Unfortunately I, and many others, have been waiting many months for this latest batch to be released. And indeed they have sold out very quickly as the last batch did.  So best guess at this point is don't hold your breath for batch 3, few months or more would be a conservative guess.  Could be less, could be more... who knows besides those inside Bitmain who run the show?

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc
These aren't the Droids you're looking for: S5 & S7 (Sold), R4B2, R4B4 (RIP), 2x S9 obsolete, 2xS15-28, S17-56, S17-70
Pushing a whopping 1/5 PH!  Oh The SPEED!!!

Then this must be one of those scams:

I read about people trying to do this - taking payment by Bitcoin only & never delivering the Antminers. SMH

Well, I hope the R4 I found is legit. Just bought one, so I guess I'll see if they actually have it IN HAND in the USA & will ship it within 10 days...

Antminer R4, 8TH/s Designed for home use.NOTE: We ship the miner after 10 days
http://www.ebay.com/itm/162307697540

The seller has sold Antminers in the past, both used and a new one with positive feedback, so hopefully I'll have a new R4 to start mining with in about 2 weeks. Had to pay a premium price, but if it will be months b4 the next batch comes out, I'd rather have one now & hashing so it can pay for itself sooner rather than later when the difficulty increases.

People are paying $2000 USD for a batch 1 so you didn't pay too much.

Good to know. Thanks dogjunior.  Sure hope I actually get it.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread since others here are expecting theirs to come in this week.
Hope the R4 Batch 2's can be overclocked to 650 like the Batch 1's. We will see.

more like $1122 (1.457 btc) before shipping or $1218 shipped (1.582 btc), but who is counting... Grin
bottom line..meh deal.

R4 has always been priced at a heck of a premium vs the S9 on a $/hash basis - but they appear to have decided the Avalon 721 is competition for the R4.

I am just curious what peoples experience has been buying these off of Alibaba?  I see them listed there, but it is the wild west, or the wild east as the case may be when buying on Alibaba.  Thoughts?

From what I've heard, the website is legit and has controls and refund mechanisms like Amazon that work well for buyer protection.

That being said, I have never bought anything there and wouldn't risk 1k.

Please keep us in touch if it works out for you mate !

I've purchased a fair amount of things from Ali, it's just a clearinghouse for vendors.  Some vendors are legit, some may be less so.  I would make sure you work with a vendor that has the highest number of transactions as well as a high rating.  I've never had a problem, if you have questions you should use the contact mechanism to make sure you're getting what you think you're getting.

I noticed something strange:

Bitmain claimed each R4 weighed 9kg. But on UPS tracking the weight is 6kg. 50% overcharging?!

Wouldn't surprise me if they did overcharge for shipping cost. Just like using their own currency conversion rate  Cry

Perhaps that's the weight with both R4 and PSU in the box? They 'forgot' to adjust for those who didn't purchase both, me included!

I think this is a black and white argument and they should have no corner to cut. I am fine with they make money as long as it's justifiable, otherwise a plain fraud it is.

With all due respect, I think you are forgetting the current position of Bitmain. At the present time, they are a near monopoly on miners of this efficiency. If you don't like what they are charging, you are free to not buy from them. Unless and until there is a near alternative, they can get away with a lot that might otherwise be unacceptable.

A guy that is arguing that shipping fraud is OK because they are a monopoly.  Wow, just blows my mind that people will take this stance with any company.  It's because people like you that companies like this think it's OK to do and get away with it.  Congrats on being one of the people on this planet making it worse to live on.  You should be very proud.  If you see people doing wrong, you're one of the people that stand by and just accept it.  Wonder how far it goes before you grow a pair, but then it'll be too late of course.

Shipping fraud?
They charge you for shipping and handling.
No where does it say "thou shalt pay exact fedex price"
So there is no fraud.
They can charge you $120 for S&H on something that costs $2 to ship.
Still not fraud.

Try being a Canadian and ordering shit from ebay from the USA. Then you will see ridiculous shipping prices.

It is good practice to put margin on declared weight for shipping - if otherwise receiver may get hefty surcharge from courier, especially for int. consignment.

I just paid $100 to UPS for 3 boxes shipped from UK to France - and it was through special discount broker!!
So, how should I complain about $117 shipping from China to Europe? I think it is very close to "exact FeDex charge".

what kind of chip temps is everyone seeing on these?

There is a reading for "chip 1" and "chip 2" per board. I am seeing 90 (chip 1), 77 (chip2) on one board & 65 (chip 1), 77 (chip 2) on the other board
