to gauge hmm..

Hmm looks ok for me if it matches what the pool says.

Maybe you can try pointing one rig to another pool and compare results - they should fairly well match up.

Oh barrabas..what you say made sense in the beginning, I bought it I profited. But now? They Vericoined  the chain dude, we both know how that went. Then there's the sloppy code that allowed the hack to occur in the first place. Then there's all the exchanges that lost money because of their poorly implemented bailout fork. Etc even managed to give them a ton of free etc that they could have used to turn around the perception that they weren't that bright after all, they proved that by keeping the etc rather than trying to remedy losses as a gesture of goodwill proving this is just another crypto scam, equipped with a premine, shady devs, and a blockchain that they intend to change anytime their money is at stake. Also publicly calling for a 51% attack on etc...the ones that gave them money..for free. None of this builds confidence in the team or their project right? If etc was such a shit coin it would have no support. It's been 2 weeks, it's on alot of big exchanges and has pretty healthy support from miners and alot of people in the community. I'm gonna have to disagree with you...as usual lol!

Where's the update on the 8M ETC you are holding, Alex?

They're stealing that from their own eth comrades

This is what ethereum should have been.

Vitalik sold immutable tokens and now the word has been wiped clean. This is false advertising, deceptive and bait and switch. Ethereum Classic believes in the original intent.

right on bitpop!

ETC has the potential to replace ETH right now

https://www.change.org/p/ethereum-foundation-members-of-ethereum-team-white-hats-to-return-etc-to-dao-holders
Just 3 people signed that petition. So I guess if it will not reach 100people he should burn all the money?
Also if i would have DAO, and Alex give me more eth, I would buy ETC since it has the potential to grow.
I thing if he really do sell 7m etc, it will drop the market but after that everyone start buying ETC at low price and pump.

...and pump. At least until the black hat hacker is starting to release his "rightfully owned" coins onto the ETC populace.
Since that guy isn't stupid, he'll probably sell those 3,6 mio coins drip by drip. Enjoy all those buying opportunities!

Yes it is absolutely terrible.  Although it is handy to have a button in the wallet where you can "Deposit With Bitcoin", it is immoral not to tell people that shapeshift and devs get a slice.

We have a "Deposit With Bitcoin" button on the new Classic Wallet however, we do not hide the fact of where the money goes.

Quote:- "ETC Mist Wallet currently has working conversions and easy access to Shapeshift.io's Shifty API. Revenue is generated through use of the Shifty API, revenue from this feature are currently collected by @whatisgravity. Any revenue fees will be handed over to the community development initiative."  REF:- https://github.com/ethereumproject/mist/releases/tag/5cbe0c0

It's on the download page for all to see and is such a small % you do not notice.

And if you don't want the devs and community to have a commission, you can go to shapeshift yourself and buy etc with bitcoin.  At least you know.

Meh...it just contributes even more to their malicious intent and vindictive attempts to screw etc holders, most of which are or were eth holders. So again these are not the sharpest knives in the drawer lol
