Byteball project has big potential to change gambling industry based on this breaking ideas, easy to use wallet, fast transaction speed, blackbytes, DAG and more good things.
Some day Byteball will beat Dogecoin to be the first one in gambling industry.
Another plus point is Byteball has smart contracts.
I agree with you. Many still don't see the potential of Byteball.
The coin has many opportunities and prospects that have not yet been revealed.

Did nobody try something like that yet? I have been thinking for a while that something like that would be badly needed, extremely useful, but unfortunatelly I don't have the technical skills myself to do that. I hope you'll succed. After that the bot can be easily cloned to trade bytes against any other eth-tokens, which would be fantastic.

Hi, can somebody explain me what is this? I'm trying to send my blacbytes from freebee and getting this:

This error is explained in the wiki as ‘smart contract conditions not fulfilled’. So have a look at the smart payment freebe created in your wallet, something seems to be wrong there!

might be a suggestion for tony to make errors less programatic by nature and more human readable based on fail condition. would go a long way to increasing user friendliness. humans make a lot of mistakes at the best of times

You need the language javascript node.js and a byteball headless wallet.
Here a small tutorial https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Writing-chatbots-for-Byteball
For questions you are right in slack channel tech
I start my first byteball projects, too Wink

I still don't understand anything from that video.  It seems to be pointing us towards new distribution  model via upcoming bot, isn't it?  If that's true  how this can be accomplished smoothly and effectively?

That is true. Most programmers tend to focus on what happens when things go well, rather than when what happens when things go wrong. But Byteball has one of the best UIs amongst the various alts. There definitely is a focus on user-friendliness.

"Buy Bytes with Visa or Mastercard" is now updated and allows to buy Bytes even without real name attestation.  However, in this case there is no partial reimbursement of the (rather high) fees, and Indacoin will perform its own verification.

This update is useful for users who don't have Bytes even to pay for the attestation or just don't want their real name to be attested.

....
This is part of version 2.3 released today https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases

....
* Ability to sign arbitrary message to prove one's address.  The signer doesn't need to have any bytes.  The text to be signed is offered in chat, the signer clicks it and signs.

I added developer documentation about this feature https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Verifying-address-by-a-signed-message

Also, to help new developers get started with the bots, we added an example bot on github https://github.com/byteball/bot-example.  Developers can copy it and start adding their stuff.

Yes

thank you. and BTW
BTC bytes exchange bot works.
betting works
real name bot works
buy bytes via credit card works bot work
text coins are working

and now i am going to make more test with backbytes.

are these coins really untraceable?
do i just need a way to transfer the file to the recipient in a way that nobody can find out that i did it or is able to link it to me?

what i dont like is to wait for 6 minutes and no confirmation.

an i have a security concern with backbytes.

it could be a problem that it is possible the see if a blackbyte messages has been claimed or not. if somebody is able to find out at which time i claim the coins this could be a problem. this could be find out be just waiting and checking the status.
this is to much information for people that want the maximum possible security.

thats not true. i sent backbytes between my devices /wallets and i could see if it was claimed or not.

that why I think it is a security breach. too much metadata is visible.

Of course you can see that, but that's also all you can see. The DAG only stores a hash that stops you from sending the same Blackbytes again.
You may be interested in this: Byteball: Blackbytes FAQ.

@ChainSmoker
Think of Blackbytes as a post-it handed to you by the previous owner. The post-it says: "ChainSmoker is now the new owner". Together with handing you the post-it, the DAG registers that the previous owner is no longer the owner of these Blackbytes. The DAG does not register that you received the post-it.
Now, if you lose this post-it, the previous owner can simply give you another post-it that says: "ChainSmoker is now the new owner". *
If you want to give your Blackbytes to someone else, your post-it contains all the information you need to create a new valid post-it for the receiving user, and to register the change of ownership in the DAG.

I think giving Tonych your address (and asking politely) is enough. Resending means sending the same transaction again, you'll receive the exact same Blackbytes again.
The sending wallet can click "re-send private payloads" from the transaction history:

I really recommend to try the features Byteball has, create another wallet and send some money around.

* Comment needed on this analogy: does it help explain how Blackbytes work?

Very good analogy!

Marketing and PR has been lagging behind, that's absolutely obvious, but that too is being addressed and a rapidly growing team is the clear evidence of things looking brighter for Byteball's future. Whether it will fulfill your dreams of Lamborghinis and yachts is doubtful, but I have faith in this platform bringing positive change to people's lives and businesses.
