The restrictions only illicit pointless spam in order to get to business.

I'd like to actually post a legit question in another board, but am forced to post here and waste time instead. C'est la vie.

Third post. Yay.

You know, you can post questions in the Newbie forum too...

Well, I don't NEED to get out of here, but I'd like it. I wrote a Bitcoin miner and want to post it to the main miner forum. It has SSE support. Working on GPU support now. Somebody might be interested. Maybe not.

Hi

I am an a Bitcoin researcher and fascinated by cryptocurrencies and their sociopolitical effects. I request whitelisting because I'm neither a "noob" nor a spammer.

I am especially interested in Bitcoin startups and decentralized virtual companies.

I think in particular there is a need for a centralized bitcoin dash-board, giving a market price weighted across all exchanges: raw cost in terms of mining and electricity versus capex.

Someone needs be tracking that arbitrage.

I've been lurking here and mining on DeepBit and BTCGuild for about 3 weeks, and just registered today as I wanted to contribute to the SmartCoin on Linux discussion. I just realized I'd be unable to post there for a while unless I first requested permission here.

If I could be whitelisted, I would appreciate it!

Additionally, I wanted to send a PM to someone on the Marketplace replying to one of their ads. Will getting whitelisted allow me to do so? Thanks!!!

hi guys,

i already created a thread about this as a new topic, i'm sorry for that, i must have overseen this thread. sry for the extra work admins Sad
anyhow i'd still like to request talk powers, some other guys and myself did create the freenode channel #bitcoin-charity of which we would like to create a project for, guess what, charity Smiley
there already is this thread http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=22952.0 about our project and i'd really like to post something there and get the discussion running and get people to post there ideas and stuff. i really want to create something where bitcoins can be used for charity projects, so far we have ideas about microcredits and plain donations for say amnesty international.
please give me post powers, if possible you can restrict me to that thread untill i posted enaugh to be normally able to post and create threads. as i have a lot of work besides that project i just dont have the time to read through the newbies forum and somehow post 5 replies there, so your help would be really appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Edit by Maged:
Could you send me an example of what you want to post? We can't limit you to individual threads, so we must judge you like we do everyone else. Unfortunately, with no real posts for us to see, that's difficult to do.

I would love a whitelist.
I came by to tell everyone about my bad experience with bitcoinexchange.cc I would like to post under his topic as I understand it is the only way to get responses. Alas, as a newb I can not yet post. I wonder how many others would leave bad feedback for him only to be discouraged by the difficulty in registering on the forums. I promise not to troll and to keep it professional, but it does seem like bitcoinexchange.cc has let a lot of people down. Yes, this does go past MtGox and the other more recent bitcoin troubles.

I have a Free "Onlive" game I would like to sell in the marketplace. It expires July 4th and I'd like to sell it in time for someone to use it. I've also successfully helped someone get 2 6970s mining properly in the newbie forums.http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=23466.0

I work for a company and my boss wanted me to spend the next couple of weeks researching different kinds of online pay systems we can use other than the normal standards. A whitelist would be great so I can use all the resources of this site to help better my understanding. Unfortunately, I don't have much time so that would help.

Edit by Maged:
Before I whitelist you, I'd like it if you could clarify what you mean by "use all the resources of this site to help better my understanding." I'd like to make sure that this isn't a case of "(ab)use all the resources of this site to help better my understanding", where you just want us to do all your work for you. We won't be your personal search engine.

Thanks for your understanding, and I look forward to your reply.

I also trying to contract Vladimir but can not send him a message.  It just says 'error' when I try to send.  Do I have to post a message before the account gets white-listed?

Hi there,
I want to contact a user (Vladimir) about his mining contracts but can't do so until I am whitelisted.
Thanks

I'd like to get whitelisted. I've been lurking for a few weeks and wanted to make a purchase from a seller in the marketplace. The seller was have a limited time promotion and preferred to sell to people who can leave feedback for him.

I want out since I think I can help some people with hardware questions primarily.  I have a few years of experience writing unbiased "tell it like it is" hardware reviews and an in depth knowledge of current and future hardware (behold the digitally signed NDAs! Wink)

i'd like to be able to give a +1 rep for an in-person trade.

also, i have an interesting observation to share on lower bitcoin volatility, due to the dynamic stability of having two markets (i.e. the rise of TradeHill as a viable alternative).  i kinda know some stuff, and would be willing to share, if i'm (ahem) allowed to.

poasting follows a Zipf (power law) distribution, and there is a lot of treasure in the long tail...  if you're not careful, you could miss it.  (5 points for identifying the movie reference)

[oh, and i have well over 4 hours reading, but got auto-logged out, which is annoying]

I'm mining with a bunch of XFX 5830s and want to discuss and share settings/clocks/versions for optimum performance.  Can I have a whitelist please?  I'm not an evil spammer, promise Shocked)

I would like to post in the GUIminer thread in reply to this:

Quote
My GUI Miner is behaving pretty strangly I must say.
Now and then, it stops mining and it says "Connecting..." and it will not do anything else, untill I push the "stop" button and "start" butting. After I push the start button it will succesfully connect again.

This is causing my miner to have lots of downtime, especially when this occurs at night.
Because I can easily and succesfully start it again manually, it must be an issue with the GUI Miner itself.

How can I solve this? One way would be to write a AutoHotkey script which keeps an eye on the status of each miner, and clicks the "stop", "start" button as soon as one worker is stuck in the "connecting..." fase, but that seems a pretty stupid solution for the problem.
Since this is an issue that must be resolved in the source code of the GUI Miner itself.

I had this same problem and came up with a solution, which I am hopeful might be included in the next update of guiminer. I would like to post it before the next version of guiminer gets released.

In full disclosure, I'm not actually new but I don't visit here much, there is too much senseless bickering on here which I don't like to participate in or read. I am posting this now because I spent the last few hours trying to figure out what the problem was and just nailed it and wanted to share, then I found out I couldn't post and found this thread. To be completely honest in your consideration of my case, I have to admit there's a better than average chance I will forget to come back. I'm embarrassed to admit, I forget and get sidetracked easily.

Hi there.

I would like to be allowed in to the forum as I need some help regarding mining. I have read a lot of info in the mining forum but would like to ask some questions. I currently have a nVidia card and am looking at upgrading and thinking of going ATI for better mining potential.

I'm using GUIMiner alongside by bitcoin client at present and also need some help on selling my bitcoins once mined.

Regards,

bitcointraderuk.
