With this release, it became possible to send money to @username. I would have liked to register @Loyce to receive payments, but isn't 10 GB ($566) a bit much for this gimmick? For publicity, could you at least make much longer usernames a lot cheaper? Say @PayLoyceV for 1 MB instead of the current 1 GB? it is a cool feature. but as you wrote a bit expensive. but hey, i dont complain. i just wont use it.

It's also a way of showing appreciation for the project since the raised funds go towards the community fund. Like a donation but with the added benefit of a vanity address. Life long cryptographic proof of username which makes interacting on the network much more user friendly is worth a lot to me. I'm sure many interesting services can be built on top of this feature, like linking your BTC or ETH address or your patreon account. Content platforms or chatbots can integrate it and since the BB wallet can already be used as a "key" to any website, this now can contain identity information and public username as well to be used on the website. Lots of possibilities!

For the sake of god, why I have to have a 5-char name??? Silly thing: it is cheaper change my name to a longer one than register it on bb

Yeah, it`s good opportunity, but i think it`s a bit expensive. if i would be a merchant i would use it for sure. As a merchant, I would give each client a different address. If they all use the same address, you can't keep track of who's paying you. It's also a way of showing appreciation for the project since the raised funds go towards the community fund. Like a donation but with the added benefit of a vanity address. You make valid points, if you want to donate to the project, it's a good way to do so. I was more thinking about using this for publicity: it would be very nice to be able to say: "In Byteball, you don't need to remember my long address, just remember: @PayLoyceV. For that to happen, it should have a price that many people are willing to pay.

A very interesting coin. I really liked the design of their application, also liked their technology. I think soon this coin will be in the top 50.

We should pray that bittrex never goes offline.
Indeed - fortunately Byteball isn't the only participant in that prayer. Last thing that we need, bittrex byteball wallet is offline

Steem attestors reach more than 68,000
More than 68,000 Steem users have now connected their username to their Byteball wallet. That is an increase of around 7,000 on last week.
It's worth noting that this is the highest weekly number of Steem attestations in several weeks.

Byteball World Community Grid team update: I'm in . Nice to see a new asset (the 4th) on my wallet. I like this kind of distribution - this has practical relevance, invites you to play and demonstrates the capabilities of Byteball. Well done

Just goes to show you that Steem's native cryptocurrency is not ideal for that Reddit wannabe. The platform is great being said to be decentralized and all but using Bitshares technology is a lot clunkier.

Doesn't mean that byteball is a superior currency then STEEM
